E3 = Electronic Entertainment Expo

Up until a few years ago, it was an open convention for anyone to come and see the latest project video game companies are working on, but they were getting too crowded and so they restricted access to media only, or people of the industry. And, since I was still a Game Art & Design student when registration was open, I got a free ticket for being in the industry.
So yeah, pretty excited. It is a professional environment though, since access has been limited to media and industry, so it's a no to cosplaying.
And, since it's going to cost so much for a hotel room and food for the 3 days, I won't be able to afford to go to Anime Expo in July

..xD; I've been feeling old since 18... I swear I still feel like I've barely graduated high school even though it's been 4 years now..

E3: I used to avidly watch coverage of the expo until the second year since they cut out the public entry. It wasn't just the game and hardware previews that kept my attention, but the opening shows the companies put up and and looking at all the neat (sometimes silly) costumes people wore. I still think it's stupid that they stopped letting the common folk to create an air of 'professionalism' (snobbery, really), but then again I lost interest in video games altogether (...this coming from someone who was practically raised by games and learned to ********> read because of them and the manuals that came with them...).

Age: I think the average around here is in the early-mid 20s.


I'm playing Pokemon White and I'm so pissed that they actually added a profanity filter to the naming system. Now I can't give my honorary useless-npc-trade-fodder title of "p***s" to pokemon anymore. I had to replace the i with a semicolon. >:c
(I'm also doing some science regarding npc pokemon trades, because I know in Pokemon Black/White there's a trainer in one town that asks for some pokemon and later challenges you to a battle if you come back post-league, using the same pokemon you traded. I wonder if they keep names and moves, but I forgot to load it with HMs that can't be removed. razz )

Bah, I don't play Pokemon anymore. I miss those awesome days, but I just hate learning Pokemon all over again. ;n; Filtering it is silly when you have thousands of people who are above 13 playing the game. Stop putting blocks on everything, gais. Seriously.
