Anyway, back to my point. I understand your situation, but we're beginning to reach a point where even characters who naturally command a powerful art are being seen as powerplayers, myself included--

Anyways, people are beginning to develop a better sense of literacy here, and that affects our own mindsets to the point that other characters who were here earlier and thus have more power are seen as overpowered. So, no matter how underpowered you've made your character, you have to see the situation.

Damn, I'm talking in circles. Point is, I got your message, you got mine. We're happy. =D

Well just because literacy has improved doesn't mean the more experenced caracters should restrict themselves. Elana's only restriction is lack of practice, other than that she's completly capable of what she always has. There are restrictions in place, for example, Elana has shown no talent in magic, even if she had more than just a passing intrest. once someone's dead Elana can't bring them back to life without altering the timeline, her abillitie's affectiveness dulls over time if not used.... and even at her level of expertise, if she overdoes things (in combat mostly) Elana can run the risk of killing herself from overload.

Elana is advanced at what she does and she likes to take advantage of her abillities to speed things up, get the upper hand or even cheat death at times but there are limits to what she can do, all of them comming before what is considered godmodding. I have a set standard for her and outside views arn't going to make me change that willingly, nor should I need to.

I don't think anyone who's considered "overpowered" by the inexperenced should need to change without sufficiant and reasonable cause. Those who are inexperenced will eventualy be seen as overpowered by those that follow, why? because as things progress people tend to become more skilled. Elana may not be learning new abillities anymore but how she uses them and how skilled she is at it will continue to rise when she works at it until she is nolonger capable of reaching a higher proficiancy.

One good in RP example of the inexperenced seeing as someone with plenty of experence as overpowered. Te'vair is Elana's student and has still only learned a fraction of what Elana has gained the abillity to do over the years. that could lead to the student thinking of the mentor as overpowered where as one day the two may very well be even with eachother.

Anyway all this comes down to, as long as godmodding and the like arn't an issue I see no reason to tone down the skill of the more experenced to suit those who are still learning so to speak. I know that if Elana got really careless, someone who's a first day on the job assassin could get her because of being off guard. Skill only goes so far, how you use it is the big question (and using it properly)
