The three seemingly hostless muses would swiftly return tot he necklace, all three swirling around it protectively as it dangles back and forth in her hands.
"Hey, careful will you? It may not look it but this thing's pretty delicate. I don't know what'll happen to me if you break it so watch yourself!" The voice then calls in a panic.

Okay, this was starting to get weird. "Will somebody please explain what's going on here?" She didn't get it. Whoever was casting the spell to make the rock talk was doing a good job.
'But, Mo, It's not a spell,' said Clef.
"And how would you know, Clef?"
'Because, I've felt magic everytime you've cast a spell, and while this thing is enchanted, the spellwork isn't fresh. More than that, it's ancient.'
"Well, then, what is the explanation?"
This time Joy piped up. 'Somebody's in there. I can sense their emotions, They're not a threat.'
Morgan eyed the gemstone, now wishing she'd never picked it up. "Well, obviously you can talk. Why don't you explain all of this to me." It wasn't a question.

Both Tanjo and Zangar flit about in glee with the explanation given to the other two, for they had just about hit the nail right on the head. Barelai still hovered close to the stone, still seeming not so excited.
"Hmm....perceptive..." He answers merely.
A light sigh comes from the stone in answer to her. "Do I really have to go on and explain everything? I mean, after telling the first twelve people I get sick of hearing my own sob story you know....and need I remind you those first twelve people existed seven centuries ago?"

((Ok, thank you for telling us. Now if only I had remembered sweatdrop . I'm sorry everyone, I was gone over the weekend. And another note, the characters aren't supposed to be able to understand exactly what the muses are saying. They may be able to understand what they're trying to get across, but it's technically a whole differant language))
Clink watched the necklace with amazment, and had to use all his restraint to not drop the one he was holding and steal that one. He had never seen a metal object do that before! He rushed back to where his master was haggling with a merchant over a dress or something. She gave him a small smile of acknowledgment before returning her attention to the man in front of her.
"Willow, Cringe! Guess what!!!" he chimed delightedly, ringing at an almost painful pitch.
Willow sighed heavily, "What is is, Clink? I do hope you aren't making that awful racket over a piece of jewelery."
The small metal muse blinked, "How did you know?" he quickly shook himself, knowing this wouldn't get him anywhere, "It's a special jewelery though. It learned how to talk!"
"Oh boy. I'll go see this "talking" rock of his I suppose. Someone has to explain the actual reason behind it. Whatever that is," Cringe mumbled, sliding out of the purse.

Turning into the alley, Alyrianna could hear the shouting merchant. She walked towards him clutching her bag. Her failing vision did her no good in a situation like this, she kept walking towards him, even though she could not see the product. Finally coming into view were small baskets of assorted nuts. The price was right, and nuts could be easily kept in the mound of hay Alyrianna called her home. "'ello girly, what can I do ya' for?" The merchant asked, in perhaps too much of a loving tone. He smelt of sour gin, and rotting cabbage. Alyrianna opened her bag and retrieved the few coins and showed them to the man. "What can get I for this?" She said in her confused language. "You can get almost any-ting in this worl' wit that face." The merchant said putting his chubby greasy hand on her face. Alyrianna looked away, she had always been timid. "Please don't this do." She whispered. His stench made her release a subtle cough. "Do what? This?" With that short statement, he furthered tortured the starving girl by pulling her closer to his short and stubby figure. This gesture was totally inappropriate, and even though she was desperate she was not that desperate. "Get off me!" She raised her voice, now pushing away his grubby hands. "Don't be such a prude, deary. It isn't becoming." Said he. Then turning away, resuming his chant. "Go get ya' food somewhere else." He said. Spitting at the ground near her feet.

