Kaiden blinked in confusion for a second. What? What could she have to tell me? Surely there's nothing that- oh...my...gods... His eyes grew wide as he looked down at Dawn. No...no, she wouldn't...she couldn't...be in love with him. But that seemed the most logical thing to him. What else was there? He was about to speak again when he heard a knock on the door, and then it quickly opening.
"What am I needed for?" Severus asked as he swept into the room, robes billowing behind him. Taking one look at the girl, his brows furrowed in concern. She looked awful. "What has happened to her?" he asked softly, swooping towards her and nudging past Kaiden in the process. He touched the woman's head before lightly taking her wrist and feeling her pulse.
Catriona smiled softly again. "I never could do anything like that. Besides moving the stars in the sky, my powers are rather limited." She moved the staff from her shoulder and looked at it. "I can make little bits of energy here and there, but not enough to form a whole animal, like Draco and Niara can."

Rio grinned. "I guess is just varies.." he said. He twisted a strand of dark energy in his fingers before letting it blow away in the soft wind. It landed a few feet away and morphed into a shadow panther with glowing blue eyes. The beast padded toward Cat and rubbed against her legs.

Dawn felt cool fingers on her wrist, her pulse was almost nonexistant. She coughed again. Her dull skin becoming paler and duller still. The cool cloth was now warm due to her continuing fever. She let out an even weaker moan before coughing again. "He needs to be told..." She groaned though it sounded like a whisper.

Catriona watched curiously as Rio twisted the strand of energy, blinking when he released it. When it became a panther, however, her eyes lit up happily. "You're so talented...reminds me of my niece. She can do things with a flame that you wouldn't believe." She knelt down and ran a hand over the cold dark energy of the panther's head, though was rather surprised when it began to dispel around her fingers. She moved her hand away quickly, looking at her fingers before she glanced back down at the now one-eared panther. A sheepish smile crossed her lips as she looked back up at Rio. "Eh...guess I should be more careful with that. I keep forgetting that you're an Oblivion."
The heat that Severus felt on the woman's wrist made his heart skip a beat. While he had a bit of experience with diagnosing ailments, he was most certainly not a doctor. Horrible fever, weak pulse... He reached into the pocket of his robes and pulled out a small test tube of a crimson liquid. "Is she your mate?" Severus asked, rather curious as to why Kaiden was reluctant to leave. He reached over and gently lifted the woman's head with his free hand and tugged the cork out of the test tube with his teeth. He held the test tube to the woman's lips, waiting to see if she would open her mouth and drink it on her own.
Kaiden's own heart skipped a beat at Severus's question. He gulped once, not noticing how rigid he was with worry. "Not exactly..." he trailed off. He saw Severus's eyebrow lift, though he did nothing more to register his words. Biting his bottom lip, Kaiden looked over his shoulder at the door. Gods, where is Kenjin?!

Rio fixed the panther and grinned. "yeah.. oblivion magic's pretty vulnerable to celestial." he said. "But mabey if used in unision.."

Dawn's mouth opened slightly, enough to take the potion. Once the potion was down, her face twisted gently due to the bitterness. She coughed more. "He has to know......." Her she said barely audible.

Catriona thought about what Rio said for a moment before she pointed her staff towards him. "You mean, us using them at the same time? We could give it a try." She grinned at him, her free hand brushing a bit of hair away from her face before adjusting the tiara that threatened to fall as she did so.
Severus lifted the test tube to his own lips and nudged the cork back in before pocketing it. "That should make her fever go down in the next few minutes...it should make her feel better, make her feel stronger." He rose to his feet and took a few steps back. He looked at Kaiden, his brow still lifted. "Who is this 'he' that she continues to speak of?"
Kaiden gulped, an action that he was quite familiar with now, before looking at Dawn. "...Me." Without waiting for a response from Severus, though he doubted he would get one anyway, he walked towards Dawn and knelt beside her bed much as the shadow drake had done before. "What does he have to know?" he asked softly, forcing himself to take her hand gently.

"one..." he charged up a ball of oblivion energy.
"Two..."
"Three!" he prepared to launch it as soon as Cat fired.

The potion seemed to be taking some affect but she still looked pale and dim. "He has to know about the baby..." She whispered in her sleep. "I'm pregnate......"

Catriona nodded to Rio. On his count of one, tiny star-shaped particles began to collect at the tip of her staff. They continued to grow as she concentrated, going so far as to close her eyes. For once, she had to make more energy...she just had to. As soon as he said three, she shot the energy towards him, her staff flying back a little as when one shoots a gun. She opened her eyes to see what happened.
Kaiden's heart plummeted as soon as she whispered those words. "...Oh Gods..." he whispered, releasing her hand and falling back onto his bum. No...this couldn't be...he was going to be a father? His eyes seemed to grow cloudy, as if he was going into a trance. His mother and father would be grandparents...while he was extremely upset, the thought that he would be a father made his heart lift a little. It was something that he had always wanted...it was only a shame that it wasn't going to happen with the one that he loved.

"Oh, it's so cute!" Cat suddenly cooed, dropping to her knees to look at it a little closer, though she was obviously reluctant to touch it. She beamed brightly before she looked over her shoulder at the Shadowdome. Something was compelling her to return. She blinked before she looked down at her staff. "...Oh, Rio, I think it's time for my match." She gulped, standing to her feet and brushing off her silver outfit. She suddenly grew sheepish and kicked a little clump of dirt before she glanced up at Rio. "Will you walk me back? I think I'll feel safer that way."

Dawn's fever finally subsided, but instead of being stronger, she still remained weak. She opened her eyes half way. "He has to be told... my baby... soo weak..." she murmured still dillusional.

Now knowing that this woman was pregnant, Severus felt he knew what he needed to do. Two more test tubes came out of his pocket, one with a light green liquid inside and the other with a deep purple. He moved past Kaiden, once again offering the test tubes to the woman's lips after he had removed their corks. One was full of vitamins and the like, things that she would need to fight off the illness she had and strengthen her child at the same time. The other was a companion to the fever-reducing draught and would offer a few experimental things to try to make her stronger, though it never seemed to work the same with everyone.
Kaiden didn't speak or do anything more. He simply stood there staring at Dawn's stomach, imagining the child that it held inside. What would it look like? A boy or a girl? Who would- a pang shot through his heart. Who would take care of it? Obviously Dawn, but...he wanted to be there every step of the way. He began to form a plan in his mind.

Dawn took the first tube still not really coherient of everything, her skin seemed to gain back some of its bright and shimmer. But once she took the second vial, her skin became dull and pale again, as she tried not to choke on it. Once it was finally down she began to cough uncontrolably until she finally settled down again, this time there what looked to be blood on the corner of her mouth.
