The young boy had finally enrolled in the academy. He wasn't sure exactly what he was doing if he was being honest. He had no guidance to his knowledge, a lot of people had seemed to avoid him. He looked very young, in fact he was very young. Merely 8 years old to be exact, however his height practically screamed otherwise. Perhaps due to the lower half of his body being that of a rather large scaled beast. Something he had no control over and was made to dislike about himself in the first place. It made a lot of things somewhat difficult for him.
All this being said, what made everything even more difficult was he didn't know much. For the time being he knew he had ot learn the basics. The few techniques that every shinobi had to learn. Just about anyone who did combat stuff had to learn in fact. Off to the side, away from just about everyone else he would make efforts towards learning on his own. The first thing was Kai....he wasn't sure how to test himself as far as that went. He formed the hand seal that was depicted in the small scroll he had showing the basic jutsu. Focusing his chakra, he felt no different though...which he guessed made sense? He would have to trust himself...he wasn't sure he liked that idea much. The young boy simply blankly continued looking over the single scroll of basic jutsu he had.
Sugichi left his last refresher course of the day, and made his way to the classroom at the end of the same hall. He knew the instructor in that room kept a large mirror in the corner of the class, which he would need for his practice today. After checking to make sure the room was empty of students, he slid the door open the rest of the way and entered. The teen then carefully slid the mirror a few feet out from the corner and stood in front of it. He closed his eyes and pictured a coat rack. After a moment of silence, he made a hand seal and a puff of smoke exploded around him. When it settled, Sugichi has transformed into... a really crooked, lopsided coat rack... The boy released the jutsu, sighed, and tried it again. This time it was a little less crooked, but the arms were in weird, unbalanced places. A third attempt was much better, and each subsequent attempt was closer. Once he'd gotten the feel for it, he began picking other objects around the room to transform into, until he was able to picture an object and transform perfectly without hesitation. It'd taken him a couple of hours, but he'd gotten it down. "Man, I don't remember that one being so hard... [Learned Henge no Jutsu]
The teen took a break, wiping off the beads of sweat he'd worked up and grabbing a drink from the hall. Once he'd gotten some rest in, he got back to work. This time he stared at the mirror for a few moments before forming his hand signs, taking in his normal appearance this time. Once the chakra had been molded, the typical dust cloud formed and cleared, revealing a clone of Sugichi. The clone looked like Sugichi well enough, if he'd just run a marathon while on a sleep strike. It quickly fell over and poofed away as Sugichi shook his head at the pathetic copy. He gave a slight sigh, then began his repetition of the technique, over and over and over again. Once was short, one was fat, the next had green hair, another had one arm... The issues ran on for nearly an hour before Sugichi could manage a normal clone. It took another 15 minutes to get a second one, but after another 20 he was making them one after another. Now exhausted from his afternoon practice, Sugichi slide the mirror back into the corner, and took a seat on the floor beside it. "Maybe I could take a nap..." [Learned Bunshin no Jutsu]

Alishia didn't much feel like training, and she really didn't feel the need to. Why, then, was she here at the academy when she didn't need to be? "Oh great Zelel you are so cute! Adorable! Fluffy! You're perfect!" The reason for her visit to the academy was held in Alishia's arms as she walked in through the front doors, a small kitten cradled gently in her arms. She was, of course, completely unaware that all her shouting was making a scene. Not because she didn't care, but because she had truly somehow managed to tune out the world around her. Funnily enough. the kitten in her arms seemed unbothered by the high volume, actually purring contentedly. The feline seemed very happy to be doted on and gushed over by the girl who regularly brought it food.

Man, the old guard of the Arashigakure Police Department sure knew how to make a mess. The corruption that the village experienced at their hands left a sour taste in Shinji's mouth. He couldn't help but wonder if he would have been able to intervene in the early stages of their deceit if he had woken up sooner, but he refused to allow those thoughts to overtake him. Especially not today. There was work to be done! In the wake of the human trafficking incident, it was all hands on deck to help reintegrate the victims into the world, and a step further to help those who are already citizens in the village with problems that the new APD seem to ignore. The whole ordeal could be seen as little more than a public relations stunt to help stave off potential revolt towards Miyuki's regime. After all, her short tenure as Arashikage has seen a violent spiral already.
