Allisaria moves slowly down the path, near the tower, her long, full tail fanned out. Her wings were closed, and she was looking around, a slight smirk on her attractive face.
Nolen was walking along, a strut in his stride, with a dance in his heart and a tune in his head. Yep, he was in a gaze as always! This lion was a hard one to keep the attention of. He just noticed on the same trail he was taking a little further up, there was a pretty bird-like anthro ahead. Blinking, he strutted right up to talk beside her. "Walking alone out here? You're a brave girl, aren't ya?" He smirked, a cocky expression on his face but his eyes glinted with kindness.
Allisiara arches a brow at him, her head tossing back "Brave? I suppose. Few would mess with me, if they were wise." She arches a brow, and stans, in a slightly provocative fashion, studying the lion. "You're a brave fellow, addressing a lady like me so."
Nolen laughed, his tail flicking. "Well, I must say I haven't seen an anthro like you before so I figured you could use some company in your travels." He stopped at this to look at her curiously. "Where are you heading anyway?" He knew nothing of the area and seemed to really not care much either to know.
She shrugs a little, and smiles. "Nowwhere, anywhere. Just taking a walk on this nice night." She tosses her head a little, her long hair flipping back off her face.
"Not scared of the dark huh?" He smirked but Nolen was a simple kid taking notice of her features. However, he was trying very hard to play everything off. "Well then, mind if I come with you for your night-time stroll?" He hardly was scared of the dark but he wanted to be around this female longer and know her better. After all, this girl was the first anthro he had seen in a long time since his escape.
She snickers. "Me? Scared of the dark? Rather, it should be scared of me." She ponders for a moment, then nods. "Sure, why not?" Her tail flared open a little, then closed again, and she nods in the direction she was heading.
Nolen only moved after she had moved. He ha a gentlemanly nature in letting the woman lead but really he wanted to look closer at her feathers. "Really? Why should the dark be scared of you?" He smiled in amusement. She looked too cute to be anything dangerous. Then again, Nolen was a slow one to pick up on anything being abnormal.
She glances back at him, and then focuses a little. Small flames traced along her wings, tail, and the very tips of her horns. "Fire is the killer of darkness, of course." Said the demon phoenix.
Blinking, Nolen stared at the fire at the tips of her horns and tail and wings. "Ooohh pretty." He then coughed, trying to cover that up before he started moving forward to walk beside her. "I'm Nolen. What may I call you, Miss?"
She grins a little at his comment, and lets the fires die down, before she responds. "Call me Allisiara, Nolan. It's nice to meet you." She settles her wings more comfortably.
"Allisiara.. Nice name. Are you new around here?" The golden lion tried to keep his eyes forward but he slid glances at her from the corners of his eyes. The fires dying away definately caught his attention because it showed him exactly how much control she had. So this was no damsel in distress that's for sure.
She makes a so-so motion with her hands, and shrugs. "Been here a while, but haven't explored a great deal." She was watching the path, eyes flickering side to side, occasionally glancing at him.
"I see. I'm kinda the same way. I left my hometown to spend some quality time on my own and ended up on the outskirts of this place. Haven't really seen much of it though either. What about you?" His hands slid into his pants pockets. "Judging from your clothes, you must have come from an interesting place."
She nods a little, and looks at him. "Ohhhh you could say that..." She was clearly reticent about her past. "I just decided I needed to go for a walk, it's such a nice night."
Nolen smiled at her actually turning a real stare over to her. "I like the night over the day myself. Its much more calm. Though there is fun to be had in the daylight now and then." His tail flicked with the playful thoughts in mind before he looked at her wings. "You fly?"
She nods a little, listening, then arches a brow. "Yes, I do, my wings aren't decorative." Her tail flickers. "I prefer the night, as well. Stars and the moon... Cooler... Less idiots about."
"I've known some anthros who've never flown with their wings." Nolen laughed at her comment about the idiots and walked with a dance in his step. "I don't know about that now. I know plenty of idiots who roam the night. Luckily I don't think I've found one here yet. Then again I only came a few days ago."
