Force Heretic I: Remnant by Sean Williams and Shane Dix

Book 15 of the NJO

3/5 Sabers

And so begins the end, the end of the NJO, the final end to 19 effing books to read. Actually a fun read, I read most of it during the time after Finals when we had nothing to do, and it certainly was enjoyable.

Story: The New Republic exists no more. Completely reorganised into the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances, or Galactic Alliance for short, Chief of State Cal Omas and the Jedi decide on two vital missions for the war effort. First, Han and Leia Solo, along with Tahiri Veila and Twin Suns Squadron, escorted by the frigate Pride of Selonia Tahiri keeps having wierd possibly Vong-induced blackouts, as well. Their first stop is Galantos, home of the Fia, a world once unde Yevethan threat. The other mission sends Luke and Mara Skywalker, Jacen Solo, Tekli, Saba Sebatyne and Danni Quee to find the mythical planet Zonama Sekot (see my sum-up of Rogue Planet) and they'll stop by the Imperial Remnant and the Chiss. Anyways, on Galantos, Tahiri finds a totem of Yun-Yammka and passes out again, then Jaina and her wingmates find out that the Yevetha have been wiped out. All of a sudden, Vong come into the Galantos system and they are driven away. A mysterious Ryn tells the party to go to Bakura next. They find out that the Fia made a deal with the Peace Brigade that they would give them ores from the planet as long as they dealt with the Yevetha. Of course, the Brigade just had a Vong fleet decimate the Yevetha. Anyways, back to the Sekot Mission, they end up at Bastion, the Remnant Capital, which is under siege by the Vong. They help the Imperials by teaching them about yammosk jammers, which un-cooridnate the Vong movement. The fleet retreats to Yaga Minor, and Graand Admiral Pellaeon is injured to the point of death, but is healed and the Jedi help the Remnant route the Vong. Pellaeon offers a mutual agreement to share war resources with the Galactic Alliance, and although at first the Moffs refuse, they agree after some..forceful convincing and agree. Oh, then Luke and Co. GO off to the Unknown Regions and the Chiss, withh the Imperial ship Widowmaker as an escort. And all this time, Nom Anor, on the run from Death after his failiure at Ebaq 9, infilitrates the Shamed One heretics worshiping the Jedi and eventually, takes the name Yuu'sha, the Prophet, and gets his first two disciples.

Force Heretic II: Refugee by Sean Williams and Shane Dix

Book 16 of the NJO

4/5 Sabers

YES! the sequel to the Truce at Bakura that everyone wanted! Also, the only NJO book that like..had nothing to do with the Vong (save for the Nom Anor side-plot) Good read, read it after Truce at Bakura.

Story: Okay, the Search for Sekot is now on Csillia, where they have been alloted 2 days by the Chiss to search their libraries for Sekot. Some rogue chiss who dont like Baron Fel try and kill the gang, but they escape like always. Anyways. At Bakura, they discover that the P'w'ecks, the Slaves of the Ssi-Ruuk are rebelling with the grant of the Keeramak, this mutant Ssi Ruuk thing, and want to make peace with Bakura. Anyways, hijinks occur, Tahiri is still freaking out with the Riina Kwaad persona that was brainwashed into her, and eventually, it turns out that the Ssi-Ruuk are invading, but the P'W'ecks really do revolt and the Ssi Ruuk are stopped. oh yeah, Nom Anor is still sopreading the Jedi heresy and now has infiltrated Supreme Overlord Shimrra's dealings. And no Tahiri is in a coma trying to fight off Riina.

I know the summary was really nondescriptive, but its a good fun read.

Force Heretic III: Reunion by Sean Williams and Shane Dix

Book 17 of the NJO

3/5 Sabers

One thing that got me going during the Force Heretic trilogy was the fact that as I read, I kept envisioning it as a TV Series. The final novel in the trilogy was a good read for continuity purposes, but I doubt I would read it again. THe only problem with this novel was the fact that it would give you 2 pgs of Luke and CO. on Zonama Sekot ending on a cliffhanger, and then 30+ pgs of everyone else before revealing what happens to the party on Zonama.

