Van Evok Caleidah You know why it worked in WWII? Because there was a ******** huge EVIL ******** driving it along. It was a war not of helping a group of people to get on their feet and out from under all of the bullshit despot regimes that they've been under, but of taking out the bad guy. Also, coming out of the depression, a promise of a paycheck meant that a lot of guys saw the military as easy money. Not so necessary anymore. More people died in 9/11 than in Pearl Harbor, and this time mostly civilians.... if that is not enough to mobilise fully for war, then what is? And if economy goes along the current trends, people will queue for stable income of military pay. They saw a massive influx from it but essentially they got everything they wanted from that. Mission accomplished, people don't give a damn about it anymore.

So what's the weather like around elsewhere? Right now it's 100+ (40+) and muggy where I'm at. I was working in the backyard the last couple days, but no chance of that in this heat today.

It was 73.4ish around here today, with some rain, no real weather to go outside a lot.

Baltic coast: quite cool, along 15 deg Celsius, and raining like Noah was just visited by guests with blueprints for a really big wooden chest...

I say chaps (and the female equivalent) I've had about half a bottle of Port to myself! I must confess I am a little squiffy. Either way, I highly recommend Cockburns "Acclaimed" Port. It's terribly smooth and well...I've had half a bottle before I realized. sweatdrop

Maybe you will get to sample some of the "Wonderful" weather we've been having. It has been over 100 degrees (over 38 degrees C) for almost a month now. A few days ago it was 117 degrees at my work.
