What ever his qualms about his safety, he made it back upstairs in one piece. At the top of the stairs he rested for a few moments where one of the other students approached him, the new girl. She greeted him with a smile and gave out her hand for a kiss first and then a shake, a very odd gesture. He could only assume that the first gesture was more familiar to her. Which meant that she was used to greeting others by recieving a kiss on the wrist… Shin thought it was odd, so he tucked the note away for later. She wanted attention and was used to having her wrists kissed. She was obviously high up in political circles or atleast wanted to be. Shin could use the former and could deal with the later. Things were off to an ok start. He shook her hand and responded in a jolly demeanor, “Vesimine...that’s a nice name. The name is Shin Takamura. I believe I gave you my name before but at the time I was not myself in appearance.” Meaning that at the time he had been henging the teacher, so he might look a little new to her.Relaxation and fun were good at time but Shin had work to get back to. He was about to excuse himself and walk towards the boxes once again, but someone thing came up. When he looked where the boxes were, there were no more boxes to move. Which was predictable once he thought about it for a little bit. Three strong boys and only so many boxes meant much less work time than he would have at first estimated. Vesimine shook her head slightly as the young man, Shin, turned away from her to continue what he was doing. As appaled as she was to realize that he had caught her mistake she was a little supprised that he was so kind with her. Most people would have been offended by the gesture. Then again she hadn't been aroung "most people" in her life so who was she to know. The only time she had ever been on a regular sleeping scedual in order to meet "most people" was when her family was entertaining a guest and she would be needed to help in that affair.

It would appear that he was the only one to have not finished with the task at hand. Growling slightly to himself, Kira roughly pushed himself up, before his cold hazel eyes glared at the box he had attempted and failed to carry twice. He abruptly bent down, pushing his fingers under the box, and with a rough grunt, attempted to lift the box up once more. Hopefully he would be successful this time around...
Moving Boxes

Jericho smiled. “I will try my best not to burn anything, but I am not promising anything.” He turned the stove on and filled a pot with hot water. He then put the pot of water on the stove and waited for the water to boil. He put the rice in the water and stirred it around a little waiting for the rice to absorb the water. “Well at least I know how to make rice.” He said with a smile.

Jericho gathered all the ingredients he would use for the stir fry and put them near the stove. He put the wok on the stove and let it heat up. He leaned his back against the wall while he waited for the wok to heat up to the temperature he needed it to be. He let out a deep breath then remembered that he needed a spatula or something like it for flipping the food around. He quickly rummaged through the kitchen supplies and found two spatulas. “These will work.”

Jericho went back by the wok and watched it as it heated up. He found a huge bowl that would be great to put all stir fry when it was finished cooking. Jericho juggled with the spatulas while he waited. Jericho looked over at the rice to see how it was coming. There was still a lot of water in the pot and the rice was still rather hard, it still had a while to go.

Jericho stopped watching the wok and the rice and focused of juggling the two spatulas. Although this was not very hard and was hardly juggling he still found it fun. He hadn’t had much fun since he had been in the village, it seemed like it was all work and that’s it. Jericho caught one spatula and threw the other up then snatched it out of the air. He was getting bored of this and his mind soon began to wonder.

Jericho looked at those around him, Vesimine, she seems…nice, Shin, I don’t really know much about him yet, Uzuki, he seemed alright, only met him for a second yesterday though. Jericho looked around and saw Kira was still doing Senseis chores. That kid always seems like he is falling behind….I hope he picks up the slack soon, for his sake. Jericho turned around and noticed that he had neglected the wok, which was now red hot. Jericho quickly grabbed the handle and brought it over to the sink where he poured some water on it to cool it off.

Jericho returned the wok to the stove when it was at a moderate temperature and quickly threw the carrots, bamboo shoots, and cucumber pieces into the wok and flipped them around, adding soy sauce and other spices that he thought would go well. After flipping them around enough so they were cooked on all sides Jericho threw them into the huge bowl and set the wok back on the stove.

Jericho then looked over at the rice and noticed that it was nice and fluffy so he grabbed the pot and drained the remaining water and scooped the rice on top of the vegetables that were already in the bowl. “There….hmmm….it seems like its missing something.” Jericho said to himself as he scratched his head. “Oh I know, it could use some meat as well, I think chicken and beef will do.”

Jericho went over to the refrigerator and grabbed a few chicken breasts and slapped them onto a frying pan slowly cooked them. When the chicken finally finished cooking Jericho took the breasts off the frying pan and chopped them up and added them to the stir fry. “What else was it I was going to add to this…. Was it more vegetables…noo….spices maybe….no I don’t really know anything about spices…..hmmmm….what was it?” He said to him self as he started pacing back and forth.