She blinks a little. "Mmm I meet less at night, thank goodness... And why on earth would one not fly when one has wings? It's a waste of the gifts nature gave you."
The bounce in his step stopped and instead, he strutted as he walked, but a rather sober look came over his face. Green eyes stared ahead. "In some places, those with wings cannot fly in risk of having them ripped off. That is why, to me, to know you use yours is unique." He smiled to her. His tail swayed as he seemed completely unbothered about it.
Her eyes went black at those words. "Wings are meant for flight. Those who endanger that flight deserve to die." The flames appear again, but they seem different, deadlier now, as if before they'd been a pet, and now were the guardian bull dog.
Nolen blinked and smiled kindly to her. He stopped and placed a kind hand on her shoulder. "You can see why I left my hometown. Some places are just stricter then others. Its okay though." Removing his hand, Nolen smiled warmly to her with reassurance.
She looked at him, surprised he'd risk touching her when she was generating that much flame, and there for heat. "Mmm it's not ok to mutilate some one for any reason."
Nolen seemed fearless or maybe he was simply so nonchalant about his own safety as he took a step closer to her. Warm. It made his tail wave in joy behind him at the warmth. "No it isn't but that is how that place is run now. There are escape routes for any anthro who is desperate to leave so I see it more like that is their choice to live like that."
She pauses, considering that, then finally says "Not entirely true... some... become blinded, and can't see the escape, or are so scared and beaten down they can't risk it..."
Nolen took a step closer, green eyes staring at her. "Would you save them?" His voice was even, with no sarcasm just a simple even tone. "Would you rescue them from that place and teach them how to live without that life?" In such instances, he seemed so much older then he ever was.
She looked at him. "If I had the power, I would. I may be half demon, but I believe freedom is first, and foremost." Her fire flared up more, her tail becoming covered in gold and red flame.
"Half Demon and you still hold such values of life?" Nolen smiled. "That is very honorable." He reached out his hand to her. "If it bothers you so much, I could take you to my homeland for you to see how it is. Otherwise, put your mind to ease, Allisiara and know that those still there remain for their choice, blind or not. The choice still remains theirs. I chose to leave and here I am, talking with you. And I must say I prefer your face to those back there." He smiled.
She closes her eyes, her tail feathers flickering, trying not to give in to the desire to just burst into flames, and find this city the hard way. "I do not know... and as a demon blood, we value rights more then you can imagine." Her eyes open. "Nothing is less constricting then to be born in a race like that."
Nolen smiled to her, his hand falling away and he stepped just close enough to kiss her cheek and he chuckled a little. "You're cute." The lion then quickly started to walk again as to not be killed. He spoke sincerely. "I do not know what it is to be born with demon blood but I do know what it is to be born in that life and I have the marks to prove it. It may sound like a terrible place but it was, at one point, my home. So I give it that respect alone." He clasped both hands behind his head as he walked.
She tries to control her flames still, breathing slowly, then says "I can't abide cages, and that place sounds like a cage for all...." She lowers her head for a moment, as she walks. The 'cute' comment hadn't fully processed, in her dealing with her rage.
"I guess to one who has always had her freedom, it would sound terrible. But really, that is just life sometimes. I accepted that when I lived there and I accept that its that way there now. I just wanted something different for myself so that's why I'm here." His tail swayed. "I'm kinda grateful I got to come out and walk with you. It shows me things are very different around here. Even the anthros around here are more open-minded then back there. Are most anthros where you live?"
She stops, and ponders. "Where I live now, mostly yes. Where I was from... was just me and my parents." She again clams up on her past, her hair falling in her face, her eyes going dark again.
Nolen made sure to return by her side and he tried to carefully pull her hair away from her eyes. "Sounds like your current home must be nice." The lion returned his hand back to his side as both arms merely came back to his sides. "So far, everything about this place seems really peaceful. Almost kind of boring now and then. What do you think of it?"
Allisaria was silent for a long moment, then looked up at him again. "I like the peace. It... it's nice. We have times of unrest, and the peace is a break between those times....