Story: Nom Anor's heresy is going well, he has infiltrated Supreme Overlord Shimrra's dealings, and is gaining followers every day. Suddenly, one of his first two disciples attempts to assasinate him, the attempt foiled only by his second disciple. Dealings turn worse when his spy in Shimrra's court is discovered and murdered. That's the end of the Nom Anor Arc. Meanwhile, on the planet Onadax, Han hooks up with his old pal Droma the Ryn, who tells them that the communication relays to the Unknown Regions(where the Jade Shadow [/] is searching for Zonama Sekot) is under siege by the Vong. Han and Co. Take the Falcon to Esfandia to find themselves horribly outnumbered, but Grand Admiral Pellaeon comes with a fleet to save the day and the communications are restored. Also, the inner-battle between Riina Kwaad and Tahiri Veila comes to a close when they discover that if they cannot coexist, then they will die, and the two meld to become a different person, still under the moniker Tahiri. The party on Jade Shadow finally finds Zonama Sekot, under attack by the VOng, and Zonama Sekot( now reffered to as ZS by me) fends off the attackers. After some paranoia by the natives, the living portion of ZS, Sekot, appears to Luke and Jacen, as Anakin Skywalker to Luke and as Vergere to Jacen, and offers help in the war. Luke accepts but Jacen declines, and ZS enters the war anyway.

The saga is coming to a close...

Labyrinth of Evil by James Luceno

Book 1 of the Clone Wars 3 set

4/5 Sabers

I first must say that I am terribly sorry that I am disrupting your general chronological order. However, you probably know how I regard EU books. I hate them with a passion. So you know, assuming you saw the lightsaber count, that this must be good.

It is good... for a Star Wars book. Not stellar, but a solid good.

Anyway, yes, I never buy EU books anymore; my aunt bought it for me for the plane trip. I thought it would be rude not to read it, so I did.

It starts with a lot of excitement. Some confusing writing here and there, but otherwise very enjoyable. Luceno does squad-based military combat well. Anakin and Obi-Wan take a team of Clones into a Nemodian stronghold... on Nemodia. The Trade Federation wants a last grab at the riches there before the planet falls to the Republic, and so greedily risk life and limb to get them with a whole Republic navy/army on their back. Word is Nute Gunray and Rune Haako are there personally. It's a chance the pair of Generals/Jedi can't pass up.

There's lots of witty banter between the two throughout the story. It's actually witty, like in Ep. III. As opposed to the unfunny sludge in Ep. II. There's good humor in other places too. Let me just say Obi-Wan fights off a small legion of battle droids while high on fungi spores.

Of course they don't catch the Nemodians, but they do capture a couple of other things. The hapless TC-14, if you remember "her" from Ep. 1, and Gunray's mechno chair. The chair has a holo transciever that is wired to sidius, and thus it is used to spark a trail leading Obi and Annie to find him.

It's used to foil Grievous' first flailing for a hiding-place-planet, but that's pretty much it for the Republic using it militarily.

The dynamic duo, meanwhile, travel to a few worlds in their search. One I found incredibly interesting and entertaining. I don't want to reveal much. It's the first one they go to. Then there's the typical asteroid-based colony. Then the typical crappy planet with the obligatory speeder chase scene. The chase is quite boring, and I'd advise you to skip over it.

While all that is happening, it shifts from Sidus and friends to Palpatine and friends. It's fascinating. There are parts where you really wonder what Palpatine will do or say, and are totally surprised by his reaction. News that should be bad to Darth Siduis is taken in stride. His acting abilities are revelaed to be top-notch.

Siduis is also a bit more uncertain. It makes him more believable, so it's good. many thigs happen to screw up his plans, but his expertise in manipulation is exposed in that the plans never are screwed up.

There are some fun scenes with grievous and his dealings, and some backstory explanations with him.

After all that, turns out, whoops, sidius is on Coruscant! So a team of jedi and Republic special officers and droids go to find him. They wind through an interesting trail the reveals a little bit more about Coruscant life below the facade.

Annie and Obi go to fight Dooku in a distracting move made by Sidious. Sidious orchastrates the kidnapping. Grievous jumps to Coruscant. Attacks. Some prolonged scenes of battle that are annoying. Exciting stuff. Confusing bits on a train. Annie and Obi realize they've been fooled and come to the rescue.

And that's basically where Ep. III starts.

I liked this book. It was well-written. There were a couple parts where Luceno repeated conspicuous phrases, which i find incredibly annoying, but it was so rare it was tolerable. There was an impossible scene where fighters went up against a cap. ship and beat it, which put me in a huff. And that's really it. Some nice space battles. Nifty ground battles. Interesting insight into Coruscant. And Annakin/Obi-Wan's realtionship is really demonstrated. Overall a good book, highly recommended. The author collaborated with Lucas and other Star Wars media stuffs, and it really shows that he did some research and cooperation. Which is, of course, excellent.

