spaceJazzy was pouting at her pathetic attempt to hit the older Beater when the girl shot her own bludger back at her. She tried to dodge it, but wasn't fast enough, and it managed to slam into her leg. The second year bit hard into her cheek to keep from screaming at how much it hurt, not wanting to look like a wimp on top of sucking. She could taste blood in her mouth, and actually, the pain in her cheek sort of made the leg hurt less, so she supposed that was fortunate. Okay, obviously she was shooting too high, so to speak. Chase was way older than her, way more experienced. She needed to play smarter, not get cocky. That in mind, she took off after the bludger and aimed it towards Layton, hoping she'd have more luck with him, and hopefully give Dani an edge in the hunt for the snitch.

Layton cursed as he noticed a bludger coming his way, his attempt to dodge it coming too late and being hit full force with it. He bit back the pain and pushed forward, the snitch now close enough for him to reach out towards it. He outstretched an arm, concentrating fully on closing his hand around the little golden ball, even with the throbbing pain.
