it does not know...
Gryffindor gets Rubbies,
Ravenclaw gets saphires,
and Slytherin has been graced with Emeralds
(my birth stone)
but it only says
"Presumably Hufflepuff's hourglass contains some sort of yellow gemstone."

EDIT: Come to think of it, reading the description on Topazes carefully, it IS yellow. whee

Well...
It's a brown-ish yellow...
but I'm pretty sure it's considered by most to be yellow...
how do you say that one you wrote?
