Mavu Kira-Kyuuketsuki Hello, I'm Mavu, your section leader in this topic. I'm a sophomore at Great Bridge High School, which has a marching band (which I'm in) that I could brag about forever. This thread is primarily for meeting and conversing with other clarineters. ^^ Have fun! i've been playing clarinet...forever, well it seems that way. i'm a junior at Sehome High, and i've been at it since 4th grade! i played bass for a year- i'm kind of the filler clarinetest. i'm section leader, but if they need me for anything i fill in! i love the clarient! yay! heart

Hello my fellow clarineteers!
I've just been accepted into Wind Ensemble, and I'm very elated. Has anyone ever felt this feeling? (Still leader of 2nd part...)
The feeling when you are in a band that can actually play, are motivated, and mature?
PURE elation.
*bathes in that feeling....
*Cough
Unlike some schools, or at least the one I went to, I feel free.
Clarinet is fun. It's so versatile!!!

blackdragonwingz wicked_13 CLARINETS ROCK!!... but umm ya anyways... i love clarinet but if you think about it once you can pass over octives easy by useing the thumb key(i call it the tear drop- i dunno bout other ppl) clarinet is then the easyist instrument out of the basic instruments- jus my opinion- anybody else think so? I think flute is probably one of the easiest instruments, once you can actually get a sound out of it. My music teacher drew timelines with difficulty for all the instruments. Flute started off high, but then stayed the same. Clarinet starts off easy-ish, then gets hard for low notes and passing the break.

i'm attending my senior year at Mira Mesa High School and have been playing clarinet since the 5th grade. my junior year i blayed bass clarinet marching season and than bassoon concert season just cause we needed those voices (every band has plenty of clarinets) and tenor sax this fall season. i still played clarinet in our city honor band last year and will this year 'cause it i guess i'll always be a clarinetist. i'll play whatever my band needs, but honor band is where i play for myself.

Quote: unless we got into the discussion about some orchestras....guys have first chair there....never saw a girl clarinetist there gonk actually i did...but she was third chair? sweatdrop I dislike orchestras, the only time I was in an orchestra everyone was stuffy and obnoxious. I have never been in an orchestra...but I have had a first chair male clarinet player, and it was David Nava. DAVID?! DAVID WAS FIRST CHAIR AT A POINT IN HIS LIFE?! l_l who is David? gonk I've never been in a orchestra...are they really obnoxious? l_l; I just watch orchestras on T.V and jump around when I see the clarinet 3nodding

I can't sleep anymore ::twitch::. Anyways, congrats biggrin ! I think I've had that feeling... smile that's what caused me to pester my band director about playing final fantasy music xD this year I'll be a seventh grader... and the audition will be so close... gonk I'm suddenly reminded of why i half want to go back to school and half don't want to! Because I'll be in band...but then I dread having o audition...I don't even know if I play the scales first or not gonk
