His vehemence shocked her for a moment and she blinked, hwy was he was determined that she wasn't worthy of her worry? "Because Sevilin, I'm not a normal Drow, I know that and so do you." She turned away for a moment before slamming her hands back on her hips and glaring. "She did come to my aid when I needed it! She let me stay here against Malik's thoughts and she stepped in when Malik got far too overbearing! She walked out on him for me." she said and suddenly what Piper had done hit her. "She walked out on him...of course she probably always intended to come back but she still did it. I have her promise that Malik no longer has control over my collar and I believe her! You're just too jaded for your own good Sevilin and mark my words I will get her away from him. Nobody should have to go through that, nobody! Nobody should be controlled like that!" She shook her head and then said much more quietly, "You should know what that's like...weren't you controlled against your will for years and years...?" she was pushing now and she knew it but it was the only way she thought she might be able to get his help.

If there was a line to cross, she had just crossed that. Shown as he clenched his hands into fists a moment and stepped closer to her, be it because he wanted to be there or because he was trying to intimidate, even he didn't know. "You should not speak lightly of what you do not know...do you think I am to share some symapthy with her for that? That that little fact should sway my thoughts on the situation? Life is nothing more than a struggle...and one must complete that struggle on their own...to help them is to invite death upon them when you leave thier company."
"I've seen that look she gives him...the look of a surface elf who gives everything they are to someone else, foolish as it may be. And he takes what she gives and drinks of it as if a man thirsting for water in the desert. There is a distinct difference in being controlled against your wishes and giving control. Maybe she likes it that way...who are we to say what goes on in her head."

Oh this was getting good. Malik was just enjoying time with Piper, eating fruit and letting the fire warm them both and the harp sing..though Ramoth, who was wandering the shadows aroudn her Zephmares, was feeding him on what Sevilin and Zahara were discussing. after all she didn't like sevilin..mostly becuase he owned that little thief rat. and being unobtrusively watching her foals let them play and take part in the games all young horses play, both for establishing the herd order and building thier natural skills, without doign things to try and impress mommy.
"So, dear Piper..you never did tell me what got you to go down to Broog on your own. Still going to keep that secret or going to spill the beans to me?"

She refused to back down, refused to be swayed, she was going to get his help even if it was begrudgingly or it caused him to erupt and smack her around a bit. Though she did retreat slightly, until she felt the wall at her back. At this point, she just didn't care. "And you yourself have never helped anyone, Sevilin? I find that hard to believe knowing how you feel about being under a woman's boot. You wouldn't have done a lot but you would have done something to keep others ending up just like you!" She clenched her own fists and took a step closer, oh great, two drow basically snarling at each other. "And maybe she's been brainwashed or drugged to like it that way! Maybe this is the best treatment she's ever recieved! That still doesn't make it right. It's not right what happened to you and it's not right that he has this control over her! And I won't stand for it." Her eyes burned with the outrageousness, the indignity of it all and she was fairly quaking with rage. "I promised myself never again and I meant never again," she said fiercely. It was like a nightmare come back to haunt her, the one she couldn't escape from no matter how hard she tried.

He didn't back down and when she stepped forward, that put them literally toe to toe with each other, Sevilin looking down at her with that stern unwavering gaze that a father may hold for his children when they acted up. Though that look wasn't purely just that...it had that underlying sense of wonderment at her. Here she was, trying to persuade his help...not ordering it from him or throwing magic or somethign sharp at him to get him to do or, or even just slapping him around. She was asking. Though it seemed 'no' wasn't the answer she liked.
In his eyes it was there...how her equating Piper to his own somehow. But then a bit of hurt flashed in those eyes...a mere sceond it was there, a hurt and a sadness, tinged with regret when she mentioned his 'helping'. "I helped someone once...and they died with my aid." Why was that so bad? Because of who it had been to him...at the time he had soothed the other with a single line...'It's for the best.'. But he still regretted it to this day.
Though picking up on his own exposed self those eyes hardened back to their more emotionless state. "You can't compare me and her, it's different and you know it is." For a long moment it seemed, he watched her. "Why is it so important to you that it never happens again? That he does what? Order her around? Keep her at heel? Rape her? If it's even that...you can't rape the willing..." That was a familiar line that had been drilled into his brain, and he thought it truth in all aspects, whether it was or wasn't. "Why are you so incessant about this that it would drive you to me?"