The Final Prophecy by Greg Keyes

Three/ Five Lightsabers

Book 18 of the NJO

Eh, not bad, pretty good, im starting to notice that the books with the fewer Dramatis Personaes are the better ones, this one was actually a fun read, i read it on the plane, its short and tot he point.

Story: Corran Horn and Tahiri Veila are contacted by Yu'shaa (Nom Anor), saying that he had a prophecy of the living planet Zonama Sekot redeeming the Yuuzhan Vong. Deciding to check it out, Corran and Tahiri rendezvous with the Prophet, only to find out that they have to break into Shimrra's compound to break Nen Yim, Shimrra's shaper master and secret ehretic, and steal a Sekotan ship that Nen Yim was analzying. Soon, Corran, Tahiri, the Prophet, Nen Yim, and the priest Harrar are onboard the Sekotan ship on their way to ZS. On ZS, Nen Yim discovers some crazy similarities between the planet and the Yuuzhan Vong';s longlost homeworld, and when she makes an expirement to find out what, and does find out the secret of Sekot, she is brutally murdered by Yu'Shaa/ Nom Anor. Eventually, Nom Anor decides to try and kill Sekot with a virus, and ends up killing Harrar. The virus is stopped and Sekot lives. Nom Anor gets away with his Vong buddies. Meanwhile, the Galactic Alliance is staging a huge fight to take back Bilbringi. Wedge Antilles is to move his fleet in first, and then give the order for Admiral Krey'fey and Grand Admiral Pellaeon to bring int heir fleets. Unfortunately, the Vong take the oppurtunity to blow out the ENTIRE HoloNet and communications are impossible. Interdicted on both sides, Wedge's fleet fights bravely, and Han and Co. take the Falcon to nearby Imperial Star Destroyer, and gain 3 TIE Defenders under the command of a Captain Devis. Anyways, the battle gets fought and won with casualties like Pash Cracken, and the Alliance wins in the end, though Devis dies. Jaina then suspects that Pellaeon's illegitamate son was actually Devis.

One book left, and im done with the series i started back in january.

The Unifying Force by James Luceno

Volume 19 of the NJO

4.5 out of 5 lightsabers

I'm not fond of Luceno, I hated his Agents of Chaos duology, but the conclusion to the NJO redeemed him a little in my eyes. Its a pretty good read, and ties up some loose ends, and all that good stuff.

Story: The Vong are weak, and the Alliance is ready to Strike. The Battle for Coruscant begins in the skies, while Luke, Jaina and Jacen infiltrate the Supreme Overlord's lair. The sky's rain death, and Zonama Sekot offers assistance. Luke succeeds in killing Shimrra, and is injured badly, and they discover that Shimrra's jester Onimi was the true Supreme OVerlord and the only Vong to retain connection to the Force. Jacen slays Onimi by becoming one with the force. Warmaster Nas Choka surrenders to the Alliance, and all is well, though Jag Fel leaves Jaina to go to Csilla.

Dark Nest I: The Joiner King by Troy Denning

4/5 Sabers

Lets see...Troy Denning...the big 3 plus the new guys...and Killer Bugs...how can that not be a good book? It's a great read, and I really enjoyed it. Wierd thing is, it's got some very hinted sexual undertones, a first for a SW book. lol

