If all she could do to help was bring down the same monster again and again, then she was going to do exactly that. She felt no exhaustion over fighting it once more, because she knew they'd win. They always won.

Her trident came down hard on the marble beasts paw, chipping off a whole toe. It looked gruesome.

When she finally leaned back to lay out another strike, the beast found her before she could bring the trident down onto it, and kicked her away with it's broken foot. Marble pieces came tumbling along with her, pinning her to the ground for a second. They weren't heavy enough to keep her down, just heavy enough to stop her from attacking until she had cleaned up. Dawson was on his own for a minute. HP: 29 Damage: 0 Maebe HP: 25 Charge: 3/3 Stamina: 25

Dawson was ready to try his new strength against the lion, but he stayed back to let Maebe have her fill. Psyching himself up, he rushed forward when the opportunity presented itself.

Thankfully the stronger bond with his partner made it easier to use her. Or at least he was getting used to her heavier form quicker, which was good because this lion thing really freaking hurt.

Did we mention how strong Dawson could be when he was really annoyed and actually focused it? Because it could be a little scary, especially since he was very into destroying this annoying obstacle. Maebe finally got back up after squirming out from under the marble, just in time to see Dawson lose his mind on the creature. It was worth getting up for. "I guess." She shrugged, conflicted between wanting to finish the fight, and wanting to see Dawson's wild side some more. Her sense of impatience won, and she skewered the monster right through it's neck.
