gratz =P, the sword you can buy from AH.

I haven't seen it on Destro before, but I imagine it'll be around 200-400g. Destro's economy = hell.

tis usually around 300g on my realm too, aerie peak europe.

/boggle

I think I need to ship you guys some swords. They're about 110g at most on Nathrezim o_O I got mine for 80g lol.

yea prices on my realm are really ******** up.... especially twink items they seem to be twice the price than any other server =s but only seem to be so high scince BC came out, i remember buying some blues from ah when i was leveling ma pally at lvl 29 for about 20g each, now when i look to buy stuff for ma twink they always seem to be like 100g, and thats on a good day...

if i could be anything id be a machine gun

I'm having quite a bit of fun as a tankadin in 29 WSG. My little blood elf doesn't have the 3,000 HP that some of the twinks have, but she's sitting on 1.5k HP / mana and 3600 armor.

Fighting two Alliance palys at once, 29 and 25, I killed the 29, then the 25, by the time I got done with the 25 the 29 had respawned and got back and jumped on me again. Took him down twice in that fight.

The most important thing I have is Mana Tap. If I go OOM I can still bubble + first aid, but being able to recover close to 300 mana and silence the room for two seconds saves me daily.

cause every time i look at you im sorry i dont own one

The one gripe I have with Blizzard is the lack of readily available pally tanking gear. There's a shitload of warrior gear, but where's the int/mana and spell damage on it? That's right, they didn't bother to add it in. They clearly want to give pallies the chance to tank, but then they don't bother to amend the armor that's out there. Completely stupid if you ask me.

(Example: Coughs, take a look if you're leveling a shammy for alliance's side... all the quest rewards that are mail items are for hunters... they didn't bother to fix it for them either.)

Actually the itemization isn't that bad really. It really depends what you are doing with your tank. It's really easy to build a SD set XD I have over 300 spell damage in my trash gear. o.O I wear almost all warrior gear just for avoidance and stam with a spell damage weapon. Only problem I have with blizzards and paladin tanks is on alliance side we have SoV ... Damnit I want seal of blood.

SoB (apt acronym) is bad for tanking. Semi-alright for tankadins soloing. SoV is awesome for tanking. I'd rather have SoV.

I'm thisclose to getting my Blacksmithing high enough for Felsteel Gloves & Helm. It would be cheaper to buy them & sell my felsteel bars, but... I want 375 BSing too. ;_; Easiest (HA!) way to get to 375 is making tons of Felsteel Gloves. Poo.

Actually SoV is so so... SoR is better than it x.x Only reason I was SoB is I wouldn't have to rely on SD as much for threat XD

I've never been mistreated because I use a pally, in fact, most of the time I'm chosen over a warrior.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 06, 2007 8:44 am

My pally at this moment has about 10.5k of hp unbuffed and only 5.2k of mana unbuffed. Considering that I have to build threat through the use of my spells(skills) constantly - I would appreciate having a hell of a lot more manna than that.

As I’m aware there’s better geared SET items that will give both mana and stam as well as defense, but that takes a long time to build. A.K.A raiding, pvping and stuff.... and you’re NOT always guaranteed that 1. It’ll drop on a run and 2. If you’ll be able to either out-roll or DKP someone else for an item you need.

Current rewards should focus on adding INT to these Stam and defense items as well as spell attack power. Otherwise, it’s just a pally wearing prot warrior stuff and even though it can help us to tank, it would be extremely more efficient if it was geared to a Prot pally’s requirement instead.

Are you referring to quest reward gear? There's a whole green set of tanking gear that's from the NS quests with the stats you described x_X

Greens don’t take you far if you’re trying to tank for Kara. (Aside from the fact no one will take you to Kara if you show up in greens only.)

Eh you said something about rewards and there's barely any blue tanking gear from them. XD For Kara I'd just wear pure warrior gear with spell damage gear. The amount of damage you take at first you'll never run out of mana. It only becomes a pain once you hit the 14k health unbuffed with huge avoidance x_x

On a completely off topic ramble, I wonder why we (pallies) never got the 15 minute hearth stone like the shammies did.

Yep, that's us palys. :3 Spell dmg on your shield/weapon, & that's pretty much it.

I really don't see how you need more int though. ._. Int is pretty worthless to a Prot paly, unless you've already met all the tanking requirements & can somehow eek it in on your set (I'd rather just have more spell dmg than int though). I haven't stepped foot into a Heroic, much less a raiding instance, but I usually have 75-100% mana at the end of a pull, mostly from mana regained from heals, & using my seals/judgments wisely. On medium to large pulls, I open with AS, drop Consecration twice in succession, I usually try & keep JoL or JoW on a couple targets, SoR on me, & tab through them, mostly using only HS. JoW on a target can really help out when you're rolling with an Enhancement shammy, or even priests/mages can get the benefit, as it procs with wanding.

I'm trying to think what the spell name would be. 'Ohshi- I'm Late for Church!' xd

Well, I see no harm in having both spell damage and int as well as stamina and defense.

While Blessing of Wisdom and Seal of Wisdom are great to use while soloing, I don’t use them while tanking in a run or raid (unless there’s another pally on the run). To be an efficient tank you want to build your threat as soon as possible and to keep it growing so that your party members can go all out on dps and heals without fear of pulling aggro off you. (Your dedicated healer should be healing you which will return enough mana to continue to tank. (At least this is the theory - doesn’t always ring true if you have a sh***y healer or someone who isn’t on the ball with healing))

Avenger Shield for the pull, Consecration to spill onto the mob to keep them focused on me, Holy Shield for added threat and defense as well as Righteous Fury being on at all times. Sanctuary Blessing reduces damage and gives threat also. (If you can’t Avenger Shield for the pull, let someone else you trust pull and then use avenger shield when they’re close enough to pull the mob off the other puller.)

I will judge Crusader onto the mob - this increases any holy damage done to it - and then use (Seal of Righteous for the initial judgment) and then Seal of Vengeance repetitively to continually raise my threat. I can easily build over twice the amount of threat my party members gain. (Never forget to put Blessing of Salvation on the party members as every little bit helps.)

The only time wisdom should be out on the mob is if there’s a second pally in the group.

Now, I’ve tanked many instances including Heroic Mech and I’ve run Kara as the off-tank successfully doing this combination which is where I’m basing this all from. I often run with my fiancee.

Paladins don't need too much int if we're taking damage. As long as a tankadin is geared for the instance they will take good enough damage to always have mana. I did ZA last night and I never ran out of mana o_o with my 4.3 k mana pool lol Int only helps for instances a tankadin over gear with avoidance where they won't be hit and won't have the sweet mana return sad

I love the new itemization of the gear though from the badges... It's high stam , avoidance and some spell damage thrown on. I think the belt and boots have spell hit on them too <3 I think the only int on my gear is on my sword, and shoulders... That's about 30 int x.x
