Although..I had this program a while ago that I configured with a microphone to my voice so that I said to open something or type something and it worked okay for a while...and another program that would say something when I typed it in.. kinda scary but sure was worth the looks on my family's face..

Deep Thought... wasn't that the name of the computer that beat some Russian dude in chess? Also the name of that computer in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, right?
So maybe the clue is pointing to someone related to chess, computers, and/or Hitchhikers?

Gee, I should get back to work. Try not to hang me within the next 6 hours so I can at least protest my innocence before being hanged.

I also thought about the computer in H2G2. The answer is 42. What's the question? Ask Earth before it gets destroyed by Vogons working for psychiatrists (if I remember right). I dig Majikthise. XD Took it a very long time to think of that, though. Dang!

Anyway, randomly throwing accusations about who's mafia will get us nowhere, but we have to start lynching. This thought just occured to me: since the mafia already know who they need to kill, there's no reason for us townies to hide our identities from each other. So EVERYONE should be forced to declare who they are. Presumably all of the good guys are named after the Doctor's allies (like Roobarb = Face of Boe), so there's going to be several obvious ones popping up. The Mafia are then either going to have to wait and see what names are left, then pick from the scraps (so anyone who declares late and with a barely used character is probably mafia), or they'll try to jump on a name, and may have to fight someone else over who's really the owner of that character. In the case where two people claim the same name, at least one of those is probably mafia, and that narrows things down a bit further.
For the record... I'm Captain Jack.

I don't like accusations, either. The clue could mean a lot of things if we think about it, I bet. Yes, we do need to do something, though.
As far as revealing my identity, I was told that I shouldn't reveal it unless there is a dire circumstance. If it comes to it, I'll definitely reveal myself. Otherwise, I'm not sure what I should do. Like I've said before, this is my first time.
In the case of two people claiming the same name, there's a 50/50 chance still of us killing the townie or mafia dude. If more people (in a very silly situation I just thought up) than that claim the same name, the chances change and it would more likely be mafia killed, but there's still a chance of killing a townie, which decreases the number of townies left to ensure townie victory, which is decreased by the mafia anyway...I'm turning completely mad, aren't I?
And I'm a bit sad that Roobarb was the first one killed. At least you can stick around, man!

Ok, Hairy Priest, I got something for you. I've been putting a lot of thought into the first clue "Good pets should try to follow commands excellently."
Generally, most pets have fir. Hairy, one might say. And of coarse they are taught to follow commands. Like us, we are given the 10 commandments.
Likely I'm going to be the next one on the mofia's list. And it's likely I Might be mistaken. But that comment you've just made. I couldn't help but to think. Plus, didn't Ceribri just make Jack into an NPC character?
AND WOULDN'T EVERYONE REVEALING WHO THEY ARE ALERT THE MOFIA TO WHO THE POLICE ARE?!!

Yeah, I'm a bit bummed that Roobarb was the first to go... I bet they took her out first because she seemed sort of leaderish. Which may mean I'm making myself a target by making my suggestion (unless they think it's dumb, in which case the mafia might keep me around because they figure I'll cause the town more harm than good).
About revealing your identity: the mafia already know who's mafia and who's not. If you're mafia, then yeah, obviously it's not such a great idea to reveal your true identity, because we'll lynch you. But if you're a normal townie, you're not putting yourself at more risk by revealing your assigned name, because the mafia already know they have to kill you. According to the rules Ceribri wrote, there are apparently some people with special roles (such as the 'police' that Triska mentioned), and if that's true in your case, definitely don't let that info out until you have to, but that's a separate issue from 'I am Rose' or 'I am Martha'. The names shouldn't (in theory) reveal what your special role is.
If we don't do something to sort out who's who, how the heck are we going to figure out who's mafia or not?

Just to clear things up: The only NPC character is the soldier that was killed on Day One. It was either that, or I kill off one of you before you even get to play. sweatdrop
The mafia know each other, but they don't know anything else - only that their goal is to pretty much kill everyone else.
Yes, there are special roles that are mentioned in the sticky and the links I gave, and this is a pretty standard Mafia game.

I can see why people suspect you. These comments you are making are extremely suspicious. (I did a read over) I have one advise for you. If you are "Captain Jack" stop making those types of comments. It's a very good way to getting yourself Lynched.

Since this is a team game, I don't have to live to win. Therefore, if and when I do get lynched (or the mafia kills me), it will be revealed that I am indeed Captain Jack. At which point, my team will know I was telling the truth, and those of you who first suggested that I was being suspicious and should be considered for lynching (e.g. fortysecond scarf, Touch My Seizure, etc.) will in turn become suspects. That's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.
But, really, those of you who are truly townspeople have nothing to lose by revealing your names. As I've pointed out before, the mafia already knows which players it needs to kill, it is the townspeople who are in the dark. Do you really think it makes a difference if suddenly they know I'm Captain Jack? They didn't know Roobarb was Face of Boe, but she's still dead anyway.
Those of you who are townspeople, think about what we need to do strategically to win. The mafia want to avoid anything that might reveal who they are. Thus, in order to win we need to do something to force them out into the open.

The only thing I heard would be an incident to reveal who you are is when it looks like your about to be lynched. And keeping myself a secret will help the good guys because the Mafia can't tell who I am. As long as the Mafia is in the dark, they can't tell who's police, and who's not. Do not forget they get they're shot when night comes. If they take out all of the police, what chance do the towns people get?
