"Should we take her home?" one asked.
"I don't know. Let's escort her down to the station anyway. We can either find her parents or maybe find her somewhere to stay" the other said.

((I got a funny idea. What if there happened to be a very rich family with a daughter that looks like Laura, and their house burned down and killed everybody? Then Laura would get shipped off to some 'relative' that the daughter had never met and get stuck there with a bunch of rich people who live in the city. That would be hilarious!))
'Oh crap! oh crap! oh crap!' Laura thought. Laura pretended to whip her tears and looked at the officer. "What are you going to do to me?" she asked cutely. "Please don't take me home."

"Alright then...wait, what do you mean 'until'?" Anthony stated.

Laura gave a small nod and was reluctantly shoved into the car. The police drove her down to the station and she stumbled out. Again, the officers practally dragged her up the steps. A woman was behind the front desk.
"Hey, did you read the paper?" She asked. "Check this out. The Anderson's mansion burned down. None were left alive." She said, handing the officer the paper. The family portrait happened to be to the side of the picture of the burnt down house. The officer took a quick look at the paper and his eyes widened.
"Hey. That girl wouldn't happen to be..." He stuttered, looking between the picture and Laura. Then he looked at the article. "Several bodies could not be identified, leading people to believe that it is possible their 16 year old daughter Maria is still alive. Your name... wouldn't happen to be Maria, would it, little girl."
"Um..." Laura stuttered and thought. "Yes, why?"

The officer slowly and reluctantly showed Laura the paper.
"Of course I am" Anthony said.

((Ok, I was mistaken. I can fit in another post or two... >.< ))
Laura read the paper. 'Maria Anderson...' Laura thought. 'ok, well, I'll just have to 'run away' again.' She thought. Laura sat down and pretended to cry her eyes out.
"Hey, doesn't her aunt live nearby? That old lady in the huge mansion at the end of town. The one with all of those fancy parties every weekend. I got invited once, and she told me she was related to Mr. Anderson's wife." The lady said. The officer gave a small sigh and called the old lady up. After a few moments, Laura pretended to have calmed down and the officer sighed.
"Well, your 'aunt' said she would take you in for the time being. She want's you to come as soon as possible. They said they're having a dance tomorrow night and they would prefer being prepared as soon as possible." The officer tried to explain. Laura gave a small nod. Within a few minutes. Laura was shoved back into an officer car and being driven to the edge of town. 'this... sucks...' Laura thought.
