"Not that I know of. I--" Cassidy paused to see that Aubrey woman come hurrying down the beach.
Security, she guessed. To protect the dinosaur clones the aliens were making--oh come on, now, Cass. How stupid can you get?

((Oh whoops, i had no clue! Sorry -.- ;;;;; *BOW BOW BOW*
So, erm, should I go back to the journal now? How do I procede?))
When the car stopped right behind them, the Dude turned around, frazzled, and stared at the Jeep. WOW, this was like a movie. And OMG, ANOTHER CHICK! He stood up from the sand, the towel still across his sholders and smiled brightly
"Yo! Sure thing. What's the hurry, though?"
Well, the island WAS private. With a research facility ... maybe they didn't appreciate squatters after all ...

Aubrey smoothed down her skirt than geabbed a pen from behind her ear. She plastered a smile on her face. "Hi. My name is Dr. Aubrey Lockheart, but you can call me Aubrey. I'm overseeing a research facility here, on the island. I work with Doctor Nicholas Moreau, he, well, he owns this island..."
She smiled proudly, seeming to be impressed with her own information.
"So, may I have your name? Having boat trouble, are we?"
((No worries, its cool. Just Hige came rushing in and was like "GET AUBREY TO THE BEACH!" XD Which is how it would have been done ICly anyway ^_~ ))

((I feel like an accessory. XD Cassidy will excuse herself.))
Yeah. Definitely security. "Er. I'll just let you sort stuff out." Cassidy rose, brushing herself off. "You can just give me the towel back later, Sean... uh... Dude. Nice meeting you." She slipped off and went to fetch her book from the top of the beach.

((True true ^_^ that's what Moreau woudl have done
Bye Sunny! THANK YOU!))
Ah. Big important people were here. The Dude siled even wider and decided to try his best not to piss them off. Cuz if they were gonna kick him off the island or pay for the lagoon use - he was screwed. Money was smth Dude hadn't seen in a while.
"Erm. Sean. Sean Carroll. But I'd rahter you call me Dude. Yeah." - he brushed his dreads out the way, scratched his goatee and continued
"Yeah. My boat's beached on a bank. And I am out of gasoline. So if you could give me a hand gettign the baot out and I could maybe buy some gas off of you. Oh yeah, and does anyone here know how to fix radios ..."
Cuz researchers knew gadgets, right. Well, hopefully they knew something usefull for him. He turned around and gave Cassidy an appologetic smile, feeling a bit protective about his boat now. She was a good boat, if a bit down on luck currently.
"See ya around, Lucky Girl!" - he waved good bye

Aubrey raised an eyebrow, scribbling down his name on the clipboard. "Okay, thank you, er... Mister Dude."
She looked backed over to the boat. "Broken radio and out of gas you say?" She grinned. Perhaps Moreau was rubbing off on her after all.
"Well, I certainly don't know anything about radios, Mr. Dude, but if you could come with me," Aubrey motioned to the Jeep and rushed over to open the passenger side door for him, "I'll take you to see the good doctor. You look like you need a good checkup anyway. Rough ride, it seems. Glad to see you look mostly in tact. Say, do you happen to know when you got your last radio transmission out before it died? Does anyone know you're here?"

((dies, imagining Aubrey hand Sean a card and saying. "Here, please see Dr. Moreau. he is a good man and thorough." Yeah yeah, Big Lebowski joke.))
Still watching Cassidy leave, the Dude was listening to Aubrey only with one ear.
"Eh?" - he turned back to the inquisitive red head. "Yeah, well, I really do think I am okey. 'Sides I got no helath insurance, so the good doctor might not wanna check me out, anyway."
He scratched his goatee again, REALLY wishing he had a smoke now. Things seemed to be developing overly fast all of a sudden. What'd she care when his radio transmission was.
"Err ... well, I don't really use my radio much. Saving the batteries, ya know. But I got out of Marathon on Sunday and there were no storm warnings, but then this jerk of a tropical storm covered me Monday night. Yeah. What day is it?"
Yeah, really'd like to have a smoke. Or a beer. Or something.

