Kiyoko nodded as the group began their march again. Good, so it was only the mermaid swimming (well, she couldnt' blame her for that; she's a fish now, afterall!). It was just like a wonderful RPG come to life; she was traveling with newly-made friends on a whirlwind adventure. There's the new land, new appearances, and new abilities (although hers' still remained unclear for the moment). She had started humming a song to herself as she watched the various people talk to each other. Dreaming or not, she might as well have fun with it while it lasts.
She heard out cries from behind her, and turned around when the floating girl mentioned Rose in a scared tone. Worried, she had turned around, and starting heading a couple feet behind her. "Rose! Are you-?" but she was cut off by what she was seeing.
It was a large creature, looking as if it orgined from the bottom of hell. It was a skeletal-like creature, with two large red bulbs for eyes (for the eye sockets were missing, being a skull and all). It was wearing some sort of tattered working cloth on the bottom, although the torso remained topless. On it's hairless head he wore a helment, with some sort of bone sitcking out of each side; she couldn't tell of what animal. It was covered in blood, and wore a police badge. It carried a large weapon, although she couldn't tell what it was; there was too much blood covering it. Could no one else see this large creature?! She was paralyzed with fear for a moment, only feet from it, tears running down her face and shaking violently...
Kiyoko screamed, which unfortunately caught it's attention. Every instinct told, no, screamed her to run, but she couldn't leave the startled girl behind. That would make her a horrible ally. But she knew not of what to do, and her body refused to move....

Namine chuckled at the bunch. They are just like kids and somehow I feel like the mother hen. They all seemed to be involved in mini conversations with each other. She smiled wistfully. They should all be fine with a little guidance. Wait what am I saying? I need guidance too it's not like im fully sure whats going to happen. Namine shook her head and muttered to herself in french. "Je no comprende, certainement." Basically she stated that she did not understand..referring to the situation at hand.
Suddenly Namine heard a commotion further down the line. She couldn't rightly see as she was all the way in the lead. "What is going on?" she asked. After some time she could here people talking about what was happening. Apparently one of the girls was discovering something about herself and it seemed to be frightening to the her as well as the rest. "Hmm..I wonder what it is?" Namine decided to stay in the fore instead..she was curious but her want for water overpowered that. The river was nearby and as such Namine dove in. In an instant she was up again changed to her mermaid visage. Her face held the look of rapture as she swum around quite happily.

Anne had been walking at the front of the group, enjoying the sun, with Namine and the purple-jacket boy...what was his name, again? "I'm sorry, I'm quite sure you said your name but I can't recall it. I'm not the best with names..." She shook her head slightly.
"Oh, it's Liam. And you're Anne, right?" He smiled flirtatiously at the fire-haired girl who nodded in response. Then, there was some commotion at the back and the both looked quizically at each other.
"I'll go check on that" The girl said curtly, leaving towards the tail of the group while Liam held his hand and caught the mermaid's arm. "Sorry, but we'd better wait, or the group will split.
Reaching the end of the group, Anne passed by several shocked people, some crying, to the place where a big coffin was laid on the ground, with something...something...it was a large dragon-like thing, huge, squishy and blue, wicked eyes staring at her.
At its look, the girl felt like she was drowning, water all around her, choking her...she tried to struggle out of the stupor, and suddenly a great urge of energy flooded through her and her clothings and hair dissolved into fire, which burned also inside her eyes for a moment before she closed them. At the safe haven of darkness, she leaped, landing by the coffin. In one swift gesture, she closed it tight and finally opened her eyes, relieved...
"Merde..." She let slip, staring at the red eyes of an ogrish looking thing which was staring back at her from the trees.
About thirty of them stood there, big and bulky, with huge clubs and some spears, bows and arrows, eying the group hungrily and greedily. "Hey guys, looks like we found lunch!"

