bundlesofjoy I think I'll reroll for everything except sex, name, and what side it's on, since those were complete non-issues. It occurred to me just today that earlier in the year, my computer science teacher told us that random numbers are not actually random, they are only pseudorandom and given enough trials, will definitely tend toward (a) certain number(s). Computers, Y U NO PERFECT? Its because of two things... they use an algorithm which cannot behave in a chaotic/random way. And two... most of the algorithms used require seeds.... and the same seed will generate the same "random number". Wrong Omega... I'm a Computer Engineer... they were made by me... and I am not a man. Also... on a longer rant which I will cut brief... one can argue that nothing is truly random anyway.... the roll of the dice... natural disasters, the spin of planets... all of it is based in physics... the dice will always land on the heavier face... solar winds cause the change in the magnetic field of the earth, causing plates to move and areas of the atmosphere to shift.... the momentum generated by the gravitational pull of the sun, other planets, and otherwise large objects... etc... nothing that happens is random.

That is kinda part of the purpose of the roleplay anyway. Chaos over order.
I am personally too torn between the two to side with either one. If you read the philosophies of the people who follow chaos, they make as much sense as order, so long as you have an open mind. The chaos supersedes the current level of human understanding blah blah blah....
There are weird things in physics that make people scratch their heads.... ******** quantum s**t.....

I've taken quantum physics... lets not go there... lord knows I don't want to. It might have been a three month course... but I swear it shaved at least three YEARS off my life.

Yea... read the principia discordia. it goes into it a bit.
I am reading Liber Kaos in between bouts of Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter.
That mixes Quantum Physics, with the idea of a chaos universe, with the idea of the occult and magic.
It is very interesting, but ******** all it ain't easy to read....

It is, it is strange to me that the idea of chaos magic is all centered around physics and things of order. I mean it does make sense from their explanation, (Chaos can be disorderly order and Order can be orderly chaos, the entire idea of chaos/order is but an illusion as all things are chaotic.... using flickering energy of subatomic particles and other phenomena beyond our current understanding as proof... since no matter how far we go, there will always be that next level beyond understanding.)but from a silly unenlightened curious outsider such as myself the idea sounds silly when simplified....
Really, it doesn't matter. Use the order when necessary, engineering, science, creation, theory, code, law, so on. Use Chaos when your soul is hungry.
Nothing sends more fear into one's head then the realization that we have no ******** idea what anything is about, or why anything if anything matters at all. It is eye opening to think about just how beautiful the world would be when that one solar flare reaches out too far, and in a matter of seconds we watch the tar boil on our roofs and the trees catch aflame before we are incinerated.
Sure order understands that concept, but chaos embraces the why, the significance of that. Both have their place I think. I am still learning though, so a week from now i may have something different.
You can't have the idea of chaos, without the concept of order. Without order chaos would simply be as the the great gurus say "Being Is.... Being Is.... Being Is.... OM......" and in opposition without the concept of chaos, there is no self, there is only the system set down by the laws of the universe, all that you are, is an accumulation of specific energy patterns that build the atoms that build the molecules that build the cells that build the organs that builds the person, who lives in a world governed by laws that he is trying his best to conquer.
Thats my idea anyway. Speculation is my greatest God. and by god I am trying to think of the best word to describe Blessing and Curse in one, but am too tired to think straight and am happily rambling. I should go back to listening to people die in Saw and go to sleep.....
