So, I'm severely disappointed with E3. neutral The media screwed everyone over, because they got priority. I waited in line to see the Assassin's Creed 3 gameplay demo for 2 hours, because media stopped by when it was time for another showing, and they were let in before any of the people waiting in line, so the theater filled up and we had to wait. Other than that, none of the games I wanted to get more info on were open unless you were media. Bethesda closed off all their exhibit to press only [which is the place I wanted to see the most because of The Elder Scrolls Online, and Dishonored], and Sony did the same. Nintendo wasn't doing anything I give a s**t about so I didn't have anything to look at there, I passed right by the Microsoft/Xbox booth because I saw their press conference. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 had a booth, but it wasn't anything new, just a new Tekken Tag but with all the newer characters. I got to play a demo of Kingdom Hearts 3D, the graphics look better than they did on the PS2 (which is pretty damn snazzy for a handheld device) and it played the same as the PS2 games, which was nice.. but made the demo superfluous. There was gameplay footage of The Lord of the Rings Online, and it looks exactly like Diablo 3, but with LotR characters. A new Dead or Alive is coming out, which I couldn't care less about. There were TONS of games being released for mobile devices, such as smart phones and tablets, most of which seemed run of the mill. EA had sports games, information on their new content for the Star Wars MMO, and the Dead Space 3 gameplay demo, which actually looked really damn cool. And that's about it..
On the way to our hotel, we made it a little over halfway, and Foxi realized she forgot her badge, so we had to turn around and go all the way back to her apartment to get it [which added a solid hour and a half to our trip down]. By the time we got to the hotel, we were all so tired that we didn't feel like going to the convention hall, and it would have closed about an hour after we got there anyway, so we stayed in the hotel room playing old Nintendo 64 games. On Wednesday, we got to the convention at 10. We browsed the hall, feeling completely overwhelmed by the awesomeness of the show floor, and then finally decided to hit up the Dead Space exhibit first. It took us about an hour to get through the line because of the issue with the press, and because the presentation was half an hour long. It was cool because they went over a lot and made it worth the wait. Assassin's Creed, on the other hand, was a 2 hour wait (while I was trying to deal with the effects of food poisoning from the previous night.) and the presentation was only 15 minutes... when the game play demo they released before was 7 minutes. So we waited 2 hours in line for 7 minutes of game play, that only gave a small amount of additional information. Then, Wednesday night, we had tickets to Video Games Live at the Nokia Theater. It's a concert with a full live orchestra and choir that performs video game music. IT WAS AMAZING. Best part of my trip, and it wasn't even part of the convention. They had an entire section of the concert for Pokemon, and they played clips from the old games and the first season of the anime on screens in the background. It was so awesome, I had chills. Then they played the Team Rocket motto music, and had everyone in the audience say the motto whee There was an awesome flute player who performed a medley of music from Mario and Legend of Zelda. The host was an awesome guitarist who played stuff from Starfox, Earthworm Jim and a bunch of other things. They performed the main theme from Skyrim which was so ******** amazing live.. omg. [here's the song for reference: [x].] Also, apparently Aerith's Theme from FFVII made it to the list of best classical music of all time, so they performed that [which was so beautiful]. It was a 2 and a half hour event, and it was a giant theater filled with gamer geeks, it was glorious. I think that basically covers my week.. so yeah.

@ Koji: I hate to say it, but I pretty much called it; E3 got crappy not too long after they got snooty about it. It's good that the orchestra salvaged the trip, though.