Story: Okay, the Myrkr crash survivors feel a call in the Unknown Regions and they all follow it. Meanwhile, Chiss aristocras are coming to the Galactic Alliance asking, why the Jedi are meddling in a border dispute. Puzzled, Mara, Saba, Ben, Luke, Han and Leia go to investigate, with nothing to go on but a message sent across time by Jacen, and they end up in a wierd spaceport called Lizil with buglike creatures revealed to be the Killiks. They meet up with a crazy Ewok and a Sullustan named Jae Jun (the ewoks name is Tarfang)) and they all follow Jacen's message to the gang. Eventually it's found out that for some reason the Chiss are unprovokledly attacking the Killiks. They go to get the Myrkr survivor's and everyone aggrees to go, except for Lowbacca (who had to go EV in a battle), Jaina, Zekk and Alema Rar. So, Jacen, Tesar, Tekli and Tahiri go with Luke and Mara back home, and Saba, Han and Leia stay. Anyways, the side effect of staying in these nests of the Killiks too long is that you become a "Joiner" and you start to share minds. It's revealed that the leader of these Killik's is none other than Raynar Thul, who survived the crash to the planet those nine years ago, but denies that the two Dark Jedi, Lomi and Welk, who betrayed the Myrkr team at Myrkr, did also. Anyways, Saba is injured in a fight with a Dark jedi that they believe to be Welk, and so Leia and Han and Jae and Tarfang leave so that Saba can be treated. Then there's this crazy assasination attempts and crap, and then Alema freaks out on Leia and Han because she's a Joiner of the secret Gorog nest, that influences the rest of the Killik's but no-one knows about these guys(its a wierd concept, just read the book). Anyways, they all go back to the Nests, infiltratee the Gorog nest, totally screw it up, fiind Welk and kill him, and then they hypothesize that Lomi Plo is the true ruler of the Gorog nests. THey all go back to the Alliance (oh yeah the Jedi have a new temple on Coruscant), and Jaina and Zekk are pretty much sharing minds now, so it's wierd because Zekk can feel Jaina's feelings for Jag Fel, and Jaina can feel Zekk's feelings for her. In the end, Leia asks Saba to train her as a Jedi, and Luke manages to get the Killik's to move some of their nests to a planet Hana nd Leia found.

It's a good book, a little confusing, but if you read it, you're confusion will be cleared, and it sets the stage for the next two novels in the series.

Dark Nest II: The Unseen Queen by Troy Denning

4/5 sabers

Geez, I haven't done one of these in.. *hits backspace* two months! Anyways, this is a great book, Troy Denning said the Dark Nest trilogy would follow the OT formula, and this book definately has that ESB feeling.

Story: It is one year after the events of The Joiner King. Jaina and Zekk are still joined at the mind, to the point that they cannot distinguish whose thoughts are whose. Nine year oldBen Skywalker is now the informal apprentice to his cousin Jacen, the only person he feels comfortable using the Force around. The Killiks have now colonized the fourteen worlds of the Utegetu Nebula. But, the Dark Nest, the Unconscious of the Killik hives that Luke Skywalker seemingly destroyed at Kr, is still active. Their trademark black membrosia, an intensely intoxicating beverage is being run by smugglers and pirates everywhere, and Yuuzhan Vong war hero, Admiral Sien Sovv, is killed in a ship crash due to black membrosia intoxication. All is not well for the Galactic Alliance. Answering a summons to Woteba, an Utegetu world, Luke, Han, Leia, Mara, and the droids travel to meet UnuThul, the Joiner that was once Raynar Thul, Jedi Knight. UnuThul tells them that the Dark Nest was created by the wife and daughter of one of Mara's targets while she was the Emperor's Hand. He also tells them about the Fizz, a corrosive acid that is decimating all Killiks in any world in the Utegetu Nebula and blames the Jedi for giving them poisoned worlds. To give them reassurance of the Jedi non-involvment, Luke and Han stay behind on Woteba while Leia and Mara take a Fizz sample for analysis on Ossus. Meanwhile,, Luke and Han meet Alema Rar, the Dark Nest Joiner and ex-Jedi who gives them an activation key to Artoo, and shows them two scenes of Luke's parentage: one with Padme, and the other showing Anakin decimating the younglings of the Jedi temple. Meanwhile, Ben and Jacen take a detour from their trip to Endor, and stop to see Tenel Ka who has summoned Jacen. When they arrive, Jacen is told that Tenel Ka has had a daughter, and he is the father. The reason being that Tenel Ka used the Force to prolong the pregnancy. When Ben pipes up that they will be in trouble, Dark Nest Killiks suddenly attack the child. Ben, swaying under their influence again uses a powerful Force Push on Tenel Ka and the baby. The strength of the push was so strong that Jacen had to use a Force Grip to subdue Ben into sleep, and then repeatedly used the Force to instill false memories in him. To Jacen, the daughter means everything, and the only way to save her is to decimtte the Killiks. Tracing the attack to Tenel ka's grandmother Ta'a Chume, Jacen uses the force to give her a brain hehmorrage and then returns to Ossus with Ben, who has no recollection of the event. Meanwhile, with Luke on Woteba, Cal Omas, Chief of State declares that the Jedi need a temporary leader and appoints Corran Horn leader. This stirs up controversy between the other leaders. Leia and Saba, her master, take the Fizz to Cilghal who determines that it is an envior, mental defense system so advanced, the nanotechnology is not known to the Galactic Alliance. They return to the Utegetu Nebula, only to find out that it is being blockaded by the Fifth Fleet, headed by Admiral Bwu'atu, who defeated the Thrawn simulator every time. While attempting to run the blockade, they are detained on the Admiral Ackbar flagship of the Fifth Fleet. On Ossus, Kyp and Kyle Katarn lead some Jedi to steal StealthXs and lead a rescue team to Woteba and the Ackbar. Meanwhile, Jacen, who is seeing visions of eternal wars, leads some Jedi including Jaina and Zekk, under false pretenses, to instigate a war between the Chiss and Killiks, in the hopes that the Killiks will be decimated and his daughter, who is still unknown to everyone, will be spared. This succeeds, but when Jaina figures out she was duped, she vows never to fly with Jacen again and shuts off the twin bond between them. on Woteba, Han and Luke meet up with Jae Juun and Tarfang, who are now helping three Squibs who deal with the Killiks in distributing models of the X-Wing and Millenium Falcon. Luke and Han figure out that these models have Dark Nest Killiks in them, and they all board Juun's ship to try and get out of Woteba. They succeed, and end up in the Tarkin's Eye, a G-Class Star that turns out to be the hiding place of fifteen Killik hiveships, including the Dark Nest ship. Meanwhile, Leia and Saba are let go, because the Fifth Fleet discovers the Killiks at Tarkin's Eye. A large space battle is fought, and Luke and Mara and Han and Jae and Tarfang land up on the Dark Nest ship, where they battle Lomi Plo, but she gets away. The novel ends as the Killiks steal the Admiral Ackbar and Admiral Bwu'atu orders the fleet to continue attacking the Killiks, in hope of a retreat.