He carried with him a leaflet of papers and pictures corresponding to the student information those papers contained. When he approached the headmaster of the academy to borrow a few students for the day, he was given this stack of papers to help locate them. Why these particular students, Shinji wouldn't know, and far be it for him to question someone who outranks him. Though, if it came down to who could throw the most weight around, Shinji had him beat. However, doing that would mean he would have had to show up in a much different outfit, and that would cause a scene. This was easier. He entered the main room of the Academy and glanced around, looking for his quarries. As he spotted them, he would read their names off quietly to himself and point in their general direction.
"Alishia," the first he noticed was a girl carrying a kitten in her arms, gushing over its outward cuteness. Shinji didn't mind cats, but he knew that behind their adorable faces was a vicious flurry of claws and teeth. He flipped to the next picture in his pamphlet and looked about the room. Shinji spoke a bit louder, projecting his voice just enough that it could be heard in other classrooms, but not loud enough to appear threatening. "Sugichi seems to be elsewhere. I was assured he was here today. I'll have to go searching for him, I suppose." Next he would spot the Kappa, dropping his voice back down to the near whisper. "Zenmaru. That just leaves.... Wait, that can't be right," his silver eyes squinted at the picture, then to the paper it was attached to. "No, that definitely can't be right."
Shinji crossed the room and squatted in front of who was surely the most easily noticable of the students. Quiet or not, the young-looking student was outwardly the most unique inhabitant of their village. His half-animal body hinted at a potential kinship with the Kemono Shinzo, though he wouldn't make any conclusive inferences without at least getting to know the boy. Shinji offered a warm smile and tucked the papers and photos into his beige kimono. "Hey, I'm Shinji Ketsueki. Mind if I know your name, or what you prefer to be called?" With the exception of Sugichi, who was tucked away elsewhere in the academy, all of the students that Shinji was going to be taking away from the building today had been located, but before he actively gathered them he wanted to make sure that he could address them properly.
The young boy noticed what was going on around him obviously. However he was rather sure that he would just be looked over again. It wasn't like he wasn't use to it, he continued looking at his scroll. The man went through names and the young boy with a lizard body below his waist prepared himself. He was just about to practice something he looked at on his scroll. Sending chakra into the bottom of his four unique feet. However before he could test the technique he was suddenly approached and addressed. The boy jumped in a startled manner as he looked at the man. He seemed nice enough, his question however was a bit of a difficult one to explain. The boy's eyes sort of shifted to look down in what seemed to be a bit of a dejected manner. However was more like how he was taught, always look down when speaking to authority figures. "Hi, uh, Mr. Ketsueki. I, uh, I'm sorry sir. I don't have one of those. I use to be called Lizard Boy before I came here. That's what most people call out when they need me." The way he spoke showed he at least knew some form of manners. Although perhaps in a bit of a different way than what was taught normally. After he spoke he realized he still had the open beginners scroll in his hand. He quickly and hurriedly rolled the scroll up and would place it into a pouch that was part of the waist accessory that seemed to be just about the only thing he wore, for good reason considering the large horns likely made it hard for him to get a shirt that properly fit him, and even if he could find one the sharp scales along his arms and back would likely just serve to ruin the shirt in the first place. "Ah, uhm, am I suppose to be joining you?" He questioned the man, almost confused as if the thought of going along with others was a foreign concept.

Zenmaru wasn't sure what to expect as far as Alisha's reaction to his sudden appearance, but he certainly wasn't expecting to be called 'adorable'. She spoke of this 'Zelel" thing again, which the Kappa was starting to believe to be some weird way of speaking; apart of her 'language', so to speak. When the girls arms extended towards him in a very, very aggressive fashion, he shrieked. "Yagh!" Before her arms could wrap him in the intended embrace, Zenmaru fell to the ground and curled himself into a ball, essentially hiding underneath his shell of a back.
