I hope everyone here who is sick gets better soon. Thankfully no one here is sick at the moment.

Our new ceiling fan came in yesterday so we will be installing that in the living room come Monday. The upstairs of our house literally roasts during the summer.

Ceiling fans make a huge difference 3nodding

I'm feeling mostly better. At least with colds I can function pretty normally. Not like the flu where it just wipes me out.

So I am getting a new phone tomorrow.. Will be replacing my Samsung Rogue. With that said. I was gonna get a iphone.. but when I learned if I have any issues with it, I will have to goto the Apple store and not Verizon... that deal was done, Not gonna do it. So I am gonna get the phone I want most and can still video chat with my iphone friends... I am getting the new! Samsung Charge. It is the best phone out on the market atm!

I hate the 30$ xtra charge for any smart phone, since it makes you have it. But it sure will be nice if I do get this Samsung Charge.. I am a huge samsung fan. Never had bad luck with them smile

lol I LOVE tea razz And coffee too - but coffee never sounds good to me when I'm sick. I know I'm feeling better when I want that cup of coffee.

@Soul - We have cell phones but never the fancy kind. Just the ones that you can use to make calls with. lol Of course my hubby also has an iTouch, and iPod, and an iPad. I steal the iPad when we're traveling so I can watch Netflix movies when nothing else is going on. 4laugh

I've been playing around with few of the most common smart phones (samsung, htc, iphone, N8 etc.) because of my job and I got to admit that I wouldn't buy one as my own. They are nice gadgets but the battery time and other features are just not for me. I'm required to be so much "online" during my work days that I'm glad that with my phone I can make calls, send text messages and listen to music. Plus my neurotic side can't stand the greasy stains in the phones because of all the poking you need to do with your fingers. xp

Even though in theory they promise long talking times with the phones, unfortunately in reality all the different features in the phone take up a lot of the charge. By experience I can say that for example Samsung Galaxy S battery lasts barely one day if you use internet, email and few apps like facebook during the day addition to making few phone calls.

Of course if you shut down most of the programs (because in samsung they are constantly running in the background even though you are not using them) you can save some energy, but I suggest you carry your phone charger with you all the time. whee

I'm not saying smart phones like Samsung aren't good devices, it's just they seem to promise more they can really offer. Luckily the battery industry is again trying to improve their products because these new phones need massive amounts of energy to run all the pretty stuff in them.

It's taken us a long time to even get the "dumb" phones. We finally got to the point where we each really need at least the basic phone and I want to get rid of our land line. I like the ones with all the bells and whistles but I just can't justify the cost right now. We have other things we want to spend the extra $$ on. wink