Dark Nest III: The Swarm War by Troy Denning

3/5 sabers

It was an okay book, the Luke scenes were just great, really proved that he is the greatest Jedi of the time.

Story:With all the internal squablling within the Jedi Order, it seems that the order will crumble. As the novel opens, Luke Skywalker uses all his strength in the Force to summon every single Jedi to Ossus. Only two refuse, the Joiners Jaina and Zekk, who are too busy involved in the war with the Chiss, fighting for the Killiks. At Ossus, Luke laments that he is sad that he is forced to do this and place himself in a position he does not want, as the Grand Master of the Jedi Knights. In addition, each Jedi must reaffirm their status as a Jedi to Luke, and if they cannot put the Jedi as their first priority, they must leave the order. Only two Jedi are shown leaving, the first is Danni Quee from the NJO who apparently became a Jedi, who leaves to stay with Zonama Sekot. THe second is Tenel Ka, who leaves because she is the Queen of the Hapes Cluster, and because she has to take care of her baby, Allana, who's father still remains secret to everyone but Jacen Solo (well duh, he's the father). Next, Jacen begins to argue that in order to destroy the Killik Colony but keep the species intact, they must kill Raynar Thul. Meanwhile, Lowbacca and Tesar Sebatyne tell Raynar's mother about the plot to kill them, and the two and Tahiri are exiled to Dagobah by Luke to meditate on what it meants to be a Jedi. Luke agrees to ponder the situation but looks for an alternative. In between, Artoo is unlocked and Luke sees his mother die, as well as his own birth. Finally, Luke comes up with a plan. First, Han and Leia go to rendezvous with Jaina, who will supply them with tiny Killiks that they would then place on a Chiss ship to distract them. Unfortunately, the plan fails and they are intercepted by Jag Fel, and are psycologically tortured. Nevertheless, Luke boards the Dark Nest ship, redeems Raynar Thul without having to kill him, and slays Lomi Plo. The Killiks then return to their disorganizeed state. Meanwhile, Leia and Alema Rar duel and Alema is seemingly eaten by a jungle predator. At the end, the Chiss/Galactic Alliance form a peace treaty on behalf of the Killiks and Leia is deemed an official Jedi Knight.

Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter by Michael Reeves

4/5 Sabers

I loved this book. It really provides a lot of insight into Darth Maul, and the interaction between I-Five and Pavan is wonderful.

