The words would have come so easily to her, just another snap at authority, but instead, different words passed her lips. Well, for what itโs worth, Lord Hyuuga... I, Shion Mori, acting Commander of CORE operations hereby recuse myself from the pursuit, capture, and judgement of Tosokurui Hojo. CORE resources for this case will be under your jurisdiction until such a time as it is resolved.โ With that, she would turn to leave with Kagerou, stopping for a brief moment to turn back to the Sanin. โOh, and Iโm also announcing my candidacy for Kage. Iโm sure you have your pick already figured out, and Iโll trust your judgement on that. Just know, the last man was less than willing to take the role and it broke him because of it. Iโm willing, if able.โ Shion then gripped her shoulder, giving an obviously feigned stiffness a good massage. โAnyway, youโve got enough on your plate as is. Iโll be at the hospital with Kagerou if you need me.โ sheโd add, slipping back into her trade-mark lackadaisical attitude; cant have the kids thinking sheโd gone straight, can we?

It was difficult for Takao to hear how much value Kagerou and Shion vested in him after Toso had done the same. He kept his head down and feigned thoughtfulness even as his eyes burned. It felt like redemption, after all of his faults for leaving the village, but some of it was undoubtedly unearned. He hadn't delivered an endorsement for Kage, now had he? It was a lot to think about. "Sorry to burden you with the choice, Lord Hyuga. I saw some of Miyuki's defense of myself and she fought well with Thresher and the others. I... I'm sorry I can't offer you any assistance." He cleared his throat, wanted a cigarette, but stilled his nervous hands. He didn't want to be chastised for smoking indoors and he wanted to be totally present for this moment.
Kameyo looked down at Rieyar's signature and smiled, even as it didn't meet her eyes. "Thank you, Rieyar. You should be able to pursue the slug's arts on your own but if you ever need assistance, let Plory know. I've done the sage thing more than once." The slug that had revealed itself on her shoulder early seemed to move in a rhythmic fashion at the namedrop.
She then turned her gaze towards Kagerou and listened to her words with mixed emotion. However, duty had to come before grief, and she agreed to follow. She set Plory down on the desk beside Rieyar and made her way to the exit, stopping by a white-haired genin. "I would like to see you when you are finished here so I can examine the presence of corrupted Jashinist chakra on your person. You're not in any danger but it would help us greatly if I could sample it. Please meet me at the academy when you are finished." Again, she tried to smile comfortingly, but her eyes were unemotive. She took a final glance at the room, gaze resting the longest on Kenshin, before she finally left for the hospital.

