Styk and I got plans for a series of events spanning two weeks in the RP timeline that will probably cause emotional whiplash. Things will definitely smooth out afterward. Styk's got something major of his own happening at the same time that's more like a classic mission.
I'm not sure if anybody else has something planned or wants to plan something but I sure hope so. It'd be pretty sweet if we got back to doing things the old way, weaving all interactions together, with the stronger cast we have now and without all the initial problems.
--------------- Unrelated but somewhat funny: I switched to a very minimalist web browser the other day and near the end of my all-day online session I was wondering why its RAM usage was hovering at 1.4GB (references: a fresh process only uses 72-100 megabytes, and there are 1024 megabytes in a gigabyte) out of my available 1.73GB (in reality, 2GB, but iirc some is used for cache). Then I looked back in the instruction manual (I'm still learning the 90 or so commands) and realized that I was hiding tabs when right-clicking them rather than closing them! So that meant I unknowingly had a bajillion tabs open.
Either that or there's a memory leak somewhere. That would suck.

@Korra: Foxi was all mad at me because I didn't cry.... I was flailing rabidly in the corner, but I didn't tear up XD
Edit: @D.D.: So, I finally posted... and then I realized I hadn't made an outfit for Xander for the current day in the RP. So I was browsing through TekTek trying to come up with something, and got a little... carried away. But, that's sort of what I like about it. It definitely screams Xander to me. Like, I could totally see him throwing things out of his wardrobe trying to find a jacket to wear out in the snow and getting irritated that he just can't find anything fabulous enough. So he tosses bag of fabric aside in frustration and it falls over onto his desk chair with some feathers and chains and he's just like "That's it. A cape! That's perfect! What says fabulous better than a cape?" And so he puts together this ridiculous flowing cape with a crest on the shoulder and feathers sticking out and chains holding it over one shoulder while it billows in the winter winds. ....*totally over thinking an outfit that's only going to be worn once*

Honestly I kind of didn't like that he just gave her back her bending so easily. They tied up all of the plot points of the series now.. so I have no idea what they're going to do in the next season. Personally, I think it would have been more in Aang's character to try teaching her to understand how to unlock it on her own in order to more connect with her spiritual side rather than be like "You only had to deal with this problem for a couple days and still beat the bad guy! But here's a shortcut to solve all your problems, yay!"
Also, Amon was such a better villain that Fire Lord Ozai ever was. That whole scene about his backstory, and then the final scene between him and Tarlok... oh god, that actually made me tear up.

@ Koji: I'm looking into it still. My desktop manager (Openbox) allows me to close tabs with a right-click, so I'd been using that to close the web tabs in this browser. The browser is almost completely key-driven, and that should have been my hint. Although I have noticed on some pages (mainly Reddit, Youtube and Subeta), the memory usage goes up permanently by a small amount if I allow scripts or plugins. So it was probably both.
@ Nariana: (Rewrote my reply about 5 times to cull my knee-jerk snarky reactions; forgive me if I left anything out.) ...from a Windows point of view: Neither browser is as reliable as I want. Firefox has worse problems with memory usage and leakage than any of the browsers I use now (Opera, Chromium, Links2, dwb), and Internet Explorer has way too many security holes to even be considered a choice. I wouldn't stick with software on a commercial/proprietary operating system just because it's pre-installed.
@ Pen: Hm....what do you mean by 'too good' of an opportunity to jump in? What would happen to Pen?
Unrelated: I wish Gaia had an official post style feature. And I'm not talking about the frills around the speech bubbles either.

@waffle: I've always loved the post styles I see people come up with out in the forums... I never really understood how some of them got so detailed, because the most I can figure out is how to align an image.
@ Koji: Well this is mine from another site that lets you set post style in the site preferences and automatically applies it to your posts. Sometimes I'll change where the #! goes just for kicks. I just wish Gaia had the same feature, but I know the devs will be all "lol but it's sooo much work for the servers!".

The TekTek Toolbar for Firefox lets you create 3 post styles foe Gaia, and you can choose any of the three to automatically apply. I haven't had it downloaded since my desktop crashed, but I used to use it all the time. I think it even let's you choose which posting style to use in different areas of the site, like guilds/profiles/forums. Not sure if they have a download for other browsers though.
Totally and completely off-topic, but the new items from the Streetpunk bundle were finally uploaded into TekTek and I decided to go to town with it. Well, when I saw the grunge pants from the Kiken Rider item and thought ". . . This has Skotti all over it. . ." So, I went to town and made something different: Bam, Bitches!!!
I decided to tuck the shirt in so that the belt and the chains could be seen. I added the hat to match the shirt- This look kinda reminds me of sort of a Boy George type thing, but I gave it more of a rockin' vibe using the bracelet and the pants. I noticed that Skotti uses cowboy boots a lot of the time, too. So, I threw those in because to me that screams "Skotti" (if I didn't know any better, I'd say he loves things that scream his name!- Makes me wonder how his Wife is doing these days! [/Trying to be a comedian]). I even threw in the Cig and the guitar case remembering that Rikka smokes and plays the guitar. You can't see them, but I also added the drop dead gorgeous earrings because I recall him using those a lot when he TekTeks Rikka. He also uses the shades! So I put those in. Sadly it covers what I did with the eyes; I used the red eyeshadow from The Masquerade item, and I used the black mascara item from that too- The red was to make her crimson eyes kinda pop a little more. So. . . [Nods] Hopefully when Skotti comes back, and sees this, he might like it. It actually took me a while to put the look together because I couldn't make a decision on some of the items. . But I think I made it work for sure!