He remained there for some time, long enough for the girl to become occupied with something else. Peeking from beneath his scaly arms, Zenmaru could see that he was no longer the center of her attention. Surprisingly, the girl was rather gentle with the feline they carried in their arms, and the poor Kappa was beginning to regret having reacted the way he did. He hadn't been hugged since his master passed away. A sad, bubbling gurgle emitted from his throat as he stood back on his feet. However, the was little time to dwell on the past as his sharp nose picked up new and interesting scents. Zenmaru looked around, spotting a - boy? Another Yokai? - speaking with a human. He'd waddle his way over to their general direction, staring at the horned, four-legged beast-child with curiosity.
Stepping forward, he'd pause only for a moment, continuing towards the boy if they showed no signs of protest. Again, with the invading of personal space, the Kappa's scaly hand gently patted the beast-child's tail. { "What great and powerful spirit are you, horned one?" } Zenmaru questioned in the tongue of the Kappa.
As the boy stood from his resting place, he heard the excited squeals of a woman echoing from the hallway. Sugichi smiled and made his way to hall to find the source of the commotion. As he searched, he was sure that he'd heard somebody say his name. Eventually he peaked into a active sounding class and found a fairly populated room. "Hey, everybody good? I heard shouting. And was somebody calling for me? I was working a few rooms down." The blonde teenager entered the room fully as he spoke, standing taller than most people in the room, with his large, dark metal shield strapped to his back. He stood near the door awkwardly, looking around for anyone that might've been trying to find him.

"This place sure is a lot more active than the last time I was here." Alishia thought, allowing the kitten that accompanied her to climb up and rest on her shoulder. More importantly, she was wondering what it was this man wanted with her. She couldn't hear what he was saying, but he was clearly pointing in her direction before quickly moving on to call out the names of several other students and eventually approaching another. Her curiosity piqued, Alishia wondered over to see what exactly was going on, several others who she assumed were those whose names were called out joining her. "Excuse me good sir," Alishia said in a polite, airy tone, showing absolutely zero response when the kitten upon her shoulder placed its paws on the top of her head to sniff at the man. "What have you called us all over here for?"

Shinji cocked his head when the student mentioned he didn't have a name. "Well, that's a new one for me. Calling you Lizard Boy doesn't feel right, do you mind if I shorten it to LB?" He was about to address the boys question when the curious Kappa approached them, interested primarily in the young half-beast child. He couldn't understand the language being spoken, but sensed no ill intent from Zenmaru. Across the room, another of the students he would be gathering entered, and Shinji couldn't help but eye the boy up and down. He stood and turned to face him, making a mental note of the shield on his back. "You must be Sugichi. Come over here, please," he said in response, cheerful in tone with a smile to match. The blonde boy was younger than Shinji was, but he was slightly taller. He began to look about, trying to pinpoint Alishia's location again. "Now that just leaves..... Right on time."
As Alishia addressed him, Shinji's eyes were glued to the cat poking up above her head. 'Please, don't be one of the crazy ones,' he thought, trying to will the universe to keep this particular cat calm. He wasn't necessarily worried about being attacked, no. It was more that he did not have the energy to deal with a rambunctious kitten running around the room at this moment. Slowly he peeled his focus away from the furry creature and back to the group of four students. "Right," he cleared his throat before continuing. "Zenmaru, Sugichi, Alishia, and LB. Good to meet you all, my name is Shinji Ketsueki. I've come to take you all away from the academy today. Now, rather than explain what you will be doing here..." Shinji pulled out a small device from within his kimono, one of the standard Arashigakure chakra-devices. He activated the contraption, and a holographic three-dimensional display of the village manifested just above the device. He set the device down and pointed at a building in the housing district. "I want you all to head to this spot. I have a friend there that will explain more. I have to run an errand myself, and I will be catching up with you four a bit later. If you get lost, just keep looking in the housing district. You'll know the place when you see it."
