If the thought of actually having a bedroom wasn't enough to make her glow, the idea of having a bed and furniture certainly was. It was crazy, how far she'd come since sleeping in the meadow that morning.
"Thank you so much," Diana managed to fight off the urge to squeal, and kept her voice at a reasonable pitch. Then, she gave a happy sort of sigh, released Hank from her tight embrace and darted through the vines to the other side.
Vaguely, she wondered if it was all a dream. Certainly, it was too good to be true. Nobody was meant to be this happy all at once. Especially not her.
She pinched her arm, and grinned at the quick flash of pain before letting go. So, this was real. Excellent.

Smiling as she retreated into the side cave that would be her room, Hank chuckled and went to work. He had to go find some heather and some of that delightful mint grass for Diana.
As he made mental checklists of things that would need accomplished, Hank popped his head through the vine screen and grinned at the little female.
"I should be back with bedding for you in perhaps an hour. Feel free to play more with the Singing Vine if you like or help yourself to more drink whilst I'm off."
As he headed for the cave's entrance, he rather thought he'd look for some flowers for her too. Females liked flowers, didn't they?

Diana had never been, no was she about to become a high maintenance type of girl. Hank's kindness and attention was more than she could ever remember receiving in her life. She was gushing all sorts of wonderful emotions.
It occurred to her that she ought to go and help him retrieve the necessary materials for her bed, but she was struck by another bit of inspiration. He was doing something wonderful for her, so it would only make sense for her to try and return the favor.
"Hurry back," she called merrily from inside her brand new bedroom. Once she was sure that he'd left, the little female darted back out into the main cave and began a little exploration of her own.

Paws full of sweet smelling heather and grasses,Hank hummed softly to himself as he neared his home, now Diana's home as well. In his mouth, he carried a veritable bouquet of chocolate roses and sugar spun daisies. It had been hard work finding everything, but he felt certain the effort was worth it.
Entering the cave carefully, he allowed his eyes to adjust from brigth daylight to the soft, luminescent gloom of the cave's interior. Setting his bundled bedding down, he took the flowers from his mouth and looked around for Diana.
"I'm back! And I have enough bedding to sleep an army," he called out laughing.

Hank had returned sooner than she'd thought he would. Fortunately, she had had enough time to prepare everything she'd hand in mind. The little female Numa sat comfortably at a table, decorated with glowing moss that cast a slightly haunting light upon the food she'd managed to collect from outside. Bits and pieces of black licorice, red licorice and cinnamon buns (from cinnamon flowers) were arranged specifically on both ends of the table.
"That didn't take you very long," Diana said conversationally and smiled brightly at the larger male Numa from where she sat. She eyed the bouquet of chocolate roses and sugar spun daisies in his mouth. It was incredibly sweet of him to bring those back for her.

Smiling, Hank's eyes went from her to the decorated table, back to her and finally to the flowers that were just outside of his line of vision. Feeling suddenly tongue tied, the brawny male carefully set the mass of bedding on the floor where it wouldn't be ruined. Then, blushing so hard that he was surely glowing, he took the flowers from his mouth and held them out to her.
"Thereareforyou," he stuttered and ran the words together out of sheer nervousness. "Ipickprettyflowers!"
Mentally berating himself for acting like a fool, Hank hoped that she would forgive him his momentary lapse in coherency.

He was cute. She watched through a pair of shining violet colored as he held out the bouquet to her. Something uncomfortably warm and entirely unfamiliar forced it's way into her throat. Diana smiled nervously and then opened her mouth to respond to his run together sentence, but found it difficult to form any words. It didn't matter that Hank was suddenly incoherent- she'd apparently lost her voice.
There was an intense moment of silence, in which she could only stare at the flowers in his hands. She was painfully aware of the heat and the blood in her cheeks as she reached out to take them from him, with a shaky and unsure smile on her face.
"Thank you," she cleared her throat and gestured for him to sit down across from her, "they're beautiful. I love them."
This was a little crazy; how fast their friendship was blossoming. They'd met only a couple of hours ago, after all, and he'd already invited her into his home and gifted her with flowers. Yesterday? She wouldn't have dreamed she'd have a bed to sleep in and he'd gone out and collected the materials needed to make her one.

For one painfully embarrassing moment, Hank had thought that the loss of his wits had caused Diana to rethink her decisin to stay. Then she thanked him. And the brightness of her smile illuminated the cave.
Sitting where she indicated, Hank simply stared at the repast she'd prepared. Why, he hardly ever took the time to really prepare a meal. And to see one so beautifully laid out! Why, he'd almost have thought he'd become part of a fairytale. If fairytales were not so blatantly, painfully fake, of course.
"You're very welcome, Diana," he tried to reply casually. "I'm enormously pleased that you like them."

During the short span of time it had taken him to collect enough sweet grass for her bed, Diana had explored his charming little home to the peek of her curiosity (of course, within appropriate borders of whatever manners she possessed) and had thus become very well acquainted with most of the space. Without a word, she got up from her chair and collected a little plastic pitcher which she filled with water and then placed carefully in the center of the table, between them.
She tried not to look Hank in the eye as she slipped the flowers he'd brought her into the pitcher and returned to her seat. After that, the only logical thing to do was eat. She hesitated before curling her hand around one of the cinnamon buns on her late. It was difficult for her to think about eating when a number of emotions she'd never felt before were churning around in her gut.
Somehow, she managed to find her voice again.
"How could I not? Hank, you've been nothing but sweet and kind to me. I don't know how I can ever repay you. It'll be amazing to sleep in an actual bed tonight."
