Epitaph Orealis

PostPosted: Wed Oct 10, 2007 6:32 pm

Hearing the calling of the Unknown Regions, Orealis headed for the door.
"I'm sorry, but I must go..."

OOC: I'm really not on Gaia enough to keep up. I'm out.

((It's sad to see you go Man, I hope you find some fun!))

"Wait! Orealis...", Reimos yelled. But it was too late. Orealis was gone. "This is the second time I've seen this happen. Some Jedi think about something, and leave. I have no clue why, but I'm sure that he'll be fine" Then Reimos turned to face the padawan. "Excuse me?", he repeated "Become a jedi? This was told to you when you were accepted. And a thousand times over. Why do you not remember how you become a jedi?" Reimos stood up and walked over to the padawan. Casting a shadow over the boy, "You should know that you first need to be accepted by a Master, which then you need to train with him or her until they think that you are ready. Then they will present you to the council, and they will decide if you are ready or not", Reimos said, finishing up. He ushered the padawan out of the door, and closed it. Then walked over to the table, and sat back down in his chair. "So, we all agree on the plan? If so then preparations should be made for our leave"

When he was in the air, he had the chance to head back to the compound and attack it. Swooping over the top of the small city, he fired two clusters of missiles at the run-down building. But he quickly realized the mistake he had made. Shooting for space, he checked his scanner. Sure enough there were five enemy ships on his tail. The first one came up and past him. Avex fired five shots at the ship, but all of them missed. Then his ship shook wildly. He had been hit from behind, and one of his two engines were down. Finally making it to space, he quickly put in coordinates for Talasea. Then pushed his ship a bit further, and it shot into hyperspace.

Monkuta nodded in agreement with Reimos, but still found his method a bit quick to deal with boys. "We should find a shuttle. They're fast enough for a job like this, and inconspicuous enough to keep us from getting shot down before we get anything done." He fiddled with the hilt of his lightsaber under his gray robes, smoothing his thumb around it as he spoke. He didn't realize he was doing it, but it comforted him.

Anwa nodded. "I suppose it's as good a plan as any. I certainly don't have anything better. Just one thing, though; with Orealis gone, that leaves me by myself to investigate Ord Mantell and Ryloth, ant three of you still going to Taanab. Do you want to keep it like that or change things up a little? Also, what exactly are we looking for when we get there? Just for clarification's sake."

"Good Idea Anwa, I'll go with you. Then We'll go to the secondary planets as scheduled, then we'll all meet on Coruscant for the final investigation", Reimos said. He grabbed his datapad and put it in his pocket. "We are looking for any signs of this group, and following them up. If we happen to find a base, we will make sure to note where it is. So that we can later make sure that it is 'taken care of'. Also I agree with taking shuttles, and we have some in the academy. So we should get started as soon as possible", he said in a hintful tone. Grabbing his gear that he had set on the floor. He went over and opened the door, waiting for everyone to file out.

((g2g for a doctors appointment, be back in a bit))

"Wonderful!" Xeron bellowed. With a loud clap of his hands, Xeron straightened his robes and made for the door. "I've been in this place for less then an hour and already I can't wait to get out. I believe that that's a new record!" he chided to the others as he neared the door. Xeron couldn't wait to get out of the stuffy academy, and back to the freedom of the outside world.
"Now if you need me I have some stuff to pack away, and some stuff to pack before we leave."

Monkuta chuckled quietly at Xeron's complaints, but collected himself. He returned to his subtle smile, following out the door in suit. "There's one other things I have to check on before we leave as well. I remember where the docking is around here," he said, then paused. "Mostly," he amended and walked out the door towards the room he had slept in as a youngling in the academy. "I'll meet you there, nonetheless!" he shouted behind him.

Meanwhile, a man in brown armor and a brown cloak- that was old and almost falling apart, was waiting near the shuttles...
"So... He told me to wait here, and find the Jedi... that they should 'come to me...' Man... I know I owe him, but... he could've been less cryptic..." He grabbed one of the Vibro-Swords at his side, making sure it was still there. "Hmph... at least he paid me in advance..." He continued, and leaned on a nearby wall...

"Ok", Reimos said to the Jedi that were leaving. "So Anwa, are you ready to head to Ord Mantell? If you want I can get us a shuttle ready while you pack your things?" Reimos stepped out of the doorway, allowing Anwa to pass by.

Kaen walked into the cockpit of the small Space Cruiser he was on. "Set course to Ord Mantell." He looked at the boy piloting this ship through the eye holes of his mask.

"But why Ord Mantell Master? I thought we were heading to Coruscant." replied Kisuke turning in his chair to look at his teacher. He was a strange being...but he was probably one of the smartest people in the galaxy.

"I have my reasons." Kaen said to his Padawan, "If all goes well we will be heading to Coruscant in a little bit..."