The story begins just before Episode One. The Emperor begins to set in motion plans for a certian trade blockade on Naboo, but a squeamish Neimodian throws a wrench in the Emperor's plans when he sells information about the blockade to a shady info dealer, Lom Pavan, and his odd droid, I-Five. Needless to say, the Emperor isn't very happy about this and sends Darth Maul to silence both the Neimodian and Pavan.

Maul easily offs the Neimodian, but has a trickier time with Pavan, who seems to have the traditional scoundrel's luck. A young Jedi apprentice, Darsha Assant, gets mixed up in the affair and she, Pavan, and I-Five are pursued even into the bowels of Coruscant by the relentless Darth Maul. Darsha's master sacrifices himself to buy her and her charges more time to escape, but he only prolongs the inevitable. Darsha and I-Five are both killed by Darth Maul, and Pavan manages to escape and warn Senator Palpatine about the impending blockade.

Too bad Palpatine already knows.

(((5 months to the day since i've done one of these)))

Betrayal by Aaron Allston

Book One of Legacy of the Force

Saber Rating: 3/5

Reviewer's Notes: Pretty good, I liked it better than Vector Prime, which left too many open questions. This one does a nice job of opening the series, and its name reffers to various betrayals throughout the novel, most notably Han and Leia and Jacen.

Pick it up if you're a Corellian fan or someone trying to get into a new Series.

Summary: The book begins with Jacen Solo and his cousin and apprentice, Ben Skywalker, now 13 years of age, investigating a missile factory on Adumar. There, they learn that the factory is breaking regulation limits, and producing ammounts of missiles that could only be used to supply to other planets. When reported back to the Galactic Alliance, we learn taht there is a conflict brewing between the Corellian System, whose Chief of War is THrackan Sal-Solo, and the Galactic Alliance. At a family dinner, Han Solo is trapped between serving his home country and the interstellar government every member of his immediate family has served. It is then decided that in a show of force, the Galactic Alliance would attempt to scare Corellia out of its scheme of demanding independence but usurping GA benefits. A GA fleet is sent to the Corellian system where it would linger to instill fear. Meanwhile, Ben and Jacen would disable Centerpoint Station, which Sal-Solo has somehow managed to get online. Unfortunately, Wedge Antilles is captured by the GA so that he may stay neutral, but breaks out and becomes the liaison between the Correlians and Sal-Solo. At that point, it is revealed that the Corellians have amassed a large fleet, which engages the GA fleet. Although the GA manages to occupy Tralus, the head admiral sufferes a nervous breakdown. Meanwhile, the Jedi strike team led by Jaina and Tahiri strike to kidnap the Corellian Prime Minister and Sal-Solo. Unfortunately, a leak in intelligence alerted the Corellians to this, and both missions failed. Luckily, Operation Mynock, Ben and Jacen, manage to get Centerpoint offline when Ben encounters a droid that believes itself to be Anakin Solo and convinces it to deactivate the station. Later on, the Jedi regroup, and Ben reports to Luke and refuses to tell anyone else about the droid. IT is then decided that a meeting will be held between Corellia and the GA at a space station near Kuat. Unfortunately, a group of terminally ill murderers, believed to have been sent by someone else attack the convention, murdering Prime Minister Saxan of Corellia. Next Jacen finds a knotted thing at the scene of the crime and decides to follow that lead. meanwhile, Han and Leia attend a Corellian War meeting that was sanctioned by the new Prime Minister, in which a battle plan is created to retake Tralus from the GA, which will be done by maximizing civilian casualties and making it look as though they were done by the GA. Leia and Han are convinced that the only way to open negotiations for peace are if the GA leave Tralus and so they decide to help, Leia secretly assisting from a GA spacecraft and Han flying a bomber in a vital part of the mission. Meanwhile, the knots lead Jacen, Ben and another Jedi, Nelani Dinn, who totally is into Jacen, to Brisha Syo, who takes them to her home on an asteroid. She then seperates Dinn and Ben from she and Jacen, and forces them to fight Dark Side mynocks that project phantom enemies of Luke and Mara. Later, she reveals to Jacen that she is Lumiya, and that Vergere was a Sith. She says the asteroid was the home of Darth Vectivus, who although he was a Sith, was not a galaxy-conquering madman. She goes onto say that the Sith who were known for being bad were that way because they were originally bad. She continues saying that she cannot take a true Sith mantle as one would need a completely organic body to take full control of the Force. Jacen concedes, and strikes down Nelani Dinn, wipes Ben's mind and leaves. Meanwhile, the GA is defeated at Tralus.
