Regret and remorse filled her at Piper's tone. She'd upset her and not even with a good reason. It really was so hard for Zahara to explain to her friend. It wasn't so much Malik although sex with him just sickened her, it was the thought of enjoying having that done, enjoying losing all her inhibitions and letting her guards down that twisted her stomach. It had never happened that way and if she had anything to say about it, she'd never go through that again. Consensual was a mockery among drow, no such word truly existed and Zahara had promised herself never again would it be that way. "I'm sorry Piper...I just...never mind." She sighed and turned back shrugging. "I suppose that's all I wanted. You can go back to Malik if you wish."

"No reason to be sorry for. I'm used to it." Why lie about it? Everything that Zahara was doing now, she was used to. Not taking her words for truth, or caring what she said or her view of it all, then taking against Malik like everyone else did because the combination of Malik and Piper just seemed too unfathomable, they seemed too mismatched. But they gave to each other what the other needed, filled those empty spaces. Was it really so bad to others? "Go back to Malik...because that's where I belong, not because I have to." Because Zahara had made it sound almost like an order...allowing her to go back to Malik rather than just telling her she could leave and very well gallivant everywhere and anywhere she may please. But she did turn, pulling open the door and leaving the room to head back downstairs, only to plop in Malik's lap, half curled up in his lap with her face turned into his chest. Stupid Underdark.

"There's a difference, mage, between knowing fear, and being afraid. you're demeanor invites attack. provokes it. tells those that look for it that you are weak, and like any predator, an enemy likes it when things are afriad."
But his voice did go down to that near purring softer tone.
"the one reffered to as the Lich..whom...if I'm not mistaken, was destroyed by a sword blessed by your ancestor's mother. how is then, that he exists in another form?"
Hey, Onyx knew things. like Sevilin, he used a little of his power to keep ears at home, in case he was needed. After all, Bode and Simon lived in the surrounding area.
Onyx offered his blood tipped clawed had to the mage.
Malik was just content to hold her, and pet over her lightly.
"Let me guess. she thought I was raping you?"
That's all that was needed. he knew better, she knew better. But Zahara didn't. Thankfully that had been settled without having to run her through or getting Sevilin involved.

"If only it was that simple, A'mael." No it had to be so much more than that didn't it? The same old story time and time again. She knew every picture they painted on the pages, every word cover to cover, had heard it time and time again...and still she found no like in that story at all. Not a scrap to be found. But Piper was quite content to sit there and remind herself that the story that everyone knew was wrong, and that she knew the real one and that was all that mattered when it came down to it now wasn't it? But any further distaste she had to show was let out in a simple sigh, nuzzling at his chest lightly. "I should be used to it by now and just stop fighting it really. I just don't know when to quit, do I."

"Adapt yourself to your enemies. Dimitri likes to strick where people don't expect, and likes to gloat over the fear he inspires. Act frightened and he'll at elast stay away for the time being." he speach had not changed, but his manner had. He looked scared again. "Simply another precaucion."
"How? I don't know, didn't know that he had been killed. But hey, he's here, he's taken my cousin, and now he's doing ugly things to her."
Roarke too a cloth from his pocket and whipeed the blood off of Onyx's paw. "My blood. I'll probalby need it later." Another, somewhat louder, nervous laugh.
"He had been killed. In fact, Malik informed us, sent a letter or soemthing I think. The Lich was dead, killed by the blessed sowrd, his corn fields were destroyed. I don't see how he could live through soemthing like that."

"Personally, I like that you fight them on it. That you know what's true, and you are willing to tell them what is not true. that you stand up to them."
A smile for her and a kiss.
"Fearlessness is a very attractive quality in you. and don't you forget that. So. Have we heard any word from the twins? I know that Onyx is probably stalking the wilds or that half-elf....did we ever find out where Moonstone ran off to? And what woudl you like for a late lunch or an early dinner?"
Onyx shrugged lightly.
"I had thought it had been his possessing son that had taken her. but then, I also believed that he was destroyed. the cornfiled burned. I know that much. I smelled the stench a long distance off of burnt flesh and plants. and if he is doing such things..why have you not fought? your pride, your family. That is worth killing, and dying for. despite the difference in power."
"Better to face your enemies as a panther than cower as a kitten."
His wings fluttered only slightly. before gesturing to Whirlwind.
"she looks for her, she woudl fight for her, and she is a den mother to her. a mother only in nature. she's your kin, yet you hdie in your academy. Why?"

Jarlaxle smiled softly, an evil glimer echoed in his red eye. "A drow who understands drow is quite impressive for the forsaken fortress. I heard of a girl who ran away from home, and there is the blue skinned one who claims to be drow." The general paused, "There is something I would like to know, and in exchange, something I know will go to you, no debts between true drow."

Roarke waved a hand. "There is no point in throwing ymself into battle only to die recklessly. Die honorably, maybe that's the only thing I'd get. But in the end, what help would I be? None. I am more help alive then dead, and I am dead if I face the Lich."
"I am not a reckless person. I tihnk long before I act. I must gather all the knowledge that I can before I make any move. That first bit if knowledge is, where is the Lich? Not in his old hideout, obviously. Nothing to be found there. So then...where?"
He stopped a moment. "Possessor son?"
Aella folded her amrs. She'd fight, yeah. But only because she didn't know what else to do.

