"See? That wasn't so hard now, was it...?" He pulled out a vial from one of his many coat pockets. He's seen this happen before. He had the antidote. He kneeled by the girl, holding up her head. He smiled at the other. "Relax. I'm a doctor!" He laughed, uncorking the vial and letting it pour into her mouth. He held her jaw shut so she wouldn't spit it out. "Swallow. All of it."

“Who did this?” Yori looked at the man helping Shaon. “Was it you?" He asked as he griped his dagger in his jacket.

she hardly trusted the foreign liquid, but swallowed anyway, gasping as the icy hot liquid tore at her sensative stomach filled with alcohol. her body spasmed as he held her mouth shut. she felt scik, her head still swimmign sickly. she doubted this was the man that did it, but she coudln;t say anythign with her mouth closed by the man

He laughed. "What a stupid question. If I wanted to kill her, I wouldn't be helpin' her, now would I?" He got up and returned to his seat by Bryce.

Yori wasn’t doing such a good job on his first day as a detective. “…I guess not.” He sounded defeated. His attention went back to Shaon. “You okay?”

She sat weakly, still spitting out traces of blood. "yeah....i'll be alright." her legs felt numb though, the posion had already done that bit. she wouldn;t be able to move very well for a bit. "i'll be fine..."

Yori let out a booming laughter. “HA! You shouldn’t drink without me.” He told her. “And be careful next time, you haven’t made to the other side of the board yet. Remember? Here, let me help you up." He said as he picked her up. "Do you know who would do this?"

Shaon felt her red cheeks flush deeper as he pciekd her up. she hated being weak. "other side of the board?" she asked, confused by his words as he pulled her unresponsive body from the ground.

Yori rolled his eyes, “Ben told me you had a good memory, maybe you’re just a little shaken up from nearly dying. You’re just a pawn right now, try and stay alive until you reach the other side of the board.” He dragged her out of the bar and looked around. “I’m kinda lost, I was lucky enough to just find this bar. How do we get out of this hell?”

She pointed forwarc. "that way." she said numbly. "pawns are willign to sacrifice themselves for the better pieces." she mumbled. "as for who did it, it coudl have been anyone. one of the other gangs, soemone who wanted to have a good time, anyone." she tried to will herself to walk, but she couldn;t even feel ehr legs. she had to look down just to make sure that they were there.

“I never did like assassins who used poison, not balls.” He said as he headed in the direction she pointed. “Like I said, you must’ve never played a real game of chess, sure in the beginning there’re worthless, but towards the end of the game, pawns are the most deadliest pieces. Oh, I’m now an official detective thanks to Ben, so next time we met, I’m going to arrest you.” He said jokingly.
