That is a really interesting question that you raise. In order to know if the construct has a soul, we must decide what soul is. If we can come up with an answer for that, then we can decide if the construct has a soul.

For example, the ancient greeks all the way up to at least Descartes thought of the souls as the vivifying force. Everything living had a soul, and without a soul, you could not be alive. Because of this, they believed even things like trees and animals had souls. The hindus also believe this, and it plays into their beliefs in reincarnation. What do you think the soul might be?

Also, I apologize for my short absence. I am still dealing with sickness.

Soul: a spirit/energy construct with the capability to learn, grow, and act upon free thought and freedom of action.

Oh I would like to know weather or not it is known that the child which is in a way a construct has a soul or not?
Edit: I mean, I can make a construct child I can have it grow learn etc. without it having a soul.

Well, I can't really comment. I have a friend who's been looking into their programming, as I tend to suck at that sort of thing and he says that it's by far the most complicated he's ever seen. You can take that as you will, but if they're just constructs, they're really advanced constructs. ninja

Hmm... thats the part that makes things difficult. I've made complicated constructs. I've known constructs with more complicated structures then some spirits. So I guess it is a difficult call there. I'd ask to look at them accept my lack of ability to sense things half the time. I wouldn't know if I would be able to or not at this second.

Well the difference would be in the question of weather or not its in their programming to learn and grow or if it is their will changing and affecting the world around them.

Still a difficult question to ascertain

And who's to say our own souls are not programmed to learn, our will is programmed, thats how it exists, it was created that way. These innate guidelines are called instinct.

I know bodies have preprogrammed instincts but as far as I can tell souls dn't until you build them. I build modes for my soul to interact through.

Like my... soul doesn't naturally shield, but when I build shields.

I don't naturally realize that a spirit is a predator but over time I build things which recognise certain types of signatures and my shields react to them accordingly. I don't know what energy I like or how to filter or anything. As far as I can tell spirits don't have the nice little instincts that the body has.

But I mean you would have to do a full study of new born spirits to be sure. I think that the parental spirit in a way creates the form... but its not the same as creating a construct.