โฑโฐโฑHe prepared himself to listen to more protestations from Shion, Kagerou, Kameyo, and the others of him taking his lawful role to select the Arashikage. The sannin had no interest in hearing any false equivalencies comparing him to them for the failure that was Toso's tenure as the Arashikage. Kenshin had stood against Toso on multiple occasions but was met with opposition by Toso's friends among the advisor committee. Still, he was surprised that Kagerou and Shion were cooperating with him in this matter. Toso needed to be found to ensure that the rokubi was secured from the Jashinists and that the ex-kage would face the consequences for his actions. He noticed Shion's leave but was prepared to track her down later to sanctify Matatabi. He looked at the others who remained in the area. Once Miyuki finished speaking he nodded with ever the slightest hint of fatigue. "I'm going to the Arashikage's office to examine the files of all possible Arashikage candidates. Miyuki and Freya, follow me." Kenshin would begin walking up to the highest level of the Spire. He would not forbid anyone else from following him but Miyuki and Freya were who he requested. He would take a seat at the Arashikage's desk and begin reorganizing the documents and tossing aside Toso's odd personal effects. Other ANBU would join Freya and fill the room to give Kenshin more details about the Jashinist attack. "Help me clean this place out, please." He requested of the office staff who were steadily returning to their duties after evacuating during the emergency. The assistants flooded the room and began removing Toso's belongings in boxes. The office was quickly becoming more bare and procedural in anticipation of a new Arashikage. Kenshin then poured over the files of Miyuki, Shion, Kagerou, and other higher-level personnel in the village. "Shion Mori, head of CORE, advisor to the Arashikage. Qualified in most shinobi matters. However...far too much of a Toso loyalist so her judgment is questionable." Once he finished with her file he put it away. She was a candidate and her willingness to put her life on the line during the Jashinist attack was admirable. Albeit from the intel that was being presented to him from the ANBU it appeared that she waited for the enemy to come to her rather than engaging under the proper protocols. Kenshin looked at other candidates before reading Miyuki's file. "Are you interested in being an Arashikage candidate?" His voice had a tinge of boredom but this was feigned as he was reading through her file. Her answers to his earlier questions regarding her involvement in the Jashin attack were satisfactory. While he waited for a response he would command the ANBU to begin searching for Toso and putting the village back in order. He allowed himself to rest in the comfortable desk chair as he felt his chakra beginning to replenish. His cloak of reincarnation chakra would subside as well. Miyuki followed Kenshin dutifully. The methodical manner in which all of the ANBU removed each touch of personality from the office could have been distressing, but she didn't take her eyes off of the Sannin. He worked through some different papers and it took her a moment to realize he was examining her own. She wondered what he saw in there. The pairing of the solemn removal of everything indicative of the last leader with no emotion with Kenshin's nonchalance in asking her about the position of Arashikage nearly floored her. She hesitated to answer for a moment, wondering just how often the man juggled matters this large for it to not warrant a larger reaction.
"I agreed to serve this village when I accepted this headband. If the village needs a leader, I am happy to stand at the head." She thought about everything that was said earlier. There were plenty of high-ranking ninja in the village, and she would need all of their advice. In fact, the more the better. "How much longer will you be in the village? I know you have your duties and that this Jashin business needs to be handled - and naturally, I want to help with that as Arashikage or as a chunin. This is... a lot." She wanted to ask him to stay, but it wasn't something she could do. He clearly had a task greater than the village. She would have normally offered herself up to help round up the demons as well, but she wouldn't be able to if she were leading the village. It was going to be a precarious thing, the dedication of hands to the larger Jashin thread versus the dedication of hands in restoring order in the village.

โฑโฐโฑKenshin nodded solemnly at Miyuki when she accepted her candidacy. He slowly finished reading her file and re-examined the others including Shion. "Take heart that you're all more qualified than Toso was. He was professionally useless in the UHV war and owned a restaurant." Kenshin's voice was stern as he was not joking although his bluntness could be considered a sort of humor or levity for him. He sat back as he weighed the choices before him. Despite his veneer of apathy, he understood deeply the importance of this decision. When he spoke up he would not directly respond to Miyuki and instead focused on the tasks ahead as he saw them. "Your records indicate a balanced temperament. Toso was imbalanced. The twins disappeared as well. This village is in desperate need of stability. While Shion is more senior to you, she does not have such a record. Therefore, you're my choice." Kenshin would stand from his seat and summon more ANBU. "Send out an announcement to the villagers and have them gather outside the Spire within the hour." Kenshin then clearly began looking around the room as if he lost something. Eventually, he opened a drawer and found the Arashikage's ceremonial hat. "I need to help Shion with her demon and then I'm going to look for the others. If you get leads on Toso then send for me." He placed his contact information on the desk for Miyuki's use although it was seamless for CORE to get in touch with the village's sannin. Crowds began forming outside of the Spire as Kenshin would lead Miyuki out to the balcony. Before they would finally step out together he mentioned one final detail as if he was near forgetting it. It was clear that Kenshin was moving with haste to stabilize Arashi so that he could return to his war against the Jashinists. "Also, if you start causing chaos in the village then I'll return, remove you from power, and install Shion. Other than that, I'll leave the governing of the village to you." Kenshin had many of his own opinions about how Arashigakure should be structured but he had no interest in unduly influencing the greenhorn Arashikage. Once Kenshin stepped out with the Arashikage hat he would give a brief speech while projecting his voice. "The Sun has set on Tosokurui Ashi Hojo's reign as Arashikage! I, Kenshin Hyuga, sannin of Arashigakure, have chosen Miyuki Ukyo as the third Arashikage! Her exemplary service to the village during the Jashinist attack has elevated her to this role based on merit!" Kenshin would place the official hat on Miyuki's head before bowing respectfully to her and dismissing himself. If Miyuki wanted to give a speech then he would wait for that before debriefing her. "I will not rest until the Jashinists are defeated. If they are successful then Jashin intends to invade our world and bring the apocalypse in his wake. The demons, his creations, are his keys to doing so. Remain vigilant, Lady Arashikage." Before Miyuki could ask any questions, the sannin would leave the Spire to find Shion at the academy.