That pulled a smile from her. Just when she was about to give up and give in, he was there to tell her that there was no use in letting everyone else think they were right when they were in fact very very wrong. "Someone has to set the records straight...after all when people look back on this, they have to read the truth and not some inane perception." A small shake of her head. "It's just frustrating sometimes." Though with a sigh she merely rested against him for the time being, regaining herself and taking the comfort that he had to offer. "I've no idea where they've run off too...they're just as impulsive and stubborn as Cymarron and Rand ever were. They just up and leave...though they'll be okay I'm sure...I just hope they keep temselves out of too much trouble." Indeed, it had been quiet without those two kicking around." But a look up at him with a little shrug. "I'm not hungry, not that that's ever held you back."
"He calls himself a Tier'dal...and the other is nothing but surface trash that he keeps as a pampered pet." He studied the other before him for a moment, running his words through his head. Seemed that someone was a little fixated on drow, or rather 'true' drow. That was intriging now was it.
"You want to know something...then ask...and maybe you'll get your answer." If Sevilin found it in his best interest that he answer. Hell, he could live without whatever it was Jarlaxle wanted to tell him, or was trying to convice him with rather.

"A youth, named Din. had the gift of..possessing others. and moving into them..much like a human putting on clothing. there is somethign I did ponder when Whirlwind told me that the minotaur coudl not locate the oracle, though they shared the love of a goddess. does this Earth Mother figure have enemies? and if so, what are thier names? to hid from the power of a goddess, one would think...would require the aid of another diety willing to give it, yes?"
A tilt of his head to Roarke.
"Unless of course the only real love is just the bearing of that name. dieties are fickle that way. why the Vah perhaps do not worship them. To hide from Cazic Thule, once must oft find a temple to Quellious. Perhaps the same is applied here?"
"We agree on that then. and I know that's never stopped me before. you need to learn to eat more and not eat at all hours of the evening. and I know it gets frustrating. but challenges are what life is made of, especially for us. So you had your girl talk, and she'll get over it and life goes on. until the next trouble she gets eiher herself or all of us into. or those two Vah."
A bit of hatred flared in those eyes at the mention of Cymarron. That one would always bear his hate, until one of them was dead for good. and even them if it was Malik that lived longer he'd probably still hold that hate.
"Well at least it's quiet for now."

Jarlaxle smiled, "Should this plane be disconneted from the others, How well would Malik be able to stand up to the horde should his abilities be renouced again?" In other words, could Malik survive another attack, perhaps one with emotion.

"I don't know how god's work on other planes, but it doesn't require the love of a god to be connected with one. Idles, blessings, spells, they encorage the powers of one deity or another. Simply by filling an area with the aura of one god can block out another. It works both ways though."
"As far as i know, she doesn't have an enemy. She has a counter part, the Sky Father."
"Din? Din...yes I know who that is. We've been keeping an eye on him, until soem time ago. He wonders, has a dendecy to forget where he is, what he's doing, who he's met and been in contact with. We were making sure he stayed out of trouble." Said with a bit of concern.

She rolled her eyes slightly. "I don't see why, I'm perfectly healthy, even for a surface elf in the Underdark." Again why was he so stubborn on her eating habits? Not like it was terribly important or anything, as she said she was healthy and all. "Challenges are good and all, but it's nice to go a day without them you know?" Indeed, a day where they could kick back and things didn't go wrong in some way. A true luxury down here. Though she didn't blink at the passing look at the name, it was there every time it was mentioned and she knew better than to say anything to it. That's just how it was. "I don't like quiet...peaceful noise is more to my tune."
Well Sevilin could be quite right honest now couldn't he? There was a draw back to asking the low man on the totem pole of seniority. "That...I have not the means to tell you the answer correctly. But I can tell you that I've never seen him pull any other planar forces into his battles...thus as I have seen then. A moot question and answer for you."
Malik was a necromancer after all. They had the potential to raise the long dead so long as there were still corpses to rise. Then sometimes one didn't need a corpse either now did they? "But bearing that in mind...he stands his ground like a predator claiming it's kill. Or so I've seen." Rather fancy talk for Malik was just horribly stubborn and didn't know when to quit, even if he was loosing. "Though as I hear it...to bring death upon him isn't the wisest...if that's what you're eventually getting at."
"My turn then, yes? Why, exactly, are you all interested in a lone drow, foreign to your own plane who would bear little threat if left alone. Snakes don't strike if they are left to themselves after all."

"Perhaps, you are onto something more than you know, but then again, I am not obliged to tell you where I was born."
"I have no interest in this lone planar traveller, but the gate he has... does interest me. Do you know how many deities are promising their servents 'The Land of Milk and Honey'?" Jarlaxle smirked, "Not that such a thing exists." An indirect answer to his question, but this cunning Drow could probably place all the pieces together and realize the truth.
"Perhaps, you should insist as we have on numerous occassions, that the one who's death brings destruction reduce his gateway to ash, and never opens the portal to that plane again, then maybe our interest in this horrid backwater place would also fade away, or maybe we have an interest in ending existance. You know the embrace of Lloth, how far would you go to escape it?"

He knew what Jarlaxle was getting at. That planes gate that Malik had in his basement. Hm, to invite destruction to the whole of the Andalian plane. It was quite tempting. But what came from Sevilin was an amused look and an out right mocking laugh.
"That is what all this fuss is about. I assure you, there it nothing on the other side of that gate that's of true interest to the likes of the drow. Milk and Honey is quite far from the truth indeed." And he would know, because he was from there. Andal was so...ugh.
Though his humor faded at the mention of Spider b***h. "Embrace is hardly a word to describe her hold." Oh he'd hit a nerve and when Sevilin's nerves got poked at he tended to not play nice. "Though if you want an honest answer...however far my will took me." A shake of his head and a dismissive gesture. "To waste so much in an effort that bears no fruit." Sure...that gate could lead elsewhere...if you knew how to work it.
