I have a topic. Is there a right religion? i mean, is there a religion, that is the best to follow?
God is the one true belief and the only one to get to heaven. That is plain and simple. There are many religions but God is not a religion, God is our Creator! Follow God and you can't lose.

I was wondering how you all think about the meaning of God's love..I know everyone has their own idea about God's love but what does it really mean to you all?
PostPosted: Mon May 08, 2006 1:01 pm

The meaning of God's love? Probably the same as the meaning of true love. To really love someone means to want the very best for them. God loves unconditionally, so He wants what's best for us no matter what. And because he is God, He knows better than anyone, including ourselves, whats best for us, and sees to it that we get it. That's my understanding of God's love.

wicca, withcraft is the opposite of Christanity. Basically in a nutshell it is satanism and they are using christianity saying that christians got their religion from them! Ahhhhhgggggggg Are they insane?!!! They are also tied in with the environmental movement which if you read about it is part of the one world movement.
Actually, the two religions (Wicca and Christianity) have a lot in common. They both have communion (bread and wine), visualize good things that they want to happen, believe in not harming anyone, believe in God, believe in loving others, and believe in a creator. Many also believe that Jesus was a wonderful man - some even believe that he WAS God, also. It's just that they think that there were other people who may have been God, and that Jesus wasn't the ONLY way to heaven. But still - they are a lot closer to Christianity then you might think.

Both Witches and Christians have been given bad names because of the lies spread about them, and because of the people who have proclaimed themselves as such (but that in reality have not been what they say to were).

Satanism is s different story.

Witchcraft, eh?

Hm, this is definitely one reason why I'm against young children reading Harry Potter.

Yes, I do believe someone that isn't a strong Christian shouldn't watch or read things about it. They need to learn more about the Word first.
Don't people get it!? The ENTIRE Harry Potter story is a huge symbolic type metaphor thing for the CHRISTIAN story!!! Can't you see it!? It's like C S Lewis. It's very beautiful, actually.

You should factor in intent though... C.S. Lewis wrote with the intent of making it symbolic of christianity where as J.K. Rowling didn't. I've heard some people say that Harry Potter can be taken symbolicly of christianity but I fail to see it. Would you care to give an example of how it is? I'm a huge HP fan so don't worry about me not knowing what you're talking about.

Oh, I heard an interview with J K Rowling where she said that she is a Christian and does indeed go to a Christian church. There are many Christian symbols and meanings in the whole series, and she also said that if she were to elaborate any more on her Christian faith, then we might be smart enough to guess how the books are going to end. I think that I might already know, though.... since Harry actually seems to be like a sort of Jesus (don't shoot me!)

First of all, it's not always the exact same people who stand for the exact same thing. Sometimes the symbols change... but for the most part it's pretty much the same, I suppose.

At the beginning, Harry's mother died to save him. Only her perfect love for him saved him - and she died so that he could live. I supoose that is like Jesus dying to save the world... but about that one I'm not completely sure. Tha ones kind of lame.

I'm pretty sure that Harry Stands for Jesus, though. Especially since he is a "potter", and Jesus is "the potter". He also had very humble beginnings, and lived under the stairs (which is probably about as embarassing as being born in a stable filled with stinky animals and such).

Dumbledore is like God. Voldemort is Satan. Tom Riddle would be like Lucifer, I suppose.
Keeping that in mind, it very interesting to see that Dumbledore knew that Tom Riddle was powerful, and Tom got his start at Dumbledore's school. After that he became "bad" and turned into Voldemort - just like Lucifer fell and became Satan. But Satan comes from where God comes from - Heaven - and Voldemort comes from where Dumbledore comes form - Hogwarts.

I also have a theory that the phoenix that gave both Harry and Voldemort it's feathers for their wands, come from Fawx or something that has to do with Dumbledore. It's like... how Lucifer and Jesus both, in a way, come from the same place. And in the end there will be a battle over good and evil. Harry and Voldemort - just like in the end of times, there will be a battle - Jesus and Satan.

It's also interesting that no matter how powerful Voldemort is - he is not more powerful than Dumbledore. As a matter of fact - anywhere where Dumbledore is, you know you are safe form Voldemort. He is the one preson that Voldemort is afraid of.

Also, the way to get to Hogwarts is very narrow and not many people know of it or can get in - and - it is at King's Cross (station). Kings Cross! Interesting? I thought so.

There are sooo many millions of symbols in these stories - I'm finding them all the time! Plus, there is an entire book about it, called "The Gospel According to Harry Potter: Spirituality in the Stories of the World's Most Famous Seeker" By Connie Neal. I got to skimthrough it and it is VERY interesting.

Makes sense, I can see how those would work. I suddenly like the series just a little bit more now. wink But I've always really liked it.

ok i'm not sure if this is the right place to talk bout this but can someone tell me why so many teenagers and young adults have to do bodily harm to themselves such as cutting themselves...i know that they say that is the only way to release the pain that is within themselves but isnt there a different way of doing that?

I was depressed for three years, but I never cut myself. I do know much about a damaged mentality, and the motivation is self-hatred. To do harm to yourself is to get back at all the negative thoughts. It's a sad thing, my friend does it.

I never cut myself, but I know several people that do and it breaks my heart to know that they find comfort in doing so rather than turning to the Lord for strength and comfort.

Talking about depression, how can one make themselves come out from this? Is there really an answer, or do we just let things go and hope for the best?

I believe the best way to treat deppresion is to discover the root cause. Search below the "this sucks, that sucks, life is futile" things and see what started the problem and when it started happening. If you can find something then start working with yourself to overcome it. If nothing can be found you should possibly see a mental health proffesional to see if it is something chemical instead of simply the reaction of an action

I'm sure most of us would agree with this; I do. Just something we need to actually do.

About the depression stuff. If there was something to make you depressed like a trauma in your life then maybe you should talk to someone, maybe not pros but a friend who you trust and even if your just depressed then talk to someone anyways. I myself wouldnt want to talk to a pro. Some people get worse from it because it makes them feel....crazy if that makes much sence. It just depends on the person and how bad the depression is.

Ok read below. =P

Hey just had a topic to talk about that could be long lol. Steve Irwin. What do you think about them wanting to realese his entire death video? I would perfer if they didnt show any but if they absolutly had to...just showing the part before he gets killed would be ok..right? I mean because its kind of like his shows..Swimming with the animals and stuff..So Idk I just dont think they should realese the entire thing. Its just wrong. What do you think?