The electricity from the blade also forms bolts of lightning over the body of the user and appears to supercharge them. Whenever the blade is swung or thrust over the duration the user can fire a concentrated blast of ten bolts of lightning to accompany the strike equal to the rank applied but for only half the cost to initiate the technique. Hatake, Raiu, and Sage enhanced lightning can pass through the blade and apply to these lightning bolts. The bolts cause a thunderously deafening sonic boom and can inflict tier 2 burns upon direct contact with the lightning. Additionally, these lightning bolts can be freely applied to all complex bukijutsu for no action cost to smite enemies. Draconic Sabre of Moon Sundering [ Getsu Sandaringu no Dorakonikku Seibฤ ] | Rank X | Bukijutsu [ Lightning ] | Complex This is the original ability of the ancient Getsuruito blade and thus requires the original katana form. 5 chakra can be spent to transform the blade to its original form upon activation of this technique. Crackling and thunderous dark blue lightning can be applied to the katana's edge at any rank and the same lightning can form a dragon head formed from electricity over the body of the user for 10 posts. This allows all spiritual techniques the sword comes into contact with to be slashed through and even cut in half at the same rank despite the complex nature of the technique. For half of the original cost to activate the technique a same-rank spiritual electrical energy slash can be sent out from the slash of the blade. This same cost can be applied to any complex bukijutsu to achieve the same effect. The original 10 post activation of this ability consumes an action but all subsidiary abilities do not.

Miyuki wasn't sure what to say to Kenshin's dismissal of Toso's qualifications so she kept silent, though she knew she would end up seeing that for herself when she thoroughly studied all files on Toso to help her figure out his whereabouts. She was flattered to be his choice but, before she could articulate such thoughts, he quickly reminded her that he would, with no doubt equal haste of her promotion, demote her and replace her. It was a very sobering thought at the end of the day. One on hand, no man should have so much political power, she thought, but on the other, when had he last failed Arashigakure at all beyond leaving it, as all free men are able to do?
She accepted the ceremonial hat and schooled her expression as quickly as possible to seem appropriately stoic for the balcony announcement. She nodded slightly to acknowledge his bow. "I hope you will forgive the lack of formalities, but I am saving such ceremonial kindnesses for after the the village is completely stabilized and we can confidently assure the safety of each of you. I expect all able-bodied shinobi who are not on current assignments or otherwise immediately assisting the function of the village to approach me at their earliest convenience. We have much work to do and only so much time to do it. Thank you for your time." She headed back inside with Kenshin, listening to his brief concerns about the matters of the world. She certainly did not want to hold him up.
"Of course, Lord Hyuga. I am unsure if you are still in need of Lady Kameyo's services but I hope you will make use of whatever shinobi you need for the mission that lies ahead of you. I will assist however I can." She would let Kenshin leave and also walk through the Arashikage's office back to the hall of the Spire where all the advisors had stood. Her gaze surveyed everyone in the room before coming back to rest on Thresher the longest.
"Okay, everyone. I know things are moving quickly but we need to maintain this momentum. If you are working with Lord Hyuga or otherwise on some task to aid in the neutralization of the Jashinists and their plot, you do not need to stay for this. Thanks to Lord Hyuga's Tenseigan, there is minimal reconstruction necessary. I would like to see each of you assist with the people of this village. Some grassroots efforts to make them feel safe, regardless of how silly they seem, would be a good use of your time if you are not occupied with a larger task. I would like to see CORE forces focus on the Jashin business and the safety of the village, but a minority allocation towards the rediscovery of Toso would be welcome. I trust each member of Toso's previous cabinet is content to continue their tasks until we otherwise discuss things.
"Thresher, I would like to see you in my office to discuss plans. If the rest of you have concerns, I am open to hear them. Otherwise, it is time to begin regrouping and re-securing the village so that we can effectively fight the Jashinists and their plot." She would accept the controller garb from Kagerou, carefully putting on the slightly ill-fitting garment. She didn't adjust the position of the village quite yet.

