The scientific explanation of magic moves in role-play, in my opinion, Samayou, is that it is only needed to a certain degree. Look at Lusik in my fight against Trebuchet, typically speaking my explanations for causing torrential rain and as of right now, summoing a tornado is touching on what as far as I'm aware to be the scientific explanation for creating tornadoes, though while it could be wrong, I give enough for me opponent to understand I'm not simply saying 'I can do this because I say I can'
Ertai on the other hand I find over-complicates his posts with a mass of scientific jargon and descriptive abuse/rape of what he does, which is completely and utterly un-needed. Ertai does have writing capability, but he draws out what he writes far more than needed instead of getting to the point. He claims upper-class status over all of us because he can make his posts seemingly appear far more powerful and amazing through simple over-use of words whereas really what he does is nothing spectacular at all.
In brief, some science is needed so your opponent can understand what you're doing. You don't need too put so much detail into an attack from a scientific stand-point to make it believable, anyone who doesn't keep a theasaurus installed to their brain can write a believe post of detail without using reams and reams of useless detail.

Kaminosai Vincent. V Ex-~ I just don't like Ertai's attitude. He pisses me off. I'd just love to smack him off his high horse, and if not me, then anyone in this tournament. Because I want to see how quickly his ego deflates when it happens. Yes I'm a horrible, vengefull b*****d like that, you'll learn to live with it. domokun Funny, that sounds like something Ertai would say. No offense. Seriously people, GET OFF THE ERTAI TRIP. HE'S JUST ANOTHER MORON AND NOT WORTH ALL THIS ATTENTION.Christ, talking about him all the time like this is only convincing him that his already overinflated ego is justified. Psst! The more his ego goes up, the worse he's gonna feel when one of us pwns the s**t out of him. It's all good that he feels mighty now, but when the Leprechaun starts his mojo, no one stops him, no one.

Don't know what page it is one. And I agree with what you say Vincent. Some description is fine, but when you get to the level of star trek technobable then you've done something wrong.

I wonder if anybody's ever noticed that its quite impossible to explain MAGIC, the polar opposite of science (along with religion), with SCIENCE. People call it magic because you can't explain it with science.

It's all good that he feels mighty now, but when the Leprechaun starts his mojo, no one stops him, no one. Y'know... I was going to argue that point but the phrase "Leprechaun starts his mojo" rendered me incapable of finding fault in anything you said.

People call it magic because you can't explain it with science. Don't, someone may just try to use some crack pot fringe theory to say that magic is real. Or metaphysics, which has no quantifiable nature so is just a fancy way of saying supernatural.

People call it magic because you can't explain it with science. That, Raven, is why science can only touch the ice of role-playing, because the only thing that applies to it, is to restrict some of the magic itself to stop people god-modding. Otherwise, scientific explanations of mine only revolve around, if what Lusik was doing was occuring naturally, that is how it would work.

Why would you even think of argueing, the whole point is that people need to pwn ertai, and it seems to me that Gamba, who is secretly me, but tell anyone, K? That Gamba was about to pwn because I caught him on his level, but below it, becuase he thinks he's God. Muahahahaha! I'm the Leprechaun b***h, we are cooler than God. cool wink "Can't touch dis, can't touch dis"

Well, I guess my character is the most obscene character in here, I mean he could pull a tank out of his pocket if he wanted to, or change into a jumbo jet, and he be a little s**t and eat someone from the inside. -looks at vincent- You member, come on you member?!?! -nudges-

True, and as someone stated on another forum. As soon as you start using energy from other planes then you've left science fiction, you've entered the realm of fantasy.
Paraphrasing of course.
