Azreal drew in a breath as if to speak, but paused- how much did this man know? Would it have much an effect on him? Would his purposes change?
It didn't matter at this point. The man had shared his plan.... if anything, Azreal had enough honor to reciprocate.
"I seek the Key, created by the Golden Septim. It is the only way back to our home. Even if we cannot repair out planet upon arrival, we must try." explained Azreal. In essence, he was the hope of the Lonarians.... carrying an entire race's burden must not have been easy.

Though you could not see it, his face was probably turning white right about...now.
"The Septim...by God, what do you know of the Seven!?
This Key you speak of...I still have never heard of it. Most interesting. Please, if it is of no trouble to you, explain the Key to me..."

Azreal continued, undaunted by the man's surprise. "I know enough about the Septim. I know that they came to Lonar seeking the truth... ignorant fools. They found far more than they bargained for." he let his speech diverge for a moment, letting his rage seep through before continuing.
"And the key..... formed by the willpower and magical energies of the Septim, it opened the first gateway to Lonar beyond death. A great and powerful artifact, it was.... too great. To ensure that the key did not fall into the wrong hands, the seventh member of the party stayed back and broke the key into seven pieces. These pieces of the key, scattered across the world, is what I now search for."

He was shocked by this lost bit of information.
"I...I see. That is why you must go to the Arctic...one of the pieces, I assume."
With a long, painful breath, the man turned to the board, not before adding,
"I was the Eighth. Heh...if only."
Snapping back into the matter at hand, Nicholas explained the skill chart for the Dark Hunter Class.
"Alright. Now, as you may or may not know, most classes are simply GIVEN to you, and a small bit of Espercite is implanted into your body, after being sanctioned by the Lord Rozen, to let all changes develop of their own accord.
However, groups that lie in secret have their own methods...
Being a Magicitic myself, I know a thing or two about articifial growth. Before I broke out of captivity, I was able to swipe a few small samples of this key ingredient...
Granted, they're all gone, but it does not matter...
We've learned the secret to their creation.
It took a while, but long-living Magicitic Bob Smalls, who specialized in analysis, was able to realize how the stuff is created. Though he won't explain it to any of us refugees, he makes it and distributes it out of a dingy motel room in Amandilla.
...yes. The place we're going to attack. Don't worry, he has our protection.
Now, we use this material to create a BUBBLE of growth...a chunk of potential, see? It's up to your mind to realize that potential...
Now, how is it done?
Well. To become a true Dark Hunter, you have to think and feel like one. This can only come with numerous killings, trappings, and ambushes. Blood will pay for your growth.
I take it you've already killed a few things in the past? What, if I dare, is the number and type of your killings?"

"Yes. That is the reason for my journey." finished Azreal. With that, he sat back and allowed the man to explain the basics of the class and the plan of assault.
When questioned about his killings, he paused. It was apparent that he was thinking hard.
"Number.... 17, I believe. Not counting simple creatures of course.... I have killed 17 intelligent lifeforms.... no, wait. Your man last night made 18. Oh, and two bunnies! Magic is my preferred medium, though as I demonstrated clearly, I am not above common murder tactics when I see an opportunity." he finally decided, filling the old man in on every last bit of information involving his killings.

Nicholas smiled.
"Not bad...you're on your way!
Now, the way this usually works is simple. After you're implanted with the base Espercite that declares your job inside your mind and body, you will notice how many "Blood Points" you gain after each kill. Every time you kill something, you will recieve a certain amount of these Points, which you may come back here and spend under my guidance."
Now the fun began. He pointed to the board, which indicated two columns.
They were as follows...
RAGE and FORTITUDE.
Each had one skill. Here's how they worked...
RAGE Doublestrike (55 points)
FORTITUDE Nightvision (40 points)
"Now, each skill is a prerequisite to several others. Though I cannot reveal the complete chart as it will affect your decision-making, I will always post here any new skills that you may gain.
Also, I will warn you...once you exceed 16 skills, you are in EXTREME danger of your body's complete destruction due to an overload of such pure power...
Every further skill will increase your chances of instant death upon implantation by 10%...
Be careful.
Now, if you're ready, may I implant the base Espercite?"

Azreal nodded, holding out his arm for the implantation procedure. This was all just another step towards his goal.... the danger of the class never crossed his mind. Just determination.... pure, unbridled determination.
"Please do."

You never actually got to witness the implantation. In one fluid motion, Nicholas had waved his hand in front of your face, and...something like sand seemed to wash over you, putting you instantly to sleep.
When you awoke, it couldn't have been 5, maybe 10 minutes, for Nicholas was still standing nearby, waiting for a response from his newest recruit.
"Well? How do you feel? Like a Dark Hunter? Hah hah...do not fear, you did just fine...
...I reviewed your Blood Status while you were under. You've got quite an impressive count, at 97 points. Would you like to spend them?
Oh. Almost forgot. When you purchase a spell, you may "level it up" for a certain cost as well. This, too, is a requisite for things to come, and will increase the potency of the skill's effects.
...So. Would you like to purchase your first skills as Dark Hunter?"

Azreal sat up. He was dazed, and he wasn't entirely sure his limbs were all that reliable, but...
Dear lord. It couldn't be.
The constant shifting colors and shapes, the dimensional distortions..... they were all absent! He could see! His dementia had clouded from his vision!
He was no fool, and could clearly tell that the dementia still resided in his mind; it's presence was still strong. But... he could see now, clearly, for the first time! The happiness was overwhelming.... he felt like crying tears of joy.
Instead, he turned to Nicholas, a cheerful smile present on his face. "Yes.... I'd like to buy some skills."

"Azreal? Is something the matter? Did we clear up some sort of ailment of yours?"
Certainly the man would never understand...the increased sight of a Hunter...was absoultely beautiful...
"Well, then. It seems we must make our purchases, yes? What will it be?"
Azreal has become a DARK HUNTER.
[Add that as an Occupation, as well as a section for Blood Points.]
Azreal's Max HP went up 279! Azreal's Max MP went up 37! Azreal's DEX went up 5! Azreal's STR went up 2! Azreal's AGI went up 3! Azreal's INT went down 7... Azreal's VIT went down 4...