tabWith Miyuki and the others leaving, Thresher didnโt particularly socialize. She had stayed behind while her girlfriend and the Lord did their own thing. Politics and the like never interested Thresher, and the scene between those two had seemed like it was a solitary one. Something big was coming, though, that much she could feel. Much like the calm in the eye of a hurricane, whatever happened next was only the beginning. That was what her instincts were telling her, anyway.
So while the ones that remained waited, Thresher leaned her back against the wall with her arms over her chest, with Kabutowari leaning against her leg on the floor. The woman looked down at the legendary sword. When sheโd fought with it at the hospital for the first time, Thresher could feel the power from the weapon. Even now, in this relaxed setting, she was able to sense the thrum of power coming off of it. Thresher narrowed her eyes a little, pondering the events of the attack. Even if sheโd been fighting at her best, something about Kabutowari hadnโt felt right. Thresher was the rightful owner of the Sword, but it had felt like the weapon was holding back its full strength from her. Thresher wondered for a second if sheโd need to finally go back home...
Before Thresher could think about it further, her thoughts were interrupted by the return of Miyuki and Kenshin. The warrior woman pushed off from the wall before the artist spoke, taking note of the hat she now wore. It was ill fitting in size only, as Thresher knew what Miyuki was capable of; plus the oversized hat made her look cute. Thresher met the brunetteโs gaze with her own lingering, yet piercing look, before her lips spread into a toothy grin.
โOโ โcourse, mโlady.โ Thresher, still grinning, said as she walked past the group to stand at Miyukiโs side. Even with her choice of words, Thresher addressed Miyuki with a more celebrated veneer than sheโd ever given Toso. โAy, you lot, ya โeard thโ Kage! Scram, thereโs work tโ be done!โ

If Thresher felt she could handle it, then Miyuki felt confident about things, too. "Right, okay. First things first, we will want to extend diplomatic groups... I think we need to reach out to the other villages and such in order to make sure we can unite over this threat; they nearly brought the Storm to its knees, so I cannot imagine what kind of chaos they will bring upon us when they have bijuu energy.
"How about, ah, that will work. Thresher, what if you go to Zaishin City? I would appreciate it if you could alert them to the change of leadership in the Storm, as well as the nature of the threat that looms over us all. You can leave whenever you feel ready, but please allow me to give you some assistance from this distance." She then put a hand on Thresher's shoulder, generating a seal that would allow an ink creature to spawn on command - giving Miyuki information she would need about the meeting [ Flickering Visage ]. "Please take at least one other person with you on this mission. And be safe, of course." She leaned forward to give Thresher a kiss on her cheek but had to adjust the large kage hat to do so.
She then ducked her head out of the office to the many shinobi still present. "Kaito, I want you at the Lightning Empire. It is important for them to know about the change of leadership and about the Jashinist threat. Given your noted record for peace-keeping as an officer in the APD with low arrests but high success in dispersing trouble, I would like you to also approach, tactfully, the subject of the Storm rejoining the Lightning Empire. We need security and unity against this threat and all future threats." She looked across the room, wanting some allies to go along with him. "Rieyar, if you have no other commitments at this time, I would like you to accompany Kaito."
Finally, her gaze fell on Takao. "Takao, you notably went to the Leaf recently. I would appreciate it if you could go there and do the same. Please also take some shinobi with you. I think Lilou would be a good choice but you are welcome to take more allies." Like with Thresher, she would place a seal on Kaito and Takao [ Flickering Visage ].
"Leave when you are able, and return as soon as possible. We will need to brace ourselves for what comes next. Thank you. If any of you have need of me, you may enter the office." With that, she returned to her office to begin reorganizing what little was left of it. She had lots of files to familiarize herself with, in addition to village security functions.

