Raistlin shrugged lightly "Sounds fine to me" he said with a wry grin "I cant remember the last time i was on the sea" he said gazing out before them

"Ah, ye be missing much, the sea is a beautiful creature" Davey walked to the shore wading in a short distance so the sea splashed against his knees, he drew in a deep breath of the salt air then spotted something in the water partially covered by the sand, he bent over and picked it up letting the waves wash the sand off of it, it was a golden and jeweled broach, a crab in shape, rubies for its body emeralds for its eyes and diamonds for its joints, in all it was about half the size of Davey's hand "If ye treat the sea with respect and love she will reward ye in kind" he showed the broach to Raist "She has many treasures in her bosom which she will divulge to ye if only ye keep a keen eye, sharp wits, and respect of her power" Davey pocketed the broach he knew just the person to whom he would give it to, perhaps she had sent it to him for such a purpose?

Raistlin's eyebrow raised at the jeweled crab, then a smirk grew along his maw. He chose to stay out of the waters, not wanting to get his robes wet. They got awefully heavy when they were wet. "The sea is not the only thing needing respect" he said with a light smirk. "Nothing should be underestimated. Sea, Air, creature alike. Everything has power" He stuck a slender hand into a pocket and closed his fist around something, pulled out his hand and held out his closed fist for Davey to see. He closed his eyes and mumbled something. Flames began to poke between the mages fingers, and when Raistlin opened his hand, a small fire dragon hovered above his palm. The little creature was made entirely of fire, just shaped like a dragon. It flapped wings and breathed more fire, letting out a crackly roar. For the first time since meeting Davey Jones, a look of joy passed over Raistlin. The sea was Davey's mistress, and magic, was the mages.

"Aye that be true... oy that be quite the cute little spell ye got there" Davey leaned a bit closer to get a better look "no doubt you can make one larger than a house eh? Come in might handy some time" This wasn't Davey's first thought, (which was that it was a silly parlor trick to impress the ladies but wouldn't work on him) he knew better than to try his luck in case Raist really could make one so large, best keep on his good side, never know when such a 'friend' might come in handy

Riastlin smirked, and chuckled lightly, closing his fist and dismissing the flame dragon. "I have many things that come in handy" he said with another grin. If Raistlin had wanted to impress Davey, he wouldnt have done a flame dragon, he would have done something more, monumental. But luckily, he wasnt a mind-reader, so nothing came up.

"Aye I bet ye have" Davey's eyes looked to the sea he too had many things that came in handy out there waiting for his call but Raist need not know that yet, he then turned and continued on down the beach, the waves splashing against him while dish danced around his feet and sea stars and sea anenomies crawled towards him and up his legs, a smile even spread across his face, it was clear that Davey and the sea were lovers of the most intimate kind

Raistlin had a grin, that matched Davey's own. Davey and the sea were lovers, as were Raistlin and magic. Doesnt help when Raist's only edge in life, was his magic. He wasnt strong, like his brother. He had his brains, and his power. "Some things, are misunderstood by the general population" he said with a gentle shrug.

"Aye that be true, sometimes it be hard to see what is right in front of your face" Davey's eyes wandered out to sea reflecting on his own past

Raistlin chuckled, nodding softly "That is quiet true. Its always amused me how dense some people can be. Stupidity truly is entertaining" he shook his head, and paused, allowing a crab to scuttle past him

"Don't know bout it being stupid as oblivious or distracted by things seeming more important at the time, good observation is key, if ye be sailing and spot a bird, land be near by, if the sky in the morning is red a storm is a brewin ... there are signs to be read that could easily be missed" he knew that well 'hind sight is twenty twenty' they say "See the tide receding?" he motioned to the waves that had drawn back a ways so he was standing only ankle deep in water "there is a storm brewin out there causing mighty o waves, simple enough thing to miss if you dont know what to look for"

Tricks of the sea, he's be sure to remember those for next time he ventured anywhere. He nodded as Davey told of 'secrets' from the sea. "All knowledge, is worth having" he muttered softly, hourglass orbs drifting over the ocean surface. "As a mage, we learn to read subtle signs of others. I was a war mage, what seems like a lifetime ago. War mages dont last long, where i came from" a smirk grew over his maw, at the war memories "You learn to read even the most subtlest signs, of a hand reaching for a concealed sword, the soften whisper of another spell, the distant pang of a hidden archer. Every sense must be honed to perfection, or you die" he shrugged "It was years before my trainer, even bothered to learn of my name. And now, he will never forget it" another chuckle

"Aye, then you realize how a miss of something so little can seem like stupidity to someone who noticed it" Davey walked on down the coast, he hadn't explored everything on this island yet and he would quite like to

Raistlin just chuckled, his tails flicking lightly. "I suppose that is true" he said softly, lightly dragging his staff along the sand, making little designs as they trodded down the beach. "All knowledge is worth having" he said offhandedly, hourglass orbs drifting over the ocean's surface.

Davey caught the designs out of the corner of his eye and turned to get a better look, he knew that some spells needed symbols to be cast ... "What might those be? Got any meaning to them?" was Raist plotting something already? He couldn't think Davey would be oblivious to such a blatant act ... maybe he thought Davey was a moron? or that Davey would be trusting of Raist even after such a short period of time? or perhaps Raist was just that sure of his abilities and didn't quite grasp the full complexity of Davey's own

Raistlin glanced down at the designs, not even realizing he'd been doing anything of the nature. He chuckled softly "They're runes" he said lightly, pointing down at one "The elements. Fire, earth, water, air." he pointed to another series "The three orders. Lunitari, Solinari, Nuitari." he said softly, head tilted at the last character drawn in the sand. "The symbol of Takhisis. Odd" he muttered under his breath. He shrugged, and destroyed the symbols with his foot. He didnt need to be reminded of that particular part of his past.
