--This is one of those things that's gonna come back and bite you in the arse--
Deimos flopped down onto a chair. Mother had such unusual habits. She was currently in the bathroom, talking with Kalina, their phone/robot. It was one of the few commodities Jizzy had offered herself, being tight on money as they were. But still, she was talking in the bathroom. She always did. But this left Deimos alone in the room, to think. He'd just met a priest, let alone made friends with one and deep down, that discomforted him. It wasn't until a few minutes that he realized that the deep down was Erebus trying to pipe up. Deimos growled and let Erebus' thoughts penetrate his mind.
'What in seven helss were you thinking?!!! He was a priest! He could have destroyed us in a blink of an eye! '
"He didn' destroy us."
'But he could have! You're a demon. Demon's don't make friends with priests.'
"No. You a demon. I a Mishap."
Erebus gave a grumble. 'And touching the cross like that.'
"It no hurt me.." Deimos interrupted.
'Well it hurt me!'
"That cause you weak.."
'How dare you call me weak!! I am a master demon!!' Erebus began to strain fighting for control of Deimos body, thrashing and flailing in the confines of their shared mind..
Deimos wouldn't allow it though. He growled and will Erebus back. "This my body, no your. If you got problem with that, deal with it. Cause you stuck here." And with that Deimos gave a little quash, and Erebus' voice was no longer heard. His presence felt, but his voice not heard.
Deimos had won the battle, but the war was far from over.

As soon as Deimos pushed Erebus to his corner he felt a familiar feeling taking over him. But this time he felt several jolts running through at an increasing speed Ans suddently they were replaced by a chill running down his whole body, washing the annoying pulsing feeling with it
When he opened his eyes he saw what he was expecting as soon as the felling started to hit. He had grown again Looking around at his body the first thing he noticed the new lenght of his arms and legs. Also his feet and hands had suffered a considerable change, like his eyebrow wings that now easily reached his chin But his biggest change was in his back. His cloak was much, much longer than before, 4-5 times more, and his tail was now darker and "sharper", not to mention stronger Finally he glanced his tatoo. It also had changed, now being completely red instead of the pale brown it used to be

A small origami crane could be seen zooming through the first floor corridor. IT was flying at top speed, passing several doors until it halted in front of Deimos room Apparently it had found it's destination, because a second later it went through the wood as if it wasn't there and landed on Deimos head Writting could be seen in one of the sides and once opened it read: Flying Note We are very pleased to know you reached the child stage. This will be a very important phase of your life as you will soon find out Please report to the infirmary for a check up and discover your elemental alignment Signed, - The Mishap Staff

--We come to Jabir's office much to often--
Participants: Jizzy, Deimos, Jabir and Maggie
Jizzy was about to explode from the sheer thrill of it. Deimos had becoem a kid!. More of, he'd started to control Erebus. SHe couldn't decide which exited her more. Her grin was enourmous as she knocked on Jabir's door.
Mother was making such a big fuss. She'd fretting over him for at least five minutes before they left so he was in a less than peachy mood. "Do we have to see Jabir now, Mother?" He grumbled. He wanted to show off to all his friends.
"Yes, Dei. The note said to report here. Don't you want to know your elemental alignemnt?" SHe asked. She was curious to wha they even meant by that.
He gave a meek nod. ALright, he was curious, but he still wanted to show off.
But it was the infirmary door than opened "Hello Jizzy, Deimos. Jabir isn't here right now" Maggie said with a large smile "He went to pick something up and will join us later. Shall we start?"
Jizzy nodded and led the reluctant child into the infirmary.
Deimos looked up at Maggie and nodded a greeting. " 'lo Maggie.." He said. He hoped this would take too long. He went over to the bed he remebered Maggie checked him on last time and leapt on. "This will be quick, right?"
"A bit longer than last time. We need to make sure you've been growing properly and to check your alignment". She went to pick the equipment before turning to Jizzy "And I need to have a little word with you about Deimos future from now on"
Jizzy's stomach gave a little worried lurch, but she pressed it down. Deimos was fine..
He sighed a long, bored, tired sigh. THis was all so boring, but again the mention of alignment snapped Deimos to attention. "Alignment?" He asked.
"Your magical abilities type in other words. We want to find out what kind of magic you'll react better to and if you have enought potential to cast it" She replied as she checked his ears and wing eyebrows
Deimos flapped his eyebrow wings once or twice to shake them off. They were so big now, he'd have to get used to that. "You think I'm not able to cast magic?" He said, an edge to his voice. Of course he could cast magic. Mother could cast and so could he.
"I believe so. And I think I already know your main alignment... " she was now looking at Deimos eyes, making him follow her finger "... you show it off when Jabir put the cross on your head"
Deimos red eyes folowed her finger intently. He didn't remember anything that might be his so called 'alignment'. "What happened?" He asked, wishing to know more.
"You started to cast fire" she said as she now proceded to his mouth. She checked his throat, teeth and tongue before continuing "I think it was a reaction to the cross instead to the spell"
Fire.. That made sense enough.. It wasn't soemthing wimpy like having a water alignment or something. "I can touch crosses without getting hurt, though. It's Erebus who feels the pain.." He explained. He'd discovered this after meeting up with Duke.
"Really?" she stoped the exam she was doing to his cloak "That's great news. It will make your life a lot easier in the future"
Deimos smirked. Yes it would. It was one less weakness he had. "Erebus got angry at me for finding out. I think he wants to hold me back.. or something.." He grumbled. This was taking so long.
"Or maybe he's just scared" she has now checking his lungs and heartbeat."This won't take much longer now" she replied to his grumbling and bored expression
Deimos smirked widely as he invision Erebus as a little scared kitty cat. He chuckled, despite the lurch Erebus gave against his mind. Guess he didn't like beign seen as a cat. He gave a deep sigh and smiled meekly at Maggie. "What's Jabir off getting?" He asked.
"The aligment stones. Where expecting a more accurate set for later but this ones will do perfectly for now" She was now finishing checking his tatoo, making sure Jabir hadn't forgotten any bit of metal around it. "Can I please see your tail Deimos?"
Reluctantly, very reluctantly Deimos brough his tail around next to Maggie. "Be careful with the feather." He warned Maggie. If she even came close to messing it up, there'd be hell to pay.
"Don't worry" She carefuly stroke it from the base to the tip, checking the bones and muscles with her fingers and palm of her hand, avoiding carefully the feather. Not finding anything wrong she did the same to his hands and feet "Well I think 100% fine. Just move your arms and legs a bit and then bend as far as you can towards the floor"
Deimos stood, shaking his arms and legs, then bending down and touching hsi toes. "That all?" He said, crossing his arms impatiently.
"Just two more things. First how much control do you have over your cloak?" she looked at him aprovingly
Just then Jabir knocked on the door and moved towards his office without entering in the infirmary
"He's here. We'll move to the office in a minute"
Deimos looked back at his cloak. It was so much longer now. He concentrated on it and it bristled, fluttering a little, but nothing more. "Not much.." He said, being honest.
"Hmm, Jabir will have to help you there" she replied "Shall we go to the office then?"
Jizzy nodded and put out a hand so Deimos would take it. He rejected it though. She gave a small sigh and folowed him into the office. He was growing up so fast.
Deimos took his seat in front of the desk. He knew this office to well. " 'lo Jabir." He said.
"Hello Deimos, Jizzy" he replied with a smile. In front of him there was a opened wooden box with several round stones inside. "Have you explained them yet?"
"No, I haven't. I only told them what it was" Maggie answered
"Alright. These stones you see here will tell you your alignments. Each represents a certain element" he picked one that started shinning once touched "For example mine is Space. I control and bend all spacial boundaries, either living or inanimate"
He got up and started placing them around a circle he had drawn before they arrived "Some have more than one element though. Their combination can either create a combo or allow that person to control both. And some combos, like poison, are the same despite the different combined elements"
"And there also oppositions and ranges to consider. For example most people think a fire elemental would be vulnerable to water, but that doesn't always apply. It would depend a lot of the controlling range that person would have over his element and other factors like physical abilities" He picked a lighter and shaped it into a mass of hot, boiling metal "As you can see my range allows me to control the flame inside the lighter, despite not having any power over fire. A skilled fire elemental could do the same to water if he could heat it enough into vapour, making it harmless" he changed the mass back into a lighter "But off course this would depend a lot on the person he would be facing and respective abilities"
"Do you follow me so far?" he turned both to Jizzy and Deimos
Deimos nodded. He'd been listening in rapt attention. He wanted to know what his abilities were.
Jizzy took a little longer to nod. "Please continue." SHe was trying to absorb all this information into her already tired from too much studiying brain.
Jabir nodded and continued "It's very hard to determine what type of combos a person can do if he gets more than one element. Usually the best way is to check which of the elements he's stronger and train from that point on" "Also there are the cases of a person not being able to perform anything at all. That usually happens when a person doesn't have enough power to cast magic"
"Which happens to be my case" Maggie steped foward "My alignment is Earth, Light and Water but I'm hardly able to perform magic besides healing"
"The more elements, the bigger the chance to have a low power. But some of the abilities can be determined thanks to it" he added "But determining your alignment is always useful to know which types will be less effective on you. Rare is the case someone having a weakness in the same alignment they obtain"
"Well I believe that's all. Do you mind steping inside the circle Deimos?"
"Yes!" Deimos said exitedly and leapt off his chair rushing into the circle. He stood straight in it, making sure hus tail or cloak wasn't outside. He was so exited.
"The elements are Fire, Earth, Air, Water, Light, Shadow, Space, Mind, Gravity and Time" as he stated their names, each stone started to shine "There are more but these cover about everything" "Now close your eyes and concentrate. As soon as you reach a mental focus the stones will tell your alignment"
Deimos closed his eyes and took a deep breath. This was sorta dumb, but no, he had to concentrate. Concentrate. Kitty Erebus floated across his mind and he tried hard not to laugh, no concentrate on the stones the stone.. There, his mind was cleared, well as clear as it could be.
The stones light started to fade. A few moments later only 2 kept glowing "You can open your eyes now Deimos and pick the remaining stones" Jabir said "They will reveal themselves once you touch them"
Deimos opened his eyes slowly. He hadn;t felt anything, but there they were, two stones. He snatched them up, his own little treasure for now. Little did he know he had to return them later.
Once he touched them a marking appeared in each of them "That one symbolizes fire" Jabir pointed to the one he was holding on the left hand "And that ones symbolizes Air" he pointed to the other
He went to pick a small round tablet with 10 holes. "Place them here and hold it tightly. It will tell your level on each of the elements and your power to use them"
Alright, fire he already knew, but air. That hadn't been what he'd expected. What could he do with air? Nevertheless he went up to the tablet and placed the stones thier, his clawed hands gripping it tightly, waiting for soemthing to happpen.
Two light collums happeared from the holes where he had placed the stones. The fire one was much bigger than the other
"Apparently you're almost a pure fire elemental. I doubt you will be able to conjur something like a hurricane with that tiny level" Jabir said at the result "Now for your power level"
Once he said it the 2 collumns disappeared and a much larger one took place, occupying the whole tablet. It was a pretty high one too
"Well, it seems we can hire you to light up fireplaces in winter" Maggie smiled, trying not to laugh at the thought
Deimos smirked widely. He was powerful. That feeling filled him with exitement. "How I.. use the fire?" He asked, trying hard not to showthe thrill he felt.
Jizzy felt a chill pass through her body. She suddenly had the urge to fireproff the whole HQ..
"You must first learn how to release it. Some people do it just by focusing, others must be frustrated or angry enough to free that energy" Maggie said. She had been around enough mages, witches and warlocks to know
"For fire types, among others, the best way to start is by target practicing. You must try to conjure a fire ball to hit the target. But I bet Jizzy can help you in that department" he looked at her with a soft smile
Deimos' head spun around so fast that it mikght have flown off his neck if it wasn't attached. "Let's go practice now!" He said, rushing to his mother and pulling her hand.
Jizzy gave a meek smile and nodded to Jabir. "AFter I fireproof, EVERYTHING!" She said with a shudder, looking to Jabir and Maggie, wondering if they could go. Deimos probably couldn;t contain his exitement for much longer.
"We're not finished yet Deimos. Your education doesn't consern magic only" JAbir said while he put the stones and tablet back into place
"We haven't managed to assign teachers yet and we need more kids around before they can come" Maggie explained the situation "You will need to have private classes Dei"
Deimos shook his head. He liked to draw, but not enough to take a whole class about it. "I don't want to take an art class.." He said and with a reluctant sigh was led back to the desk and flopped down in his seat.
Jizzy took her seat as well. "I used to be a magic teacher, but that was a long time ago and that was all I taught." She said witha small sigh. Her wallet flew before her eyes, money flying from it and she winced. She hoped she didn;t have to sign Deimos up for some school. SHe didn;t have the budget, let alone the money to pay for damages.
Jabir helped putting the money back in the wallet and handed it back to Jizzy "At least help him in writting, reading and composition. He will need those bases before moving on to more complex classes"
"And we'll try finding someone to teach Math and History. Other subjects like Science and Sports will have to wait until the remodeling"
Jizzy chuckles sheepishly as she got her wallet back. SOemtimes she just lost control. "I'll do my best.. He can already write.. sort of.. kinda."
Deimos made a face. Math.. Yuck. "I can write fine." He said, even though he couldn't.
"Practice makes perfect Deimos" Maggie smiled at him "And math isn't so horrid as you might think, it just depends on the teacher" she winked
"Then it's settled then" he turned to Deimos "Once you can cast a fireball then come to meet me for flying lessons. You can bring Lenore with you if you like"
Lenore.. yes. He hadn';t seen her in ever. "Alright. I'll bring her. It'll be soon too." He said. He's get this fireball thing down in no time.
Jizzy nodded. "Math can be alright sometimes actually. You can do some nifty things with it."
Jabir could help to smile at Deimos confidence "I'll be waiting for both of you then"
"And cool tricks as well. Plus you never know when it might come in handy"
"Yes, you may go now" he said as he opened the door
Beofre Jizzy could even open her mouth, Deimos was standing, taking her hand and draggin her out the door.
"Thanks guys. Bye!" Jizzy shouted back as she was practically dragged along.
"I'm glad he wasn't under the shadow element" Maggie said as she closed the doo, not having a chance to say good bye, since they weren't longer in view
"Yeah, it would be troublesome if he was... who are you thinking of to teach him the other subjects?"
"Don't know really. I'll talk to our frineds and see if any of them are willing to do it. Well I'll see you later Jabir"
"Later then. And good luck"

--Erebus can be such a jerk-off--
Pateince was not something Deimos had a lot off, but he had to wait. His mother was casting runes and wards all over the house to prevent the whole place going up in smoke. Deimos swing his legs impatiently, his tail swushing as well to the rythim of the guitars blaring from his MP3 player. Music was the only thing that kept him from going over the edge and trying,, he wanted to see his powers, to test them out and after he did, he could learn to fly. He smirked at the thought as the guitar took off on a solo, causing him to air guitar slightly along.
"I'm done!" Jizzy cried out, scribbling the last of the wards on the bookshelf. Deimos leapt up in exitement and stood before her. "Alright.. hmm. I don't know exactly how you draw your power, but I'll tell you how I do mine, ok." SHe said and Deimos nodded, removing his headphones and setting the player to a side.
"Well, I close my eyes and visualize the power as a ball in my hand." She stuck out her hand and slowly a smal swirl of energy began to show up. "I give it a color so it's easier to imagine, then solidify it!" She said and clenched her fist. When she opened it again, a blue glowing ball hovered in her palm, very small, she obviously ahdn't used much power. "Now you try, visualize your power coming out."
Deimos closed his eyes and concentrated on flames, fire, heat. He held out a hand the way Jizzy had and focused his will to make fire there, to form the fire in his hand, but not even a wisp of smoke appeared. His eye cracked open to check, but he shut it quickly, trying harder.
'You can't cast! You can't cast!' Erebus taunted suddenly, his voice echoing slightly, as if very far away.
Deimos grumbled and focused harder, but he didn't even feel any power inside him. In his mind, he saw a door, behind it the fire, but as he went to open it, it was locked. 'Huh?' He thought, trying at the door again and again, rattling it harshly.
'Not gonna work! If I'm going to be stuck here, I'm gonna make you as weak as I can till I can take control.' Erebus voice even sounded like a sneer.
'Let me cast it, damnit!" Deimos shouted in his mind, but chuckled were all he recieved back. WHen he lunged at the doorknob again, it was like a shock ran through him and he snapped from his reverie, his head throbbing in pain. "Damn it Erebus!!" He shouted outloud, which cause Jizzy to be at his side, trying to comfort him in a second.
'If you can't even get past my weakened powers, there no way you could control the fire.' Erebus said snidely, releasing the pain on Deimos forehead. 'Until you can beat me, you get nothing!' And his voice subsidded, lauhing maniacally.'

-- Kisses really do make everthing better. -- Rp chat in Ims Participants: Catherine, Nariko, Aphrodite, Deimos and Jizzy...
Deimos bustled about the kitchen, standing on tiptoes to get at the milk in back of the fridge. Mother needed it for the chcolate chip cookies she was making, and by gds he was going to have them.
Catherine wandered towards the kitchen, Aphrodite in her hands. She wanted to try and find seomthing to help pep up her baby's mood. She didn't have a fever nor a drippy nose... what could she haver come down with. With her opther free hand she was pulling the ever famous wagon that was known as Nariko's carriage.
"FINALLY!" Deimos exclaimed in triump as he grasped the milk, placing it oin the counter near the cookign Jizzy. He did a small jig. He'd got cookies, He'd get cookies.
The familiar sounds of a voice perked her feeble attention. "Day?" she said.
Deimos ears perked up. "Smalls!" He exclaimed, looking about for APhrodite. He was much bigger now, she needed to see.
The tiny babe blinked, a tired smile came to her face. "Day!" She exclaimed with belittled excitement.
" Holy cow!" Catherine blinked as she came to a halt at the side of the much larger Deimos. "You grew!"
Nariko blinked, an exxaggerated expression of awe came to her face. "Woo!"
Deimos opened his cloak to show off its new length and swished his tail nodding. He moved over to Catherin, taking Aphrodite from her ahnds withough asking and sitting down at the table. "How'd ya like it, Smalls? My tatto looks coller now, doesn;t it?" He asked the babe.
Jizzy peered over her shoulder from the bowl she was stirring. 'Hello Catherine!" She exclaimed, a smile on her face as usual.
Catherine tried to return the same happiness but it faltered. Her gaze turned to Aphrodite, he expression was worry.
"Sissssisss Aff" Nariko burbled and then tried to climb out of the wagon.
She ooed, her eyes wide, but she didn't really want to move.
Deimos eyebrow wings furrowed. "What's wrong, Smalls? You tired?" He said, rushing a finger though her hair. He glanced at Nariko, but didn't aknowledge her yet.
Jizzy smile didn;t falter. "I'm making chcocolate chip cookies. Care to stay and have some?" SHe asked, going back to making the batter.
Catherine smiled at jizzy, her spirits lifting a bit. "Yes. I'd like to stay." Turning to the now taller Diemos she expressed her cocern aloud. "..Well. I don't know what's wrong with her... I think she might be sick. But she doesn't have a fever.. and her nose isn't drippy."
She closed her eyes as Diemos brushed her hair lighlty. "hmm.."
"Maybe she's got the blues?" Jizzy said with a small shrug. "Have yoiu tried giving her that remedy you gave me?" She began to dollop the batter ontoa tray. "Or maybe she just needs to have her booboo's be kissed and made better." SHe joked with Deimos, knowing he much to young to be interested in girls.
Deimos frowned and lifted Di up to his eyes, looking her all over. Kissed and made better, eh? WOuld that really work, bring her close he kissed her, swiftly, on her her tiny nose. WOudl this get DI to feel better?
It sure as hell surprised her! As soon as he came down and kissed her tiny nose, she clung to his face. "Woo!"
Catherine blinked, a bit of a sigh of releif, it was a reaction!
Nariko had finally freed herself of the wagon and had crawled across the kitchen tile, plopped right behind Deimos, poking at his tail curiously.
Jizzy chuckled. "I didn;t expcet him to take it seriously." SHe laughed, palcing the tray into the oven, setting the timer and taking a seat by Catherine.
Deimos smirked as she did so. 'See, Smalls better now.." He bristled though as Nariko touched his tail and his eyes narrowed isntictively, turnign to face her. "don't.. touch.. my tail." he hissed in a dangerous tone.