She watched him closely and she caught that flash in his eyes, that hint of pain that she herself felt sometimes. He'd caused someone's death and he still felt guilty about it. That right there told her he was not like any other Drow she'd ever known. As soon as it flashed in his face, she felt her stomach clench and an overwhelming need to comfort him. Her hand moved to his face, and rested against his cheek gently, "You did what you thought best..." she whispered. "The same thing I'm trying to do." Of course in the next moment his eyes had hardened and she dropped her hand shakily barely stifling the urge to caress his cheek gently. And tender moment was gone. Who would have even guessed a tender moment would have passed. But at his last words her gaze glittered once again and she shook her head, "I will not stand by and see her subjugated to that. Rape is rape, willing or not. And if you are not willing because you dont' know any better, it's still rape. Women in our society do that to men every damn day. I didn't leave that to find it in existence in reverse here."

He had looked away from her for the briefest moment, trying to collect himself...he knew his eyes always betrated him wether he liked it or not. But that scant aversion had been enough time to let her lay a hand to his cheek. And he didn't slap it away for wrench it away by her wrist like he should have. No, he let himself indulge the scant few seconds of comfort, of course that was before his eyes regained their defenses and she had dropped her hand all too quickly.
"It's not always best you know...we think we are doing right when in theory we can be doing wrong, doing harm to those around us that we don't intend to hurt. You're so hung up on this being something she doesn't want. I say it again...surface elves are deciteful creatures...they take glee in disgusing themselves and thier cruelieties. Try to wrench her away and you'll only get yourself in a bad situation or hurt." Why did he care right? Didn't know, but he did.
"But you still did not answer why. Why is this so important to you? Why speak with such passion? Why not any others? You seem to just fancy her...why not try to help your own first if you fine the act so despicable?" Sevilin shook his head lightly...this woman did nothing but confuse him adn speak opposite of what he knew...or rather the only thing he knew. "Why just her?"

Oh so that's what she thought. Worse case thenhe first figured..but along the same lines. Nevermind about it anymore Ramoth. Just tend to your foals. I'll deal with her and the rune mage in proper fashion if she tries anything. The a smirk at Piper.
"Of course you can have secrets. but that doesn't mean I'm not going to try and pry them out of you."
Tracing his fingers over her stomach in a light, tickling manner, while snagging another orange slice and some more banana chips. Interesting trun of events indeed.

She had dug at him and now he was returning the gesture. It was understandable that much was true. But could she tell him? No, she really didn't think she could bring herself to explain why not. "I think you're biased Sevilin, and I don't mean that in a rude or insulting manner. I simply think that much the way most surface elves are biased against the drow you are the same." She shook her head lightlyand leaned back against the wall that was at her back, chuckling, "As if I could change my society's mind. Come now Sevilin, you know as well as I do what would happen if I went back home and started talking about things like this, it not being right the way women treat the men." She laughed bitterly, "Lloth would be so happy to have me sacrificed I swear she'd actually smile and not cruelly." A small pause and her smile faded and seriousness once again overtook her demeanor. "She's my friend and I know that might seem strange to you but she's the first one who reached out to me and she's never let me down. If something happens to change that...well then I'll act accordingly."

Her eyes watched his fingers a moment, and they did indeed draw a light laugh from her. Good thing she wasn't overly ticklish, she considered it a blessing. But her eyes moved back to his with a light smile alighting her lips. "Pry all you like, some things you just shouldn't know until you really need to know. Especially the good things." Sure there was a no secrets rule between them, but there was a difference between these kinds of secrets and the ones that caused fights. "And don't think that you can just go down to Broog and ask him either...he's on my side remember?" Said with a wink and a spark of gold in her eyes, just because.
She was so very very frustrating. Enough to make him sigh over it all and actually back down dome, walking away a few paces before turning back to face her. He hadn't really known how tense he'd been when they were closer until he had walked away. "I'm not biased thank you very much, I've seen it first hand." And that was all he was going to say to that.
"So you can't change the mind of your soceity but you think you can change her's...if it even needs changing. Don't you find it odd...she's a surface elf living in the Underdark with another dark elf. She wears a collar that both clain is not used. You're going to be putting energy into a useless battle."
He laughed bitterly. "I wouldn't expect any less of her. We all know the story...a little mix blood elf who up and ran away from home one day, letting her cowardice have her. She needs someone to heel to. I could care less who that is. And even if she's your friend, she isn't mine...there's just nothing in the deal for me at all, rather than to have Malik breathing down my neck."

