As excited as she had been about the festivities, Aaminah found herself becoming surprisingly overwhelmed. Perhaps it was about time she take her trinkets and toys and go home, at least for an hour or so. It wouldn't hurt to get something of substance to eat and then come back, right?
That was when she saw it--the most adorable plush to ever exist.
"Oh no... I need like, forty," she breathed, stepping over towards the booth with the adorable seal pup plushies, her gaze lifting to the nightmare behind the book.
Braelyn was on her way out, despite having earlier deciding to stick around for at least a while longer. There were just too many people, and she found herself rather hastily becoming rather uncomfortable.
She had nearly made it to the door when she paused, something catching the corner of her eyes, a smile curling on her lips. The small snowglobes at the near by booth were... absolutely precious. Despite herself, Braelyn couldn't help but to wander over, gently picking up one of the snowglobes.
"It's the Academy," she said softly, a smile curling on her lips as she gave it a quick shake. "I kinda miss going here,"
Malachi blushed a bit. "It's Care of Magical Creatures. It's a really neat class. Get to learn a lot about familiars and animals. You might like it if you like learning about them~"
With free hands, Hailey grabbed up a necklace, and looped it over Malachi's head. "This guy is gonna end up taking every class in school if he keeps this up. He's such a nerd~" Snickering at the thought, she paused for a moment and debated. "Prolly!... though that may interfere with my plans to be a crazy cat lady! Heehee" Freed up from crap, Hailey stretched her hands over her head. "Aaaaaah! Let's go! So gonna kick butt!"
Malachi shook his head, not bothering to argue what she said... she was right anyways, so why dispute it? He grabbed up a plushie, ready to give it to her, but his mom took up the rest of the stuff he was holding to shoo him off for the game. "Guess we should go~" Taking Hailey's hand, he reached out for Nikora's too. "Shall we, ladies?"

Dodger smiled, patting his new friend on the shoulder again. "No worries, huh?" The Grimm chuckled some, all smiles. "Thanks Gly. Means a lot to me!" All grins now, he watched as the young lady took her turn first. A for effort was his thought as she got her consolation prize. "That the best you got, Gly?" he asked, nudging her with a smirk. Now it was his turn. There was much ceremony as he stepped up and took the first ball. Focusing his eyes on the milk bottles stacked ahead, he took his first shot and nailed it!, knocking all the bottles down. "Yes!" he shouted out, doing a victory fist pump. But then he realized he was probably being a bit showy. "Sorry 'bout that! I'm just feeling game deprived." He took his other couple shots, and even though he could have had his pick of anything, he settled on a book that seemed really interesting. "Have you read this one? I don't know it yet. I guess I'm gonna, though!"

While up and getting some earrings, there were also candy canes to catch the Litch's attentions as well. They were being handed out and Bobbi was actually wanting to accept them. Though Bobbi usually wasn't one for sweets all too often, something about the festivities were certainly encouraging to the want to indulge. Accepting the small bundle of candies, Bobbi thanked the Nightmare and even smiled to them. But now, there was still the want to just relax and continue reading. Taking xyr spot on the bench once more, xe took up the book and cup of hot chocolate once again. Mmmmm... It was still warm and tasted even better for some reason. Yes... there was certainly something about being here and just enjoying the surroundings that was making this oh so enjoyable.
