Naruto looked nervious as he glanced voer the people. He saw how Kiba tensed when the others said he had lost to the 'new kid' and knew at once this was a mistake. He wasnt a new kid, he had been here for awhile and the others jsut hadnt noticed him. Kibe didnt even tell them his name. "Mistake..this was a mistake.." he said, vowing not to come back and wondered if he could beat a retreat now

"Just take a break now, everybody!" Kiba ordered as he watched as the next batch of runners were ready to fall to the ground. "Water's over there if you need it." Even without energy, the track members struggled to get to the water. Some were even crawling. Kiba walked over to Naruto. "Good job. The team will surely take you in."

Naruto glanced away "they dont look it" he said in a soft voice, shifting weight from one foot to the other and clearly uncomfortable. He glanced over at hte rest of hte team, expectign ht same looks as before

"Well, maybe not at this moment. They are kinda dying of thirst," Kiba laughed. "Would you like some water, Naruto?"

He WAS thristy and gave a slow nod. It was clear he was uneasy being around groups of people, espacily jocks given the past track record he had with them.

"Okay," Kiba smiled as he walked over to the rest of the team that looked as if they were inhaling the water. He quickly got to the front of the line and filled up two cups. He walked back to Naruto and handed out the extra cup. "Here you go."

Naruto gave him a bright yet tired smile as he downed hte water, giving a sigh of releif "Thats better" he said as he brushed sweat damped hair away from his face, the sunlight catchign the strands and makign them sparkle

Kiba drank up all his water. "We'll being running a mile next. That should help the distance runners know where they stand in the team."

"Are you sure i should stay?" he asked, glancing voer at the rest of the team a bit nerviously. He was stil lso used to large groups being there to attack him that it made him jumpy

"Yes, stay. We really need someone better in the long distance races. The person currently thrown into the event hates me at the moment. I think he'll be happy that I'll have to put him into another event," Kiba laughed. He looked at the small group of team members with death glares. "Wow, they don't seem happy to run today. Is it a bad day today?" He let out a small sigh and looked back at Naruto. "Don't worry. Those are the long distance relay runners."

Naruto gave a small sigh and a slow nod "if you think you need me." he said reluctently, he hated causng friction but he DID want to stay.

Kiba walked over to the relay runners and set them up. He grabbed a bag that was off the track and pulled out some batons. He handed them out to the first batch of racers and pulled the second batch off the track. He looked over at Naruto and signaled for him to get off of the track.

He padded off the track and wandered to teh side where he could watch hte runners go around hte rtack. He stuffed his hands into his pantd and bounced on his toes as he watched silently, seeming to relax a little bit

Kiba pulled out a whistle from his pocket and raised his hand into the air. "On your mark! Get set!" He blew the whistle and watched as the first set of runners took off. He looked to the ones off the track and signaled them to get ready.

naruto wandered over to Kiba and stood silently, seemingly feeling more comfortable around this male then anyone else "you have a good team:" he commented with a little msile