It took Kiyoko a moment before all of the emotion swept in. For a moment, she felt slightly ill, but this went away and was replaced with guilt. Not only had see been of no help, but there was good chance she gave away her position, as well as everyone elses. Why could she be of no help to anyone? She felt so useless! Perhaps she wasn't cut out for this, if she couldn't even face her own hidden fears.
"I-i'm so sorry! I...." she began to apologize, but she was cut off as she saw real enemies before her and the girl who had helped her. She then realized that she had to be brave; it was only the beginning, and everyone messes up. Her tears disappeared, and now she looked as if nothing had happened in the past few moments, until now. She took a cold expression towards the heidious (sp?) monsters; she had no wanting of "becoming lunch" put into her plans for life. This is where the whole scernairio would be put to the test; if it was a dream, she would feel no physical pain. But if it was real, then she could die. She'd fight honorably, hoping by some miracle that some power would finally show forth.

Rose was shaking, the lid tightly closed. Her ears would twitch hear and there. "S-sorry guys. False al-alert." The teenage Kitsune mumbled. It didn't take her long to figure out what she was. She had watched plenty of anime in her 'childhood'. Looking up she gulped. There were REAL enemies. Not of her imagination.
Nikol slowly turned after a few more screams. Obviously the thing hadn't only effected her but the others as well. She almost laughed at the sight of the ugly things. Hearing the voice made her skin crawl but she didn't see it as that bad. "Well talk about ugly!" She laughed able to locate them since the darkness of the trees was like her day. Able to see perfectly clear, she flew back to Rose and landed next to the girl. She was still well unaware of her weapon though that she'd soon learn about...

Star turned around and looked at the "things". Man they were ugly. Her hand instantly went for her sword, hearing their comment. "Looks like we've got company!" star said to the others who had not realized the scene yet.

"D-did you s-see that? M-maybe you should go ch-check on R-rose?"
A demon-angel girl landed directly next to Josh, all out of breath, anxiety seeping from her voice. Kiyoko turned almost instantaneously to go check on the "Rose" girl.
Josh looked to Timmy and shrugged his shoulders, "I guess she's got it under control." Soon after another screamed pealed through the tranquil forest. This only made the curiosity in the boy rise rapidly. He squirmed in his own skin to see what made somebody scream such a blood-curdling scream. By the time he had located the source of the commotion (which took surprisingly long because there weren't really many people in the group), there was a fiery-haired girl wearing a festively orange colored skirt and yellow top stooped down next to what seemed to be a coffin.
A soft rustle caught Josh's attention. It came from the direction of the coffin-girl (also known as Anne smile ) actually. Ten hulking - and mind I say ugly, green, warty, hideous looking creatures stepped into view. Silently, Josh leaned in towards Tim and asked, "Ogres?"
"Hey guys, looks like we found lunch!"
Josh scoffed at the thought of being eaten by a bunch of lumbering oafs. "I doubt that they could even catch me!" The saying held a touch of cockiness, but was mostly true; the boy had been one of the fastest kids in his school for many years and also, strangely, one of the best fighters (meaning it's strange: the difference between fleeing and fighting).

Quickly, Anne stood up and checked the group behind her. People were realizing there was trouble. She just hoped they'd be organized and fast enough to fend off the attackers. Looking at the beast closer to her, she felt her hands dissolve in fire. "I'd retreat if I were you." She hissed, but the thugs chuckled. Her temper raised, and she prepared herself to fight...which was a scary perspective, not something she was used to do. And trusting a bunch of newly-found powers didn't reassure her all that much either; but she wasn't one to give up, or to doubt herself. Her toughness and pride were what kept her standing.
"What's going on back there?" Liam was trying to get a glimpse of the rear of the group, but to no avail. Noticing he was still holding Namine, he let go. "Sorry." He murmured, as he spotted the intruders. "That doesn't look good..."