Shinji left the map up for the students, but stepped a few paces away and produced another chakra device from elsewhere within the folds of his attire. The communication device lit up at his touch, and he held it to his ear. He spoke a few quiet words to someone on the other end, then ended the call and turned back to the children. "Right, that's my queue. And, before I forget, this is an official mission for you four. So... Best behavior, or whatever your instructors say," Shinji offered an over the shoulder wave to the kids before his body vanished in a blur, sending a soft gust of wind through the room.
"Uhm, Yes sir, LB is okay with me." The boy said to the man who had approached him. However it wasn't long before another had also approached. A weird looking...boy? Who seemed almost turtle like. The young boy moved his tail away from the turtle person who had touched it. It was kind of calming to see another person who had such an odd appearance... Then they suddenly began to speak...some weird language that he didn't understand which unnerved him. "Uhm, I'm sorry I don't know what you said..." More and more people came, and seemed to be the ones that the man who had approached him had called for. He then explained what they were doing, and the young boy would nod. Looking around at the others he would simply....begin to head out. He was nervous around people after all, so he wasn't sure about how to socialize with them and if he even really wanted to.
Alishia was surprised to say the least. A bunch of academy students like them were going on a mission? Sure, it wasn't exactly uncommon for academy students to go on missions, but she was super close to graduating and this was the first time she'd been officially given one by someone higher up. There wasn't any way she could just say no to an opportunity to help people. Even if she wanted to she couldn't seeing as it was an official mission. She turns to the three that would be her companions for this mission, noting that one was the adorable kappa from before and another was an equally adorable lizard boy, the blonde going completely ignored. "May Zelel guide on the path to victory my friends," she says, scootching closer to the lizard boy that she'd grown curious of so that she may speak with him as they left the Academy. "Hi LB! My name's Alishia." The girl was aware that LB might not truly be the boy's name, but he seemed to be okay with being called it so she decided to just refer to him using the nickname Shinji had given him for the time being.

The same rank of chakra must be expended by the sensor or dojutsu user to avoid this penalty. โข Iryojutsu may be performed by one hand, and they may channel iryojutsu through established links. โข Miyamoto of the scholar class may know the exact location of someone they're linked to. โข Miyamoto may forgo one or both of their offensive activations to grant an ally that they have linked with those activations. Additionally, the user's clan techniques are considered one rank higher when attempting to break free. โฑโฐโฑ Tactical Genius | By spending at least one full post studying their opponent the user gains one extra activation against that specific target, to be used only on a Nara Imitation technique against them. In order to properly study a target one must not take any offensive actions against them and should describe in detail things like the opponents fighting style, as well as formulating a plan against them.
After his last interrogation with the APD, Yoshinobu had taken to keeping himself busy above board. He drowned himself in tasks to keep him occupied, though he was unpredictable in the missions he took, and when and how he accepted them. This kept them from waiting for him at the mission board or by his old sensei, but kept him reasonably busy on paper so he didn't look to be evading them. The plus side was all of the ryo he was earning, in addition to keeping himself too busy to let the thoughts crowd him.
Of course, he had turned in his last task at the academy yesterday night, so they wouldn't expect him to pick up a new one from the academy because he had been alternating locations too much lately. But he was distracted. His eye was caught by an unattended sword-thing that he had never seen before. It was like nothing he had seen before in the academy, so it simply had to belong to someone. Leave it to her to somehow misplace one of the Seven Legendary Swords. The Hoshigaki could recall the sword, but property damage was something Miyuki would yell at her for. And Thresher wasnโt looking for a lecture from her girlfriend.