Takao perked up at hearing his name called and listened to what the kage had to say, internally celebrating the fact he'd get to visit the Leaf again. He couldn't wait to see Nimure, though he supposed he'd have bad news in tow about the Jashinists and a possible impending disaster because of them. "Uh, of course, uh, Lady Miyuki." He accepted the giga seal on his shoulder, giving himself a moment to preen over how it settled on his tattoos before looking around the room for Lilou. "Are you ready to go?" Despite the grim news that part of their mission required them to bare, he was still quite excited about getting to go to the Leaf and it showed on his face as he grinned at her. He stuck a hand in his pocket as they walked through the office, feeling a pleasant upswing in mood.

Lilou stayed hovering in the back silently as everything unfolded, listening to what she was privy to and glad the fact the new Arashikage was immediately on the problem, not waiting to begin reaching out. Reaching out to the other villages to figure out how to deal with what was going on in respect to the Jashinists as well as an envoy to express the change in power were both very valid reasons to act, though Lilou had a spiritual bias toward figuring out what the Jashinists had planned and working to derail it. Her big blue friend would lean a hand down its own throat and withdraw her cellphone and handing it too her as she noted hearing her own name and began sending her dad a message, letting him know she was being assigned to a mission and wouldnโt be home any time soon and that he should order dinner, not wanting her dad to worry or starve(exaggeration) without her.
The large Muppet would wave its hand at Takao as he approach, nodding his head to affirm the lads question and speaking at the same time, voice less projected than normal โMmmmm Lilou am ready, yes, yes, yes! To the Konoha we will go, Just let Lilou change her clothes maybe first!โ The announcement corroborated by the girl completing the message on her phone and pocketing it, looking back at Takao with a neutral expression that fit the energy of the office, though her eyes betrayed a similar level of excitement at the prospect of going to the Konoha. Lilou was currently in full combat gear and the skin tight nature of the Arashi standard issue armour was a little much for her on a mission like this, not liked sheโd outright state โThis armours embarrassing you know!โ Lilou would walk out of the office a step behind Takao, tapping his shoulder and using sign language to signal sheโd meet him at the gates before the Puppet would vanished in smoke and Lilou would disassemble into paper cranes that would glide toward the residential zone.
Rieyar was about to protest being treated like a shinobi, but caught themselves before they even started. While they felt some sense of duty to help heal the people of the village, they also had little interest in sticking around at the moment. The trip here had not been what they expected, or hoped. Though they were aware of a proclivity for getting into fights, the medic had not expected a visit to the shinobi world proper to involve them getting drawn into one of their own. It was an experience they were not keen to repeat, and at the moment Rieyar didnโt see how sticking around here would result in anything else. They acquiesced to Miyukiโs suggestion that they travel with this Kaito person via a quiet bow. It hadnโt been too terribly long since they struck out from Kumoito looking to grow their medical skills, but itโd been long enough. There were other places to visit, and it didnโt seem like this Miyuki was likely to send the village flying off anywhere crazy, so itโd likely be in roughly the same spot.

I come baring important news for the Arashikage, I seek an audience with them." He'd rise, and so would the two behind him, having followed suit with their Lord.
Heavenโs Judgment [ Kouten no Saiketsu ] | Rank S The user performs the required hand signs, blasting a twenty five foot wide tube of lightning that rotates like a drill as it mulches the land beneath it as it travels up to two hundred feet ahead at it's target. The secretary, Kyo, listened to Ishikura and grinned at him. "'Course, Mate. She's right in there," he said and gestured with his ink brush towards her office. He then went back to writing some kind of note into a scroll with meticulous calligraphy.
When Ishikura entered her office through the wide-open door, she turned around from fussing with her garb. It would need to be tailored if she insisted on continuing to use it, but she was going to set Arashigakure down and stash the gear away, so it seemed a bit of a waste. "Oh! Hello. Um, Ishikura Raiu, yes? It is a pleasure to meet you." She shed the oversized, ill-fitting coat and folded it to set on her desk. She remained in regular shinobi gear, though she retained the heavy kage hat.
"I hear you have important news. I do as well. I actually sent a team to Zaishin to deliver some news of our own.