Aubrey's smile grew even wider. "No, its okay, the doctor will want to see you. Anyway, you'll need your innocolation. Required, you know, to be immune. Some nasty tropical diseases you can get out here without them." She motioned to the door again. "Please? And Doctor Moreau has the only radio on the island anyway, perhaps you should speakwith him about it?"
((Haha, actually after watching the Big Lebowski yesterday, Aubrey has very much the personality of Brant, especially when she gets around Moreau XD))

((Except she's much much cuter ^_______^. Sorry, the Dude's giving her a hard time.))
The Dude chuckled: "What tropical disease, lady? Malaria? How'd I know you not gonna stick me with, ya know ... whatever the ******** you are researching here, eh?"
Cuz come on, the spiel about the rare tropical diseases sounded a bit fishy. He lived all over the Key and the Bahamas for the past few years and never heard anything about rare tropical diseases. But the Dude really couldn't afford pissing the owner of the island off. If they felt they had to stick him with something ... well, he'd just have to pray it wasn't anything bad.
"Yeah, 'suppose I got no choice there, Aubrey. And a radio would be much appreciated! What's the name for this island, anyway?"

Aubrey just smiled, closing the door after The Dude got in, side stepping his "accusation." "Dengue Fever," she said simply.
"Name? Well, actually, I'm not sure. I think its love and native-sounded, technically speaking, but everyone just calls it Moreau's Island."
She got in the driver's side and headed back up the trail. As they appraoched the moutain, a very (very) large sprawling complex of laboratores came into view. The largest of the building has a stylized logo with "Feral Laboratories" painting on in. Something that looked like a small town could be seen in the distance.

"Ah. Sounds deadly" - the Dude mused, holding on to the top of the car with one hand.
"WOW, you got quite a base here. Ya know, for cloning dinasaurs and all." - he was looking around at the buildings and the facilities. "Not many people though. What, did the dinos ate everyone?"

"Oh no no, " Aubrey mused. "No cloning dinosaurs here. Actually, we don''t do much cloning at all. But its all so facenating, regardless."
She approached the largest of the buildings, puttting the Jeep in park and walking around the Jeep to pull open the car for the man. "Oh, the main phase of the project just started, thats why we don''t have many people here yet. But we have a few, you met Miss Cassidy, I saw. She''s such a sweet a girl."
The front of the building was made intirely of mirrored glass, and while there was an obvious doorway, no handles of any kind. Aubrey walked up the stairs, looking over her shoulders to see if the man was following her.

Sean had climbed out of the car before Aubrey made it to the door and stuck his hands in the pockets.
"Oh yeah, she's sweet. You not gonna make her any trouble for, ya know, talking to a bumm like me?" - he said carefull, looking at the red head. Cuz whatever they were doing, must have been super secret, why otherwise they'd bother build a lab on an island.
As Aubrey walked on, the Dude, draggin his feet a bit, followed, looking around curiously at all the high tech stuff around him. He had to ask this Aubrey an important question but he was trying to gauge when the best time woudl be to do so. Cuz if they had no facility to repair the boat here, then he might be quite stuck here for a while. Hopefully they wouldn't mind too much. Hopefully. Cuz, really, the Dude had noone to radio. Who'd sail to friggin middle of nowhere to tow a boat, ya know? And hwo was he gonna pay for that ... maybe he could bribe Lil' Jim, or Smokey but it was mighty far to go ... And he really didn't want to get involved with the Chicanos and their drug dealing buisness even further.

"Trouble? Oh, of course not. People involved with the study end up having a lot of time on their hands. And after all, we want them to be happy. Thats one of the reason's its on a tropical island. If you're going to have to spend some time out of your summer to participate, might as well have fun doing it."
Aubrey stepped up the stairs. As she approached, the doors slid open with a slick floosh sound. She stood in the entrance, and motioned the man through. As soon as he was, Aubrey stepped out of the door way and the doors slid just as liquidly closed.
The main lobby was quite lovely. The floor was marble, decorated by a red oriental area rug. A few large plush couches were positioned around a cherry coffee table that had several science mags on top. A water cooler was in the corner, and Aubrey told the man he could help herself.
Smiling politely, Aubrey pulled out a very small radio, that looked like a cross between a beeper and a cel-phone, and flicked it open. "Doctor Moreau, I have a Mister Sean Carroll here to see you. The man from the beach?"
