The alarm kalxons in the city went off, as military garrisons in the city sprang to life. Armed soldiers began ushering everyone inside thier homes, as the ground began to hum dully as any and all supers in the city or in the AA base found themselves unable to use any of thier powers. Armed personelle and military vehicles took up postions at every intersection, and began to fortify it.
On the city's moniters and loudspeakers, an elderly man began to speak.
"Citzens of Krovh. I am Malador Locke, and I have taken it upon myself to pick up the riens that President Bolton had so callously dropped when allowing the Angel and his miscreants into our city. While they were out playing hero for others, they deserted this city and it's people, and so have forsaken thier right to lead. When they arrive from Pheonix, they will find no harbor here, and I encourage each and every one of you to remain inside your homes, where you will be safe while this important turn of events occurs. Thank you for understanding."

Merlin was in his study, Aaron chasing a small drake, when he heard the klaxon through a mirror that showed him Krohv. The announcement sounded, and the mirror cut out unexpectedly.
"Aaron, stop bothering the animal and come here."

Aaron chased the critter a few more seconds before finally walking over to merlin. He couldn't obey right away after all, that would be a ridiculous thought. He glanced up at the old wizard curiously. "Yeah?"

Merlin picked up his staff, sighed, and then picked up the mandatory handgun he was given when he joined. He never thought he would have a use for it, but still.

Aaron's first reaction would have been to yell out "no!" but at the sight of the gun he raised an eyebrow and sat down. If Merlin had to use a gun, something was definitly wrong.

((I've informed him of this before, but it changes nothing. It's along the lines of "Ich bein nein" translated, it makes no sense. It doesn't make much sense when it's read in German, but that makes no difference.))
Merlin nodded his head, walking over to the door. This room was not actually part of the base, and thus was unaffected, but he had a short amount of time before the portal contained in the door was cut off by the grid, which would prevent him from accessing his room until he could shut off the grid. Merlin opened the door, though it moved slowly.
He quickly moved through, glancing about, and set out in the base. He wasn't sure where the Grid would be located, but he supposed he'd figure it out.

Everything of importance of of a dangerous nature was locked away, out of Aaron's ability to reach or access. There were a few stray, mostly harmless items strewn about: a stone knot, a large cauldron, books, and the like.
