The queen shook her head politely at the suitors, after a few dances, haveing to tell them to give her a break. With consolling murmers they parted and let her walk over to the refreshments. Upon taking a sip of a drink, her eyes roving over the people inside, her lavender gaze fastened on someone. Setting down her drink she snuck up behind the tall man whom she trusted above all else. "Hello Darious, I am pleased to see you here after all." Her smile was warm and genuine as she tilted her head, her silvery frosted hair tumbling over one shoulder.

Sheperd bristled when he heard the voice, not expecting the queen to so quietly sneak up on him. He turned and picked at the ruffles of the clothing he was wearing, it was obvious to those around him he was on comfortable with it. The court that night demanded something more then his common suit of mail and the ruffled and fanciful cloth that seemed to puff from him gave the captain of the gaurd more of a look of annoyance then of a dignitary.
"M'lady give me my brigandine and my sword and I would be most happy to be here." Darious offered a deep bow with his words.
Standing straight he did take comfort in the ceremonial blade at his side, making him as a gaurd and not one fawning for the Queens affection. Though the blade he wore was not his own, it's hilt was gold and silver crafted, the pommel a deep red ruby. The weapon looked magnificent but was utterly useless, the captain had complained about the weight and balance when first given it by one of the queen's pages; however he knew better to wear it then distrupt the ceremonies by wearing his beaten sheath and aging steel.

Alli pulled out of the kiss, and looked up. "I'm sorry!" She said, blushing. "I have an astronomy lesson... My teacher didn't say whether it was off or not..." She hugged Dante. "I'll see you around... I hope..." She ran off, and bumped into Hall. She fell over, onto her butt.

Morgana tilted her head, sighing softly under her breath, her gaze focused on her most trusted of men. Then she lifted her gaze and looked across the room where some pages rested against the wall, as they were serving most of the meals tonight instead of the normal servants. As they elbowed each other and laughed at something her eyes narrowed, and one happened to look up and catch her gaze. He swallowed, immediately elbowing the one whom she had told to give her gift to Darious, which turned with a scared look. She raised a hand and crooked her finger, the boy immediately started pushing through the crowd. She turned back to Darious, lifting her brows and clasping her hands lest she strangle the wayward page.
"Dearest, you know I would not gift you with such frivolous attire, do you not? I had something made especially for you, so that you could fight and be protected. It has chain mail links underneath the cloth, and I bade the swordsmith make you a blade of ruby, fitted to your hand, which would match your outfit. This is not the one I sent for you." As the boy scurried up, pale, she looked down at him with narrowed eyes. "Did I not give you something for the captain here?" The boy nodded forcefully, looking down. "Then I suggest you take him to it and give it to him, lest he might take it out of your hide." At the boys jolt, she looked up and winked at the captain, then tossed her hand. "Well, go get it boy. He has stood here far too long already in such attire. What if there had been an attack, he wouldn't have been able to fight now would he?" She shooed off the page and smiled at Darious, before feeling someone step up behind her. It was the foreign prince again, who bowed and asked for another dance. Offering a smile to Darious she held out her hand and was swept away with the guileless prince.