She gasped, falling backwards, her bottom lip quivering. And then pointed at his face. "Aff!" She directed her fear not for Deimos but for her tiny older sister that was attached to Deimos's face.
Catherine, blinked, taking a seat on the stool. "Heh.. Nariko.. Deimos doesn't like it when people touch his tail."
"Aff!" she once agained pointed, expressing her concern.
Aphrodite held on for dear life to his face. Burying her little face into his cheek
Deimos brough his hand up to support Aphrodite in case she fell. "I wn't let Smalls fall. WHo are you supposed to be?" He asked, his tone still rather agravated.
Jizzy sighed. "No he doesn't.. Its his pet peeve of sorts."
Nariko blinked at him. processing the question as she madeherslef sit back up. "Siissssiiiiissss" She strained, pointing to herself. As though to say she was Aphrdite's sister.
"that's Nariko... you guys met before remember? " Though it was breif, it was true. " She's Aphrodite's younger sister. .. Garreth's in the room with Baxterfullous."
Aphrodite let her tiny rump sit snugly in Deimos's palm.. she felt so much.. better with him for some reason. Nuzzling a bit. "Day.." She said finally. "Nah kay"
Deimos lookied over at Nariko. SIster eh.. She nodded in greeting. "K's then.." Besfore he turned back to Aphrodite. "What's wrong with you, Smalls?" He asked with a sigh. He wnated her to be better.
Jizzy nodded. 'Deimos isn;t the best with names.." She said with a tiny shrug.
" It's a cute nickname." She smiled. It seems Deimos's presense was making Aphrodite better. " I hope Aphrodite's ok.. with.. having siblings." Another concern she wanted to adress. "She tok the meeting ok... at least from what I noticed... I don't want her to think I don't love her anymore.... thant's not true." She frowned, a small tear streamed down her cheek. "I just don't want to make mistakes like my mother.. and grandmother did."
Nariko raspberried Deimos as soon as his back was turned. "Baaah!" She wanted to help!
I'm sure they both know you love them the same." Jizzy said with a smile. "My parents favored my sister as well, but we learn to do better, now don't we." SHe said.
Deimos rolled his eyes and let APhrodite down on the table for a moment. He bent down, picked up Nariko and placed her on the table before replacing Aphrodite in his hand, stroking her hair with his thumb. "There, now will you stop whining.." He said to Nariko.
"Pah! " She nodde.d "Siisssisss siiih chooo waaaaazzzzzzaabuu" Oh was speech a pain.
Catherine nodded a bit, but couldn't help but laugh at Nariko a bit. "Yes, we learn from out parent's mistakes."
Aphrodite blinked as well, watching her sister, looking at her like she was crazy. "Loonie tooonie" She pointed.
Jizzy nodded. "Deimos may be getting a sibling soon.." SHe whispered. "But I don't know how he'll react.."
Deimos chuckled. Nariko did seema bit the insane type. "Yes. She is a bit odd isn't she, Smalls?"
A tiny gigle left her lips as she looked at her larger and yet younger sister.
"Ploooooooooooooo" she bubrbled and then made a face, it seemed there was a method to her madness. She was trying to cheer Aphrodite up.
" I think he'll be ok... Tal's a bit submissive though, so I think you should be careful." she warned.
She nodded. Though she didn't know what Tal looked like, she had gotten a letter from Salem's home. "I will."
Deimos smiled a fanged smile as she giigled. "See, Smalls is all better now, right?"
Nariko extended her hands out as though she wanted to hold Aphrodite.
She looked up at Deimos and then at Nariko. She did feel a little better, but there wasn't something wrong. She could feel it.
Catherine grinned. "And you'll be getting a brand new apartment to go along with what you have here... It's big and comes with three more rooms. "
Jizzy's eyes almsot bulged from her head. 'Three roms? Whats the rent on that place?" SHe felt sweat form on her temple. SHe cou;dn't afford a three room place.
Deimos looked at Narikoa nd sighed, exttending his hands out to her. "Smalls's sister. Here.." She said, putting Aphroditwe down reluctantly.
"It's free, no rent at all. Salem's really generous. heh." She smiled a bit.
Nariko Carefully took, as though she was holding glass. Cradling her like her mother cradled her. "Sississ.. Sisissis wuv Affie." She strained, but the statement was clear as day. She brought Aphrodite up to her face and nuzzled gently. "Wuv wuv wuv." Now doing what Deimos had done, kissing her on her tiny cheek, he was able to make her feel a little better, why could she try as well?
Aphrodite blinked up at Nariko, a soft genuine smile on her face as a the sloppy kiss reached her cheek. Was this what was missing, she couldn't understand but it felt like she had been reunited with someone so dear to her heart. "Nari!" She squeeked hugging her face. She then turned to Deimos happily. "Day!"
Jizzy's jaw dropped. 'F..Free??" SHe muttered. Gods this was.. this was great!!
Deimos smirked, then smiled. "Smalls is better already. Small's sis is good at healing.."
Nariko smiled up at Deimos, by far she was the calmer third of the bunch of siblings. Even though she was an infant an air of wisdom surrounded her, maybe it was because even though she was younger, she acted like the elder of the three siblings.
She did feel safer between being around her mother, Deimos, and Nariko. She then wondered where her youngest and largest sibling was. Through her minor depression she hadn't noticed where he had gone.
A smiled appaeared on her face, it was of releif. "Yes.. heh." She let out another breath of relief.
The large green baby dragon peeked into the kitchen. "Mama!" he sniffed around and waved to Jizzy and then Deimos. "Mama, Baxie says your toonies are on.. Ooohooo! Affie you ok!" He smiled contently at his elder sister's appearance.
Catherine blinked and nodded. "Thanks Gary, I think we should be going. I'll come by and see how those cookies are. I know we're going to love them. " She smiled, lifting up Nariko from the counter holding both babies in her arms. Following Garreth back to the room... and by itself it seems the wagon followed suit.

--Reunited and it don't feel so good.--
Participants: Jizzy, Deimos, Tori and Wycliff
A slight breeze wafted through an open window at the end of the dinning room, sending a shiver up Tori's spine. He looked over at the source of the cold, scowling softly and getting up from his chair. "Hold on a sec, Wy," he said, shuffling toward the window. "I'm going to close this, isn't it cold?" Tori's dark purple hair swished behind him as he made his way to the other end of the dining room, quickly swinging the window shut and latching it with a satisfying click. "Ahh, there we go..." He said, smiling softly, and turning back to his Mishap.
"Ah! Wy!" Tori rushed over to Wycliff, sitting quickly back into his chair. In the time it took Tori to shut the window, Wycliff had managed to throw his food virtually everywhere around the room; he still had a little baby left in him, no matter his size.
"RAMEN!!!" Deimos sped into the dinig room at full speed, his mother balancing two steaming bowls of ramen right behind him. It was ramen day! No matter how much they ate the stuff, he enver got sick of it.
Jizzy was careful not to drop the bowls as she strode in, but he face broke into a large smile as she spotted Tori and the now grown Wycliff. 'Tori! Long time no see!!"
Tori looked up from cleaning off Wycliff's very dirty face, blushing as he noticed Jizzy and Dei. "Uh...hi, guys..." He said, standing and stepping in front of Wy's seat. "Yeah, long time no see...How are you two?"
"We're doing alright. Been rather busy." SHe said, setting the bowls on thr table. "And you. I've missed you. I was starting to wondr where you ahd vanished to."
Deimos leapt up into the chair, taking wooden chopsticks, breaking them apart, and fumbled with them as he tried to eat ramen. It was slow and messy work, but he refused to eat it any other way. He looked up at Tori and WY, arching an eyebrow. "You knwo them?" He asked. They seemed familiar, but not entirely too known.. The Mishaps name was on the tip of his tounge htough he couldn;t quite reach it.
"Yeah, I have been busy too, although I think Wy has just been his normal, lazing self..." Tori nodded a bit, frowning to himself; he had big plans to turn Wycliff into a fit young Mishap, and he needed to start them soon.
Wycliff looked up from his food, blinking a few times at both people. "Hello..." He said, his voice somewhat more collected than it had been; he had been learning how to speak properly from his Guardian, and it seemed to be paying off.
"Deimos is being a troublemaker.. as always. I think I must have visited Jabir at least 3 times because of Deimos since I last saw you." She said, with a meek chuckle as she broke apart her own chopsticks and slurped up some ramen, much more daitily.
Deimos clumsily slurped his ramen when it clicked in hsi mind. "Wy!" He suddenly exclaimed. It'd been a while, and he'd grown, but this was Wycliff alright. "How are you, Wy?" He asked, though the memroies of him were still a bit fragmented..
"Ahh, well, Wy and I sometimes get into a bit of trouble too, but nothing major..." Tori smiled down at his Mishap. "Although, now that he's older, I dunno..."
Wycliff tilted his head to the side slightly, blinking at Deimos. "Er...." He paused, trying to remember Deimos. "I'm okay..." He shrugged, turning to what his Guardian had taught him about etiquite so far. "How'r you?"
Jizzy chuckled and looked at Tori, smirking. "WHta kidn of trouble do goody two shoes liek you get in to?" She teased, nudging his shoulder playfully.
"I'm good. I've became a pirate captain now. See I have a bandana and even a tatoo like real pirates have." He siad, turnng and pointing to the red tatoo on his upper arm.
"Ahh, well..." Tori blushed slightly, nodding at Jizzy. "Well, we're not all innocent, you know..." The tall man looked up, winking at her.
"Ahh..." Wycliff didn't quite know the word 'pirate' or 'captian,' and he wasn't so sure about 'bandana' or 'tattoo,' but he got some of the gist of the conversation. "Pretty..."
Jizzy laughed and winked back. "Oh you know it.. I'm a real vixen deep down so I bet you got that side too." SHe said, slurping a b it more ramen.
Deimos followed toe, the ramen coming up into his mouth at high speed and tapping his nose. He remebered the occasion abckl at the tub the clearest and smiled. "You learn how to swim now that you're bigger?"
"Ahh, possibly..." He wiggled his nose, nodding a bit. "What have you been up to, though?"
"swim?" Wycliff shook his chubby little head, waving his tail. "No..."
"I've been studying mostly. I'm getting back into the magic craft, then I have my job, plus the night one I start soon.. I try to spend time with Dei though, but the hours of the day seem to evade me.. Oh.. and then theres.." She trailed away, feeling a blush creep into her cheek. "Rico.." SHe said. She felt like she was conffesing her secrets to a big brother.
Deimos shrugged. "Too bad. I haven't learned either, though you can at least float. You've got to learn and teach em, it's your job as first mate."
"Ohh, magic...And so many jobs, my goodness...Why so many?" Tori frowned a bit, but perked up at the mention of someone beside Jizzy in Jizzy's life. "Ohh...Rico?"
"Wha?" Wycliff blinked a bit, flicking one ear foreward and back as he thought. What was a mate, and why was he first?
"I... I don't make much money.. so.. I've had to take a second job.." SHe siad sheepishly, shamefully. "and Rico.. well. I dunno what's the deal with Rico, but.." Her tone dropped. "I kinda really like him.."
Deimos looked questioningly over at WYcliff. "Did you lose your memory when you grew, cause you knew what a first mate was back then.."
"Well, if you needed money, you should have asked!" Tori huffed, crossing his arms. "You know I will help you when times are rough..." The tall man chuckled lightly, leaning close to Jizzy. "How much?"
Wy squeezed his eyes almost shut, trying to remember. "Um...no..." He frowned, shaking his head; of course he hadn't lost his memory!
Jizzy shook her head. "I can't take money from you! I'd never be able to pay it back." SHe siad, shaking her head fervently. "I'll earn it, no wrorries."
Deimos shrugged again. "Then why don't you know?" He said, sluriping some ramen, a noddle going astray and had to eb wiped from his cheek.
"Take? You know it wouldn't be taking, Jizzy..." He frowned some more, shaking his head. "If you need it, ask for it, okay?"
"Why DO you know?" Wycliff asked, licking his fingers, one by one. They still had traces of pasta sauce on them from earlier.
Jizzy smiled. "Alright, but I'll manage I promise.. Rico's offered me help to, but I'll be fine, no worries." She said with a nodd, continued to eat her ramen.
"Because I'm Captain Deimos. All Pirate captains have to a have a first mate, a second in command." He said, lifting hsi bowl up to drink up the broth of the soup.
"Who is this Rico person, anyway?" Tori asked, raising an eyebrow. "I hope he's not some lowlife..."
Wycliff nodded slowly, the thoughts passing slowly through his head. "I'm first...mate?"
Jizzy eyes windedn and she shook her head rapidly. "No No.. He's Chao's twin brother, I don;t know if you've met her. But he;s really nice and helpful and.." SHe stopped, realizing she was ramblign and blushed.
"If you want to, though you don't seem too fit for it. I said you were and a Captain doesn't go back on hsi word." Deimos said witha happy sigh as he finished of the soup, leaving not a drop.
"Well, alright...I'd like to meet him sometime, though, ne?" Tori nodded slowly, idly picking off a speck of dust from his pant-leg.
"Not fit?" Wycliff puffed up his chest, frowning. "Humph."
"I'm sure you'd like him.." SHe said nodding. "He was the one who cured me of that fever I had a while back.." SHe said, avoiding the.. other things that had happened with Rico when she had had a fever.
"You didn't even knwo what a first mate was. How are you supposed to eb a good one?" He said, to hhim, his reasoning was infallable.
"Ahh, well then, he can't be that bad..." Tori perked up, smiling; that fever had been bad, and Tori had been worried about Jizzy for a long time.
"Capt'n sop'sd to be nice!" Wycliff said, waving his tail angrily. He didn't like the way this other Mishap was talking to him.
She nodded in agreement. "He even made me dinner once.." SHe siad, though that ahd ended badly, it had been the thought that counts.
"Captain's are supposed to defend thier crew, and first mates are supposed to back up the Captain!" Deimos argued. "You're part of my crew, but you're my first mate, so it's you job to defend the crew if I'm nto able to. So you have to be strong."
"Ahh, dinner is...well, can be, good..." Tori was a little skeptical about this Rico fellow, but he would hopefully be able to meet him soon.
"Why should I be first mate? You're mean." Wycliff set his jaw, turning away from Deimos.
"He's a very good cook.. and.. he and Chao.. they're willing to help me.." She said sighing. "I'm in a spot of trouble.. with my sister.." SHe said, her eyes darkening.
"You don't have to if you don't want too. But I'm not mean. I'm honest. If you can't be strong, then you can;t defend the crew. WHat good is it if you can;t defend peple when they need you?" He said, his eyes narrowing.
"I am glad..." Tori's voice softened, and he turned his eyes to the ground. Where was he when his sister needed help? "Is there anything I can do?"
"What do you do?" Wycliff said, shaking his head. Who was this person to butt into his life and start berating him? What happened to friendship, acceptance? Obviously the new Deimos was not someone that Wycliff wanted to hang around, so mean and stupid. Not even thinking about what other qualities Wycliff had, nothing but himself.
Jizzy gave a sigh.. "You can be here for me.. and promise.. if anything happens to me.. You'll take care of Deimos.. I.." SHe fumbled with the words. "I may not come out of this problenm alive.."
"I protect Mother, and my crew. I fight back demons so they don't take control of me and hurt the ones I'm trying to protect. If you were in danger, I'd protect you. It's whata Captain does." He said.
"I will do everything I can for you, Jizzy, no matter what...I promise..." Tori stood, frowning at his own unhappiness. "I'll be there for you..."
"No." Wycliff shook his head, frowning. "No, you are mean, no protect. Only mean. Go away." Wycliff turned away from Deimos, scooting toward his Guardian. He didn't want anything to do with this stuck-up mean Mishap anymore.
Jizzy flung herself onto Tori, hugging him tightly. "Thank you Tori.. though.. It's dangerous.. my sister.. she.. she's even attacked Rico.."
Deimos stood, glaring at Wycliff. "Fine! You want me to go away, fine!" He said, anger bubbling under the surface. He heard Erebus chuckle delightely in hsi head and slammed his fist ito the table, denting it as another hand rushed to his head. Erebus was giving him a headache.. again..
"Look, I'll be here for you, no matter what..." Tori hugged his sister close, rubbing her back gently. "No matter what..."
"You're mean. No one likes mean." Wycliff turned back to Deimos for a moment, frowning. At the sign of violence, he jumped, letting out a little squeak of fear and clinging to his Guardian.
Tori turned to Deimos, shaking his head. "Hey...If you're going to be violent..." He turned back to Jizzy. "I can't risk Wy being hurt, Jizzy..."
Deimos looked up at Jizzy, his hand on his head. He was taking deep breths as Erebus increased the pressure on his mind.. He winced. "He's doing it again mother.." He said softly.
Jizzy winced and turned to Tori. "I'm sorry.. I.. we can leave it's just.. Deimos.... we found out he has a demon spirit inside him and.. latey he's been tormenting Dei, giving him headaches, preventing him from using magic.." Her tone was sad.
"I am very sorry to hear that all of this is happening to Deimos..." Tori frowned, nodding, and gathering his thoughts. "I hope you don't mind me keeping Wycliff away from him..."
Wycliff crawled onto his Guardian's lap, clinging to the man. He looked back at Dei, frowning. "Hurt?"
"It's alright. It's probbaly best.. I've tried everything, but nothing helps the headaches until Erebus stops.." Jizzy said, scoochign her chair so it was between Tori, Wy and Deimos. This way if anything to terrible happened, she could stop Dei.
Deimos nodded at Wycliff statement. He raised his eyes to WYcliff and they were amix of anger and pain as his head gave another painfull throb. "The demon inside me likes to hurt me lately. I got him mad.." He took his seat again, taking deep breaths as he'd been instructed. "I have to be strong.. or he takes over.."
"If there's anything Wy or I can do, just tell me, ne? We'll be happy to help, as long as it doesn't hurt Wycliff..." Tori scooted close to Jizzy, hugging her with one arm and Wycliff with the other.
"Wycliff help?" Wy said, frowning with concern and reaching out a little. "Please?"
Jizzy sighed. "I can't promise any of us won't get hurt.. But.. Deimos has never hurt anyone yet..." SHe said..
Deimos looked up at Wycliff, heaving deep sighs an he smiled. Erebus' chuckles began to fade, though the headache persisted. "See, now that's my first mate.." He said..
"We'll just have to be careful, then.." Tori said, nodding warmly, his smile becoming larger. "No worries, ne?"
"Hmph." Wy shrugged, still not willing to give in to any of Dei's wants, just because the other Mishap was sick. "Feel good?"
Jizzy nodded. "Right. JUst cautious.."
Deimos, smirked. "A frist mate looks after his Captain, a Captain after his first mate.." He said, not really answering the question. "I'll be fine.." He siad, though he winced as a throb filled his mind. "I have to be strong remember.."
"Hmph." Wycliff liked that word, and finally figured out a good place to use it in. "Okay."
"When did this stuff start?" Tori asked, watching Dei and Wy.
"After Deimos went into the forest.. he was just a toddler.." She said, little did she know it ahd started earlier.. "The pains started right after he grew though."
Deimos gave aother deep breath as the headache began to subside soem more. "A Captain is only as strong as his crew.. So you must eb stronger than I took you for.."
"Ahh, yeah..." Tori nodded slowly. "I'm sorry to hear that..."
"Feel good?" Wycliff asked again, not wanting to talk about the pirate issue right now.
Jizzy gave a small sigh. "He'd tough though, and I'm doing all I can to help."
The pain began to subside and Deimos nodded. "Yes. I feel better."
"You do a wonderful job..." Tori nodded, winking at Jizzy.
"Good..." Wycliff perked up slightly, smiling.
Jizzy flushed. "I try." She said, standing and picking up the plates and starting to ehad out to the kitchen. "Join us in the kicthen? We can have cookies there."
Deimos got to his feet, not smiling but not frowning either, the pan in hsi head almost gone. 'Come on Wy! Mother has chocolate chip cookies!"
"Ohh, cookies..." Tori pursed his lips, nodding. "Sounds like a plan to me!"
"Cookies!" Wy giggled, getting up and following Dei. "Let's go!"
Jizzy led them into the kitchen where placed the plates in the sink. Moving to the fridge to get the cookies though, she tripped and feel face first into the refirdgerator. This knodge the fridge into the wall, crashing loudly as the shock sent up the wall, a light fixture over htier head wobbling as it loosened.
Deimos moved over t Jizzy immedatly. 'Mother! You ok?"
