Ssala tilts hir head at Ghlyssa. "I am gifted at seeing what may be, yes... but possibilities only. There may be many futures for you, and I will see glimpses of them all. Which one will be true? That, I cannot say." The spirit-snake curls in the air, rising above Ghlyssa's head a bit. "I will use my Sight for you as my lord wishes, but I cannot grant you a perfect telling of what wil be, only possibilities..."

Ssala nods. "If I may?" Shi coils gently down onto Ghlyssa's head, like some odd halo or wreath. Hir eyes slowly lose focus.

Riven finds Ghlyssa's hand and squeezes it gently. "It's okay," he mouths.

Ssala begins to speak in a quiet monotone; the seer's Voice. "Another dream of the dream - you are no nightmare, no... although a darkness hungers for all such dreams, it is held away..." Hir head sways once from side to side. "Green, a journey, a deep deep journey, so many choices. Never before have there been so many choices. With wisdom the right path will appear; with folly, the abyss will open... follow the green, deep within, it knows the way..."

Ssala blinks, hir eyes slowly focusing again.

Ssala slowly drifts back into the air. "I wish I could help you understand," shi says, regretfully, "but part of the Oracle gift is that I never remember what I said. Do not try to explain it to me, I guarantee that it will make no sense. It is how the gift works. I hope it will be of some use to you, my lady."

"Thank you, Ssala," Riven says, holding out the unclaimed hand to the Oracle.

Ssala drifts over immediately and curls around it, making a contented sound. "Will you come to the Barrier, my lord? A few cracks need healing, and your lady would be most welcome."

Riven looks at Ghlyssa. "I can go and do this work with you here, or take you back first... it's up to you. It won't take long, either way."

"Alright. We're coming, Ssala." Riven turns towards the Barrier, and as they get closer he can feel the dissonance of the cracks like itches along his own skin. "Nothing serious?"

"No," Ssala confirms, floating beside him. "These are the first breaks in a while that have been something we couldn't easily patch without you, my lord, and fixing them should be the work of a moment for you."

They draw up alongside the Barrier. The cracks are barely visible, a hairline crackle in what seems like a wall of mist. Riven puts one hand on it, feeling the reassuring firmness of it. "You can touch it too, go on..." he encourages Ghlyssa. "It's strong."

Riven nods, solemnly. "It's very important. Behind this wall is..." His eyes darken. "Chaos." He spits the word out, as if it tastes foul. "He would eat the world whole if he had a chance, for no other reason than the joy he finds in destruction. So he is sealed here, and in my first life it was my duty to keep the seal strong... as it is again, now."

He rests one hand on the Barrier and calls for Aeintor with the other, the spear materializing in his grasp. Quietly, he puts the crystal blade to the cracks, and closes his eyes to concentrate. The cracks glow, strange runic markings flicker across the crazed surface - and then the glow fades, and the Barrier here is a pure pearly-gray once more.