"Really? Honestly, you're the first anthro I've met of this land so I really don't know how to judge anyone here. Really can't til I meet everyone could I?" He shrugged at the thought. "Peace is nice but play can be fun too. I think that is the only thing that really brings me down around here. Being such a recluse as I've been lately really doesn't get much done for me." Nolen glanced over to her with a smile. His voice was gentle. "Feeling better?"
"I like play, but that's a little different... For me, peace is the pleasent times..." She sighs a little. "Yes, I suppose I am." She smiles slightly, and pulls her hair back, all the way.
"Yup, much cuter with a smile." A random comment as Nolen looked on ahead. "So your peace and play kind of work hand-in-hand? Sounds like it can be fun. I take it you've had some rough times if peace is so highly valued to you. Can't blame ya though if it includes play." He winked before he started to rub his hands together. The cold was not friendly to his hands. It was the only real place he felt it too. However, he acted as if it was nothing. "Is red your favorite color?" He noticed she a lot of reddish features.
She nods a little at the first part, not wanting to delve to much into it, and then says "Well it matches me, don't you think?"
"I think so but then again, I'm not good at matching much when it comes to colors. My mother told me to wear green and black and thats what I do because I really don't care how I look." That was obviously from his wild golden locks. "The cold doesn't bother you much does it?" He looked at her curiously. He already figured she was part demon but really didn't understand the fire or the feather part of it.
She blinks and laughs a little, watching him. She then throws her head back. "No, not at all. My mother was Phoenix, heat's in my very blood." She tilts her head at him.
Nolen smiled. "So part phoenix part demon. Yep, you are the first of your kind I've ever met." He glanced over at her. "From your current home, do you get a nice view of the sky like this?" He lifted up his hand to outstretch to the stars above.
She smiles. "Oh yes. The person who's house it is gave me a tower room, with a balcony. At night, I can go out there and stargaze all I like. On hot nights, I bring out a sleeping bag and pillows, and make a 'nest' of sorts, to sleep under the stars."
"That sounds really nice. What would you do though if it rained?" Nolen looked at her curiously. He was happy to see her smiling for a change of pace. Seeing her so upset and angry... it wasn't so much scary as much as it was troublesome to him because he didn't like women to be so upset.
She blinks a little at that. "On those nights, it never rains. It's not humid, were we are..." She shrugs. "So I don't worry about rain when it's warm enough to do that."
"Thats good that your home is in a nice climate so you don't have to worry about it much. But of course I would imagine that you do have a bed when you sleep inside." The lion anthro then looked up at the sky. "Speaking of which it is getting late.." And his hands were practically freezing. He smiled warmly to her. "It was nice to get a chance to meet you, Allisiara. I have to be getting back now. Will you be alright walking back yourself? I could escort you home if you want?" He couldn't release his gentlemen ways.
"Of course I have a bed, for I wouldn't sleep outside in the winter..." She pauses, and says "Let's head into the tower... Home is... through there." She didn't feel capable of explaining how home worked.
"Gotcha." And Nolen didn't ask. He didn't see a need to plague the demon phoenix with questions. However, there was a small problem. He would have to let her lead the way since he had no idea where this tower was. Honestly, it was the furthest he had traveled from his home but he didn't mind. To keep his hands a little warmer, he tried to stuff them away in his pockets again. "I am not one for the winter personally. It may be quiet, but I don't like the snow."
She nods, and offers him her arm, figuring if nothing else, she could lead him to the tower, if he didn't know it. "Shall we? And I enjoy it but then... I can wear a bikini in the snow and be warm."
Nolen smirked, inside chuckling at the irony as he took her arm but was careful as to hide his frigid cold hand away from her skin. The lion did not want to trouble her with cold. Nolen laughed at the idea of the swimwear in the snow. "I bet you would startle a lot of anthros who didn't know you."
She shrugs, and hooks her arm happily with his, letting her heat go up a notch or two, to share it. "Probably. And it would amuse me greatly."
Nolen himself didn't notice but he walked a little closer to her with her heat radiating from her. His tail was swaying with how warm he was feeling. He smiled to her brightly at the idea of her being amused. "I don't think I mind much else about the winter though. I do like spring. Is there one you like over the other seasons most?"