Tori gasped slightly, moving with Dei. "Jizzy!"
Wy blinked, starting over to where Jizzy was. His gait was rather slow, as he had just learned how to walk a while ago.
Jizzy mumbled and straigtened up. "I'm fine. I'm fine." She said, grinning. "Just klutzy thats all." She said, straghtening the fridge and opening it.
Deimos sighed in relief and turned back Wycliff. The light above teetered on the last connecting cord and with a snap began to plummet, right over Wycliff.
"Ahh, I am glad you're okay..." Tori smiled shuffling over to stand by Jizzy.
Wy looked up, letting out a short scream as he saw the light fixture flying toward him.
Deimos was at his side as fast as he could and pulling his fist back, punched the lamp, sending it flying so it crashed intot he wall isntead of into Wycliff. The glass of it shattered on contact, several shards embbeding themselved into Dei's hand, and most litterig the floor on its way to the wall. "You ok, WY?" He asked immediatly after.
Wy stood where Dei pushed him, completely stiff. Tori was at his side in a few moments as well, also asking if he was okay. "I..." Wycliff stammered for a few seconds, shut his eyes, sat on the ground, and started crying.
Deimos gave a short sigh and lifted his bleeding fist, pulling out the larger glass shards absentmindedly.
"By gods!" Jizzy exclaimed rushing to them, lookign at Wy and nearly fainting at Deimos bloodied hand.
Tori hugged Wycliff gently, stroking the little Mishap's head. "Hey, it's okay Wy..." The tall man frowned at Dei's attitude, shaking his head; what was with him?
Deimos continued to yank out the glass shards, as if nothing was wrong. He waved off Jizzy's attempts to clean him. "In a while." He turned to the shattered lamp, then to Wycliff. "You aren't hurt are you?" He asked, curious to why Wycliff was crying.
Wyciff sniffed a few times, shaking his head. Tori hugged him again, lifting the little Rhino-boy into his lap. "Hey, Jizzy, I think we should go now...I hope you get Deimos back to normal soon...I really do..." He stood, grunting slightly at the weight of his Mishap. "Hope I see you later!"
Jizzy nodded and turned to Deimos. "WHat the hell happened Dei?"
Dei shrugged.. "The lamp was going to fall on Wycliff. I couldn't let him get hurt.." He replied plainly, still tending to the wound caused by the lamp.
"See you later..." Tori frowned at Dei, taking a moment to wave at Jizzy before shuffling away.

--Lions and Tigers and Piratey Bears, Oh My!--
Participants: Jizzy, Deimos, Chinchille and Sabirel
Sabriel sat by one of the windows, watching leaves twirl dizzily to the ground. After much experimenting and ripped dolls Chin had wisely decided to let him be for a little while. He wasn't doing much of anything that she could see, so it wasn't like he could get in much trouble. She obviously didn't have much experience with kids like him.
But to pass the time, she picked out a set of building blocks and set to work making a castle in the middle of the floor, using all sorts of different things snitched from several other games to make it interesting. It felt sort of weird, Sabriel being the one sitting around and doing nothing and her playing games, but as long as nobody else saw...
Adding a flag as a finishing touch, Chin sat back on her heels and glanced towards him. 'What on earth can be so interesting about leaves, anyway?' What a mystery.
Deimos slinked into the toy room, slowly, cautiously, his tattered bear Zir in one hand. He'd snuck away from a studious Jizzy to come here and relax a while. He scowled when he saw people inside, but strode in anyways, making a failing attempt at ignoring his company.
Chinchillie quickly scooted away from the blocks the moment the door opened...on someone she'd never, ever seen before; a very interesting looking someone. And whom didn't so much as glance over. Unsure of what to do, she raised her voice, sounding a bit cautious. "Um, hello...?"
Sabriel was too occupied to care, though his ears did flick backwards - but only for a moment. Look! There went another one! He leaned forward and peered with interest, claws twitching slightly at need to pounce and tear and bat at those glorious floating things.
Deimos looked up from Zir and made a small nod of greeting to Chinchillie. " 'Lo.. Who are you?" He asked. He didn't know this person and he used to be able to pride himself in at least having met everyone that lived here, apparently a few new Mishaps had shown up.
"C-Chinchillie. I guess I'm new." Chin shrugged and smiled sheepishly, getting to her feet. A nod took in the black outline at the window, which still hadn't moved. "And that's Sabriel over there. Who might you be?" Another Mishap, or so she guessed, but she hadn't even seen him around the agency. Probably on another floor or something.
Something about the conversation behind them turned Sabriel's head. His eyes narrowed slightly when he spied Deimos. Who was that?
Deimos looked over to Sabriel and locked eyes with him as well, a stare down. "I'm Deimos. Captain Deimos.. I supposed you were new. I know most everyone.." He said to Chincille, though he refused to tear his eyes from Sabriel. He would emerge victorious from this staredown. He pulled Zir close to him. With Zit at his side, how could he lose?
This person was actually challenging him? Sabriel's fur bristled at the very thought of it. Accepting the challenge, he glared fiercely back at the boy, window completely forgotten.
And suddenly it became too much. His ears flattened back as he looked away, angry at Deimos and at his jumpy cat nerves. Grrr.
Chin sighed in relief - a situation like that could've turned pretty ugly. "Ah. Well, it's very nice to meet you." she remembered to say. Captain Deimos? That might explain the piratey...ness.
Deimos smirked triamphantly and looked back to CHinchille. His eyes brow wings flapped slightly, as they did at odd intervals of time. "Does Sabriel always give up so easily?" He said, a smirk plastered on his face.
Chin blinked at the wings, answering after a pause. "Not...usually." she said carefully. "I usually have to trap him before he stops. Maybe you're good at this, or something."
In the meantime, the baby Mishap crawled over to a dog plushie lying alone on the floor. He couldn't bite through the neck, so he abandoned it for some blocks. Hefting a red one, he tried to chuck one at Deimos' head, but it flew about an inch. Sabriel wasn't happy.
"I'm a captain, of course I'm good at it." He said, shooting a smirk at Sabriel. "Everyone in my crew is strong, so I have to be stronger." He said, even though he ahdn't OFFICALLY formed a crew. He just kinda labeled all his freinds as his pirate crew.
Footsteps come down the hallway, hurried as Jizzy's brown topped head pocked in. "Deimos. There you are." She started making her way to him, btu stopped Sabriel and Chinchille. 'Oh, hello. You must be new. I'm Jizzy."
Chin looked bewildered. He even had a crew? She gladly turned to Jizzy even though she was a completely new person, holding out her hand with a smile. Didn't want to make bad impressions, after all. "Jizzy? It's nice to meet you! My name's Chin. Chinchillie. Are you his...um..." She cast around for the word. "...mom?"
Sabriel eyed Zir, inspiration bounding. Maybe he could get that bear. Deimos was way too big to get at, but the bear...
Jizzy smiled and shook her hand jovially. "Yup. That'd be me. Deimos hadn;t cause any trouble, has he?" SHe looked over at himas if to confirm it.
Deimos shook his head. "I didn;t do nothing wrong." He said, placing Zir on the floor to raise both hands up in a show of mock innocence.
"Not that I -know- of." said Chin thoughtfully, something in her tone belying the serious expression she wore. "Unless you count beating Sabriel, and that's a thing to reward."
The bear! This was too perfect! Now, you just had to be careful, oh-so-careful...and quiet. Sabriel moved in for the kill.
Jizzy chuckled and flopped down onto the floor. "He snuck out though. I was studying and he didn't even leave a note.." She gave a short glare at him. "Next time leave a note, ok. I looked around half of HQ for you.."
Deimos nodded. "Alright. I'll leave a note.." He said, exhasperated. His eyed feel upon the window outside and the leaves fluttered down. He and Zir should be outside not here. His eyes darted to the side, to where Zir was and he spotted Sabrile, smirking. "Don't even think about it.."
Chin dropped down next to her, narrowly missing her pile of blocks. "Oops. I hope I don't have trouble like that with Sabriel." she voiced almost wistfully. Not a chance. He'd probably learn to pick locks before he learned to walk, at this rate.
Sabriel cast wildly about, not to be stopped. It was a minor setback. He crouched and pounced for the nearest thing he saw - Deimos' tail. Rar!
"If Sabriel is anything like Deimos, you can bet on it.. Deimos was sneaking out since he could walk.." SHe said, though slightly joking. She gave a small sigh and looked behind her. "Ohh blocks!" SHe exclaimed and lauched herself onto building a tower.
Deimos shook his head. His mother could be so imature sometimes. He opened his mouth to speak, but instead let out a yowl as Sabriel grasps his tail. 'GET OFF ME!" He shouted, jumping to his feet and turning trying to pry the babe off him.
"Help us all." Chin sighed too. Jizzy's exclamation nearly sent her falling backwards. Grinning, she scooted over to help. The shrieks from behind them didn't sound too serious - though she snuck a look and cringed - and hopefully Deimos could get the little terror under control. Hopefully Jizzy wouldn't notice, either...
Sabriel clung with all four feet, unwilling to relinquish his prize, and to add injury, clamped his teeth into it as well. He gave a muffled howl of triumph. The tail was his! The other Mishap was stronger, so he could feel himself getting pried free even while victory was at hand. To stop this, he tried slapping at Deimos' hands with his tails, but he was striking blind.
Jizzy winced, but she knew she could do nothing to help. She piled up the blocks high, trying to smile. "We should build something grand!"
Deimos felt very glad his tail had grown and he manueered it so that the cat child was hanging before his narrowed eyes. He grabbed Sabriel, yanking him off his tail. "NEVER touch my tail.." He said, iron grip on Sabriel, surveying if it was alright, along with Lenore's feather. "I don't care how small you are.. I will beat you up.." He hissed, this first time would be a warning..
Sabriel thrashed in the older boy's grip, but couldn't twist enough to claw at him. He hissed right back at him instead, unable to understand the words but the tone was very clear.
"Like a castle?" Chin suggested. No, castles were boring. She browsed through the blocks on the floor while she thought. The set came with all sorts of little things, like animals and cars and stuff. "Or a city! A zoo! What d'you think?"
"You're weak.." Deimos said witha smirk as he held Sabriel from attacking him. He sat down again though and released him. "Stick with me, though.." He said with a fanged smile. "and I'll make you stronger.." He said. Recreiting had become a regular thing for him, though if Sabriel tried another attack, Deimos wouldn't forgive it.
"What about a city with a zoo then?" She said wioth a smile. SHe started picking up the arimals placing them around the floor.
He held still once he was free but watched Deimos, eyes still narrowed. The way the demon boy said it touched something Sabriel didn't understand...not yet, but it appealed to him. All he did was flick an ear back and forth noncommittally and kept his attention rapt on Deimos' face.
"Sounds good." Jizzy's smile was infectious. Chin set to work on a fence, building it around a tiger that had been placed down. Things were a lot quieter back there, when she thought of it...good to hear.
Deimos continued smirking. It was the expression that came most naturally too him. "If you join my crew, I'll make you stronger.." He flexed an arm to give a visual representation to the babe. "But you'll have to be under my orders." He said, the smirk still on his face. He knew it was better to recruit Sabriel early and gain an ally, rather than make an enemy.
Jizzy began to make the archway for the zoo, piling the blocks at a slight angle so they met in the center. "What should be our main exibit?" She asked, looking around at the animals they had, he ears perked for any sign of trouble behind them.
Both his ears pricked up and his tails ceased their agitated twitching. Sabriel didn't know the gestures of nodding and such - it was the only way he could agree. They could be allies. For now, at least...
...but that wouldn't stop him stealing that bear.
"Um..." Chin tilted her head to one side. "If we had penguins we could make a water exhibit. Ooh! Dolphins!" She paused to think about it. "But there's no water. Hum."
Deimos seemed very pleased with himself as he grasped Zir and placed him before Sabriel. "Zir gives orders too, so you have to answer to him.." He said, his eyes narrrowing slightly as he recalled Sabriel's attempt on the bear.
"What abotu a Wizard of Oz exibit? It can have lions and tigers and bears, oh my!" SHe siad, chuckling at her own abd pun.
Sabriel tossed back a disgusted look - as if saying, what, don't you trust me at all? Deimos shouldn't, but he wasn't to know that. The humiliating idea of actually taking orders from the bear would make him all the more determined to get at it.
"Mrow." he said to Zir, putting respect into his voice. He didn't like it very much. Its eyes/eye were creepy.
She snorted. "That was awful." There was a grin on her face. Putting a dolphin aside, she sorted through the pile in search of lions, tigers, and bears (oh my!) They already had one tiger - but what was the fun in one lousy old tiger?
Deimons nodded, rather pleased with himself. "You're to small to be a pirate yet, though. You're just a cabin boy for now, maybe you'll move up as you get bigger." He said. He'd keep Sabriel under his command. Keep you friends close, and enemies closer.
Jizzy chuckled. "I know.. But I couldn;t help myself." SHe siad, spotting a lion and stickign it into the pen with the tiger. ALl they needed now was the bears. A grin spread across her face as she looked back at Deimos.. "Zir.."
Sabriel just blinked. His eyes caught the evil grin in a corner and he turned his head to see, on the alert again after the conversation had calmed him down. She was looking at the BEAR! If the grownups got it, he'd never be able to steal it!
He tried communicating this to Deimos in a frantic babble, fearing for his plan.
"Do bears at the zoo wear eyepatches?" Chin asked innocently. Inside, she was a little curious how Deimos would react. Sabriel was easy to guess - angrily - in fact, he was freaking out about something right now.
Deimos arched an eyebrow wing at Sabriel and looked over to his mother. A chill ran down his spine at her smile and he picked up Zir, hugging him tightly. "Mother?"
Jizzy stood and began to close in on Deimos, that evil smile still plastered on her face. "We need a bear for our zoo.."
"FORGET IT!" He shouted and tried to scurry back.
Chin couldn't help it anymore - she doubled over laughing at their expressions. This was too funny!
Sabriel hissed at Jizzy and darted backwards, nearly bonking into Deimos as he did. He scrambled behind the older boy for protection. Sometimes you just had to choose life over pride.
Jizzy face was mocking evil, though frigening all the same. "Give him here Deimos." SHe said tauntingly.
"No!!!" He said, holding Zir in one hand as he turned to pick up Sabriel and began a mad dash from the room. A few minutes before he would have left the babe there to fend for himself, btu Sabriel was in his crew now, and it was his job as Captain to defend his crew.
Sabriel squeaked in surprise, finding himself scooped up into the air. He wanted to squeeze his eyes shut - no brave crewmember ever did that, so he kept them open and instead buried his claws into Deimos' shoulder. Scary, creepy person! She wouldn't get Zir!
Deimos zoomed across a corner, ducking into the living room, slamming the door with him bum behind them.
Jizzy came to the door, smirking. "Deeimos.." SHe called out tauntingly, she was just palying with him now.
Deimos looked down at Sabriel. "Okay, mission one.." He let Sabriel down and stuffed Zir into his claws. "Go, take Zir, and hide. Mother can't find you, understand!"
Sabriel hesitated a moment, then stuffed the bear's arm into his mouth, so he could take off at a fast crawl towards the hallway. Deimos had better distract her! The fear of Jizzy was so great he didn't even think about stealing Zir now.
With a lodu crash, the door swung open revealign the evil faced Jizzy in the doorway. 'We need the bear.." SHe said, trying to stuiffle her laughter.
Deimos took a defensive stand, glaring at Jizzy. "Never!!" He said and lunged at her. Not to attack, but to tickle. He knew his mother's weak spot. Witha well placed flicker under the underarm she was down, laughing like a maniac.
Sabriel chanced a look back, alerted by the sound of the door crashing open. Deimos blocked his view. Relieved, he scooted on, finding the door to the hallway mercifully open. It was hard work getting Zir through.
Now which way? He could still hear Jizzy laughing in the living room, so they had a little more time. "Mrrrf." he muttered thoughtfully through Zir. The entrance hall was close...better than going outside, where it was cold. Thinking quickly, the cat Mishap headed off down the hallway, hoping the way wasn't as long as it looked. Maybe Deimos could let him into their room (if he ever escaped) and Jizzy would never find them.
"Ok.. Ok. i surrender.. I let up." Jizzy said, trying to breath as she continued to laugh hard.
Deimos stopped his asault, triamhant, stuck his tounge out and strode out into the hallway. "Sabriel!" He cried out. "We've won!" He wanted Zir back.
Hearing the call, Sabriel stopped, turning slowly to face Deimos. The Jizzy wasn't chasing them anymore? But...he still had the bear. And maybe she was making Deimos say that because she'd won. He started to move backwards, not taking his eyes off him.
Deimos narrowed his eyes as he spotted Sabriel backing away. What the hell did he think he was doing.. "You and I won, Sabriel.." He said, taking steps towards him.
Jizzy emerged from the room, clutching her side, still iggling slightly. "You play dirty, Dei." She saidm, stickign her tounge out at him before going back into the toy room.
The combined threats were terrifying. He turned tail and fled down the hall, actually getting up on all fours and scampering. Zir bounced under his feet. The bear was threatening to trip him.
Sabriel didn't make it to the hall, but he made it to the bathroom. The lights were off inside. He stumbled around in the dark before finding the sink and scrambling behind it, dropping Zir to free him for attack.
Chin waved cheerfully as Jizzy returned - she knew Jizzy had lost from the laughter and shrieking from the other room. Oh, geez. And the kids weren't with her. "Where'd they go?" she asked, hoping Deimos was trustworthy enough to be left wandering. Not that he seemed like a bad kid or anything, but still...
"Get back here!" Deimos shouted.l He'd taken Zir! He scurried down the hall, bursting open the door to the bathroom. 'Give him back!"
"DOwn the hall. They're probably celebrating thier victory." SHe said. She trusted Deimos that he'd take care of Sabriel. He was a crewmate.
The sudden glare of light from the hallway flashed against Sabriel's eyes, though he didn't know it, thinking he was still hidden from sight. He crouched down protectively over the bear and lashed his tails - thumpthumpthump - against the side of the sink. Deimos wasn't gonna get Zir either. Not if he could help it.
Chin dramatically slapped a hand to her forehead. "NOW where'll we get a bear?" She heaved a deep sigh and got to her feet so she could peer out the doorway, nodding sadly. "You're probably right. Listen to them yelling out there."
"Traitor.." He hissed as he left the door open to allow light inside. His red eyes were narrowed and he coudl ehar the thumping from behind the sink. His cloak bristled as he kneeled down. One hand lashed out behind the sink o the left, while his tail went off to the right side. He'd get Zir back.
Jizzy nodded. 'Besides, Deimos is a big sweetheart deep down, no matter whta e might say."SHe siad looking around, her hand swattign away a block. Beneath ti was. "a BEAR!" She excalimed!
Sabriel growled and slashed at the hand, unaware Deimos was trying to get at him from the other side. He tried to keep Zir close with the other paw, rather awkwardly. Its weight was tiring his arm out. He squeezed back even further against the wall.
"Jizzy! You're a genius!" Chin squealed. She scooted over to their Oz zoo and patted a spot between the lions and tigers. "Right here! It'll stop them from fighting each other." Ah well. Acting your age wasn't any fun.
Deimos tail clamped like an iron claw aroudn Zir and began to tug at it. "Let ZIr go!" He ordered, growling angryly.
Jizzy picked up the bear and placed it gingerly between the lion and tiger. "Good idea. We all know lions and tiger argue about whose the better kitty." She said nodding in agreement. It was true, acting you age was no fun. I mean, how fun would Jizzy be if she acted 841?
Sabriel tightened his grip on the bear, hissing angrily at Deimos - what a dirty trick! Struck by thought, he let Zir loose and attempted to lunge past the demon boy. If he couldn't have it, he planned on escaping unscathed.
Chin nodded solemnly. "They do indeed. One more thing..." She picked up a block and put it in front of the two cats, just in case. The fences were really higher than they looked, so they couldn't go jumping over them or anything.
Deimos' tail brought Zir to him and he held the bear tightly. As Sabriel tried to lunge past, he reached out a hand to grab him by the scruff of his collar. "Where do you think you're goin, traitor?" He growled.
Jizzy smilied. "So they can't jump over, good idea." She said as she ste herself to building the monkey cage, around the monkey they had.
Sabriel yelped at being abruptly yanked out of midflight. Once again he was at mercy of the older boy - he certaintly tried to fight back, whipping his tails, snap-crack, squirming, trying to snap at the hand just behind his head, in the hardest spot to reach. Maybe some of the blows landed, but none that he could feel, only making him madder.
