Hmm, Bethesda doesn't ring a bell for me... neutral
I suppose you could be right but there seem to be animals still that are supposed to be the ancestors of other animals still alive today. I can't think of any actual examples right now but I remember hearing a host from a show in discovery channel about this... I wish I could remember. rolleyes

hypnocrown I know but, haven't you ever seen a concept that seems to be popular and think: "why this doesn't make a lick of sense at all to me!" You know? I've seen a few characters, not to mention shows that are not exactly believable but also, some of their characters seem just plain stupid and they still get fans. For example, I don't get how a character like "The Tick" can have any fans at all! I can't see a tick as a super hero at all, not to mention that the few things I saw about it didn't make much sense. The Tick is parody, though. You're supposed to think "wow, this is a moron and he has a stupid superhero name." It's packed to the brim with pop-culture references and send-ups, but I will admit that it does take a really geeky up-bringing to catch most of them. Otherwise, confusion is sure to happen. What I don't get are shows that consist of nothing but really pretty twenty-somethings doing really stupid things like dating three people at once and sleeping with the guy down the street. Gag me. I didn't know it was supposed to be parody honestly. I just thought it was like SpongeBob or alike, meant to entertain without having to make sense. And did you know some heroes actually started off as parodies but became so popular that they even have their own action figures and TV shows? I'm talking about the Teenage mutant Ninja Turtles! Who would have thought that a turtle could get to be such a cool hero? mrgreen

Heh... the current Ninja Turtles cartoons is one of my guilty pleasures.
I was going to say something else, but my brain just stopped due to overhearing that they're planning to make a live-action Smurfs movie...

I don't think I've seen those to be honest. I did watch the old ones with April O'neal and whatever but, I'm a bit out of the loop in that department.
WHAT!? A live action smurfs movie? I can understand why they want to make a movie about Speed Racer but, the smurfs? Come to think of it, is it just me or does a crossbreed between an elf and a smurf sound awful? rolleyes

You know I kind of hope he does just so I can laugh at him razz Myself I don't understand how a live sumrf movie would work...
And crossing an elf and a smurf would make me angry in many ways, it would just seem like those little things they call Santa's elves(which I despise).

Yeah, I'm not fond of Santa's Elves as Elves, either. Those are more akin to Gnomes, if you ask me; short guys that like to tinker and build things.
Which, hey! Gnomes! Some settings I know of claim that Gnomes began as Elf/Dwarf half-breeds. Makes sense, in a way, since they combine the magic of Elves with the industrious nature of Dwarves.

Aye, it seems there are many such stories with gnomes and most of the mmake sense. Personally I don't think gnomes are used as main important characters in books, I think for a species with such an interesting or at least unknown background, they are entirely left out.

Or relegated to bit, support characters often used for comic relief. Massive amounts could be written about them and it's just... not.
And now they're getting punted by whiny, emo Tieflings. Damn demonspawn...
