I like the game subforum, without it all the lame little word games tend to slip away. If not maybe some sort of map sticky that actually gets updated and links you to all the games. I can just imagine the horror of the front page being constantly full of those easy-to-post-in games like word association and AAY games and discussion being pushed back too fast as well. I think there needs to be some more serious roleplays and that if they are good that they shouldn't then be moved off to their own guilds where they die.
I kind of wish Gaia would change the subforum format for guilds to be more like the ones that tell you who posted last and when... but if we can't have that some serious functional layout changes need to be made to the guild.

I agree, the Gaia developers should have put that kind of functionality into sub forums a long time ago. It would make sub forums a bit easier to check at a quick glance, rather than having to click in to each one to see what has been updated and want has not.
But the guild can't do much about that. We need instead to yell at the Gaia developers for that fix!
I think the guild map would take care of the really popular/landmark threads. Then some of the sub forums could be eliminated and the active threads there could go to the main forum instead.
The map needs some updating so it is more current. That would help too.

I'll check in the Captain's Guild to see if "Sub-Forum change notifications" is on the list or has already been suggested. If not, I'll post it!
-Tsuji
EDIT: It wasn't on any of the lists in the suggestions thread there, so I posted it. Here's hoping!

Basically it would just be something for everyone to think about, but a simple "post-for-gold" type subforum for "what are you listening to right now" kinds of topics, word games, AAY games, even a place for random polls would be maybe a good thing so that the RPs are separated from the other threads. I don't know if I like the idea of a strictly RP subforum because that lowers activity or moving them back to the main page because then they can fall down super-easily. Either way it kind of sucks.

Well, I'm not sure about how to do it without adding another sub-forum (which is an idea that I find most distasteful) but a Spam-Can (for games, chat-threads, etc) and an IDD/Dedicated-RP thread? When you think about it, a RP is sort-of an "in-depth game". That would keep the gold whores in one subforum, keep form cluttering up the main page, and keep the slower moving IDD-threads and RPs from disappearing. Of course, it is an additional sub-forum which isn't a pleasant thought... Unless you replace the marketplace.-Tsuji

Hmm RPs in the IDD subforum... It's an interesting prospect...but, I can't help but think that most people would have a problem with that... There are after all a decent amount of RPs...and I wonder if they would sort of take over the subforum and drown out the IDD threads...
As for this posting for gold thing...hmm I'm not sure I like the sound of that...I wouldn't care to see the games all mixed in with threads like "Hahahaha turkey brains! I ish teh uber random 1!!!" As for the what are you listening to threads...well, I've really only seen the one...and that doesn't seem like too big of a problem to me... And yes...either way this does suck...it's not fun trying to seperate things like this...

I like how most of the guild is, you all know how I am. The only thing that really gets to me is stupid people who can't read and post s**t that doesn't belong. Having something to make sure new members aren't stupid pre-kindergarden rejects is something I'm always up for! If you need help thinking something up I'd be glad to help! 3nodding
I think a "spam forum" is a good idea, because people don't seem to know what "don't advertise here" means and do it anyways. You might as well give them a place to do it. And it's not like anyone really needs to go there unless they're interested is seeing whats there... or mods, because they have to make sure there's no bad s**t there.
I say keep all the "posting for gold" or "bump" Threads out! Thats what the chatterbox is for and it's only a few clicks away! I don't feel like wasting my time on something that LOOKS like it could be a good topic, go there, and find out it's s**t. The last thing I want to see is this guild turn into a chatterbox. I'm sure it's hard to do, but I think everyone has done a good job of not letting it become that so far!
I think thats about all I have to say. Oh, I always liked the IDD forum!

Hm...RP in IDD? I don't think I would like that razz .
Back then, the IDD was some sort of refuge for me. I didn't like the lounge very much because of the chattyness. So...I found the IDD slowness rather positive.

So...I found the IDD slowness rather positive. I though the IDD went too slow and ended up with spammy topics in it too much anyway. I kind of wish that this was more like the message boards I used to use where you could make members only type subforums that you had to get permission to use (it was for the 18+ fanfiction). I think the Can-o-Spam subforum is an awesome idea though, things like "post what you're listening to right now" and all those AAY and word games could go there. I also think the introduce yourself thread and the birthday and contact thread could be amalgamated into one thread.

Ah well, but those spammy things, while they filter out the gold whores, they also drain the users from the main page... But we can't just turn the lounge into the CB <_<...
Hm, that merge is a good idea...especially since the BDay thread is getting reworked. Hmhmhm...

We could have one of these sugestion threads have new polls for us to vote on sugested topics. For instance the memoral threads stick is rarely updated so the poll for one week could be on that. Then the next week the poll could be on a different topic.

That sounds like a good idea. Better way to get a larger response from other guild members too. I know some people who aren't sure they'll be taken seriously or are shy and aren't comfortable posting in these types of threads, but polls are anonymous. So people can vote for the changes the want or do not want. Then the mods can use that data to decide what changes they want to consider implementing.