"Whatcha talking about? The Fluffbug or the Goblin holdin' it?" Matty asked, the biggest grin on his face as he did so. He let out a very amused laugh at the other guy's actions, shaking his head again to make the bells jingle as to not be out-done! After his semi-show, he gently tucked the bug into the crook of his arm, taking the other's hand. "Matty. I'm new to the area and the community college. Someone said this was the place to have fun before the new semester started, so here I am!" Letting go of the offered-to-him hand, he struck a pose, jutting his hip to the side and shooting his free hand up. Of course, he had momentarily forgotten the poor bug in his hold as she buzzed at his motion in protest. "Ah shoot! Sorry girl!" Making sure she was okay, he held her up so she could fly about again. "Cutie bug~" And as she seemed to stick about, he smiled and rubbed between her eyes gently. "So what about you, Ryker? You know the place good enough to help a new guy?" he asked, grinning as he spied a pair of earrings. Grabbing them up, he held them to his ears. "Whatcha think? Too much?" he asked, trying not to laugh

After spending a little more time with the Salamander, just relaxing with his book and coffee, the demon rose from his seat. There wasn't much in ways of trinkets and baubles at the festival that really caught his attentions, but as he began to walk about one more, he decided that a snow globe would be a nice addition to his rather drab and dull apartment. As he took one up, tipping it upside down, the right side up once more, he smiled as the glittery snow fell slowly. "Whatcha think, little critter? It's pretty peaceful to look at, hmmm?" Tucking it away, along with a plushie that was handed to him as well -- not that he really knew what to do with it just yet -- he decided maybe he would check out foods that the festival had to offer. He was feeling a might bit hungry, so it couldn't hurt to find something to eat while he was there.
Whelp back to winning plushies and look it wasn’t purple this time. Aleis might have also not exactly gotten this plushie with the noblest intentions but it was kind of cute. They had always had a weakness for vespercats. Looking down at them they wondered if this was enough. Maybe they could snag a book to read. It was getting kind of cold and wet lately due to the weather. It was enough that Aleis had been cooped up for a while under their blankets.
So he had at least a few items that weren’t plushies. He was still stuck on what to add next luckily the decision was made for him and a book was thrown at him. Faust managed to catch it right before he was smacked in the face and looked down at the cover with a smile. Well it looked like wishes did happen if you waited long enough. Maybe he would be adventurous next and try for one of those boas… but it had to be one of the more muted colors…. Nothing too outrageous
Alto couldn’t help himself it reminded him soo much of twister that he needed to get that plushie. Of course his attempt to win it failed, as did his other three free attempts. With a sigh he went over to the bench and wondered his next course of action…. Could he trade plushies with someone that had them, but then he hadn’t gotten too much from this festival, and he had been sick all the other festivals. Ugh maybe it just wasn’t meant to….. he trailed off as something was suddenly dropped into his lap. Looking up the senior gave him a small smile before disappearing into the crowd before Alto could thank him.
The Winter Solstice Festival! So exciting! Unfortunately, Cal and Eidil had spent most of the event locked away in a room in the library, studying for their math test after the break. But with their studying done, they were ready to join the real world. Eidil picked a blue stocking--her favorite color!--and picked up the cutest blue and white snowflake bracelet. She gave the Fallen a one-armed hug. "Happy Solstice, huh?"
Cal took an orange one--she preferred warmer colors. She would have preferred something with more contrast, but hey, this was pretty enough. She picked up a potted plant from a table that said "free plants!" She didn't have time to speak, though, because before she could say a word, something landed on the top of her head.
"Hey, Eidil, do me a big favor? What the freak is on my head?"
Eidil stared. "It's either a moth or a bee, Cal. I think it's one of those new Daydream familiars..."
Good, good, excellent, Kuni had his opportunity to sneak in. He quickly started dragging boxes away before someone tapped him on the shoulder. "Hey, what are you doing?"
Kuni froze and turned to look at a dull-eyed Litch. "Um...I'm...moving...zese..."
The Litch sighed. "Don't. Those are for the engineering club to give out." The Litch took a boa off of their neck and wrapped it around the Dryad's neck. "Happy Solstice. If you'd like a trinket, just ask us. But you can't take them all, okay."
Talya wiped her eyes--all of them, then straightened out her clothing and her hair. Her friends--pah!--were at the boxes, digging through them. The senior who had been attending to them had left, but they returned shortly to hand her a bucket full of--cotton balls? "Here, but this on your eye," they said gently. "They're enchanted to be cold, they'll make you feel better."