"Ohhh I don't know. Not fall, too rainy, really." She shrugs a little, leading him gently towards the tower, which now looms visibally ahead of them.
Nolen was simple and easy to follow her lead. He was not one of those men who felt less masculine by getting led by a woman. Especially a girl who was giving off warmth. The tower ahead made his eyes grow wide. "Wow that's an odd looking place. I take it theres more than meets the eye in there?" That had to be the case since thats how they were getting her home right?
Allisiara blinks, and laughs. "It's the Tower. And yes, it rather has more. It's owned by a mage." She smiles slowly. "As is my home."
"A mage huh. Can't say I ever remember meeting one of them before. Kinda interesting. What's the mage that you live with like?" Nolen never imagined going to a tower that was owned by a mage so he couldn't begin to wrap his mind around living in a place a mage owned.
She shrugs, and ponders that. "She's... odd." She ponders more. "Velvet glove, steel hand, sort... Generally nice, but can be hard as she needs to be..."
Nolen gave a nod. "Well if this world is as free as it seems like it is, sounds like that might be necessary." The lion made no harsh judgements about anyone who's lifestyle that he didn't understand. "Ever get lost in that place?" He smirked at her playfully.
She nods, and shrugs. "Oh yes. It's not hard... I keep finding new rooms, and it's confusing sometimes..."
"I can imagine. That place is the biggest building I think I've ever seen." And the building just kept getting bigger and stranger the closer they got. However, when they reached the door, he held it open for the pheonix woman.
She nods, and laughs slightly. "Indeed..." She steps in, and waits for him to follow her inside. "But it's nice."
Nolen of course came up right after her to follow her inside. Once inside, his eyes grew wide as he took the place in. "You would need a map to know the ins and outs of this place! ITS HUGE IN HERE!" It was one of the few times he raised his voice but he couldn't contain his excitement. His tail was flicking, as the desire to explore rose up inside of him. However, he remembered he had to escort Allisiara back and so he returned to her side. "I'm surprised you ever get back home!"
She laughs a little, and says "I can recall the path to home, over and over." She smiles and leads him towards the hall that ends with her door way to home.
Nolen was so busy looking around and taking in the scenery he didn't even know how to get back even if he wanted to now. The door before them got his attention and it just started to hit him that he didn't understand how this would take her home. However, he was not a lion to question. He just rolled with the punches. "Photographic memory?" He questioned. He didn't see how she could. Amazing memory skills?
She giggles a little. "No, just been this way enough... They made me memorize it. So I didn't end up sleeping in a hall or something." She smiles, and opens it, and what is seen on the other side is clearly a rather different place.
Nolen blinked a few times and stared in closely to make sure he was seeing things right. This place was a maze with apparently completely different interiors. "This is your home?" He asked, slightly in awe. Mages were extremely amazing and confusing building designers.
She laughs, and says "It's not part of the Tower. The door is a magical thingamerbob, and it leads to my home." She pats his arm.
Nolen laughed and shook his head. "Magic; just something I will never quite understand, and I accept that completely." He smiled warmly to her. "Your home is very nice and apparently well guarded since I don't see how anyone could even begin to find it beyond those who live here."
She smiles and laughs. "There are other doors, closer to where we live. This just bridges the gap between the many miles." She smiles at him.
Nolen shook his head, already having his mind boggled enough for one night. "Magic." He chuckled. "Anything it can't do?" he then looked at her and slipped his arm free. "I guess this is where we part our ways." In a manner that was unknown to him but quite like his father, Nolen took Allisiara's hand and kissed the back of it. "Thank you for allowing me to walk with you this evening. It was fun." He then released her hand of course.
Allisiara smiles and gives a slight curtsey to him. "It was a pleasure, Mr. Nolen. I do hope to see you again." She gently takes her hand back, and waves good bye, before whirling into the house and shutting the door gently behind her, smiling at him as she does.
Nolen smirked and waved back as she shut the door. He then turned around and grimaced a little. How did he get out of here again? Worst came to worst he was camping here for the night and sleeping somewhere. The lion slowly began his dangerous journey into the mysterious tower.