Alyrianna ran back out of the alley, running into a passerby. Some vulgar terms were screamed before the person pushed her and kept walking. Alyrianna's eyes began to swell with tears. The three figures that rested in the back part of her hood all assumed their jobs in comforting her by storking her hair. Alyrianna had never been so confused in any one moment, this bluster of action that had never been seen in the time that she had been in this town confused her. She just wanted to disappear. For a few seconds she stood motionless in the middle of the street, the surplus of people weaving to miss her. The world did not care about Alyrianna. If she lived or died, if she starved, or if she got sick. No one cared. Suddenly like a ton of bricks the reality of the situation hit her. She realized that she had to keep going. She veered to the side of the street where a small pub was located. She ducked inside, she wanted to survive.

"Okay," Morgan said slowly. "I have a job to do, so I guess you're going to have to come with me. Don't try anything weird." Then she fastened the cord around her neck. "And, please, don't say anything while there are other people around. I don't need some wizard dragging me off to his lab." She made her way back to the King's Gem.
Inside, she spotted the little foreign girl she'd seen before. The poor child had to be starved. Morgan approached Pim. "That little raggamuffin there is with me. I'll be paying for her meals and room. Now, please bring her some soup and bread and something to drink. The poor thing's half-starved to death." she dropped a small money pouch on the counter. "Also, I shall be starting soon. I'd just like a small drink before I do."
She drank her pint of ale, then climed up on the raised platform on the corner, and started singing. It was a foreign song, from the country she guessed the girl was from. If she was right, Morgan hoped she'd sing along.

"No problem." He'd simply answer. "Tanjo, Barelai, and Zangar will come with us of course. Barelai, I want you to use your illusion magic to keep you, Tanjo, and Zangar out of sight; others will become suspicious if they see this girl walking around with so many muses."
Upon his command, Barelai would do as such; A black mist cloud shrouds the three muses and, just like that, they were gone from sight. He'd stay silent just as he was asked but kept watch and awareness of his surroundings. He was glad that his current holder went out of her way to help the seemingly homeless child when he himself could not; last thing he needed now was a guilt trip.

Alyrianna's pupils had hardly any time to adjust to this dim place, before she was being seated to eat soup and bread. She supposed that girl had paid for her to have food and a room. She looked over at her, nodding in thanks. The girl began to sing, a fimiliar melody, that Alyrianna knew. She hummed along with her, to shy to sing aloud.

Two more foreign ballads were sung. Then, one of the patrons cried, 'Sing something closer to home!' Morgan nodded and began one of her favorites, a catchy upbeat tune that soon had most of the patrons singing the chorus along with her. Afterwards, she told a couple of stories, then news of places elswhere in Rombren. after that, she sang two final songs, during which Ric, Clef and even little Joy engaged in acrobatics. Then she was done for the night.
She was eager to go up to her room and examine her new piece of jewelry, but she had to see to the girl first. Besides, it would seem odd if the ministrel finished her job then vanished. She sat by the ragged girl. "Hello. Uh, I uh, payed for your food and for you to stay here for the next few days. I mean, you look like you could use a few days under a roof with good food in your belly. When you're ready, you're sharing a room with me. I had them put an extra bed in there. Room seven." she stopped talking and looked into the plate of food set before her.
"Thank you," she said to the waitress.

"I thank you." Alyrianna said, this sentance was so sincere. She took a spoonful of the hearty soup. "How I can pay back?" The confused sentances returned. "Sorry, I...err...so not good english with."

Benkei would yet still remain silent, assuming that he'd scare off Morgan's little companion. Unbeknownst to the others except Benkei himself, Tanjo and Zangar would start to circle around and some distance away from Alyrianna to attain a closer look at her. Barelai hovered close beside Morgan, he and the others cloaked by his illusionary magic. They had to take care not to communicate to one another so as not to blow their cover.

Alyrianna had almost enhaled the food given to her. It felt so good to have something warm in her stomach. She wiped her mouth on the edge of her cloak, then putting down her hood her muses were exposed to hardly anyone. "I be will, look for job...and you get back pay." The broken language had become almost annoying to her ears. How she longed to pick one language, and give all her attention, speaking it with grace and fluidness. Yet, who would she speak this foreign toungue to. No one.