Disappointment swamped her as he backed away, she'd kind of liked him that close but she needed to focus on what was happening right now. She could tell that something had happened to him but she wasn't going to pry into his life when she wasn't willing to allow him the same courtesy. Their secrets were better left that way. "Piper does what she wants to do, until it comes to Malik. He's a first rate a** and likes control. And that would be fine if that's what Piper wanted. But that's not all it is. Didnt' you see the bruises? The scratches? That tells me something even if it doesnt' tell you the same thing." She sighed softly leaning her head against the stone, exposing her neck. "I knew it was probably futile to ask for your help, but I thought it might be a good idea to try." She paused for a moment and then looked at him. "Why are you actually being nice to me? In the state I'm in, I'd think you'd tell Malik that you couldn't even be around me to teach me..." Yes she was truly confused when it came to his actions. She knew why she was so aroused and attracted to him...but why was he looking at her peculiarly, why hadn't he jerked her hand away from his face and slapped her like he had last time? Why the change?

"She does what she wants to do until it comes to Malik, is that what you said? Then how come she's so brazen against him and he doesn't deal retaliation back? I wouldn't take her guff if I were him yet it tolerates it, attempts to soothe it. Seems to me he lets her do whatever she wants and is first to try and ebb her emotions." He clenched a fist, walking back over to her, stopping about five feet of space between them. "How do you know what she wants anyway? Malik seemed pretty adamand that those were all done in 'passion' have you asked her? Or do you think she spouts nothing but lies?"
Honestly this was just an irritating situation he had walked into. "Do you think she can survive without Malik? If she can't do you intend to take care of her? Then she'd just be your pet instead of his." Though he was intrigued by her oh so free actions. No drow in thier right mind would expose thier neck like that to another, it was just foolish.
Though he was caught off guard again as she turned the subject to him. he merely wrinkled his nose at her as he scoffed lightly. "I've been around drow women in your condition...and here's the difference. We both know I can out do you in terms of raw strength, and I don't fear you. That in mind, why shouldn't I be able to teach you as if it was just another ordinary day?" He shook his head..."Just because I have a certain hatred for women, doesn't mean I feel the need to take vengene on them...what you don't like me being civil to you?"

Was she reading the situation wrong? Was it done in passion? But those bruises...the scratches and even the screaming. Yes she'd heard it, it had yanked her out of reverie the night before. His words caused her to freeze, the blood turning to ice once again in her veins as she saw it so clearly in her mind's eye. She remembered another pair of bruised hips..another scratched back and for a moment it seemed she was lost in that memory her eyes going wide and then closing and her breath coming in gasps. She saw those blood red eyes once again, teh hatred emanating from them and she shook her head, "No...it can't be true!" She turned away from him so he couldn't see the fear in her eyes, the terror that was probably on her face. Just him saying the words brought the memories back...that reverie was coming. She could feel it. When she finally faced him again, she murmured softly, "Perhaps I should go talk to Piper..." Elves, forced to relive their memories over and over and over again, whether they wanted to or not.

And he pretty much got weirded out as she had presumed to zone out, her eyes widening in that oh so common show of fear, body language speaking of it as well. Even her little outcry puzzled him...before he frowned. Sevilin didn't like to be puzzled either....it did irritate him so so much. He shook his head lightly at her as she turned away from him so he couldn't see what so blatantly played on her face.
Sevilin gave another sigh. This was giving him a headache and for a moment he braced his temples with the thumb and index finger of one hand, shaking his head lightly. What the hell was with the talk of mutiny and what not. "If you're going to talk to her only to try and convince her she's delusional or you're not going to believe what truth she gives you, then spare yourself the frustration."
