Over 7 years
What model bass do you have?
Ibanez Sound Gear, five string, active pick ups, 24 frets.
Preferred method of playing?
Classic finger picking
Personal Influences?
My father. Plus I love almost all genres of music.

There are too many great bass players, but I have no idol.

I suppose about a year, but I started getting real lessons not too long ago.

Preferably fingers, preferably with my thumb. Picks are the devil. domokun

Um...Jim Rodford and Paul McCartney? Also, I guess my teacher Jerry, though he's more metal than rock. Really, I'm influenced by any good rock bassists.

I joined a while ago but I realize I forgot my introductions.
Hi, I'm Kayley. I'm a newbie bass player- was taking lessons, but I lost interest in the teacher- I'd rather teach myself. I play with my thumb and I'm fine with that. Know a bit about music theory from the lessons. My pass is a Yamaha, just until I get better, then I want a better one. I have a Fender practice amp too.
The bass line that got me hooked on playing was Nirvana's "Hairspray Queen" off of the album Incesticide. Such a kickass bass riff. Simple yet catchy. It made me want to be able to do it, too.
A bit more about me in general; I am 15 years old and I live in Ohio. My favourite bands are Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Damageplan (RIP Dimebag sad ) John Frusciante, Celldweller, Auf der Maur, HIM, Franz Ferdinand, RHCP, Black Sabbath, and so on. I love rock, grunge, and metal.

My best friend Sky. He was one of the best bass players I knew. He killed himself two years ago and his old bass was given to me so I started to teach myself.

abboouutt 6 years and im only getting deeper and falling more in love

its an Ibanez SG5 (sound gear series 5 string) it was my first and my only true love, her names Bessie
Preferred method of playing?
i find that picking, fingering, and slapping all have their place in my "style" of playing...if the song is meant to sound meaningful and to make every note count i use a pick (medium to light) *i also make use of chords in a lot of my original pieces and really a pick is the only way to go with chords*. if im laying down a fat groovy jazz or blues line the method i feel, does it justice is fingering...its smoothe and muddy. and of course if im just lashing out and goin hardcore a thick, harsh slap line on the low b is the best method!

i dont really know anyone else personaly who plays bass...i just picked it up cuz i loved fieldy!

I have a black Cort Curbow 4-string, amber Jay Turser P-Copy 4-string, and my main, a Conklin Groove Tools 7-string.