Deimos was wrong. He hadn't meant to do it...but he had, and still hadn't...it wasn't his fault.
Chin poked around for another animal to cage while Jizzy was making the monkey's. Panda? No. Giraffe? Nah...ohmygosh. She plucked up a bunch of penguins, reminded of a particular movie she'd watched earlier that year. And it was close to winter, too. The thought made her shiver. 'Spring, you'd better get here soon...'
"D'you think it's a bad idea to put them near our kitty friends? And the bear? He might be fond of penguin."
SOme of the hits did land, though Deimos didn't even flinch. His eyes were a blaze with anger. "Why did you do that, traitor?" He growled at Sabirel.
"I don't think it to wise. I hear penguin is a delicasy in the savvanah." She joked, carefully adding trees and such to their monkey exibit.
Eep! "Not in front of the children!" she protested, closing off little penguin ears with her fingers. "But all right." Using a blue block as an 'iceburg', she started setting up the penguin house near the monkey one.
Sabriel spat in reply, absolutely burning with hatred. He opened his mouth and yowled, 'Meow-MEEEOW!' much to the effect of "Let me down!". If only he could talk...then Deimos would find out a thing or two about traitors.
Chin paused. "Do you hear that, or is it just me?"
Jizzy arched an eyebrow and her ears perked up. "Yeah.. Dear.. You think we should go check it out?" She turned to Chin questiononly.
Deimos dropped the child, his eys still ablaze with anger. "You were supposed to save Zir, not kidnap him!" He siad angrly.
"Better than not, I guess. C'mon," she sighed and got to her feet.
Ouch! Sabriel glared at the hateful Mishap - before he could spring, footsteps sounded in the hallway, coming closer. His ears went straight up and swiveled round as soon as the bathroom door opened.
She glanced back at Jizzy with a worried look. "What's...going on?" Chin inquired of Deimos, noting the two shared the same expression - angry. She only held the door open a crack, to be on the safe side.
Deimos held Zir close to him, looking very odd with the scowl on his face. "He.." But he stopped.. Sabriel was a traitor, but still a crew mate. He'd deal with the cat his own way. "We celebrating that we got Zir back, but he tore.." He said, pointing to one of the apparently hundreds of stiched. He shot a glance at Sabriel that very well said ' I'll deal withyou later.'
Jizzy peered inside as well and nodded. "Another tear? We might as well get you a new.."
"I don't heed a new bear." Deimos said before she could even finish.
"Oh." she blinked. Kids sure could yell when they wanted to, even when they were happy. And it was a wonder that bear stayed together at all, or there was room for another tear...Zir seemed entirely stitches.
Sabriel stuck his tongue out, remembering King. Let him try.
Deimos glared at Sabriel and suddenly wished he'd just ratted the evil cat out. "Let's go fix Zir, Mother.." He said in a low growling tone.
"Yeah we should, before the poor dear falls apart." She said, taking Zir gingerly from Deimos' hands. "It weas a pleasure meeting you CHin adn Sabriel." SHe said smiling and was quickly tugged away by a very moody Deimos.
"P-pleasure!" She called out, but Jizzy was already gone. Bending down to scoop up Sabriel (who only turned his glare on her, tired out from fighting) Chin followed the two out into the hallway and back up to their room, musing on how well that had gone. If only she knew...
The cat child huddled in a sulk, unaware of the long walk to their room. He'd get Deimos back - it was all that rotten liar deserved.

--Jizzy's fear revealed--
Participants- Jizzy, Deimos, Salem, Cato, Catherine, Aphrodite, Nariko and Garreth
Salem just couldn't shake the smile that had taken a firm hold on his lips. The thought that the little cutie in his arms was now his still hadn't lost it's new luster. There was just no way to express how happy he was about the whole thing! You'd think handling so many kids back at home would null this effect, but no, it was just like the first time he had joined his best friend Gairbith. Despite having a massive playground back at his own adoption home he had decided that it was a good idea to have little Cato get to know others like himself as well, and so, he found himself in the playground, hoping to find someone else there for Cato to play with.
"Hmm... Looks like no one's here... Well... Maybe if we wait a while someone will show up, eh, Cato?" He smiled sweetly at the many armed baby.
The former rouge looked up at him with his odd emerald eyes, blinking up at the funny looking thing holding him with all four eyes. He whined softly around his pacifer as all eight pupils shunk at the bright sunlight that suddenly blared into them. Looking away and out at the new place he started burbling spit bubbles.
With a quick look around he realized that the sand box was probably a bad idea when it came to sand eatting, he was too little for a slide just yet, so swings it was! Making his way over to them he gently slipped Cato's legs though the seat's holes and sat him down. "We're going to play on the swings, alright Cato?" He smiled sweetly at the spider-baby.
Cato on the other hand just looked at him as if he was a moron.
"You'll never catch me!" Deimos shouted as he ruushed out into the playground, Jizzy rushing after him. It had so far beena rigorous game of cat and mouse and Jizzy ahd finally found his hiding spot and he was ina wild dash to the slide, home base. Justa little further and he'd be safe. He spotted a few other's but rushed past them. He'f meet and greet after he couldn't get caught.
Jizzy was rushing after Deimos, wind blowing her hair in, then out of her blue eyes. He'd never make it to home base, not if she had anything to sya about it. Her eyes on the playground, she spotted two figures, one she saw was Salem, from the adoption center she'd applied for, the other.. was.. a spider.
She froze in ehr tracks, eyes wide in fear. Her whole body went cold as memories of her death flashed before her. All those spiders over her, the pain of the posion spreading, and before her eyes a spider. He breathing became irregular, she was hyperventialing. Cold sweat graced her forehead as he gasped for air, her lungs giving way to fear.
Her world went black and she fell to the floor.
He blinked as he looked over at the child making a mad dash for the slide. Which one was... Oh! This was tiny Aph's friend! Daimos, right? Hm...? Oh! It's Jizzy! That one he knew well from her visit to his adoption home. Hmmm... Must be playing tag or something. Maybe hide-n-go-see.... "Jizzy!" His eyes widen as she suddenly became short of breath and just toppled over! He started to move toward her then froze. s**t... The baby. Quickly he took the baby back out of the swing and gently put his pampered bottom onto the floor then bolted for the fallen Guardian. "Deimos!!! Please!! Keep an eye on him!!" He pointed back at the baby he had left behind and knelt next to Jizzy gently turning her onto her back and leaning in close so his large, still intact cat ear to her chest to listen. Good. There was still a heart beat. She just.... Fainted? What had caused that one? She looked fine a second ago...
Cato blinked as he was moved and suddenly left behind. Would that nut case make up his mind already?! And where was he going? Who was that? This is boring! I'm hungry...
Deimos tagged the slide and was about to doa victory dance when he saw Jizzy plummet. His eyes widened and when Salem dashed off, he had to try hard not to follow. He glanced at Cato, taking deep breaths. "Hello.." He said.
Jizzy's hand began to twitch and with a sharp blot she sat up, shriking at the top of her lungs. She panted looking around her. "..but.. the spiders?" She asked, she could have sworn she'd felt the hundreds of legs crawling all over her but a second ago.
"You... You alright?" He looked down at her worried, though greatly releaved that she'd at least come to. "Um... Maybe we should keep you over here..." He looked over his shoulder starting to figure out what had happened. She was arachnoph.... Oh... crap... Talqualyn was... This could complicate things... Gently he helped her sit up.
Cato looked up at Daimos with all for multi-pupil and irised eyes. Who was this? He spit his pacifier out before speaking. "Ploooooo... Grah. Splaaagrruff." He was still hungry... "Aaaahhhhh..." He raised all four of arms up at the other mishap. "Ahhhh!!"
Deimos rolled his eyes, but raised up the child all the same. "So, what is it you want?" He said, his tone edgy, though he felt relief as Jizzy sat up again.
Jizzy's heart ebat and bretahing were steadily slowing. "I.. I.. Are there any spiders here?" SHe asked again, her voice littered with fear.. "I.. I.. I'm scared of spiders." Terrified was more like it.
"Well... You see... Um... I just adopted a little one here myself... And... Um... He's kind of..." Reluctantly he pointed over at the two children. He could only pray this went well. Somehow he doubted it...
Cato smiled as he was picked up, well that was one thing down. But he was still... Wait... What are those...? "Ooooo....." He reached up and sharply yanked down on one of the bat wings that sprouted out of Dei's forhead. "Mahhhhhh!!!"
Deimos yelped and growled at Cato. 'DOn't pull those!!!!" He shouted. That ahd hurt..
Jizzy spotted Deimos first and seemed alright but when her eyes fell on Cato her pulse sped up again. Her breathing seized up adn she began to chocke for air.
"MAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!" He screamed right back, clinging to the wing he had decided was now his. It was a pretty color... It was his now.
"Whoa, sh, ,sh, sh, shhh.... It's alright. He's harmle... Shoot. Cato!! Stop that!! Great... Um... Look, stay here if you want, I'll get it." Quickly he left her now and scrambled over the the mishaps quickly and pried Cato's little fingers open and took him from poor Deimos' arms. "I'm so sorry Dei... Are you alright...?" He kept the now flailing little baby out of reach of any part of Deimos."MAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" The spider baby was now crying and screaming at the top of his lungs, flailing as he tried to reach Deimos' wing again, but it was well out of reach.Deimos rubbed his eyebrow wing tenderly. 'I'm fine, but that still hurt.." He said, his eyes going upwards in a meager attempt to see his wing. "Tell him not to pull it again.. It hurts to yank it."
Jizzy didn't calm down, her breath failed her agin and she fell right back down into unconsciousness.
"I'm sorry Deimos... Cato seems to think everything is his. And I mean anything. Um... I guess you can take it as a compliment. He thinks your wing is pretty." He smiles weakly down at the child, feeling bad for the child's pain.
Thud.
Blinking he looked over his shoulder and bit his lower lip. "Um... Daimos... I have to tend to your Mom again... Could you please watch Cato again? Just make sure he doesn't fall." This time he decided that it was a better idea to leave Cato in the swing where he couldn't reach around as easily. With that he was off to make sure Jizzy was alright again. This was not going well...
"MAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!" He was still screaming loudly up until he was put down. In... In this thing again...? Why did he put me here agai.... "Oooo...." And again he went after the wing for a moment before freezing as he heard a soft buzzing. What was that...? He looked around curiously and spotted a dragonfly. He watched it zip around a short distance away, surprizingly quiet all of a sudden.
Deimos follwed Cato's gaze to the dragonfly. He seemed so interested in it. "You want me to catch that for you?" He asked, more out of the need to have something to do than anything else.
Jizzy stirred again, but this time her eyes fluttered open and no scream erupted from her lips. He ehad pounded. "Urgh.. it hurts.." SHe mumbled, her ahdn going to her temple.
"Ah! Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah!!" He smiled and wiggled as he reached for the way out of reach bug. "Ah! Ah!" He opened and closed his little three fingered hands as he watched the dragonfly.
Salem's ears folded his ears back, sitting next to her and keeping an eye on the kids as he spoke. "Calm down. He won't hurt you. I promise. He's harmless. It'll be okay. He won't hurt you. He's just a baby. It's okay." He gently pulled her into a hug, hoping to make her feel better at least a little.
Catherine looked exhausted as she made her way to the playground. Jabir was no where in site and she was so lost. Her salvation? The company of people she cared for. She was told by the trees that Salem, Cato, Jizzy... and what they referrred to as 'the demon' were at the playground.
In her arms she held Nariko, cradling the long haired child in her arms, and in Nariko's arms was a bubble that carried a droopy Aphrodite. Behind them was Garreth who was now commanding the enchanted red wagon to follow, in side carried most of the nessecities that Catherine usually carried. "...Say..lem?" She blinked comming to a halt. "What's going on?"
Deimos' eyes narrowed and he began to slowly approach the dragonfly. Witha swish fo his claock and flurry of hands, he had his hands cup around it smikring. "Got it."
Jizzy was shaking. "I.. spider.. everywhere.." She was relapsing, reliving her death, where spiders were poured over her and she died slowly as the poison overtook her body. "get them off.." SHe muttered, her eyes wide as she shook, oblivious she was in the present, now alive and well.
Salem soothingly ran his hand through Jizzy's hair talking in a sweet soft voice, much like a father would to his little girl. He'd had lots of practice with this back at the adoption home. It was a common thing for one of the children to get the living daylights scared out of them and then having to calm the poor things down. This was no new thing and he had taking care of things far larger in size so holding someone the size of an adult wasn't awkward in the least. "Shhh... There's no spiders here to hurt you. That's just Cato, my baby. He would never hurt you. Look. Deimos and him are playing right now! Deimos isn't getting hurt at all. See? It's alright. Nothings going to hurt you. You're safe. There's not spiders here to hurt you. Everything's alright. You're safe here." He was so caught up with trying to keep poor Jizzy calm that he had completely missed Catherine's arrival along with little Aph and two of his former orphans.
Cato smiled happily as he watched the older mishap catch the dragonfly and start coming back with it. He didn't even have to catch it himself! This was great! As for the others getting there... Well... To be blunt he really didn't give a damn.
Garreth was so oblivious to what was happening, he had a job to do and it was to follow his mother, to protect the wagon and it's treasures! "Wagon stop" He said proudly seeing as his mother stopped in her foot steps. He was so happy his mother gave him the responisiblity over the red wagon. He hand to lean to the side to peer past his mother's large rump though. though he wouldn't say it out loud, he did have to admit he and his mother did share some qaulites... like having a big butt.
Catherine too a deep breath, making her way towards Jizzy and Salem. "Is everything ok?"
Nariko blinked, watching Deimos and the many limbed child in the swing seat. Hmm.. swings sounded nice, maybe that would make Aphrodite happy! She blinked her large eyes wandering over to Salem and Jizzy. Woah, why was Aunt Jizzy taking a nap on the floor? Heh, the world is a crazy place.
Deimos made it over to Cato and opened his hands, the dragnfly buzzing in front of him. He smirked. "Told ya I could catch it.." He said, looking over to Jizzy and spotting the other adults, and Nariko, which meant.. 'Smalls!!"
"Spiders.. get them off.."She whispered. Jizzy was rocking back and forht, her arms limp at her sides, her eyes wide as she continued. She'd flinch from time as the mental spiders bit her, and her breath was rapid and frightened. "I don't want to die.. get them off.. spiders.. get them off." SHe muttered.
Cato giggled happily as the dragonfly buzzed into the air above Deimos' hands. It didn't get the chance to do anything else though, without warning Cato seized the bug out of the air and stuffed the whole thing into his mouth, quickly chewing it to death before it would have a chance to bit him. After a moment he spit out the wings, but continued chewing the bug. It's exoskeleton was still poking him a little so it wasn't ready to be swollowed till it was mushy all over.
"Hmm...? Oh, Cath! Thank goodness! Help me here. I don't know how to get her to stap out of it. I have a feeling I could sit here for hours and tell her everything was going to be okay and it wouldn't help any. Hello Nariko sweetie. Hey there Garreth, eating well? Wait... Where's Aph?" He blinked a little surprised. Aph was always with Cath. Where did she go?
"She's right here", Catherine said quietly as she bent forward, setting Nariko down on the floor the moment she was near Jizzy and Salem. "... she's not doing so well." She said quetly, the answer was so obvious, why wasn't she thinking before?! Just like she told herself before... 'I'm looking for human answers.. for human problems.'. Typical of her.
Nariko gasped at the sight of what Cato did and gripped the bubble she held so dearly, tighter. "BAAH!" She screeched.
"Mama... Why is Auntie Jiji on the floor?" Garreth asked quietly, almost timidly as though not to wake her. "... Is she having a bad dream?" He asked looking over her shaking form.
'Smalls!'
Aphrodite blinked up at the noise. "Day?"
Deimos eyebrow wing arrched. He ate bugs? He's have to be careful with Aphrodite, but he called again anyways. "Smalls!" He cried out.
"I don't know anything.. why do you keep.. no.. spiders.." She was shaking more violently now, her eyes blank and expressionless. "get them off.." Her arms swung useless at her side, istead of swatting madly around her. "Help me.. spiders.. they're hurting me.."
Alright. It's good now. He swollowed, smiling. He was still kinda hungry, but that would do as a snack for now. Problem was that now he wanted to play. "Maaahhh!" He wiggled at Deimos happily flailing his arms. All six of them which included the small pair on his back.
"Do you have water on you? Maybe if we splash her with some she'll wake up? And what's wrong with Aph? I've taken care of lots of kids all shapes and sizes. I might know how to help. If I don't I can probably find out from someone el-ack!" He quickly backed off as Jizzy suddenly flailed. He was quite tough physically, but that didn't ,mean getting back handed by someone didn't hurt!
" Yes.. Yes I do. Garreth get the watter for Mama." Catherine said calmly.
Garreth nodded, ooh! Another job! He bounded for the wagon rummaging through the food and toys.
"Jizzy..." Catherine in a more serious tone. "I want you to follow my voice and listen. It's ok... You need to wake up Jizzy."
"Day!" Aphrodite perked up a bit from inside the bubble. The bubble was there for health reasons today, Catherine was afraid that she stop in midflight and drop for no reason and so magical bubble to the rescue.
Nariko waved over to Deimos, maybe he could help.
Deimos looked over at Cato and gave a sigh, picking the babe up. He felt liek a babysitter. He trod over to Nariko, avoiding looking at his mother in her weakened state.. "How are you feeling Smalls? Smalls's sis?"
Jizzy's shaking stopped a bit, her arms just limping at her sides. "Catherine? Catherine, get the spider's off me!" She said, her voice low but so full of fear. She was stuck somewhere in the middle between a memory and reality.
He sighed softly. Well at least Jizzy seemed to have come around a little more. That's good. He supposed it made sense. He had run into things like this when children didn't want comfort from him because they wanted their Mommys or Daddies. It made sense that she'd feel better as soon as someone closer to her and more familiar showed up. He still thought the splash of water might be a good idea though...
Yay! He was being carried again! He happily cuddled against Deimos, his four main arms wrapping themselves around the other mishap, the two smaller ones at his back tucking themselves against his back. He didn't know who all these people were, but that was okay, he wasn't so hungry anymore and her was being carried. He looked up at the bright red wings that jutted out of his forhead again. Oh yeah! "Heeheeeee!" And again he took hold of the nearest wing and pulled it down, more gently this time, and promptly stuck the tip in his mouth and started to suckle affectionatly on it. It was his pretty thing!
She took a deep breath. "Jizzy... I'll help you get rid of the spiders." she said as she mocked brushing off spiders from Jizzy's body, turning her head to see if Garreth had found the water yet.
He was finding everything but! Milk, juice, mangos, apples, chocolate, and toys. Everythign but bottle water like his mother had asked him to find. Stumped, he pushed more aside, finally finding it under Ed's butt. "Bad Ed! Hiding Mama's water." He said as he put the doll back down. Picking up the bottle with his mouth he made his way back towards Catherine. "Mama!" He mouthed around the bottle. "I founth its!"
Aphrodite admited that she felt a littl ebetter, but she just felt so tired and drained. Like she was running on low batteries. "Aff-di-ee kays." She saigh with a tiny yawn.
Nariko beamed up Deimos and then blinked at Cato, who was chewing on Deimos's brow-wing. *"Fwahbaaahwapple ski-chie waah." She said pointing up at him.
Catherine smiled nodding as she carefully took the bottle of water out of his mouth, setting it to the side in case it was nessasary.
* " Pwahh-streee bluuubububuu do."
Aphrodite giggled quietly at her sister's comments.
*= Translation * " Excuse, I think you have a baby attached to your forehead" * " I think you should remove it."Jizzy's breathing became slightly slower, calmer and her arms came around so she was hugging herself tight. She didn't really register to the name Jizzy. It wasn't her real name, nor the name she went by when this memory happened, but the tone calmed her anyways. The real world was coming back to her slowly.. "Catherine? Salem?" She said, as thier figures finally became clearer before her eyes. "I but.. the spiders.. when I am?" She asked, yes when. WHat year was it?
Deimos rolled his eyes and began to wiggle his wing, pulling up upwards till it was out of Cato's reach. "That's mine, you know." He said, his tone low as he sat down by Nariko.
