"I am," Kevin agreed, proudly. He could at least hold his breath longer than the average human--he'd never really timed it. "HEY!" He sputtered and dove after Toby, sending a wave his way. He surfaced and laughed. "You cheated!"

Toby spat lake water. "I did not! I didn't agree to any contest!"
He grinned and splashed Kevin again.

Kevin sent another splash Toby's way. "Contest or not, I'm not going to let you win!" He splashed the werewolf again. "I like this lake," he decided. "Will you bring me here more?"

Toby grinned and blocked the splash as best he could with only an arm.
"Sure!" he said, and used both hands to cause a big splashover.

Kevin dove underwater and used his hands to send waves at Toby. He surfaced then. "Aren't you worried about swimming with me?" he asked. "I've never swam with anyone." Not that he'd ever hurt Toby--he'd learned the hard way; he really hated when the man got hurt.
"I like swimming with you."

"No," Toby said with a laugh. He knew Kevin. He trusted him. Unseelie were naturally dangerous, but they were people too, sometimes. When you got to know one...really got to know them, beyond the surface and the tricks, only then you could make your judgement.
Besides, Toby could drown a teenager before he was drowned himself, but they were in the middle of public in the middle of the day. Someone would save whoever. He spit water from his lips and smiled.
"I'm glad."

Kevin blinked. He wasn't worried? Not even a little. What did that mean? The kelpie considered this for a moment, before it dawned. Toby trusted him. That meant something, Kevin thought. Toby hadn't seemed to like him at all, when they'd first met, and had definitely been distant the second time; but now, what were they? What label was he supposed to put on their relationship?
"Are we friends, Toby?"

Dari had spent weeks trying to build himself up for it. No time seemed the right time. He didn't want to destroy Cody's happiness at any moment. So he had decided to call him. His eyes were closed as he steeled himself. Cody would be so happy to hear from him...

Cody picked up the phone immediately. "Hi love!" He said cheerily. "Hey, I was going to invite you to the park today. Want to join me?"

He was already nervous when he pulled up and made his way to the apartment. He knocked with a deep sigh and rubbed his mouth. He had to do it. He had to.
