Still, it means more in English than the Japanese word, which I've been told has no direct translation.

There are tons of words in other languages that don't translate directly into English. Someone wrote a book about it.

Numbers and I don't always agree...
I'm a writer and also a big language person. I just started my college Latin class today.

I was too young to know how I did in my Spanish class. lol
I like Latin. I even made my Stargate OC fluent in it. Then again, it's pretty much her native language.

they use a lot of latin for ancient, i feel bad for the researchers for that show

They don't do it right, either. They had one mostly good sentence, and that was Jack's line "Ego volo novum locus." The adjective and subject don't agrre, though, which ruins it. xp

well they can get away with it becasue technically it's not latin, it's ancient