Well, it looks like they wouldn't be needing the water. Good. He'd feel kinda bad splashing her in the face with it. She was starting to come back into reality, but he didn't know how she would react to the fact that Deimos had brought Cato over so now the little spider baby was a lot closer. Still... He didn't say anything considering the fact that she was going to have to get over this fear real quick if she was going to take care of the particular baby she'd adopted from his own adoption home. It seemed she didn't know what a Drider was and this seems to have been something she should have asked about. He could only hope that would work out... On the other hand he also wanted her to get along with the baby that he had adopted. He didn't expect her not to be scared, but he hoped she didn't go and pass out again. "You're in the playground in the Magical Mishaps HQ." He had simply thought she'd accidentally said the wrong word.
The wing tip slipped out of his mouth and he whined softly as it did, grumbling a soft, "Mahh..." But he didn't go after it again. It was near by so it was fine. Now he was looking over at the new people, now that they were a lot closer. He blinked at Nariko for a moment. Her hair was pretty. And promptly he took hold of it, giving it a good yank with a happy, "Mah!"
".. It's also the begining of November of the year 2005." She said, incase she didn't misword it.
Nariko's eyes flared as her hair was pulled, she didn't yelp, she didn't cry, or she didn't sniffle. She got even. Whipping about in circular motion, one arm around Aphrodite's bubble. She smacked Cato on the top of his head with a might balled up hand. "BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" She screamed almost like a war cry.
Aphrodite blinked, covering her ears.
Garreth blinked as well, furrowing his brow with worry. "Pweaase.." He squeeked. "Don't fiiight.."
"2005.. 2005" SHe siad mulling over the number in her head and sighed.. "I.. I sorry." She said, taking deep breaths. SHe glanced over at Deimos and at the sight of Cato her pulse and breaht quickened, but she didn't pass out. SHe held a hand to her forehead and averted her eyes. "I.. I have.. an irrational spider phobia." Irrational my foot, she had plenty of reason to be terrified of the things.
Deimos hid a snigger. 'You don't yank at people, spiderkid. You deserved that smack." He said, bouncing the babe up and down slightly.
"AHHHHHH!!!!!!" The two little arms at his back took hold of Deimos' cloak so he wouldn't fall, ignored the bouncing, and leaned forward. The war for who would retain ownership of Nariko's pretty hair! All four of his main arms flailed outward and clapped her over the head in turn before cuddling back against Deimos.
"Huh? Oh, no... Not again..." He decided that Catherine had a good hold on the situation so he was going to handle the kids. He'd quickly learned that Cato didn't back down so leaving him for Deimos to handle was probably not going to go well. "Cato, no! You can't have Nariko's hair! I know it's pretty but it's not yours!"
A whimper left her lips as she then used her free hand to slep Cato's cheek. "AAAAHHH!!!" She screamed and then retracted, cuddling the ball that held Aphrodite. "Sissssis..." She said quietly, almost reassuringly.
Aphrodite looked up at Nariko and blinked at her, waving a bit with a small smile.
Catherine blinked and hugged Jizzy tightly. "It's ok to be afraid, but Cato's not a spider... He's a mishap." She smiled. Lifting up the bottle of water. "Here drink, calm down. " She helped her sit up. "I know I can't ask you to get over your fears, but at least I can tell you we'll be here when you face them."
"Mama..." He tugged lightly on his shirt. "Nari and the other baby are fighting..."
"I.. know."
"Cato?" SHe almsot whimpered as she spotted him. She was right.. he he was a mishap, nto a spider, that didn;t stop her from beignscared though. "I.. Could we go sit in the terrace?' She asked, mroe like begged. She coujldn't overcome her fear this quickly, not yet.
Deimos released Cato onto the floor, prying him from his cloak. "Gods, don't tug that either!!! You're hurting people!" He said, much more angrier than he had inteded.
"AHH!" He yelped as he was hit again, tears welling up in all four of his odd eyes. "A-AHHHHHHHHHH!!!" He started to cry as he leaned over again, once again clinging to Deimos' cape-like wings. Once again he flailed all four of his arms at Nariko, but only connected half of the attacks as he was scooped up by his adoptive father.
"Cato! No!" He gently lefted the baby away from Deimos with one arm as he forced Cato's little fingers to let go of Deimos' poor wings. "Cato you can't go and take everything you see! Things don't work like that! You have to stop!"
This of course was all gibberish to the spider-baby and he had started to cry at the top of his little lungs. He wanted his things! Why was this guy always taking his things away?! They were his! This wasn't fair! Not fair at all!! Now he had resorted to slapping around Salem.
This was quickly nulled as Salem brought up one of his large hands and caught each of Cato's little ones until all four were in his grasp. "No. No Cato." He said softly but firmly.
Catherine gave her a weary smile. "Of course, Come on.." She stood helping Jizzy to her feet and leading her away to the terrence.
Garreth blinked a bit torn between staying and going with his mother. seeing how things were turning out he decided the latter. Bounding after Catherine and Jizzy. "Come on Wagon! This way." And with those words the red wagon followed.
Aphrodite peeked between Nariko's arms. "Mama.." She said lifting her self up in flight and following, landing inside the wagon.
"Sissisis." Nariko blinked and then crawled onto Deimos's lap. "Daay."
Jizzy took a shaky seat at the terrace. SHe was still trembling. "I'm so sorry I just.." SHe was taking deep breaths. 'It's hard for me..." She whispered.
Deimos felt the small babe crawl up to him and he fingered her hair as he watched Aphrodite fly away. "Is Smalls still sick, Nari?" He asked.
The babe was still crying at the top of his lungs, tears streaming down his face. This wasn't fair! No fair! No fair!! NO FAIR!!! He struggled to get his little hands loose and found that he couldn't get them to budge.
Salem just looked down at the spider-baby and calmly spoke to him, unphased by the loud crying. "Crying like this isn't going to get you anything Cato. You have your own things and toys. You can't have everyone elses. Everything isn't yours."
Slowly, very slowly, the crying died down to a whimper as he looked up at his adoptive father, sniffling. This wasn't fair... "Mah..." He quietly whimpered, "Mahh..."
Salem shook his head, "No. Not yours." He let go of the baby's hands now that he had stopped flailing and pointed down at Deimos. "Those pretty wings belong to Dei. That pretty hair belongs to Nari. Understand?"
"Mah...?" He looked up at Salem confused. But... Those were his...
"No, Cato. Not yours. These are yours." He gently squeezed each of the childs hands. "And this is yours." He ran his hand through the babe's hair soothingly. "And this!" He leaned in and blew onto the baby's tummy!
Cato flailed his little arms in a wild fit of giggles, trying to get him away from his ticklish tummy. "Eeeeehehehehehehehehe!!!"
Salem stopped and smiled, releived to find a smile reflected back at him. He so hated when Cato wasn't happy, but he couldn't exactly let him try and claim everything in sight either.
Water bottle still in hand, she offered it once more to her. ".. It's ok." She offered her a hopeful smile. "Baby steps I suppose... sometimes you gotta be strong, but that takes time and I understand."
Garreth came to a halt, watching his mother and Jizzy talk. He looked over his shoulder spotting Aphrodite, comming closer he nudged his mother a bit. "Mama.. can you take the bubble off?"
She blinked looking at Garreth. "Why?"
"I think she wants a cuddles."
"Oh.." Catherine stood for a moment spotting where Aphrodite had landed. With a simple wave, she dismissed the bubble it's magic gone. Bending over she picked up the tiny tired babe. Holding her gently to her chest, she took her seat once more.
Garreth sat next to her on the floor, his head now rested in his mother's lap.
A litle yawn and a smile appeared on her lips. She nuzzled a bit and stared around, looking a bit.. bored.
Nariko nodded quietly. "Sissisisississs... day" And then waved her arms about as though to explain what was wrong, though it was hard to decifer.
Jizzy took the water thankfully and began to drink, a lot. The shaking was slowing and she was beggining to calm. "Thank you.." She said after she'd had a good 3/4th of the water. "I..I've always been... scared of spiders." She said. "I..I'll try to overcome it though... I want to eb a good example to Dei.. and the new child.." SHe said nodding.
Deimos nodded as if he understood Nariko, when he didn't, not really. He stood though, still carrying Nariko. He looked at the laughing Cato and began to make his way back to his mother, and Aphrodite. "You think i could help her feel better, Nari?"
Catherine held aphrodite close with one hand and petted the top of Garreth's head with the other. " Don't worry about alright?" Her smiled was genuine, but she was worried about how Jizzy was going to handle Talqaulyn.
Aphrodite waved at Jizzy a bit, more so to say hi. "Jiji"
Nariko clung to Deimos's shirt, sighing, looking up at him as he spoke. She shrugged in response, it meant maybe.
Jizzy nodded and chugged down the rest of the bottle of water, her fear slowly subsiding. "Right.." She said, a weak smile creasing her lips. "So.. How has Aphrodite been doing? Is she any better?"
Deimos took a seat at the table, craddling Nariko in his arms. He was wondeirng if Aphrodite was alright as well, so he looked to Catherin for an answer.
Salem bit his lower lip as he watched the others walk away, leaving him along. Well... That hadn't gone well... He sighed, walking back to the swings and putting the baby in one. Coming around behind he gently started to push him so he swung just a little. He didn't want to scare the living daylights out of Jizzy again so he didn't think he should go over there with the baby. At the same time he couldn't just leave the baby all on his own so here he would stay.
Cato blinked all four odd eyes up at the catman curiously, not understanding why they were here... Again... But smiled as he began to swing back and forth. This was kinda fun!
A single green eye opened, it was nice sitting here with his momma... but he was bored. Bounding towards the red wagon he decided to see if he could offer a peace item to Cato. Rummaging through the toy he picked up a teddy of moderate size. Carrying it in his mouth over towards the swings.
Catherine sighed quietly again. " She's.. ok.." Blinking a bit, she turned to look over at Salem. "She's seem a bit more cheerful playing with Nariko and Dei, is it ok if I leave her with you?"
"I don't mind." Jizzy said with a small smile and a nod. She was recovering fast, though still slightly shaken.
Deimos nodded as well. "I'll take good care of Smalls." He said, trying to reassure Catherine. He'd make sure Smalls felt better.
Gently he pushed the swing, smiling at how happy it seemed to make the baby. He didn't mind playing with the baby himself, but he thought Cato should play with other kids. He suppoed this would just have to... Wait... Garreth? Why was he coming this way?
Cato was oblivious to the world around him, content to swing there, giggling happily.
Placing the Teddy bear in Cato's lap, Garreth smiled. "This is for Cato, can we play together?"
Catherine smiled, she stood up once more placing the tiny baby in Nariko's lap. "I know you will." Her voice was calmed. "Oh and if you need anything.. it's all in the wagon." Nodding to them she began to make her way to the swings and Salem.
"Jiiiijiii... sssisisiisisssssssi" Nariko burbled mock cradling Aphrodite, much like how Diemos was holding her.
Aphrodite nuzzled a bit happily agains tthe soft jumper that Nariko was wearing.
Making his way towards the terrace, pushing the door aside, he took a deep breath of fresh air. Walking up behind Jizzy and the rest of the crew, he blinked watching Salem and the spider baby at the swings. Waving towards them a bit with his typicaly wide smile. Turning his gaze down at Jizzy and the rest of the group. "Yo sweet cheeks... what's up?"
Jizzy chuckled though her cheeks flsuhed slightly. SHe wasn't too used to compliment. "Nothing much, and.. sweet cheeks?" SHe asked, smiling at him.
Deimos smirked at Nariko's actions and looked up at Duke. " 'Lo." He said to him, rocking the two babes slightly.
Cato blinked as the wyrmling dropped a teddy bear into his lap. He looked down at the teddy a little confused for a moment before catching up with what just happened. "Maah!" He happily hugged the little bear with all four of his main arms, cuddling it. "Mah..."
He laughed softly, nodding. "Of course you can play, Garreth. He's very small though so you know to be careful Gar." With that he took Cato out of the swing and gently put him on the ground.
He found himself once again on the ground, but now he had a teddy so he didn't seem to mind at all. At the same time he didn't seem to be paying attention to Garreth either...
Garreth smiled his always caring smile, he lowered himself down so that he was laying on the floor. "Come on Cato, you can climb, can't you?"
Catherine took a moment to catch her breath, it seemed she move a little faster to get towards the swings a little faster. "Hey.. Salem."
Nariko giggled at Duke, he was so silly.. saying weird stuff like sweet and cheeks.
Aphrodite blinked up at Diemos, smiling at him, she then waved shyly at Duke.
He alughed a bit , patting Jizzy on the head. " Don't worry about, I make up cute nicknames for everyone." He winked at Deimos, acknowledging his hello. " Catherine called me saying something was wrong with Aphrodite and asking me to go out to get flower nectar of all things." He sighed shaking his head. "Do you know how hard it is to find if you don't know where you're looking?"
Salem smiled down at the two. That was so cute. Seeing that Cato wasn't getting the idea and not at all surprised, he picked up the child and sat him on Garreth's shoulders. "Not hold on Cato." He quietly told the little mishap before letting him go, though watching him closely to make sure he didn't fall.
Cato was a little confused as he was moved, but very quickly unlatched his first set of arms and clung tightly to Garreth's neck as he started to slip, the teddy however remained tightly gripped by his second set of arms.
He couldn't help but laugh softly as he shifted Cato back to where he should be. If there was something he had learned very quickly it was about Cato's ability to cling to things and not fall off. Once he was sure Cato had firmly gotten a hold, but wasn't choking Garreth either he turned his attention to Catherine.
"Hey there Cath. I'm sorry about all this. I thought Cato here could use some friends. Didn't expect all this to happen like it did... I don't think Deimos is too happy with him. He did however keep his temper very nicely. That's something to be proud of I think. Cato was being pretty bad to him with all the yanking and pulling and he still kept his temper. Pretty mature for a kid his age. There aren't many of thoughs, I should know." He nodded lightly as if agreeing with himself.
"Jizzy's done a very good job raising him I think. That's good. I hope that she does as good a job with Talqualyn. He's a shy and very meek little thing... I was really worried about him. He gets bossed around so much and does nothing in his own deffence. Deimos seems very capable though. I can only hope that He'll accept Tal as a little brother and protect him, despite how different they are. Well at least he's healing up well after losing three of his legs..." He frowned lightly at that thought. Poor little guy...
"So, what do you think of Cato. I've only been with him a couple of days, but his habits are hard to miss. He's obviously got a strong 'mine' complex. Seems he's already half way down the road to even saying it right. Deffinatly knows what it means though... Problem is he seems to think everything is his. I've had to hide things so he won't get into them. Aside from that he seems like a good enough kid though." He smiled affectionatly down at the little spider-mishap. He'd obviously allowed himself to get attached to the odd little one, something he did not allow himself with the other kids back at his adoption home. It was usually a bad idea to get hooked an kids that you may never see again.
Gareth grinned and happily made his way to the slide. Carefully climbing up he laided himself down on the plastic slide and slid head first down!
Nariko began blowing spit bubbles to make Aphrodite and Deimos laugh.
"Oo..." Aphrodite popped one that got too close to her face.
"... you're doing a great job too Salem." She smiled a bit taking a seat in one of the 'big kid' swings. "Cato's going to grow up to be a heart breaker if he keeps this up." She laughed a bit, gripping the ropes of the swings. She hadn't noticed Duke had already arrived like she asked. Swingign gently back and forth she smiled. " You're a great father Salem, you'll set him straight... and you're right.. Jizzy has done such a wonderful job raising Deimos, I can't beleived he's already grown so fast..." Speaking of which... "Do you think I'm.. a good mother? .. I know it's a silly thing to ask, but Aphrodite's not doing so well.. she's.. been tired for the past week.. not like herself.. I thought she was sick and treated it like a cold... but.. that's not what it is. I asked Duke for help... but I need you too. I'm afraid for her. She's alright with Diemos and Nari.. they make her happy.. Do you think.. I .. make.. her happy too?"
Duke looked down at the tiresomed baby, he sighed. Well he had a job to do. "Yo CATHERINE! " He yelled waving her over. "I got what you asked!"
The many eyed baby sure enough clung tightly even when Garreth got up and started to move. Where were they going now? He blinked as they climbed then Garreth laid down. What was he... He didn't get a chance to even try to figure it out. They slide quickly down the slide and were now back on the ground. The baby's eyes widened as he silently clung. He wasn't sure if he had liked that... That was a little scary... What if he fell? But... He hadn't fallen... This was new and he didn't quite knoe what to make of it yet...
The scruffy cat-man blushed slightly. He'd been expecting an opinion on his new baby, not on himself. He knew he was a good father, after all he had to raise many children back at his Home, by himself for quite a while too before Duke joined and soon after Catherine, but he hadn't expected the compliment to come out like that. "U-uh... Thank you." He couldn't help the smile that pulled at the corners of his lips. "I try. You do a good job too, Cathy-Baby. Seriously! I've had to take care of lots of babies Aph's size and let me tell you, you're got yourself a little doll. Playing hide-n-seek with someone an inch or two tall can be Hell right before bed time... You're doing great. She loves you very much and that's real easy ta see. All kids get sick every now and again and I'll help with Little Aph in any way I can. What is it you nee---ACK!! Duke you crazy dumba.... Um... Stupid-head! You have a vendeta against peace and quiet?!" He glared at his long haired coworker, grumbling something about Duke's 'wonderful timing'...
" You okies Cato?" he asked as he began to climb back up the ladder... well no puke hit the back of his head so that must be a good sign.. right?
Catherines' faced flushed as she gripped the ropes tightly. She smiled, she needed to hear thoses words from Salem... she winced as the birds flew away scared by Duke. "Have you ever heard of peace of mind? .. Huh? You got the nectar?!"
Nariko winced, boy was Duke loud, she wouldv'e covered her ears, but she didn't want to drop Aphrodite.
Aphrodite covered her ears. "Bleeeaaaa."
Duke shrunk a bit, raising his hand. "Sorry." He grinned. Digging into his pockets he pulled out two glass bottles. One had a picture of a flower while the other had a piece of fruit. He settled it on the table.
He sighed softly. Duke was a real great guy, he really was, but sometimes... It wasn't hard for him to pull himself together and catch up with what was happening. "Nectar?" He looked at Catherine a little confused. Why had she asked Duke for that? Honey was easier to get. Well, there was to be a reason for something so specific so he waited to see if he got an answer.
Cato stuck the tip of his tongue out in the cutest way possible. He didn't understand speech yet so there was no way he could answer. He just stared back. On the other hand he hadn't started crying to signal that something was wrong or that he didn't like it and there was no sign of him doing so in the near future so it was pretty safe to say he was okay.
" Wel.. I got Aphrodite's first quest... I've been running around all day trying to figure it out.. and not until an hour or two ago did I figure it out. She's been.. mopey and outof energy lately. That's why I thought she was sick, but it turns out she isn't she just needs a pick me up." she stood up, stepping on her tip toes she gave him a light kiss on the cheek smiling she grabed his hand, dragging him the short distance to the terrace.
And down the slide they went again! "Wheeeee!" He sqeeuled.
Nariko blinked as she was approached by her mother and Salem. "Boo!"
"Boo?" Aphrodite blinked, perplexed.
"BOO!"
"Ooo.. Boo!"
"Boo..?" He blinked, he was confused, but his confusion was tossed aside as soon as Catherine had arrived to the table. "I got you both, since you seemed a bit urgent about it." He smiled again at Salem. "How things holding up Salem? ... I left Fango and Eddy in charge while I went shopping for Aph's 'medicine'. "
Cato clung once again, but this time he saw it coming. Well... This wasn't so bad... He still wasn't getting hurt... He could get used to this... The spider mishap obviously wasn't as tense as he was the first time down. Well, that was a good sign, right?
"Oh... Is that what it is? You don't have anything to worry about anymore then. I can get that stuff easily enough. I've had to handle that before. I'll just have to order a small amount every now and then for you. I don't have any in stock at the moment sense I don't have any need, but I'll be happy to get you more as soon as it starts running low. I suggest giving her a tablespoon... Um... A drop of it every day." He blinked a bit as he was kissed only to suddenly get dragged off. Quickly he started to walk on his own accord smiling at Duke as they grew closer. "I'm alright. I was trying to see if Cato would make friends and I thought this would be the best spot. At first it wasn't going so hot, but it seems Gar has attached himself to him... Or... Attached Cato to himself... Depends on how you look at it I guess..."
Garreth stopped, taking a breather. Climbing off the bottom of the slide and took a rest. " Having Fun?" He smiled a bit as he yawned.