Namine heard screams and jumped from the water landing in her mortal appearance. She was older than most of them and as such thought it was her duty to defend them from anything. She ran to the back of the group. There she saw Anne and another Rose. She felt a chill rise up her spine and looked up just in time to see the creatures that had everyone in a panic. "What the hell?" Namine twirled her trident and brought it close to he body while at the same time aiming it at them. She counted and it was definetely quite a few. Namine thought quickly trying to form some plan. How many had used their powers so far? How many had weapons? Who was willing to fight? Namine wouldn't let anything happen to anyone. "Anne! Liam! Rose! Josh! Kiyoko! Star! Nikol! Timmy!" she yelled. "Be alert and on the ready...If you don't know your powers you will soon find out in our fist battle."

The mermaid leaped up into the air and landed gingerly on the ground dashing towards the back of the pack. She stood there for a while, twirled her trident and yelled orders to the pack. "Anne! Liam! Rose! Josh! Kiyoko! Star! Nikol!
How does she know everybody's' name? Has she been listening in on our conversations?
"...If you don't know your powers, you will soon find out in our first battle."
"Powers? What does she mean?" Josh said this, but instead of listening for a response, his brain was calculating a way to rid of the ogres. His eyes fell on a small path to the side of the main path; it looked like it winded back the way that they came, right to where the ogres were. "Oh, never mind. I have a plan. Come on!"
The young man made a swift tug on Tim's arm and made his way towards the small dirt road.

Liam was thankfull the older girl seemed ready for a fight. Reaching for the front of battle, he shouted "Let's go, people!" and drew a ball of shadow, tossing it at the closer ogre. To his dismay, it didn't do any harm. "Damn it" He was downcast for a moment, than he thought of something. Drawing back, he began to focus.
Anne saw the first, unsuccessful attack from Liam and decided not to let the thugs have the next tug. Leaping towards the first ogre, who was just a few feet ahead, she kicked him hard. He gasped for air, but wasn't seriously hurt. Her flames weren't penetrating their tick skin, and she was getting worried. Ducking a blow to her head, she rolled back and realized her raw strength and fire weren't enough. "I need a weapon...something...but I don't know how to handle one..." Suddenly, a bright flame by her side caught her attention; a long shape of flame formed and then dissolved, revealing a gold quarterstaff about as tall as she was, covered in exquisite drawings. "Now we're talking!" She grabbed it and returned to her feet. The battle had started.

Kiyoko heard Namine take charge of the situation, and told the group to be alert and fight. Seeing as now the battle had begun, she saw one of the ogres run towards her. She was calm on the outside, but inside she began to panic slightly. Ok, quite a bit. Oh shoot! C'mon, a weapon of some sort would be good. Mabye blasting the guy, freezing him, something. Anything...
Before her thought could be finished, she saw now that the orb was glowing several colors in a row really quickly, as if a routee wheel, when she unconsiously pointed it towards the ogre. It stopped on the color orange, and she concentrated on the advancing ogre....
VOOOOMM! ((lol, bad sound effects. xd ))
She was thrown backwards by the force as a huge orange beam escaped from the orb, and hitting the monster straight in the chest. She skidded but didn't fall as she saw what had happened; the ogre hit a tree and was now unconsious. "What...was that?" she asked in wonder, as she saw that the orb was back to normal. Was this the staff's power, or her own?

Namine was not a fighter by nature but her instincts for protecting the youngsters changed her. Not to mention she wasn't just Namine anymore she was a mythical creature. She may not have cool powers like everyone but she knew this trident was her weapon and as such she should be efficient with it. Little did she know the magic the weapon contained. Namine rushed one of the ogre's and struck with her spear. One of the other's moved to attack her and she parried it, jumping back in the next instant. "Damn..this is not going to be so easy." She found herself getting angrier as they seemed to laugh at their attacks. Namine's trident began to glow and she instinctively pointed it at them. The energy burst forth in a strong blast. She was caught unaware by its strength and ended up cutting the ground right before the ogre's, in the same fashion a knife cuts through butter. Namine was awed for a bit and all she muttered was "Wow.." The ogres' were not happy at what they saw and a few advance in her direction.
