It wasnt long from when Kumo had left the dock and began wandering around the Hidden Stone territory. He had heard rumors of one of the Akatsuki members known as Deidara. She specialized in clay...not to mention explosives. He had become quite interested and wanted to learn from her.
His thoughts were interuppted as a small spider appeared in a rock beside him. Kumo grinned, "Hey litt-!" he was cut off as the small spider exploded, sending kumo flying off towards a tree. As the smoke and dust cleared, looming over him was none other then Deidara.
"Hello...did you enjoy my art?" She asked, and smirked.

Kumo stood up and looked at her. He couldnt help but burst out laughing. "That...was beautiful! And cool!" he yelled, looking over at Deidara who seemed to look very smug now. "Glad you enjoyed...so, whatcha doing here?....You arent a shinobi hunter, are you?" She inquired and tilted her head.
Kumo shook his head. "No...I came here wondering if you could teach me some of your art?" he asked in a hopeful voice. Deidara's grin widenened.
"Sure...why not? Okay, lets begin then," She added, tossing Kumo a small pouch filled with clay. Kumo took out a small lump and looked at it. "Okay...what now?"

Deidara did the same and then molded it into a small spider. "Mold it into your desired shape, then insert your chakra into it, sound simple enough?" She asked, raising a brow.
Kumo looked at her spider then nodded. He twisted his clay until it came into a spider-like shape then attempted to focus chakra into his model. He tried again but nothing happened. 'Damn it, why isnt it working?!" he yelled in frustration as he attempted to focus chakra into the model but failed. Deidara noticed this and frowned.
"Hey kid...come here, lemme help you with that."

Kumo gave her a surprised look and set his model down on a rock as he walked over to her. "Okay, give me your hands....the bottom pair will do nicely," she said and took his hands in hers.
Then Kumo felt a large and painful searing feeling in his hands as if his palm were opening up. The feeling went on for several minutes and Kumo tried to hold back his cries of pain, but soon, Deidara let him go. "What the Hell..." he cut off, "Did you do...?" he continued and stared down at his hands. Where there had once been and closed and plain palm there were now a pair of toothed mouthes.
Deidara grinned and raised her own hands to expose her own set of small mouthes. "There...that should make things easier, now try again, pop some clay into them and those will imbue your chakra for you, then we'll move on from there."

Kumo just stood there, amazed by the pair of hands. "Wow..." was all he could say as he picked up his model once more and popped it into one of the mouthes which devoured it, then let it out several moments later. "Like that?" he asked and Deidara nodded.
"Now, put that down and I'll teach you to control it and let it move around," she said in a somewhat proud voice.

"Okay, now do as I do," Deidara continued, making several seals with her hands. "And concentrate where you would like the spider to go, now move it off over there," She said pointing to a large boulder several meters away.
Kumo attempted to make it move but the spider didnt even budge. He tried again and again and thirty minutes later, the spider moved over to the boulder. He looked up at Deidara, "What now?"

"Nows the fun part, do as I do," she said once more, making one last hand seal with her hands. Kumo examined the hand formation for several moments then swiftly did the same thing.
BOOM
There was a sudden and loud explosion and everything went up in a cloud of dust. A minute later, the dust cleared and where there had once been a large towering boulder, there was nothing more then a pile of rubble. Deidara grinned. "That....that was beautiful..."

Both Kumo and Deidara stood there for several moments, seemingly schocked at the scene that just occured. Kumo looked up at her, "So I guess that means you thought it was good then?" he asked in a hopeful tone.
"That was excellent," Deidara said proudly and smiled at Kumo. "Well done, I guess now we can move on," she added, now turning away from the rubble. They walked several meters until they found another particularly clear area where the sun shined down clearly. Deidara looked around for several moments then turned to face Kumo, "Okay, lets start here."

"Okay, now we're going to use clay again, but this one will be slightly different from what we just did, observe," She said, popping a lump of clay into one of the mouths on her hand. Several moments later, it ejected the clay which was now shaped like a small bird. She threw it into the air and made a quick hand seal or two, and immidietly, the bird grew large enough for several people to sit on.
The clay bird flapped its wings and with one mighty beat, soared up into the air. Deidara glanced down at Kumo and grinned, "Now you try!"

Kumo stared at the bird for several moments then nodded and pulled out a lump of claw and put it into one of the hands which devoured it greedily. Several moments later, it spit out a clay bird. Kumo set it on the ground and stepped away. He made several seals. There was a loud puff of smoke and when it cleared, the bird had grown....by an inch!
Kumo, "Sensei, its not working!" he whined, but Deidara just waved down at him, "Try again!"

After an hour of unsuccesful jutsus, Kumo was close to giving up but a lazy wave from Deidara told him to try again. Now more then irritated, he made one last set of seals and once again was engulfed in smoke. He had expected to see another mini bird, but found himself staring at a large model, almost as big as he was. He hopped on and expected it to move, but it didnt budge.
"Now do like what you did with the spider, use your chakra and give it life! Join me up here!"

Again, Kumo tried to breath life into the gigantic model by weaving another set of seals. The bird began to beat its wings. However, the flaps were a bit slow and didnt wasnt very fast. Obviously, it still needed a bit more life, but Deidara didnt seem to notice. Soon, he was up in the sky beside Deidara who nodded approvingly. "Good....now were going to do a quick test of what you just learned...I want you to hop off, detonate this bird, and make another one before you hit the ground."
"And what if I dont make it in time?!" Kumo suddenly blurted out, now thinking that this was all crazy, even suicide.
"Hey kid, thats your problem." Deidara replied calmly as she shrugged.

"Remember...to detonate, do one simple hand seal and..." Deidara did the hand seal and immidietly her bird exploded.
"Deidara?!" Kumo yelled into the cloud of smoke. It spread and engulfed the whole area. Kumo coughed loudly and covered his face, but a sudden gust of wind blew out the cloud around him, but where Deidara had been, was still a large smoky mass of smoke in the sky. Bits of clay rained down from it and hit the ground.
Immidietly an object broke through the cloud. Kumo squinted and could see Deidara jetting towards him on a new bird. She smirked as she glided past him. "Now you try."
