@Mab: OH MY GOOOOOOD I hated that at my high school! This one time a friend of mine had to do some research for a project, and she needed some pictures. So she goes out to google and types something in (I think it was on ancient Rome or something), and everything's blocked. Fed up, she randomly types in the world yaoi (guy loves guy manga) and everything that comes up is also blocked. She then types in yuri (girl loves girl manga) and nothing's blocked. She yelled out "PERVERTS!" right in the library. (I was with her when this happened.)

So it was last year sometime in my Earth Science (geology, mainly, bunch of astronomy too) class, and you teacher likes using the internet to show us pictures of what we're studying, like certain formations and stuff...
so one day, we're talking about (something or other, it was either water- or space-related) and he Googles it. In innocent typo works its way into the work (7-10 letters long) and the ENTIRE FIRST PAGE is anime characters
....He wonders what the heck's up, the jocks wonder what the heck's up, I and the other 5 otaku (close enough, I know I'm not, myself) know what's up. we found the typo, he fixed it, good times had by all (after 3 more typos that returned no meaningful results, that's another story)
Moral: everyone over 40 seems to have no clue what anime is

@Mab: Haha!! Yeah, I can agree with that; experienced it firsthand myself. Although at times around the yearly convention I go to, the adults are always thrilled to see us crazy cosplayers. One couple my friends and I met last year even try to guess who each person is dressed as. ^^