Catherine smiled, taking the bottle with the flower label on it and bringing it before her. Leaning foreward, she kissed Nariko's forhead. "Such a good girl, taking care of your sister." Catherine praised as she carefully took Aphrodite from Nariko, sitting down herself. With her free hand she juggled the bottle open, attached to the top was a dropper. Perfect. sucking up the liquid in the tube, she smiled down at Aphrodite. "Come on.. sweetie.. open your mouth."
"No."
"Please, baby..."
"Uh-Uh."
Catherine slumped, but the door of opportunity opened, or should I say mouth, as the thiny babe yawned. Taking this she gently placed the tip of the dropper in her mouth.
Blinking at the foriegn object, the contents leaked slightly onto her tongue, Catherine dared not to squeezed the rubber top. It was sweet.. and it tasted good! Sucking quietly, Cathering didn't need to squeeze as Aphrodite had by herself began to drink.
Duke blinked taking a deep breath, while watching the tiny baby drink. "She's so cute.. it's mind boggling."
using her tiny hands to gently pushing away the dropper, she finally swallowed the last drop she could, smacking her tiny lips with pure joy. "YEE!" She squeelled as she wiggled with happiness and not feeling a bit tired at all!
Catherine smiled. "Oh Aphrodite! You're better! I'm so happy." She could cry, leaning forward placing small little kisses all over the tiny wasp mishap.
aphrodite was so happy she felw right out of her mother's hands." Mama! Mama!" She squeeked at her new form. "I'mma big girl!"
Catherine gawked, gasping. "Oh sweetie!"
"Oooo!" Nariko pointed at her big sister, who grew before her eyes!
Deimos watched, smiling as Aphrodite grew. He'd seen several of his friends do it no, so it was nothing surprising. Though, he had though she might have grown a bit.. bigger. SHe could still fit in the palm of his hand.
"Smalls is still very small though.." He commented.

--Accidents in a Winter Wonderland--
Participants: Jizzy and Rico <3
It was already very cold in Gaia, despite that it was only November. A snowstorm had hit just the night before and it was still snwing lightly down upon Jizzy, who sat outside a skating rink, only her large sweater and some pants to shield her from the cold.. but she'd gotten a message. Rico would meet her here and she was damned if she was going to miss the meeting.
Rico grumbled slightly and hunched his collar higher around his neck. Unlike his sister he wasn't fond of the cold, so when she'd approached him earlier and mentioned that she needed to have a package picked up at the ice skating rink he'd refused.
The only reason he was now outside and heading for said ice skating rink was because she'd played dirty and called in favors and cited that he needed to get more sun.
Sun. Ha. There's no sun out today, all clouds... stupid Aeon....
Jizzy shivered the cold biting through her inapropriate winter wear, but it was all she had really. Not having lived in Gaia long, she wsn't used to the cold much. She gave another shudder and looked around. Where was Rico? The note said he'd be here. She watched people mill about and she pulled her knees up onto the bench, hoping for some extra warmth.
Rico began hopped up, looking around for the person his sister had described. Vaguely. Very vaguely. Now that he thought about it many people had short brown hair and... he paused midthought, having caught sight of a familar face.
"Jizzy?" he called.
Jizzy's head perked up from where it had been burried in her knees. She stood, looking for him and once locating him waved. "Hey Rico. I'm glad you made it!" She said. She had been begining to worry he wouldn't come at all.
Rico quickly made his way through the crowd, but tilted his head at Jizzy's words, "made it...?" he asked curiously, "oh, you're the one who has a package for Ae'?"
"Package?" Jizzy asked, arching her eyebrows in question. "I don't have a package for Chao." He ruffled around in her pant pockets, pulling out the scrap of paper that had been slipped under her door. "I just got this this morning."
Rico took it and arched a dark eyebrow, "...we have been decieved."
"Decieved?" Jizzy said, taking the note back and shivering slightly. Seh read it over and cursed. "Damn... I'm sorry. I.. urggh.. Chao's done it again!"
Rico laughed slightly and shook his head, "'short brown hair, female, will recognize' so that's what she meant.... And don't blame yourself, my sister's restlessness is a force of nature at times." He paused, noticing that she was shivering and quickly took off his overcoat and draped it over her shoulders.
Instictinvely she pulled it close around her, but her mind caught up. "Oh, Rico. Won't you get cold?" She asked, starting to remove the jacket, despite the fact she was just starting to warm up and despite the fact it smelled nice.
"I'll be fine, you look like you really need it," he replied, mindlessly reaching over and flicking her hair up over the top of the collar with a smile, "what're you doing out without a proper jacket?"
"I don't own one.." She said, though in truth she couldn't afford one. She barely made it by with the month's paycheck and now with the letter she'd gotten that she'd be getting another child, a second job would be needed.
Rico frowned and looked around, he'd heard a bit from Chao that Jizzy wasn't very well off and it didn't sit well at all with the teen. Unluckily his job didn't allow him to offer posistions, nor would he want to put the woman in danger and for some reason he doubted Jizzy would appreciate a straight out check. He'd think of something, but for now.
Sighting a familar store he grinned and gently grabbed her hand, pulling her along without a word as to why.
Jizzy felt herself lurch forard and she stumbled slightly as Rico pulled her along. She held his jacket close to her, making sure it didn't slip off her. 'Where are we going.."
"Just across the street," Rico replied, pausing at said street until traffic had stopped then crossing and pulling Jizzy up the stairs and into the warm confines of the well lit store.
He looked around then looked to Jizzy and let go of her hand, striding over to a nearby wall whose coats looked to be about her size and surveyed them, "which do you like best?"
Jizzy opened her mouth an strode up slightly to a royal violet coat. Purple had always been her favorite color, butone glance at the price tag and she moved away, despite how nice the coat looked. "I can't have any of them.."
Rico didn't answer her. Instead he pulled down the coat that had caught her attention and held it up, beside her. He tilted his head, took his own jacket carefully off her shoulders, then gently eased Jizzy into the new one and scampered back a few steps.
"Mmm...."
JIzzy shiffled in the new jacket, it fit her like a glove and the warm fuzzy inside warmedher up to her bones. She instictively puled the collar up, but remembered the price and pulled it off hurriedly. "Rico. I can't have it, It's too expensive." She said, putting it back on the rack.
Rico smiled at her inital reaction, then frowned when she put it back on the rack.
"It's also a necessity," he replied with a pointed look, taking the jacket back off the rack, striding past her, heading towards the counter.
The woman there looked up from her magazine and smiled, "were you able to find everything sir?" she asked and Rico nodded as he pulled out his wallet.
"Yes, thank you."
JIzzy rushed over to him and placed a hand on his. "No Rico. You don't have to.." She whispered, her face flushing.
Rico shrugged and smiled innocently, "I know, but I want to."
He paused and, seeing that she probably wasn't going to give up without a fight he handed the cashier his GoldCard and placed his other hand on her's. "Jizzy, firstly, you need this, I won't have you freezing when I can do something about it. I'm glad I can do something about it and I want to do it, so... let me? Please?"
Jizzy gave a deep sigh and averted her eyes. "Alright.. but I promise to pay you back" She said, waging a finger at him.
Rico glared and grabbed at the finger, "no. It is a gift if you try to repay me I swear I won't talk to you until you stop."
Jizzy gave a small shocked gasp.. "A.. alright" she said softly, though she deep down still had to stiffle some intention to pay him back.
Rico gave a triumphant little noise and smiled, glad the silent treatment would not be needed at this point.
"Please sign here," the cashier interupted handing him a pen. Quickly scrawling down his signature on both reciets he took the bag and immediately removed the jacket, holding it out to Jizzy.
Jizzy took it silently and pulled it over herself, it fitted her well. She smiled meekly at the suit and launched herself upon Rico, hugging him tightly. "thank you*
Rico 'ooff'ed at the suddenly tackle, nearly falling over. Regaining his balance he smiled and returned the hug gently, "you're welcome."
Jizzy wiped some happy tears that were forming in her eyes before she pulled away. She snugged the jacket near her and smiled up at him. "Are you going to go back home, now.. I mean.. There was never any package."
Rico smiled back then shrugged, "um... I'm not sure really. It seems a waste to just head home now...."
Jizzy smiled broadly. "Let's go ice skatting then. My treat!" She gripped his ahdn and began to lead him out of the store. This was her little way of being able to pay him back.
Rico blinked and let himself be dragged along, looking fairly cheery dispite the fact that ice skating meant ice and thusly more cold. At least it was with Jizzy.
Jizzy went up the the man at the skate stand. "Two pairs please. A size 8 1/2 and.." She turned to Rico, pulling out a tattered old leather wallet that seemed to have been around longer than Rico. 'What shoe size are you?"
Rico blinked away from looking at the wallet, "and a size 11 1/2."
"And a 11 1/2" she told the man, who handed her two pairs of skates. She rufffled around the wallet, which seemed rather bare for the proper bills and after digging in the coin pocket for a few minutes had paid and handed Rcio his skates.
Rico took the skates with a nod and a slight smile and moved over towards a free bench, waiting until Jizzy was seated beside him to begin putting on the footwear. "I fear I must warn you, I'm not very graceful when it comes to ice skating...."
"I've had a few years to practice, but I'm not very good." She siad, pulling on her skates abnd tying them up quickly. SHe smiled over at him and stood, rather gracefuolly for her normally clutsy self. She offered a hand to help him up onto the ice.
The teen eyed her, doubting the 'not very good statement' but stood and took her hand without protest, carefully standing and fighting for his balance on the slippery surface.
Jizzy chuckled and held his hand tightly, sliding across the ice with an sort of ease she never had on the ground. "You don't do this often, do you?' She asked, her hand helping to keep him steady.
Rico shook his head, carefully following her, "the winter months are more Ae's thing than mine. Give me a nice rainforest over a mountain of snow and ice."
"I lived somewhere very cold right before coming to Gaia, so learning to skate was a must.." She said, leading him along carefully. Now this was one thing she could do right.
"I ended up in the tropics, though I don't really remember ever liking the cold that much..." he replied, practicly clinging to her arm after nearly falling.
Jizzy led him around the rink. "Just relax, Rico. Let yoursefl go. Glide!" She said, gliding a while on one foot.
Rico let out a slight laugh, "you make it sound easy."
Jizzy smiled at him. "That's cause it is. You just have to relax.." She said and began to slowly pull her ahnd from his.
Rico shot her a look but didn't stop her. After they'd sepatated he managed to glide for several seconds... then prompty fell on his face.
Somewhere in the crowd a camera flashed.
Whatever the teen's reply was it was muffled by the ice shavings he'd managed to land in. Pulling his head up he made a face and wiped at his mouth. "I'm fine, cold, but fine."
Somewhere in the crowd a voice called, "I'd give that fall a 7.4, give it a little more finecee man!"
Rico snorted and rolled his eyes.
Jizzy snorted, though it ahd been a concealed chuckle. She brushed is fingers across his chek, getting rid of a few ice shaving that were there. "COme on, you were doing fine ebfore you plummteed." She stood, extending a hand to help him up.
Rico took the offered hand and sighed, "I'm going to fall down a lot, you know that, right?"
"and I'll help you up everytime.." She said with a smile, skating in slow strokes as to show how its done.
Rico followed suit slowly, getting slowly more confident.Still it wasn't long until he fell back into gravity's grip and toppled onto the ice.
Jizzy gigled and held out her hand once more.. "One more round, and we cna go have a tea or something. " SHe said with a smile. "It's cold.."
"Tea... nice warm tea..."Rico murmured, a small, sweet smile tugging at his lips at the thought as he took her hand and was pulled up, quickly finding his balance again.
SHe nodded and led him around once more, before she skid to stop by a bench.. She looked out on the ice. It'd been a long time since she'd skated. "Mind if I go one more round.."
"Nope, go on, I like watching, even if I'm awful at it," Rico replied, placing his chin on his interlaced fingers.
Jizzy nodded a quick goodbye and sped off, quickly gaining speed. SHe sped past the others on the rink and with a flying jump, twirled twice in the air. She was graceful on ice, that was until she landed. The cheap skate gave way and her foot toppled under her, twisting painfully.
"Jizzy!" Rico was on his feet in a moment, ripping the skates off in favor of merely skidding over the ice in his socks towards her fallen form.
Jizzy winced painfully as she tried to stand. Her foot, damn it hurt. Tears brimmed in her eyes though she held it back, and she'd actually been doing something right for once..
Rico dropped to his knees next to her, "don't move it," he instructed carefully, moving his hands over towards the wounded ankle and carefully removing the skate so he could look at the injury.
It had already started swelling inside the ragged sock. Jizzy winced and tears fell from her eyes as she touched it. "Damn.. I I'm suha klutz.."
Rico glared at the skate, "no, the blade literally came off the skate," throwing the man at the skate shop a deadly glare Rico turned his attention back to Jizzy and the injury. "You were goregous, flying through the air, until this faulty thing came off."
Jizzy almost choked and her cheeks went crimson. 'G..gorgeous.." SHe stammered befroe realizing she'd repeated it and averted her eyes. It's just shocked her.. Beneath the sock the ankle ws turning a sickly blue, it was twisted rather badly.
Rico spared her a small, sincere smile then turned his focus back onto the injury, "it's not broken, twisted, you'll have to stay off it for a good while, but thank gods the bone didn't give."
Jizzy gave a sigh.. "My manager's gonan kill me for this.." She thought aloud. She was supposed to help at the bookstore, and then at night, how was she supposed to wait tables if she couldn't walk properly.
Rico frowned, "they should give you medical leave. I can write a note, or talk to them, if they give you trouble."He looked around and then took off her other skate and simply swept her into his arms, "let's get someplace warm."
Jizzy wrapped her arms around his neck instictively. "I can't take leave.. I have to work.." SHe muttered. "How am I supposed to take of Dei if I can't pay the bills?"
Rico's frown deepend, it was a valid argument, but the wound would only get worse if Jizzy insisted on walking on it, "Ae' and I can help out with whatever you lose by not going. If you want on this it might get worse or infected."
Jizzy frowned at the thought of infection. She couldn't risk beign off ehr feet for too long. So. she was cornered.. 'Alright.. I suppose, but I'l pay you right back.." She siad, lifting sad eyes to him, cloaking the emotions witha smile.
Rico nodded, pausing momentarily at their bench to sit down pull on his boots, working over Jizzy's form, grab her boots and head off, throwing another meaningful glare at the owner of the skate shop.
"Jizzy... if you don't mind me asking, where are you currently working?"
"By day.. I work at a bookstore in Barton, tHE A&A.. by night, at Gambino's Casino.." SHe said her tone low, slightly embarrased.
Rico frowned, he didn't mind the book store but Gambino's casino... "Er, Jizzy, Ai told me once you preformed a tracking charm on Deimos when they went into the forest, can you do that with anyone?"
She nodded. "THings too.. This one time Deimos lost Zir and I ha to cast a charm for him before he broek the house down. Turns out it was under the bed."
Rico blinked, pausing at a crosswalk and then crossing the street with the crowd, "could you do that with things or people you hadn't met?"
"If I had a picture or knew what it was made out of.." SHe peered at him questionongly. 'why?"
"It's, well, it's my job actually. We're a small network and occassionally people go missing." He paused, realizing how he sounded, "it's not like they attempt to run because we're a mafia or something. Often they get lost trying to get to an excavation site. We're not supposed to harm anything in the environment other than where we dig, then set everything back up, so no roads, just foot paths. I know my seniors have been trying to find someone to help, but as I said, it's small. But..." he breifly stopped and thanked a woman who had held the door to the nearly deserted cafe open for them. "Well, the exchange rate to gold is quite nice. Would you mind if I mentioned your name to them?"
A job.. A good job and wrokign with Rico. Plus she'd practice her magic. Jizzy's eyes lit up. "I wouldn't mind at all!" She exclaimed a bit too exitedly. She intrictively began a little jig in his arms, but winced when her ankle tapped into her other foor. Maybe a jig was a bad idea.
Rico smiled, glad she seemed so excited, "I'll be sure to mention you then." Glancing around he quickly moved towards an open booth and set her down gently on the cushions quickly moving to his bag and pawing through, looking for the bandages he was sure were in there somewhere.
"What kind of places do you go to looking for things?' Jizzy asked, bitting her lip as she felt pain as he ankle was set down. It'd be best if she didn't think of it.
"Lot's of differnt places, different worlds. It really depends on who's requesting we do a search. Usually it's just museums or the occassional private owner who wants some long lost family heirloom or something," with the bandages firmly in hand Rico called over one of the waitresses and quietly requested some ice before turning back to Jizzy's ankle.
Jizzy bit her lip as Rico began to bandage her foot, so hard infact, she began to to bleed slightly from it. She took deep breaths, determined to continue conversation. "and.. how do you get to the other worlds?" She asked. Though she was getting back into her magic, she still didn't trust herself with a transportation spell of that magnitute.
Rico, gnawed on his own lower lip, puzzeling over how to answer, when he suddenly paused mid-wrap, glancing up at Jizzy's deep breathing, "oh, gods, I'm so sorry," he rested the unused tape on the cushion and went back to dig through his bag, pulling out a small packet of pain medication. Handing it to Jizzy he quickly retrieved a glass of water and held it out to her.
"I'm fine.." She whispered trying to force a smile as she took the pain meds quickly, setting the glass back onto the table. The blood frm her lips was mingled onto the water, and the lips themselfves were a deep crimson. "I'll be back on my feet in no time.." She said, unaware she was bleeding.
Rico looked around and picked up a clean napkin from the table and pressed it against Jizzy's lips once she'd lowered the glass, "you'll be back on your feet when that thing heals. Not before. I have some crutches you can borrow as well."
Jizzy flushed as he pressed a napking agained her lips. She wasn't sure why he had, but when she saw the blood, she insticively swiped at her lips again. "DO I have to use cruthces?" She said with a small sigh. She was terribly stubborn when she got sick. She had no time for crutches.
"Yes, unless you want it to get worse and then end up being off your feet for even longer. I can get you a wheel chair if you'd prefer that," Rico replied, flicking his bluegrey eyes back to meet Jizzy's.
She gave a small sigh and avoided Rico's gaze. She hated beign sick, or injured even, it made her feel so.. useless, obsolete in ways.. "Crutches wll be fine.. thanks." she siad softly..
Rico sighed, he hadn't meant to upset her, he gave her knee a small, slightly apologetic pat and slid onto the seat beside her. "I just don't want you to get any more hurt."
"It's fine, Rico.. really.." She said trying to smile. "I shouldn't have been trying to show off liek that, but I'll eb fine.. no wirries.." She leaned on him gingerly, as if a tad hesitant to.
"You looked wonderful, you should show off, it wasn't your fault the skate broke," Rico replied, leaning his head against her's gently, "just if you're hurt you need to take care of yourself."
"I'm the least of my worries. I have a new child coming, and there's Deimos and Teryl, too." She said softly. A waitress passed by them, asking if they wanted anything. "A cup of hot tea please.." She asked softly.
"Three kids huh? You're house'll be like ours soon," Rico laughed lightly, "seems kids in Gaia are always popping up..." He nodded to the waitress, "I'll have a cup of hot tea as well."
"Three kids, plus any pets that have followed me home.." She siad whispering. She nuzzled into Rico's shoulder to warm up her frosted cheeks. He was cozy.

--Talqualyn Comes -- November 17th, 2005--
Jizzy loathed having to walk in crutches. SHe hated hated hated hated hated it a thousand times over. But there was nothing to be done really. She was no healer and her ankle was rather badly twisted, so she was stuck walking with these damned things for a weeek or two.. or three, she didn't know, but she hoped it would be the least time possible.
She had to do a wierd jig to get at the key in her purse, while balancing groceries in the other hand. She grumbled something about evil crutches and murderous managers befroe she found the golden key and opened the door.
Deimos was sitting inside at the table, gazing intently at a small blanket. She opened her mouth to ask where he had gotten it, but before she could even speak, Deimos pointed at a note on the table, not even looking up from it.
Jizzy hoddled over to the table taking a seat slowly, as to avoid anything hitting her ankle and took the note into her hands.Salem's Home for Magical Creatures Dear Jizzy, We are pleased to inform you that the child that you sent in for adoption, Talqualyn, has arrived. We have enclosed a care package for him and a key to your new three room appartment at Salem's Home. We hope Tal has a good time in is new home. Signed, Salem Von Montegue. Jizzy's heart gave a leap as she finished the note, setting the care packet aside for later reading. Deimos was already turning the blanket to Jizzy and she gasped as she saw the child inside.