Talya nodded and sniffed. She picked one up and applied it to her third eye. Surprisingly... It did feel good. "Thanks."
Lillian wrapped herself in a discarded green boa that reminded her of kelp--specifically, feather-boa kelp (of course!). But she also saw a stuffed wolf that caught her eye. Ah, one last wolf...what could it hurt? She picked it up, pulled its wrapping off and hugged it to her chest. Yes, perfect!
Evey didn't feel quite right about taking too many plushies. She felt like she needed permission. But hey, the discarded trinkets were fair game, right? She pulled out a bag of cracked and broken peppermint bark. It was in small pieces, but it still looked tasty...
Xeno shook his head at his dad. "Aren't you worried it will mess your hair?" He took Jurvik over to a memory card game, flipping over cards to win a prize. He tried it twice--the first go, he got three pairs! He won a stuffed wolf from that. But his second go earned him only a bracelet. He slipped it on. It occurred to him that green and red were the colors of Corben's and Dad's hairs...
"Yeah. That's why I'm not going to wear it. I don't suppose Persephone would like to wear them?" He laughed and tucked them in his stocking, then took his turn at the memory cards. He did just as well as Xeno did--he won a stuffed animal and a bag of peppermints. He looked over at Xeno. "Do you mind if I get a plushie for Leif?"
Xeno paused, then nodded. "I've got an awful lot," he said. "I'm running out of names for them."
"My name's Anchriesel. I don't talk much. So I'm not surprised that you didn't know my name." Chries wasn't offended. Most people didn't have good memory with people, anyway. Chries examined the rings, then threw them at the farthest pole. There was a sign above it--"Get a ring around this and win a pet!"
His ring circled the pole all the way down to the base. The game master applauded him and pointed to several small cages with young flitterrats inside. Chries pointed to one with a green and white Flitterrat. "That one, please," he murmured. "Thank you."
His next ring he aimed much closer--he won a pair of gold earrings. "So, what sort of pets do you like?" he asked of Zalir.
Wyrdda made her way over to the book booth. She wanted something to read this evening. A Solstice Song would do. She tucked it in her bag. That looked like good reading for a winter night!
Oriset made her way over to a shooting game, where potato guns were aimed at moving targets. She didn't do as well as she could have done--all she earned were some candy canes. Eh. That was her first try. She was determined to do better next time!
Quilo was about ready to go home, but not before picking up a couple more prizes. He went by the book booth, looking for something new to read. Hey, A Solstice Song? That was pretty good, right? A classic, at least. He put it in his stocking and looked around for something else to do.
"I, um...I like jellies," Zalir said. "I got one at the, um, at the fair when Ava became headmistress? And I really like them." Zey looked over to the side. They did appear to have some jellies...Zey took a deep breath and threw zeir rings at the farthest target, one at a time. The first two missed, but at least hit the pole. But the last one? It found its mark. Zalir smiled and picked out a small black jelly for the far ring win and a peppermint lollipop for the misses. "Thank you," zey murmured to the vendor. And zey smiled at Anchriesel. He had been the one to encourage zem, after all...
Talya was giving Perigor a funny look. Meh, whatever. He ignored her in favor of picking out some peppermint bark from the rejected trinkets box. "So do you really thing your mom's going to let us all sleep over? There's an awful lot of us."
Teo nodded. "Of course she will. Mom really likes kids. It's...one of the reasons she adopted me. She'll be happy that I made friends--I've told her all about you all, and she wants to meet you. Well, except for Ustule...but she'll want to meet Ustule when I tell her about Ustule. Any more candy canes in there?" he said hopefully.
"Of course." Peri handed him some, but before they could continue, someone tapped Teo on the shoulder.
"Hey, um," a senior said, "would you like a plushie?"
Teo's wing twitched. "Sure. Uh, do you have any jackalopes?"
"Yeah!" The senior sounded relieved. They handed him a plastic-wrapped package and left.