Jericho continued pacing back and forth trying to remember what it was he forgot when his nose caught a strange smell. He looked over at the stove and realized he had left it on with the frying pan on it and that the greases were now burning. Jericho quickly grabbed the frying pan and ran it over to the sink and rinsed it off then went back to the stove and turned it off. Well that was stupid of me…. He thought to himself.

“Now what was I going to add to the stir fry….” He said to himself as he continued to pace back and forth. Maybe if I just look around I will remember. He thought to himself. Jericho walked over to the refrigerator and opened it up. He looked through every section in the refrigerator but nothing was helping him. “Hmmm what could it have been.” He said as he rubbed his eyes. “Because this stir fry is still missing something, I just cant put my finger on what it is.”

Suddenly a light bulb turned on in Jerichos head and he remembered that he wanted beef in the stir fry. Jericho went to the sink and got the frying pan that he had used with the chicken and put it back on the stove. He then went back to the kitchen and found a few good sized steaks and put them on the frying pan. He slowly cooked them and removed them from the frying pan when they were done. He chopped them up into bite sized chunks then added them to the rest of the stir fry. He mixed it all up then set it on the table in the dining room. Jericho then went back into the kitchen and grabbed six plates and set them around the round table. He grabbed three stools from the pile and set them up where the plates were that didn’t have chairs then went back into the kitchen. He got six glasses and filled them with water and put two cubes of ice from the freezer in each one and set them next to the plates. He then went into the living room and plopped himself on the couch and let out a deep breath.

Vesimine smiled as she watched Jericho work. It didn't seem like he knew too much about cooking. While he was busy with the chicken she slipped over and added both soy sauce and worcestershire sause. She walked back over to her area before he noticed and began her own work. She pulled a thing of rice towards her and grabbed some seaweed. She took carrots, avocado, and crab meat. She put it in small portions that made up a solid line on the seaweed.

Once that was done she doubled the seaweed over the loose ingerdents and pushing down only silghtly, began to roll. The roll was forming slowly because she didn't want to rush things and mess something up. It would be horrible if it fell apart when she went to cut it. Once she had the roll done she grabbed the rice and placing it like a sheet she pushed it onto the outside of the roll, she had no idea how to do this. She rolled until the white covered the black/green.

Vesimine picked up the roll to move it and she could feel it falling apart. She obviously hadn't done something right. She set it down gentally again and thought about it for a second. She focused on her inner eye and her memory brought her back to a time when she was small. She could see her mother in the kitchen. She was holding something wooden and flimsy. She took the "finished" uncut sushi roll and put it on top of the wood.

"That's right!" Vesimine muttered aloud. She needed to wrap it in that wooden thing so she could press harder and make the roll more solid without worrying for the well being of the softer ingredents. She went shuffling through droars and finally found what she was looking for. She walked quickly back to the cutting board - which she had washed! - and placed the roll onto the wood.

With a slight grunt, Kira had managed to lift the box up once more. The raven-haired boy teetered dangerously to the door and gulped slightly when he found himself staring down the stairs. Oh god... It looks like a long way down... And he really didn't want to fall and break something. No, not the things in the box. Sensei said he didn't care about the unwanted articles, and so, neither did Kira. Slowly, he took one shaky step down and another. When he reached the bottom of the stairs safely, he breathed a long sigh of relief.

The training room had a wooden floor which creaked slightly as Sensei stepped across it with his bare feet. He had selected his katana from the hallway as he'd passed it, and was holding it, unsheathed, in front of him now, staring at a wooden training dummy as expressionlessly as always. It was good he was rich because if you looked to the corner of the room you'd be able to see countless, ruined training dummies, the fate of this one once Sensei was done.
Wielding his katana gracefully with his right hand and estimating the distance with his left, Sensei paused a little before bringing his left hand to the sword handle and charging with a slash to the dummy's side.

[I don't know how Karite has such patience with training with a pure DC 15..]
The slash appeared perfect, in fact the mark the blade left on the wood was clean and straight, but Sensei abruptly stuttered to a halt and the expression on his face would tell any observers that it was anything but. It would either be too harsh a cut, or too weak. Or maybe the angle was wrong. Sensei was a perfectionist in every way and although his genjutsu and ninjutsu were crappy his katanajutsu was enough to rival most people in the village. And this was achieved only with continual training.
Attributing his failure to unwarmed muscles, Sensei stretched a little, before trying the charge again.

Jericho heard the sound of a sword unsheathing as well as foot steps in the other room. Jericho slowly pushed himself up and slowly tip toed in the direction of the sound. He peaked his head around the corner and into the room where he heard the sound to see Sensei wielding a katana and attacking a training dummy. Jericho stood in the doorway silently so he would not interrupt his training but he definitely wanted to watch this. Weapons always seemed so cool to Jericho and he couldn’t wait to start his own weapon training.