"Understood Master." Kisuke said putting in the coordinates. In the past 2 years he learned not to question his master's strange motives. He could be a harsh teacher at times but he was usually very kind...and the best at what he did. Kisuke had learned so much in the past two years.

Once he saw they had sent course for Ord Mantell Kaen left the room. "It's been so long..." he said. Kaen was wearing Jedi robes and his mask...nothing moe then he usually wore. His sleeves were long enough to conceal the spikes on his arms...but the ones on his knees protruded from his pants. He had two small strange looking lightsaber hilts on the right side of his belts. They weren't ordinary Lightsabers...they were Tonfa Lightsabers...as far as he knew he was one of few to ever use this type of saber...it wasn't common...but in his hands they were deadly.

Monkuta stood at the door to his old room. He wasn't sure why he didn't want to go in yet; perhaps he was savoring the moment. The jedi took a breath and palmed the door. He chuckled. His print still worked which meant no one had slept here since him. The door swung into the wall with a quick gust of air and Monkuta stepped into the room. He hit his head on the ceiling. "Ow... I forgot how low the ceilings were in these rooms." He turned and looked at his old bed, but not for long. What he wanted was under the bed. He ducked down - with slight difficulty - and removed a footlocker from the floor under the bed and set it on top. Monkuta opened the latch and lifted the lid. It was just as he left it. One by one he took each item out. "My training saber, my old datapad, my old robes..." These were more memories than necessities to him, but the thing he really wanted was buried under all of it. He reached down and felt the cube at the bottom of the container. He pulled it out and smiled at it. This held the message his mother had given him before he was sent to the academy. Monkuta sighed and pocketed the device. He put all of the rest of the items back into the footlocker, placed it under the bed, and left, headed towards the shuttles.

((sorry, bit of a long post))

After a few hours in orbit around Corillia, the Jaspyn and its escort vessels where in between the planet and its moon, Talus. Throughout the Jaspyn crew members took regular shifts at their monitoring stations. The stations listed off data collected from the surounding area, listened to comm frequencies, and ran diagnostics of the ship's functions.
In the ship's mess hall, Commander Todrias was sitting at a side table with his second in command, Captain Eriss Renc. They were conversing about the going ons in the centrel space, and other things about their duties.
"Why do they insist on us doing so many sweeps of this area?" Eriss asked him, "Pirates haven't come anywhere near this area in years."
"All I know is what command tells me. It is just routine checks, security protocols, that kind of thing," Todrias replied blankly.
"If it were simply security protocol, why send a command frigate and half a dozen escort cruisers?" she said continuing with the questions.
"Are YOU questioning orders, Captain? We are officers, we get orders and we follow them," he stated.
"Well, uh, it was never my intensions to," she stammered quickly.
"Good. There will be no talking like that on my ship," he said with a sharp tone, "Now back to what we were talking about. The, uh what was it? Oh yeah, we were talking about the pod tournaments on the inncore worlds."

Xeron left from the room, and quickly made his way to his quarters. Once there he packed away a few artifacts he had collected while on Durbrillion. When everything was settled he closed the door to the small room he stayed in while at the academy, and started off to the shuttle bay. "Ah, no matter what I say about this place, its still nice to come home every once in a while," he thought silently as he passed many old friends and students who greeted him kindly.
"Ecuse me Master Ronny, would you like to come play some of the training games with us?" asked a young boy who was followed by a group of other younglings. "Ah I would enjoy nothing more then to join in. But I have business I need to see to first. How about when I get back?" Xeron replied gently. "Oh, OK," said the youngling, sounding rather disappointed.
"What? You leaving again!?" blurted a passing Jedi. "Afraid so," Xeron replied quickly to the man. He sped up as he headed for the academy's shuttle bay.

Anwa smiled at Reimos. "That would be nice, thank you. I haven't had much of a chance to unpack, so most everything I need is still in my bag. I just need to switch out a few things. I'll meet you down in the shuttle bay shortly." As she walked to her room, Anwa shook her head. 'This is one part of Jedi life that I don't much care for. When things get busy, you hardly get a chance to catch a breath before they shove you back out the door. Hopefully I'll be able to get a little rest in the shuttle.'

"Ok then", Reimos said. He closed the door to the debriefing room. Then he headed left down the hallway. The shuttle bay hangar wasn't that far away, but then again the academy wasn't that big either. When he got there, several ships were already gone. Luckily there were still two shuttles left. Reimos went up to the first one, and opened the cockpit door. The two pilot seats looked fairly comfortable, and they should be for a long journey. He hopped into the first seat, and got the ship started up. He noticed that the shuttle didn't have any weapons emplacements, which made him feel a little uncomfortable going through potentially hostile territory. But he dismissed it.
