There was loud banding on the front door of Malik's apartment, where an angry and drunk Bakura was pounding away at it. "Hey!" He shouted, quite loudly, "Malik! Where'd you put Ryou?!"

Millennium Ring There was loud banding on the front door of Malik's apartment, where an angry and drunk Bakura was pounding away at it. "Hey!" He shouted, quite loudly, "Malik! Where'd you put Ryou?!" Malik answered quickly, "Ryou wasn't there!" he shouted out the window to him.

Millennium Ring Bakura blinked in confusion, rubbing his bloodshot eyes. "So where is he?" He snarled, rubbing a hand through his hair. "How the hell am I supposed to know?!" he shouted at him.

"You just should!" Bakura roared, throwing his hands into the air. He grumbled something under his breath as he started to stumble away, idiotically trying to reach Ryou with his mind again to find his hikari's location and running into the mind-splitting pain again. He collasped onto the ground again, leaning against a wall and then breaking away.
His mind cleared a little by the pain, Bakura was able to sort a few things out. Either Ryou had woken up and tried to get away but only ran into something that was causing all of this pain, or someone had taken Ryou and was causing this pain. Those were the only things Bakura could actually think of right then, panting against the wall.

Bakura struggled to his feet, deciding that he wouldn't be able to reach Ryou that way, absolutly not. But now he had no clue where to go. If somebody did have Ryou, he wouldn't know where to look.
Which brought up another question in Bakura's mind. If somebody did have Ryou, why was that? Why would anybody want him? The only thing Bakura could come up with was they were after his Millennium Ring and were either using Ryou for blackmail or grabbed the wrong person.
Walking down the sidewalk now, Bakura had to close his eyes against the strong wind that whipped around him. He opened barely, struggling to see through the watering slits. He didn't see the dark shape until too late as he bumped roughly into somebody standing in the middle of the sidewalk.
Khalid took a step towards the fallen figure of the dispised tomb robber, his arms flailing wildly as he swore loudly. He wrinkled his nose at the smell of alcohol on him, and knew at once that he was drunk.
"Get up, you piece of filth." Khalid spat, glaring at Bakura, showing the first signs of anger he had in a long time. Bakura, still grumbling, complied. "Your hikari is--"
Khalid didn't get to finish whatever he was going to say, though. Bakura seized the Egyptain by the collar of his shirt and slammed him against the nearest building, suddenly sober.
"What the hell did you do?" Bakura snarled, his firey gaze boring into the boy's empty ones. He hated the emotionless look he was getting from this boy. It was just blank.

Khalid glanced over at the other Egyptain boy, and lowered his voice when he next spoke. he wasn't too sure why he did that, because he didn't have a problem with anybody hearing.
"Indeed, as you may have guessed, your hikari has been taken." Khalid said in a low, accented voice, "And I have, of course, taken Ryou."
Bakura started to pull back his hand as though he were going to hit the boy, but changed his mind. Couldn't find out where Ryou was if this boy was unconscious.
"Well...?" Bakura asked, drawing out the word. "What is it that you want? Nobody just takes what's mine without a price either they want or are going to pay. Shall I send your mind to the Shadow Realm if you don't?"
Khalid actually laughed at that. "Such pathetic threats, Tomb Robber!" He said more loudly, shaking his head as Bakura scowled and released his grip on Khalid's collar. "You think I would not be able to escape from that place as you always have?"
He calmed himself back into his emotionless state after a moment. "I do not want anything from you. I only wish for you to feel pain. Not pysical pain, either. I doubt you've ever noticed how much your modern life relies on Ryou. Not in any sense that you won't be able to continue to live on in this body, but meaning that you have nothing to do, nowhere to go. After a few weeks-- or even days-- without the boy you will start to feel the pain of being alone."
Bakura took a step backwards, studying the Egyptain carefully. "Who are you?" He asked slowly, narrowing his eyes. This was insane. Bakura knew that what the boy said was true about not being able to really go on without his hikari so he could do things.
Khalid flashed Bakura a mysterious grin for a second, then cleared his throat carefully. "Who I am is no concern of yours." He said slyly, then turned and started to walk away from a dumbfounded Bakura.

When the boy was out of sight Bakura turned back to Malik, his head tilted to the side. "Do you know who that guy was?" He demanded, knowing that Malik probably didn't. He shook his head dismissivly, starting to pace on the sidewalk, muttering curses under his breath.
"Dammit... Now I'll either have to go after him to try and find Ryou or get somebody--" Bakura cut himself off as he looked up and studied Malik. "Hmm... That guy knows what he's doing, that's for sure." He stared at Malik as though he had never seen him before. "So, you, come with me to get Ryou back?"

That guy knows what he's doing, that's for sure." He stared at Malik as though he had never seen him before. "So, you, come with me to get Ryou back?" "Well-- I feel like I've seen him in Egypt before, but other than that, I have no clue who he is." Malik told Bakura, "Sure, I want to make sure Ryou's alright." Malik said. Marik stepped beside Malik, "That boy seemed to have knowlege of the Millenium Items, didn't you think it odd that he called you 'Tomb Robber'?" Marik asked.

I almost suspected Shadi had said something, but that man isn't one to be talking like that..." Bakura was muttering this stuff, trying to sort things out in his mind. "He didn't have a Millennium Item from what I could tell..."
