The next morning Midori was woken up by a sudden yelling. She slowly got opened her eyes, and looked around. She looked over at Kanki, half asleep still. Did she look different, or was it just her? She then looked around, everything seemed smaller.. Did everything shrink while they were sleeping? She had no idea, and couldn't understand anything Kanki was saying. She was still half asleep, you know.
She then suddenly noticed something swaying back and forth in the air. Her eyes widened, as she followed it with her eyes. It was just getting to be morning, and she could barely see what it was. She tried to pounce at it, but couldn't move very far in the small space. So all she could do was try to bat at the object. Which was actually her tail, which seemed to have gotten a bit longer. She had completely forgot about Kanki.. Short attention span sometimes...

Kanki squirmed out of the tree trunk and clung to the bark, she looked at herself for a moment, "wait a second... duh! We grew!" She looked at herself, allured by the strange glow she illuminated. This... this... this means I get to finally go out on my own! She gave a little squee and would jump for joy too but she was in a tree and that would be bad. "Midori! Have you changed any?" Obviously she did, but with all the excitement she wasn't being her usual self watching whatever she said. She wagged her trimmed tail and looked at it, wondering if her brother grew any too.

Midori was still paying attention to her new tail. She had basically forgot about Kanki, even with all the noise she was making. But Kanki finally caught her attention when she asked if she had changed. Midori looked down upon herself, she didn't look any different. She was still the same spotted little Ulaya. Maybe Kanki was just dreaming. "It doesn't look like I've changed." She said, looking oddly at herself. Even though she was crammed in a tree, she didn't think they had grown. Her slow side kicked in this early morning.

Kanki slapped her forehead with one free paw, "I mean... does the tree look smaller to you?" Kanki sighed, she was a little slow figuring that story out yesterday in the afternoon so in the morning she must be extra slow... Kanki bit her lower lip and looked around, the world did seem a bit smaller now that they were bigger. Some growth spurt that was... according to my size I must be an adult already! I didn't even get to enjoy my child hood... She thought somewhat glumly, even though her childhood whatever had been of it wasn't that great.

(( Sorry for such a late response. x.o; )) Midori looked around. Everything did seem smaller, but that doesn't mean she grew up! Well, she thought anyway. Midori looks over at Kanki, "Yeah, everything ish smaller! I guess the tree shrunk." She said, a tad bit sad. They had just found this tree, and now it's all small.
Midori still hadn't realized she had grown. She still had the idea that everything shrunk in her mind. Not to mention she looked pretty much the same, but bigger. She just still hasn't realized it yet. She was rather slow sometimes, and Kanki is seeing this side of her quite a bit.

Kanki nodded her head slowly. "Uh huh..." She sighed and looked down for a minute before looking back at Midori. "Midori, you do realize... it's impossible for a tree and the rest of the worl to shrink, right? Tree's don't shrink, they grow. And just like trees we've grown. Over night we went through an extrodinary phase of life which is known as a growth spurt." She wagged her tail a bit. "Midori, just stop and pause for a moment to think about it."

Midori looked at Kanki, then paused looking at herself. She hadn't been taught anything, and her words showed it. It seemed that Kanki was right, she had grown! How amazing! She was grown, and yet she looked exactly the same!
Midori looked at Kanki quite excited! "You're right! I have grown! And I still look exactly the same!" She said, her voice showing how excited she was. Everyone only grew up once in their lives, and she was finally grown. But she seemed to get overly excited about the whole thing. Typical of her, yesh?

Kanki nodded slowly, "...right." She looked around, "sooo... what now? We're bigger... but I don't feel any different, do you? My thought process seems pretty much the same, not any younger, not any older..." She was a bit disappointed, expecting a little more than just getting bigger out of her growth spurt. Wait a second...! "Yessss!!!" Kanki said aloud, remembering something. "I can finally leave Grandma and Farfalla!!!" That's one perk at least...

Midori nodded as Kanki spoke. She didn't feel any different either, I suppose that was normal. She also didn't know what else they could do. Midori wasn't very good at looking for things to do, if she was distracted. Which she kept getting once she saw her tail swinging about. As if she didn't realize it was herself making her tail do that. It was already kinda bad that she got distracted rather easily, but by her own tail? She truly is a child. Once she heard Kanki say actual names, she tilted her head in confusion. "Leave?" She asked, not knowing exactly what she was talking about.

Kanki blinked, "oh, I mean I can finally go out on my own truly for once. Meaning... not held down by chains by my caretakers." She sighed, expecting her to say "you'll learn that you'll miss it soon" or something like that but Kanki wasn't so sure if Midori was the type to say that but she already knew some time int he future she'll eventually regret growing and wasting time.

Midori looked down at Kanki. "Oh, is that what you meant?" She said. Midori had always, for the most part, been out on her own. She never really spent much time with her family, and when she did, it wasn't for a very long time. Once it was over, she went her seperate way from her family. Maybe it was just her adventurous side pulling her away from them, but it still happened. She still loves her family, but she didn't learn much from them, and never knew what was going on. She still has much learning to do. "I've been on meh own most teh time I was a kit. It's not that bad." She said, giving Kanki a nice smile.

Kanki smiled, "I have a feeling though you're not going to be alone as an adult though. You're a likable ulaya, Midori." She nodded before starting to scale down the tree, as just clinging to the side of it was beginning to get tiring. She looked at her paw as it glowed brightly as if on fire, hm, guess my mood shows pretty easily.

Midori looked down at Kanki, as she waited to go down the tree herself. "I guess so. But after you're alone most your life, I guess it doesn't matter if you stay that way or not." She said, not really sure of how her future would turn out. And she wouldn't mind if she were alone or not. But I suppose the only person who could tell her that would probably be Chronos. To bad he wasn't around.

Once Kanki was on the ground again she shook herself off and stretched. She blinked, Midori served a point, if you're alone then you're alone, if you aren't you aren't. She blinked, she didn't like being lonely, but she was also very shy and was already use to it, so it didn't matter.

Midori looked down to see that Kanki had reached the floor. She began to carefully climb down the tree as her friend did. Making sure that she wouldn't slip in anyway. Midori had no problem with getting hurt, she just didn't like it all the time. And of course, who would like to get hurt?
Once she reached the ground, safe and sound, she streched out some as well. Looking at the female, she gave he a smile. Her words might've been true, but I suppose no one every really wants to be alone. I suppose if that were to happen, then you'd just have to deal with it. But who ever really wants to be alone? I would like to say no one, and it could possibly be correct.