The thought made the woman sigh and return to her search. It wouldnโt be long before she found her sword, and a random stranger began to lift it by the handle. Thresher stopped and held out her hand and, with a will of chakra, recalled Kabutowari. The Helm Splitter lifted from its spot and spun in the air, like a saw blade. It flew into her palm perfectly and she gripped the cord before slinging it to her back with a flourish. โAnโ you are?โ She asked the man, raising a single eyebrow with an unamused look on her face.

โฑโฐโฑ Surf or Swim | Walking on or submerged in water, Hoshigaki can dodge for one rank less in resource and their speed is boosted by [1] at E-C body rank and [2] at B-S+ body rank. They are also able to use bloodline techniques with somatic gestures.
โฑโฐโฑ Sharkskin | When the Hoshigaki's blade makes contact with a target, they absorb chakra equal to the defense used. They can also start with an additional [2] bukijutsu styles.
โฑโฐโฑ Aquatic Mastery | The user's suiton techniques may be doubled in size for no additional cost. This does not effect the strength of the user's suiton techniques. In addition, should the user's water ninjutsu or clan techniques interact with another suiton technique, the user's technique steals one rank of chakra from the opposing technique. If this overpowers the opponents technique, this technique continues on it's path normally.
โฑโฐโฑ Can't be Tamed | The clan member is able to use bukijutsu while in half/beast mode, and natural weaponry (fangs, claws, horns) can be used, logically, in lieu of formal weapons. Their resourcefulness in beast form translates into their anthro/kemonomimi form, allowing them to use bukijutsu for one rank less cost (does not stack with other bukijutsu reductions).
โฑโฐโฑ Unleash the Beast | The clan member is unforgiving in their strikes. Taijutsu techniques of the user may apply one tier higher trauma status at the following ranks. E-C Rank: Tier 2, B-A Rank: Tier 3 and S-S+ Rank: Tier 4. The user may use clan techniques through animalistic vocalizations but this takes just as much time to mold chakra as handseals.
โข Sharkskin is tough and jarring to others so any physical contact made with a Hoshigaki results in tier one paralysis on the limb that made contact with the Hoshigaki. โข Bukijutsu costs [10] less resource to use at every body rank, maxing out at 60 less at S+, always to a minimum of 5 resource paid per technique.
โฐ Ogre's Grip [ Oni no Haaku ] | Rank S | Training Through their rigorous endeavors with their mighty weapon, the practitioner has developed immaculate upper body strength. Because of this impressive development, the user needs only a single hand to wield large sized weapons.
โฐ Fallen Strength | Rank A | Training The user's monstrous strength allows them to wield their hammer with a single hand, freeing their second hand for various tasks. Techniques of this style along with basic combat weapon techniques for this style of weapon are able to be used with a single hand.
โฐ Flame Breathing Pattern [ Kaen Kokyลซ Hลhล ] | Rank D | Training The user is accustomed to the unique and various breaths that it takes to preform physical attacks as well as to channel chakra. This allows the user to passively detect when an offensive action is about to occur, giving them a [1] point increase in agility per body rank of the user. Additionally, once every three posts, the user is able to defend against an offensive activation without utilizing an activation.

Yoshinobu's spine straightened as the sword moved away from him. He followed it with his eyes, watching as it landed effortlessly in the shark woman's hands. Wait. He'd heard of her before, especially since he'd spent so much time trying to pick up gossip in the village to orient himself back to it better. Wasn't she, like, the Arashikage's girlfriend? He couldn't afford to get back into hot water when he was still evading the APD's endless interrogations.
His question pulled a laugh from him. "Why's everyone want to know that?" He shook his head, but good humor followed him. He figured it wouldn't work out well to explain that his head was filled with a lot of strange memories, and he didn't actually know, confidently, who he was, so he held a hand out to her to shake. "Name's Yoshi," he introduced, unsure if his full name would raise a red flag, since he didn't know how intense the hunt was for him. "I've been needing a special weapon like that. I was just appreciating it. Nothing here in the academy's armory has the, uh, oomph, that I'm looking for. I have a vision for a sword of my own, but I don't have any affinity for sword-making."
