Shizuka quickly countered with a hard elbow to Jeanne's spine.
"She only protects her friends from the likes of people like you!" Amaya snarled.

"How dare you lay a finger on Jeanne-sama!" Marco snarled, hitting Shizuka brutally over the head with the butt of his gun. "She's the Holy Maiden... you must have a death wish!"
Meanwhile, Luchist placed one hand on Netsubo's forehead and the other on the bible he carried. He chanted softly, a Gregorian chant emerging.

Either way, it's a win-win for me. If I succeed, my friends will be safe. If I die trying, well, I'll be with Kaachan again...
Any sign of those thoughts was inapparent in her actions as her attention shifted to the one who was attempting to hurt her friend. Her hands found the tonfas on the ground between her and Netsubo, and she activated oversoul.

Shizuka looked down at him for a long second, shook her head, and freed her ankle from his grasp. There was nothing to stop her from warding off these hypocrites, even if it meant she was to die. Speeding up, the shaman prepared to defend Netsubo.

Marco seized Shizuka from behind, holding his gun to her jaw. "Don't interfere, or Luchist could make a mistake and accidentally kill your friend!"
"You know nothing of heaven or hell, Luchist," Faust said quietly.

Shizuka bit the hand that held the gun against her, hoping that it would make him let go of his weapon. It was only a 50/50 chance that she'd make it, but she had no other choice.

Marco screamed and fired the gun. It almost took off Shizuka's ear, but fortunately it just missed. Faust took the opportunity to hurl a stone at Luchist's head, and the preacher-gone-wrong momentarily lost his hold on Netsubo's mind.