He was a small child, perhaps only 2 feet tall. He was a adrable, tiny, SPIDER child. Jizzy felt her heart seize up. A spider, a spider, she looked down his sleeping body and saw he was missing legs. A spider. Her breathing became irregular. A spider. She oustreched her hand slowly. This was her child now and she'd have to care for him, but her hand recoiled at record speed and she tipped off the chair. With visions of spiders in her mind, she went unconscious.
Deimos leapts to his feet and moved over to his mother. He checked her pulse, still alive and rolled his eyes. SHe was unconscious. He heaved her up without much difficulty and carried/dragged her onto the bed, laying her down. "You attract trouble.." He told her with a smirk as he tucked her in. He'd had to take care of Jizzy to often.
His attention then returned to the sleeping babe, who, wasn't sleeping to much anymore. Deimos was at the table, gazing down at him as the small child woke.
Talqualyn's bleary eyes opened slowly as he yawned and streched his tiny arms. He looked up and spotted a big thing. He paniced and began to scurry about. A giant, a giant. He didn't want to be hurt, or eaten or worse. He hunched up into a corner, shaking as he stared at the behemoth above him.
Deimos chuckled slightly at his frantic actions and smirked. "I read the letter when you got here, so.. I think you're brother now. From what I hear, it means I have to take care of you.." He said and placed a clawed hand out for Tal.
Tal gazed at the hand, still shaking. What was the giant doing? WHy was he scaring him? But the Giant's tone was soft and gentle and Tal began to take tiny clumsy steps towards Deimos hand. He tripped twice, recoiled three times and fell flat on his bum once too, but eventually he took and was heaved up, carried by Deimos.
Deimos raised him up so he could be eye to eye with the tiny baby. "As long as you don't mess with my stuff, I'll take care of you, k?" and he nose beeped the tiny child gently. He had a brother now.

--Storming the Castle-- November 19th , 2005-- Participants: Deimos, Jizzy, Malachi and Rabid.
Jizzy sat on a couch in the toy room, a book in her hand, a bandaged and sprained ankle lifted up onto it. Her crutches lay by her side, those damnable crutches.
Deimos has brought out the blocks and Zir and was now rather busy building a castle, which he'd raid as soon as it was done. He sniggered as he continued rather content with himself.
At Deimos side was the small spider child. He was just laying there, quiet, watching Deimos play. He was ina rather sleepy mood so he'd drift in and out of sleep, currentl, he was awake.
Rabid walked happily into the toy room, having heard movement. It felt like forever since Ike had been able to actually play with someone his age. Upon physically entering the room, she saw Jizzy and waved.
"Aww, Jizzy," she said sweetly, peering down at her friend's ankle, "You alright?"
Ike's ears twitched back and forth as Mummy's hair fell into them. He had his arm wrapped around her neck, and his legs around her waist. In his other arm was Skelly, his faithful companion. When he saw Dei and the spider boy, though, he happily jumped down.
"Mummy? Ike go play with Dei and boy."
"Alright, hun," Rabid smiled down to him, and then took a seat nearby Jizzy.
Ike happily bounced over, a wide grin plastered on his face.
"Hiya, big brother Captain Dei! You growed, didn't you?" he said and turned to the spider boy, "Hiya, little boy."
Jizzy smiled and set down her book nodding. "I'll be fine.. It's just sprained." SHe said, shiftign slightly to give Rabid more room to sit. "The crutches are a pain though."
"Hey, Ike!" He said, topping of one of the spires. "Yah, I grew, not to much after you did I think." He build up one of te walls. "Where have you been?"
Tal shuffled back slightly as Ike acknoledges him and kept his head down. He made a small, burbling hello sort of sound, though it was almost inaudible.
"That there's Tal, he's my little brother. He doesn't talk at all yet." Deimos explained.
"Oh, that's good. Yeah, crutches are a...well...you know," she said and smiled. When she heard Deimos say 'brother', though, her eyes returned to the small spider child.
"Congrats, but...what in all Hell, Jizzy?!" Rabid whispered, a look of profound surprise plastered on her face, "A Drider? I though you hated spiders!"
Ike's heart stopped for a moment. His ears folded all the way back, and his eyes grew wide as saucers. Little brother? The spider boy was white-ish...and had big pointy ears...and even a long tuft of fur on his head. Ike snivelled. He'd been replaced!
"Home," he murmured sadly and sat cross-legged on the ground, fiddling with Skelly's tie.
Jizzy seemed to shrink slightly. "So you know what he's called.. I didn't know what a drider was when I adopted him.." Her tone was low. "I'm not going to leave him though.. I..I'm gonna try to ger over my fear, or. something.."
"Home.. Sounds boring.." He said, starting on another spire. "Tal, pass me that block." He said, pointing to a bleu block by Tal.
The small child offered no resisteance and passed the block meekly over to Deimos, before turning back to gaze at Ike. He was an interesting bigthing, all white and pretty.
"So now I have two brothers. You're my big lil bro and Tal is my lil lil bro. That means Tal is your lil bro too." He explained, toppng of a few flags a top the spires.
"Yeah...conquer your fears," Rabid laughed, "Remember, I'm always open for babysitting...just in case it's too much some days." Conquering fears was horribly difficult, she knew. She didn't much like the idea of having to pull Ike out of a tree. Especially a tall one.
Ike snorted and cocked his head to one side. It took him a moment to undertand but, when he did, a small smile flickered onto his face. So he wasn't being replaced after all.
"S'now Ike a big brother too," he smiled down at Tal and patted the boy affectionately, "Cool."
She nodded and looked at her watch.. "Oh, Deimos, could you bring Tal over here?" She said softly.
Deimos looked up from his castle, rolled his eye, but obliged, picking up Tal and carring him to Jizzy, leaving him there and returning to Ike. "He's ok. Too quiet though." Deimos explained, handed an assortment of blocks to Ike. "The corner spire eeds to be finished."
Jizzy seemed to shrink slightly as Tal was placed in her lap, but she held strong. Her breathing raced as she dug into the bag at her side and pulled out a baby bottle apparently filled with blood. With a shaking hand she placed it in Tal's mouth, who began to drink. "I.. I.. have to be.. careful.. he.. he never asks for anything.. he's very quiet so. I have to make sure.. he.. he.. eat on time.." Jizzy voice was shaking like mad.
Rabid placed a hand on Jizzy's arm and shook her head.
"Calm down," she snerked, "He's little yet. It'll get easier." She hoped that this fear wouldn't carry on past the point when Tal would understand.
"Err...okee," Ike took the blocks and began carefully arranging them to help the corner tall-thing match the other tall-things, "Why we need spy-rees?"
In truth, he didn't even know what Dei had been building.
Jizzy was shaking fiercely, yet as an impuse, rushing he fingers through Tal's hair. There was something about hair that calmed her, no idea why. "I just.. It's hard.. I.. I.. I have my reasons for being scared and I.. I. it's been years.." She whispered.
Tal finished his bottle and exteneded a small hand to give it back to Jizzy. He felt her shaking and nuzzled softly into her lap, his remaining legs curled up around him.
"Because it's a castle, all castles have spires. They try to keep the castle safe from pirates like us." Deimos explained as he topped of another spide with a flag.
"I figured," Rabid said, looking down at the child cautiously, "but that's no average spider. He's just...an eight-legged little boy." She smiled and pet Tal's head. He was kinda cute, actually.
"Oh," Ike nodded, "Psh. Castles can't keep Ike and Reid and...and...pirates and Captain Dei out. We too big and strong." Yeah, so he didn't know the rest of the crew of if Reid was even a pirate. He swished his tail at the thought of breaking down the walls of a full-scale castle. It sounded like fun. He could only imagine the amout of red st--no. He stopped himself before he got too excited.
"That's kinda the approach I've been taking.." She whispered, her voice still trembling. "And it's been kind of hard since I twisted my ankle right before I got him."
Tal sort of shuffled as Rabid petted his hand, shrinking closer to Jizzy. He'd peek out from his arms from tiem to time at Rabid. She ahd such crazy hair, that one.
Deimos nodded. "You got it! We're strong pirates and no catsle walls are gonna keep us away from treasure, right?"
"See? It'll work eventually, I promise," Rabid half-smiled, and then leaned down to Tal's height. She'd seen him eyeing her cautiously, and could imagine only her hair being the culprit.
"Look," she whispered to the boy and stretched a curl down. It reached almost to her knee. She then let it apring back up, and smiled sweetly. Freakin' curly hair. Why'd she have to have it?
"Right!" Ike agreed and sat back, admiring the small castle. He saw little people inside its walls and battling outside, falling off like flies at the hands of Captain Dei and his mighty pirate army. The image faded, though, as he looked up to Dei.
"Why we storm castles in the first place, Dei?"
Tal giggled. Crazy hair was fun. He raised up his arms feebly, retracted them shyly, then raised them up again. He wanted to play with the pretty hair.
Jizzy smiled faintly and continued to pet Tal's hair. "He's a dear though.."
"Because we're pirates, and pirates look for treasure. Castles have lots of treasure, though I'm not sure if this one does. This one is just practice for a real castle. Real castles are HUGE!" He extended his arms out to show thr sheer size of it.
"Awwww," Rabid cooed, "Sure is." Little ones were so cute...
She reached up and pulled down a handful of her curls, offering them to Tal. He didn't seem the type to remove hair by the root, although she probably wouldn't mind if he was.
"Oooooo," Ike's eyes grew wide. He then thought for a moment, his brow furrowing in concentration. He removed a couple of blood candies from his pocket and placed them carefully into the centre of the castle.
"There. Now it does."
Tal reached up and gripped some of the curls, a soft smile on hsi face. He tugged them down, not the whole way down, then let the go. He giggled as they sprung up. He reached up and did i again and again. This was fun.
Jizzy was smiling much more broadly now. "He seems to like playing with hair. It's no good with me since mine's kinda short."
Deimos smiled. "Excellent." He said and finsihed by placing little green soldiers all around the castle. "Mother!" He cried out and Jizzy gave a small sigh and sent a flicker of magic over to the castle. The figures sprnag to life and began to pelt Dei and Ike with small tiny, and rather harmless, plastic pellets. "We charge!!"
"I can see that," Rabid giggled, and then turned her head toward her son, not moving her head enough so as to allow Tal to continue his...hair-tugging. Once she was sure that Ike and Dei were quite alright, she turned back to the Drider.
Ike got down on all fours, in kind of a doggy 'play' position, and was promptly shot in the nostril by a little green man. Everything went sharp as he laughed and lunghed forward, smashing the toy under his palm and growling slightly.
Jizzy smiled and rushed fingers through her hair. 'I could never stand to have it long though.."
Tal was full out laughing as hee tugged and tugged, but once he tugged especially hard, ready to rip the heair right out. Not that he knew he was hurting anyone.
Deimos smirked and swiped at the soldier. Ten of them flew all over, the rest still pelting Deimos and Ike with pellets. He growls as he charged for the wall, the men grabbing at his feet to stop him.
"I don't really like having it long either, but...ouch," she cringed when Tal removed a bit of her hair, "but I can't quite help it." She watched as the tiny bald spot was fairly quickly filled in with more strands of obscenely curly dark brown hair.
"Now, be careful," Rabid half-smiled down at Tal, "We don't want to hurt anyone, now, do we?"
Ike looked over toward Dei and began loping at the castle on all fours, his ears folded back. He ignored the toys' protests. Once he reached the outer wall, he kneeled and whipped it with his wildly swishing tail.
Tal gave a small squee of delight and began to play with the strands of hair he had. He's strech them out and in then out and in, but being a babe led to have a rather short attention span, so he soon reached up a small hand at Rabid, giving the hair back.
"Oh. It's from being part vampire, yes? I think your curls are amzing though. If I grow my hair out, it sort of curls, but not nicely at all." Jizzy said.
Deimos smirked wider. 'Good move!' He siad and followed Ike's lead, crumbling a wall with a large swipe of his rather pointed tail.
"Thank you," Rabid smiled and took her hair back before turning to Jizzy and blushing, "Mmhm, and thanks. It wasn't always all...freakin'...ringlet-y. The night I stopped growing, it went crazy. Same with the eyes. They used to be hazel."
She shuddered at the thought. It had hurt...quite a bit. But, of course, it had to happen when she was 18...dooming her to be forever carded where ever she went.
Ike then elected to swipe at the castle, his long fingers taking down quite a few blocks. He giggled, eyeing the rubble-covered 'treasure' he'd put in there earlier.
Tal gave a small smiled and curled up on Jizzy again, yawning and drifting off on another of his many naps.
"The only difference between me and me at 15 was my hair was longer then, so.. I couldn't really relate." SHe siad witha small shurgg and a pat on her friend's shoulder.
Deimos made a wild charge at the castle, ignoring the pellets and snattched the cnadies into his hand. As ssonas he did the soldiers died down and Deimos raised his hand in triumph.
Rabid smiled down at the tired arachnid and turned to Jizzy.
"I still don't quite understand why it happened, I mean...I still breathe. I still have a pulse." She then raised 2 fingers to her neck, just in case...
Ike peered around and looked up toward the victorious captain. He clapped and cheered, making loud whistling noises from between his oddly-spaced teeth.
"I don't undersatdn why lots of things happen, but half the time you'll only hurt yourself trying to figure it out." She said with a small shrug.
Deimos made a sweeping bow and tossed one of the candies to Ike. "Another succesful raid for Catain Dei and his crew!" He said, plopping a candy into his own mouth.
"Exactly," Rabid said, relieved by her faint heartbeat, "I don't think about it a whole lot." She never did. In fact, she never even had until the whole hair conversation started.
Ike attempted to catch the candy with his left hand, but it went through his fingers, and he instead grasped it in his right. He then pulled on each side of the wrapper and placed the candy in his mouth. That was quite a bit easier than using his teeth to open them...
Jizzy smiled faintly and looked at the clock. 'Oh dear.. Sorry Rabid, but I have to go.. I'm expecting a call from my managers about my ankle." SHe said moving and making a reach for her crutches. "Deimos, come get your brother please." SHe said.
Deimos looked over and gave a small sigh. "Well Ike's. I got to go. Don't be a stranger, k." SHe said ruffled up Ike's hair and took his brother into his arms, leading the crippled Jizzy out of the room.

--The Flaming Domino Effect (Part 1) -- November 21st, 2005--
Deimos had long since concluded that his mother was insane. He could hear her through the door that connected to her new room, talking and rambling at Kalina, and he knew, don't ask how, but he KNEW she was in the bathroom doing it. She always called people from the bathroom. He never truly knew why, he could hear her anyways.
By the end of that call she was shouting, which made him smile slightly. He liked to hear her shout at other people, anyone but him. She burst into the room, fuming, yet on crutches, as she ruffled through the cabinet they had yet to move into the new apartment.
"Have you seen my Gambino uniform?" She asked as she hobbled to the bookcase and pulled out one of the books that happened to be in Latin. This annoyed Deimos a lot, seeing as he couldn't understand a damned word of it.
"It's on the table." Deimos replied, bobbing his head to the guitars playing through his head. She hobbled over to the table like an old woman, sitting down and opening the spell book.
Deimos felt a spur of jealousy, as she became to chant over her broken ankle, a small bubble-like film appearing over it. He couldn't cast at all thanks to Erebus, and every time he tried, he got a killer headache. He sent a few mental curses, which he certainly shouldn't have known at his demonic counterpart, only to receive a snigger in return.
His mother ducked into his bathroom, apparently in a rather large hurry. She was walking without the crutches now, the bubble cushioning her foot. When she emerged she was in uniform. Deimos sneered. He rather disliked the short black shirt and red vest she was forced to wear.
She strode to him, incredibly angry. The bookstore had fired her! They said she'd been on sick leave much to long, so she was 'let go'. She was fuming. She couldn't afford to lose the job at Gambino's now. She gave him a small pat, ruffling up her son's hair. "I have to go work tonight, take good care of Tal dear, though he should stay asleep the whole time.' She said and kissed him on the forehead. She was doing this for him, for Tal. That made her smile and she departed, in a rush to catch her bus.
Deimos waited a few minutes after she'd left and leapt to his feet. He wanted to see where the hell it was that dragged his mother away from them almost every night. He went into the other room, glancing at the bus schedule she had on the fridge. There was another bus in 10 minutes. He smirked. After peeking into Tal's room to check if his younger brother was asleep and well, he dashed off, ready to follow Jizzy.

 -- The Flaming Domino Effect (Part 2) -- November 21st, 2005 --
Deimos had gotten of at two wrong stops before he finally arrived in front of the bright lights and putrid cigarette smoke of Gambino's casino. People shoved him off the bus, giving his cloak and wings odd and sometimes nasty looks as they left. He looked up at the building and wrinkled his nose. He didn't like the place already.
---
Deimos has never truly appreciated his normal stature until now. The 7 foot + guard didn't even spot him as he crouched down, slinking between the legs of the many gamblers sliding inside. He coughed as he entered, cigar smoke heavy in the air. How could his mother stand this place! It was disgusting. He weaved in and out of the people, the sounds of slot machines resounding in his eyes. Gods he loathed this place already, but he'd come for mother and he'd find her.
First thing he found though, was someone passed out on the floor. He smelled terrible, an acrid smell that made his nose want to run away in horror. He stepped over the drunken man, just as people began to notice and crowd around him. Some laughed, some panicked and finally he was picked up and wheeled out on a table. Some way to treat someone, by putting them on a rolling table. He didn't approve of this place, not at all.
---
It took Deimos about 20 more minutes to weave through the drunken crowds before he found Jizzy. She was already limping slightly, the bubble around her foot, shimmering and flickering. She was carrying a tray laden with drinks to a poker table. The men sitting there were rather dirty, and didn't look all to well of at all. Well, Mother wasn't all too well of either, but she managed to still look presentable, couldn't these men manage too?
She dropped of their drinks and starting making her way away when one of the men gripped her wrist. Deimos' eyes became slits. The man began to talk in a sort of drunken slur as Jizzy made and attempt to pull herself away. Deimos rolled up his nonexistent sleeves and made a beeline towards this man. He was going to let go of his mother, whether he liked it or not.
Jizzy continued to pull, but the man stood, towering slightly over her despite his slouching posture. She said something to him, which caused him to bristle in anger and backhand Jizzy with such force that Deimos, swore he saw one of her earrings fly of. Jizzy fell limp onto the man and he began to rip at her shirt.
All hell broke loose.
The man didn't know what hit him as he felt like a truck hit him in the side of his face. The truck happened to be Deimos' fist, which had made a point blank collision with the man's face. Several teeth flew from his mouth. He let go of Jizzy and she slumped onto the floor. "How dare you treat Mother that way.." Deimos hissed as he picked the man up by his collar, his demonic strength aiding him in lifting up the man who happened to be almost twice his size.
"What kind of thing did she hump to get to be your mother?" The man said snidely, noting Deimos odd features.
Bad move. Deimos felt rage well up so fiercely inside him that it consumed him like a flame. He'd burn this man. He'd hurt him and watch him writhe in pain. He heard the beginning of a taunt by Erebus but his anger quashed it and the door, which held back his fire, flung open in wrath.
It was like Deimos had been lit entirely on fire. Red flames crept up like vines all around him, yet none charred him. The ones that crept up the man, however, charred his clothes, sending him into a panicked frenzy. He was shouting screaming now, but Deimos simply smirked. He felt the power coursing inside him, around him, and he liked it. Oh he relished the feeling. He sent more tendrils up towards the man, his shirt lighting on fire as the man's screams began to rise into the air and Deimos laughed. He laughed as the man ripped his shirt from Deimos' grasp and began to shriek and scream like some sort of tortured comet, streaking though the room.
It wasn't until a fellow waitress shrieked at the sight of two figures on fire that Deimos was snapped back to reality, back to the matter at hand. He had to get mother out of here.
His fire faded, sealing itself behind the door in his mind once more, as he hitched the unconscious Jizzy up onto his back and began to carry her from the casino, before the crowds became to come, trying frantically to put the man out.
And as he left the casino, Deimos smirked slightly in satisfaction.

Deimos grumbled in anger as he had to hitch up hsi unconscious mother up onto his back once more. No matter his stength, this was tiring. He grounded under her weight and sorely wished the bus ahd not leftt right before he made it to the exit. He was already across the port of gambino when he looked to the side and a familiar rolling hill caught his eye. He changed course heading for the house when he dearly hoped her could get a bit of rest, and maybe some advil for his soon to be aching back.
The house was quiet, only a few lights were on as the excitement from the past few days had managed to drain nearly the entire household of energy and most of the members were currently asleep.
