xmkatx How do you pronouce Seotaiji? My sister says 'see yo tie gee' depends, doens't he sing in Japanese too?? or did....so I don't kno. I'd have to ask my friend(he's studying Korean). *nods*

monchiki Geonitacka How do you pronounce his name? In korean that is. English doesn't have a good equivalent, but something like this: 'say-oh tay-gee'. The last part sounds like 'g' but a little harder--not a 'k' sound though! I'm still pretty bad at pronunciation myself sweatdrop

You pronounce it So-Teh-Gee. So (or Seo, or Suh) being his last name, TehGee (or Taiji or Tae Ji) being his first. Except it's not his real name. 3nodding

Seo is pronounced 'So' then? I've always said 'Soul' for 'Seoul' but I wasn't sure.

I think the Japanese pronunciation sounds similar to Filipino.
I'll watch a Korean movie and when they say someone's name it's like 'WTF did s/he say?!'
I really like Seotaiji's black hair. I've seen some pix and I really like his fashion.

In Korean, there's a word you can call someone who's older, and it's different depending on gender. Like if I were talking to an older guy, instead of saying his name, I'd call him "oppa". You can't translate that into English, so when they subtitle, they put in that person's name instead. That might be why it sounds like they're not saying the person's name, because they're not.

I don't even say his name >.< I'm not studying Korean nor will I in the near future so all korean things I write out or describe so I odn't butcher them. It's just one of those things I have where I don't like to butcher pronunciations. But then again everytime with diru and their Osakajo hall I say it the spanish way. Stupid Js being Hs >.<

Haha, I was just listening to Drunken Tiger's Rhyme Sharks (from Vol. 4 Foundation) and he mentions Seotaiji and says it 'So tie gee'. I'm not sure what he said about him but something about 'screaming fans'.

Is he a member of Drunken Tiger? I only know of Tiger JK (<- what's that stand for).

I don't think he's a member of DT, though, I think he's in the Movement crew. DT is Tiger JK and Shine. There used to be DJ Jhig, too, but I dunno if he was there for the last album.