Aido yawned slightly, slumped at the kitched table with head forehead resting on the smooth surface, her bad arm cradled in its sling against her chest.
Chao placed down a steaming mug of tea down beside her and gave her daughter's shoulder a pat. "You should just go back to bed, hun."
"Mmm..." Aido murmured but didn't move.
Deimos hufffed as he finnaly made it up the hill. He swore that hill hadn't been that large before. He raised a fist and pounded on the door extra loudly. He was in no mood to be discreet. He wanted to get her of his back, now!!!
Aido blinked her eyes open at the pounding and released the steaming mug.
"Ai! Would you mind getting that?" came the call from the bathroom.
"Sure 'Mu," Aido called and stood up slowly, heading for the front door and turning the knob, "hello..." she called and blinked at the duo, "Dei? Miss Jizzy?"
Deimos would have been glad to see Aido, if he couldn't swear he felt his spine cracking. " 'lo Ai." He said with a grunt and continued forward her needed to let Mother down somewhere before his back broke.
Aido gave her head a shake and kicked the door fully open, ushering Deimos inside and into the nearest door off the hallway which led into the living room. Giving her sling bound arm a glare, as it rendered her helping Deimos annoyingly hard, she gestured for Deimos to lay Jizzy down and hopped back into the hall, "Aemu!" she called.
A toilet flush and moment later Chao's head poked out. "What is it? Who's here?"
"Dei and Jizzy, Jizzy's unconscious."
Chao hurried down the hall and into the living room, "what happened?"
Deimos let her down and gave a cheerful sigh. He bent backwards, his back cracking several times. "Thanks Ai. I wouldn't have made it back to HQ." He muttered, doing a few strenches before looking up at Chao. "Oh. right, what happened? The guy backhanded Mother, so I beat him up.."
"Oh...well," how do you react to that? Chao sighed, "I support the retailiation but, ugh, please just tell me you didn't maim him or something Dei."
Aido nodded and sat on one of the chair's armrests heavily, yawning as the adreniline dissapeared once again. Oh this day was starting to feel like a never ending rollar coaster....
Deimos gave a rather malevolent smirk as he recaled what he'd doen to the man. 'I set him on fire." He said, an edge of pride in his voice. He'd finally cast the fire.
"Oh hell," Chao groaned and sat down heavily, shaking her head. This could mean serious reprocusions for Jizzy in the future.... "Oh Deimos...."
"It was pretty cool too. See, I'll show you." He began to glance around the living room. "Anything you don't mind being burnt here?' He asked, moving to a table and picking up a notepad.
"Honestly? Everything. No fire here," Chao stated firmly and glanced at Aido, who had a look of mildly dazed shock on her face at the idea of Deimos frying someone, her currently sharp sense of mortality catching up with her.
Chao couldn't help but shoot a glare at Deimos. The teen stood and nudged Aido towards the door, "Aido, go upstairs, wake up Rico and go to bed, okay?"
The Tale came to her senses, "I'll get Uncle Rico," it was by no means an agreement to the other terms and Chao sighed, rubbing at her temples and turned back to Deimos and Jizzy.
"Shame. It looked great." He said putting down the notepad and cracking his back once more for good measure before ploping down on the floor. "He hurt Mother though.. See.. I wasn't even able to find the other earing.." He said, pointing to his mother's ear, which was bleeding, the earing having been ripped out. Her cheek and forehead were slightly purpled as well.
"I understand Deimos, honestly, I do. But you might've gotten Jizzy into a lot of trouble by doing this, people rarely take warmly to being flayed," Chao sighed deeply, "people sue, they fight in ways you can't just solve with violence. Buuuuutttt, we'll have to deal with that later. For now let's get some bandages and some ice and try to get Jizzy comfortable."
"Sue?" Deimos asked questioningly. "I can take on Pauls, Marks, Marys AND Sues if they mess with us." He said, standing to help her get the bandages and giving the air a one two punch.
". . ." Chao stared, "erm, court sue, with lawyers and such, not fanfiction sue Deimos." She shook her head and glanced up as Rico padded downstairs, Aido following close behind with Reid clinging to her good arm.
"And now everyone's up...."
"'Lo Reid, Lo' agaian Ai." He said, flashing a small smile at the pair, while entirely ignoring Rico. "But I can take on the lawyer's too. Lawyer's aren't fireproof, are they?"
"No, but they multiply and might try to take away all your Mum's money and you away from her, or just... this is something you can't fight with violence Deimos, it just makes it worse," Chao stated with a sad shake of her head.
Reid nodded to the older Mishap, waving one hand in greeting.
Rico, armed with a first aid kit, headed for the living room.
Deimos wrinkled his nose. "These lawyer's sound nasty.." He said. They sounds like some sorrt of virus that multiplied and made other people's lives miserable.
Back in the living room, Jizzy stirred slightly. "owww.." she said softly, her hand going to her bloody ear. It stung..
"They are, mostly. Now, all three of you, go into the kitchen for a bit or upstairs and sleep, while Rico and I talk to Jizzy, alright?"
Rico frowned and sat down by Jizzy, "hey hun..." he murmured worriedly, pulling out some bandages and a wet towet and moved her hand away from the cut.
Deimos gave a short sigh, but a possibility popped into is head and he went over to Reid and Ai. 'Come on, I'l show you something cool." He said, working his way up the stairs.
Jizzy arched an eyebrow questioningly. Hun? Why would anyone at work call her hun? She felt her hand being moved away and she became even more confused. She opened her eyes slowly, though one only wenthalfway thanks to a lovely shiner sweeling up there. "Rico? Wha.. why are you at the casino?"
Aido gave the Mishap a worried look and Reid blinked, curious. The duo followed him back up the stairs.
"Is that where you've been?" Rico frowned, "we've been trying to call you all day. You aren't at the casino, you're at mine and Ae's house right now."
Deimos made it up and entered the first familiar room, Reids. "Ok, now promise you won't tell Aunt Chao I did this, k?" He said, smirking as he began to think how he could.. contain the fire to show them.
"Yah.. I..I got fired from the bookstore.. I..I can't afford to lose my other job." SHe said softly, she'd ask how the hell she got here later, after he face stopped throbbing.
Reid tilted his head, "ki..." he replied, not knowing what Deimos was talking about.
Aido stiffened, paling, alarmed. The shadows at her feet perked and stiffened as well, "Deimos, no. No fire."
"What'd they fire you for?" Rico asked, alarmed as he gently began to ripe away the blood from Jizzy's ear.
Chao handed Jizzy a small, cloth wrapped icepack.
"I've got it totally under control." Deimos reassuered them, and focused as Mother had taught him. He imagined the enrgy forming as a ball in his falm and a spark flickered in his hand, growing to a rather large fireball. "See? No toruble!"
"Too many days missed. They said they'd alreadyy found a "more reliable employee.."" SHe sighed. "Thanks.." SHe said, taking the icepack gratefully and pressing it against her sore face.
Aido grimaced and took a step back, hand nestled firmly in the shadows. Dispite Deimos' reassurances she was far from relaxed.
Reid 'ooo'd lightly, tilting his head and taking in the ball of flame which had just suddenly appeared out of nowhere curiously.
"Aren't they not allowed to do that if it's for sickness?" Rico wondered aloud, it didn't sound right....
"No problem," Chao replied and leant back in another chair, "what happened at the casino?"
Deimos closed his fist and the fire sputtered out of existance. 'See, no troubles." He said witha triumphant smirk.
"No idea if they're allowed to or not.." She said, wincing of her face throbbed with the cold. "and in the casino.. I.. There were these drunk guys on one the tables I have, and he got me. I was about to jinx him when he backhanded me and I just kinda.. no idea what happened after.." She said softly.
Aido sighed in relief and released the shadows, which immediately melded back into their normal places. She leant heavily against the wall.
Reid nodded and clapped two hands in approval of the trick.
Rico growled in surpressed rage at the thought of anyone 'getting' Jizzy.
"From what Deimos told me all hell broke loose afterwards. He said he burned the guy..." Chao replied quietly.
Deimos smirked and bowed at the applause. "Cool, isn't it? Just imagien all the great stuff I can do now. I might even get to learn magic, and Jabir said he'd teach em to fly."
"He what? He couldn't have. He hasn't been able to cast at all so far." She said incredilously, one hand pressing tighter with the icepack and the other adjusting her slightly torn vesy back onto her shoulder. SHe did notice Rico's low growl and she felt a bit better, just cause.
Rael's head poked out of Aido's shadow and something seemed to pass between them. Placing Reid on her Companion's back she left the room.
Reid watched his siter leave then turned back to Deimos and nodded lightly, "mhm."
"Well, he said he did and seemed quite interested in giving us a demonstration," Chao replied and flopped fully into one of the chairs.
Deimos leaned in closer to Reid, flopping down on the floor. 'You should have seen it. I was awesome. Like one ofthe superheroes on Tv."
Jizzy gave a small groan, half due to the pain and half due to the fact Dei would now be trying to light every other thing on fire. "Urgh.. Thanks for telling me.." SHe said, sitting up, ignoring her ankle entirely. "I should get going soon though.. call my manager.. beg for forgiveness. all that fun stuff."
Reid smiled slightly and nodded, the trick was cool, but, well, if it had put his sister on edge so easily he couldn't help but be slightly wary.
"Be careful," Chao cautioned and looked around, seeing no crutches she dissapeared to go find a pair.
"Speaking of jobs, Jizzy, I put in a word to my superior, that was part of the reason we were trying to call. She'd like to meet you sometime and maybe get you started working as soon as next week if we can arrange for the meeting to be soon. Supposedly another one of the workers got lost in a swamp," Rico smiled slightly.
Deimos was so thrilled he finally could cast, just almsot euphoric. "Though AUnt Chao said someone might Sue, whatever that means." He said with a shrug.
Jizzy's eyes lit up so brightly, it was probably Deimos fire had sprung up behind them. "She does. Oh.. tell her as sson as possible. I.. I.. Thank you Rico!" She said, flinging her arms around him and kissing him on the cheek from sheer exitement.
Reid frowned in confusion, "sue?" he repeated, it sounded like a name.
Rico laughed and hugged her back, flushing slightly at the kiss, "I'll tell her, I promise. She sounded really eager to have you on board, well, as eager as she ever is," he reasoned.
Deimos shrugged. "I dunno who Sue is either, but Aunt Chao said it was a really bad thing."
Jizzy felt so happy, she wanted to do a jig. "I just.. this is wonderful.. A job, I get to go to other worlds." She got a few flashes of soem happy moments and she beamed, doing a tiny arm jig. "I can revisit the people I left behind."
"Hm... maybe it'sa really bad person?" Reid suggested with a shrug.
Rico smiled, glad he could have made Jizzy so happy.
"Maybe Sue's a lawyer. Aunt Chao talked about those too. She said they'd come after Mother." Deimos said, an edge to his voice. He'd torch any lawyer or Sue that got near her.
She was just, so exited she was rambling. "And you could visit some of my old homes. Oh Earth, you'd love Earth. It's so big and diverse. Most of it is just wonderful!"
"Lawyer?" Reid asked, he'd never heard that word before either. It seemed whatever Deimos and his Mu had gotten into was quite complicated and foreign.
Rico laughed, "I think I heard of Earth once or twice in passing."
"I've been there," Chao chimed in, finally returning with a pair of crutches, "Jizzy's right, for the most part it's quite nice. Though I got my first taste of 'cows' there."
"Yah, I think they're like monster leeches, that cling to you and suck you dry. Nasty, aint it?" He said, wrinkling his nose in disgust. " I don't want anything like that anywhere near us."
Jizzy smiled. 'Yes, beef, steak, hamburger, It's all good. I lived of the stuff for a while. I resided with vampires for some years and they enjoy raw steak from time to time." She said beaming at the though of going back to the castle.
Reid made a face, the image that conjured in his mind's eye wasn't very appealing. "Ver' nasty."
Chao laughed, "I thought it was an acronym for a government operation," she shook her head at the memory.
Diemos nodded in agreement. "But I'll keep them away. I ahve fire now. Nothing is gonna hurt us anymore." He said.
Jizzy laughed, but she stopepd, as her cheeks fell numb with the ice, making it ratehr difficult to laugh. "That's.. thats just. I dunno Chao.. I mean, I had about the same reaction to some things in other worlds too."
Reid smiled slightly and noded, deciding not to voice that he'd seen his mother put out a fire once before with water, for some reason he had a feeling it would get only a passing shrug or Deimos would claim something about being able to defeat it.
"Hehe, I was also in a state of panic at the time but yeah, it's always interesting to go to a new world, albeit a bit freightening as well."
Deimos sighed and lay down. "Mother just attracts to much trouble Reid.." He said, gazing at the ceiling. 'Don't you think?"
Jizzy nodded in agreement. "Just be glad you've never been to Dalibor. I suggest you steer clear of the place." She said, her tone was joking, but her eyes held something darker.
Reid tilted he head and nestled into Rael's backside, "Dei's Mu does?" he asked, this was the first her knew about Deimos' mother's troubles after all.
"We'll try, though I seem to have a bad tendancy to end where I'm trying not to go," Chao replied with a shake of her head and a tug at a stand of her hair.
"Yah. She's always hurt, or sick, or something. Its kinda annoying sometimes." He said, with another heaving sigh.
Jizzy smiled softly. "Though I'm pretty sure if you end up somewhere nasty you could hold you own. Us girls have to be tough right Chao?"
Reid frowned, not liking the logic of that, "bu' s'not like Dei's Mu wants troub'e, righ?" he replied.
Chao laughed quietly and flopped into one of the arm chairs, "mhm, yeah."
"No. Trouble just seems to find her. Mother doesn't like trouble too much." He said and rolled over to his side, tugging his cloak over him. He was itching to cast, but knew better for now.
Jizzy leaned back, she. could stay a while now, if she could. She didn't have to beg forgvivness anymore or anything. "What about Rico?" She turend to him. "Are you tough like us?" She siad, mock flexing her rather scrawny arm,
"Mm," Reid murmured, that made more sense.
Rico laughed and shrugged, "I'd like to think I am."
"You're Mother doesn't attract trouble does she?" Deimos asked, perhaps it wa sa normal Morther type thing.
Jizzy smiled and gave him a small mocking punch. "I could take you." SHe said jokingly, trying to lighten her injuries by forgetting about them through jokes.
Reid frowned and mused over the question, "somet'mes," he replied after a moment. She seemed to crash into things quite often at least.
Rico laughed at the spot, "normally I would say yes, but with you on crutches I think I have the advantage.
"She could just beat you with those," Chao chimed in happily and Rico's face fell and he nodded, "you have a point."
"Then maybe its a Mother soon. I hope I never became a mother." He said, much to tired to analyze his words.
"But I wouldn't. I like you too much to beat you up." She said smiling, widely at him and Chao. "especially beat you with crutches.
Reid laughed and snuggled deeper into Rael's 'fur', "if Dei tire' Dei can use Reid's bed," and it really was a bed now as the crib had been abolished once he'd grown.
"See! Someone likes me," Rico said with a grin.
Chao rolled her eyes, "I like you two but that doesn't mean you don't need a good twap everyonce in a while with crutches or other assorted blunt objects."
"I'm not gonna take your bed. I'm fine here." He said using his cloak as a blanket around him.
"She's got a point, dear. No matter how much I like you, I'll say you occasionally need to be thwapped, some goes for me. Hell I need plenty of thwaps." She said chuckling.
"Ki," Reid replied and snugged into Rael's fur with a yawn, not feeling like going over to his own unkept bed either though Deimos' tiredness seemed to be spreading.
"Oh Jizzy, for a moment I saw a future without thwappings! A Bright, beautiful future! And now you've wrenched it away. Woe."
Deimos gave another loud yawn. "I think we're gnna sleep here. Do you mind Reid?"
"I'm sorry, love, but I just couldn't resist." She said with a faint smile.
"S'oki with Reid," Reid replied, yawning as well.
"It's alright, I should know that no such future exsists anyway," Rico said with a dramatic florish.
"night Reid." Deimos said witha yawn, curling up into a small ball of demonic fluff.
'I'm sure one day.." She stopped, yawning loudly and just instictively leanign on Rico's shoulder as a pillow. "oh.. sorry. I just.. how late is it?"
Rico glanced around, sighting the clock at the corner of the room and relayed the time.
"By gods!" She said, glancing at the clock and shuffling off of Rico, ignoring her aching ankle as she made an attempt to stand. 'Thanks again for letting us stay, but Dei and I should be heading home." She said, tossing the icepack back to Chao, despite its still purple bruise.
"Be careful!" the twins chorused, Rico rushing up to help steady Jizzy while Chao quickly grabbed the crutches she'd grabbed earlier and offered them.
"Yee gods hun, at the very least either let us drive you or...better yet escort you through Reid's closet as that pretty much leads straight to the HQ."
Jizzy took the crutches grumpily and she was about to retaliate about she could do it herself, but she stopped. "Through the closet??" She asked.
"Yep," Chao replied, "portal and suchwhat, had to figure out a better way to get to Reid's second room and the HQ and all."
"A closet.. wow." SHe said, balancing herself on the crutches. "Well, that would be useful, seeing as HQ is kind of.. far and I'd hae to walk normally."
"If we didn't have it we'd drive you you know," Chao grumbled and led the way to the stairs.
Rico gave the stairs a breif look and abruptly picked Jizzy up, Chao, catching the hint, snagged her crutches and the trio made their way up the stairs.
"Oh! Jizzy, we're going to have to have that celebratory dinner we talked about, what, a month ago?" Chao said suddenly, about half way up the stairs.
Jizzy yelped slightly as Rico picked her up, and she flung her arms around his neck as instict. "Gods, Rico, I can make it up the stairs." She said, but she still clung, for fear of falling. "Oh, when Chao? I'll make something for it.."
"He's having a gentlemanly moment," Chao quipped, "let him enjoy it. And I don't know, soon? We seem to have a but to celebrate, maybe after you get in touch with Rico's boss? I'd say, like, tommarow, but Ai got home just this morning and all of us are running on very little sleep."
Jizzy's face shone again at the mention of the meeting and she nodded. "Right, well, I'm up to it whenever you guys say. Both the party and the meeting. I'd have to actually use makeup to cover up this shiner though." She said, chuckling slightly and cuddling close to Rico, allowing him his gentlemanly moment.
"Leave the shiner, my boss'll probably think of it as a good thing that you can take the occassional thwack," Rico mused aloud.
Jizzy chuckled. "You're boss is a bit odd, isn't she?' She asked. She could take a bit more than a thwak. Actually, it was damn near impossible to get rid of her.
"A bit, yes, but we all love her all the same, besides this kind of job isn't always a walk in the park," Rico replied, gently setting Jizzy back on her feet now that they'd hit the top of the stairs.
Jizzy took the crutches as to keep her ankle safe for now and continued to toddle forth. "I'd assume. You never did tell me how you got to other worlds, by the way.." She mentioned.
Rico blinked, "erm, self made portals mostly," he shrugged.
JIzzy's eyes widedned slightly. "s**t. well. I'll have to brushup on that then.. haven't made a portal in ages.." She knocked tentatively on the door, before opening it. Deimos stirred inside, but didn't wake. "Dei, time to go." Jizzy said and Deimos grumbled. "I dun wanna wake up."
"Don't worry, most of the others are fairly skilled in doing them so one of us could always do it , and would probably do it, as you'd probably want to save your energy for the search."
yawned at the light and beneath him Rael stirred, golden and emerald eyes blinking up at the adults as if asking them why they'd woken them up.
Jizzy nodded. "That's wise." She said and looked around. "So we just go through the closet, right?" She asked, gazing at it.
Diemos grumbled as he stood slowly. "I'm up.. I'm up. Can we have bacon?" He asked blearily.
"Mhm," Chao walked forward, scooping up Reid and waving Rael on his way, taking a key from her pocket she fit it into the lock and turned. Several clicks sounded before she removed it, "alright, just head through and you'll end up in Reid's room in the HQ."
"Thanks, Chao. Thanks loads." Jizzy said and hobbled over to Rico. "See you at the dinner." And, after a bit of mental fighting, pecked him on the lips before taking Deimos hand and hobbling through the closet.
Rico smiled, a slight flush adorning his cheeks.
Chao rolled her eyes, waved to Jizzy and cradled Reid against her chest. Once the duo was through she shut the door and turned to her twin, "c'mon Romeo, I'm tired and I want to make sure Dei didn't do any more damage."
